¹ Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the command of God our Savior and of Christ Jesus our hope, ² To Timothy, my true son in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God our Father and Christ Jesus our Lord. ³ As I urged you when I went into Macedonia, remain on at Ephesus so that you may instruct certain men not to teach strange doctrines, ⁴ nor to devote themselves to myths and endless genealogies. These promote controversies rather than the divine trainingwhich is by faith. ⁵ Now the goal of that command is love, out of a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith; ⁶ Some have strayed from these ways and turned aside to empty talk. ⁷ They want to be teachers of the Law, but they do not understand what they are saying or that which they so confidently assert. ⁸ Now we know that the law is good if one uses it correctly, ⁹ We realize that law is not enacted for the righteous, but for the lawless and rebellious, for the ungodly and sinful, for the unholy and profane, for killers of father or mother, for murderers, ¹⁰ for fornicators, for sodomites, for kidnappers, for liars, for perjurers, and for whatever else is contrary to the sound doctrine ¹¹ that agrees with the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which he entrusted to me. ¹² I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength, because he considered me faithful, appointing me to his service. ¹³ Even though I was formerly a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent aggressor, I was shown mercy because I acted ignorantly in unbelief; ¹⁴ the grace of our Lord overflowed, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. ¹⁵ It is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinnersof whom I am the foremost. ¹⁶ But for this very reason I was shown mercy, so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display His perfect patience, as an example to those who would believe in Him for eternal life. ¹⁷ Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen. ¹⁸ Timothy, my child, I am instructing you in keeping with the prophecies made earlier about you, so that by following them you may continue to fight the good fight ¹⁹ Holding on to faith and a good conscience; which some have rejected and so shipwrecked their faith: ²⁰ Among them are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I have handed over to Satan to be taught not to blaspheme.

²¹ They forgot God, who saved them, who had done great things in Egypt,

² "Truly God is my salvation! I will trust and not be afraid. the LORD… the LORD is my strength and my song! He has become my salvation."

³ For I am the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior. I have given Egypt as your ransom, Ethiopia and Seba in your stead.

¹¹ I, even I, am the LORD; and besides me there is no savior.

¹⁵ Truly you are a God who hides himself, O God and Savior of Israel.

²¹ Declare and bring near; yea, let them consult together. Who has revealed this of old; who has told it from then? Is it not I, the LORD? And there is no God other than Me; a just God and a Savior; there is none except Me.

²⁶ I will feed those who oppress you with their own flesh; and they will be drunk on their own blood, as with sweet wine. Then all flesh shall know that I, the LORD, am your Savior and your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.”

¹⁶ You will also drink the milk of the nations, and will nurse from royal breasts. Then you will know that I, the LORD, am your Savior, your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.

⁸ He said: They are my people, sons who will not lie to me. So he became their Savior.

⁴ "I AM the LORD YOUR GOD. I brought you out of Egypt. You have known no god besides me. There is no savior except me.

⁴⁷ and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior!

¹¹ Today in the City of David a Savior has been born to you. He is Christ the Lord!

¹⁵ But the Lord said to him: "Go, for this man is my chosen instrument to uphold my Name before the Gentiles and their kings, and the people of Israel.

¹⁶ ‘But get up and stand on your feet. For I have appeared to you to appoint you as a servant and as a witness of what you have seen from Me and what I will show you. ¹⁷ I will rescue you from your own people and from the Gentiles. I am sending you to them ¹⁸ to open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.'

¹² And again, Isaiah says: “The Root of Jesse will appear, even He who rises up to rule over the nations; the Gentiles will place their hope on Him.” ¹³ Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you believe in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

¹⁶ May our Lord Jesus, the Messiah himself, and may God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal comfort and good hope,

³ This is good and acceptable before God our Savior,

⁷ To this I was appointed a herald and an apostle — I am telling the truth, I am not lying — a teacher of Gentiles in faith and truth.

¹⁰ To this end we labor and strive, because we have set our hope on the living God, who is the Savior of all men, and especially of those who believe.

¹⁰ but has now been revealed through the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ, who has abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel. ¹¹ For this gospel I was appointed a preacher and an apostle and a teacher.

³ In His own time, He has revealed His message in the proclamation entrusted to me by the command of God our Savior.

¹⁰ and not to steal, but to show that they can be fully trusted, so that in everything they will adorn the doctrine of God our Savior.

¹³ Looking for the blessed hope, the glorious appearing of our great God and Saviour Jesus Christ;

⁴ But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared,

⁶ whom he poured out on us richly, through Jesus Christ our Savior;

³ Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! By His great mercy, He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

²¹ Through Him you believe in God, who raised Him from the dead and glorified Him; and so your faith and hope are in God.

¹ Simon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who through the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ have received a faith as precious as ours:

¹⁴ And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent His Son to be the Savior of the world.

¹ Now he went to Derbe and Lystra too. At Lystra there was a disciple named Timothy, whose mother was a Christian Jewess, but his father was a Greek. ² The brothers at Lystra and Iconium spoke well of him. ³ Paul wanted to have him go out with him, and he took and circumcised him because of the Jews who were in those parts; for they all knew that his father was a Greek.

⁷ To all in Rome who are loved by God and called to be saints: Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

¹⁴ I am not writing this to shame you, but to warn you as my beloved children. ¹⁵ Even if you have ten thousand guardians in Christ, you do not have many fathers; for in Christ Jesus I became your father through the gospel. ¹⁶ Therefore I urge you to imitate me. ¹⁷ That is why I have sent you Timothy, my beloved and faithful child in the Lord. He will remind you of my way of life in Christ Jesus, which is exactly what I teach everywhere in every church.

³ Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ,

¹⁹ I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you soon, that I also may be cheered when I receive news of you. ²⁰ I do not have anyone else like him who takes a genuine interest in your welfare. ²¹ For everyone else is looking out for his own interests, not for those of Jesus Christ. ²² But you know that he has proved his worth, because as a son with his father he has served with me in the work of the gospel.

² We sent Timothy, our brother and God’s fellow worker in the gospel of Christ, to strengthen and encourage you in your faith,

¹⁸ Timothy, my child, I am instructing you in keeping with the prophecies made earlier about you, so that by following them you may continue to fight the good fight

² to Timothy, my dear child. Grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.

¹ You then, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.

⁴ To Titus, my true child in our common faith: Grace and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Savior.

² who have been chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, by the sanctifying work of the Spirit, for obedience to Jesus Christ and sprinkling with his blood: may grace and peace be yours in abundance.

¹⁹ They came to Ephesus and Paul left his companions there. He himself went into the synagogue and debated with the Jews.

¹ While Apollos was at Corinth, Paul passed through the interior and came to Ephesus. There he found some disciples ² and asked them, "Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?" They answered him, "No, we haven't even heard that there is a Holy Spirit." ³ "Then," said he, "what were you baptized in?" "In John's baptism," they replied. ⁴ Paul explained: “John’s baptism was a baptism of repentance. He told the people to believe in the One coming after him, that is, in Jesus.” ⁵ On hearing this, they were baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus; ⁶ And when Paul laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke in tongues and prophesied. ⁷ There were about twelve men in all. ⁸ Then Paul went into the synagogue and spoke boldly there for three months, arguing persuasively about the kingdom of God. ⁹ But when some of them stubbornly refused to believe and publicly maligned the Way, Paul took his disciples and left the synagogue to conduct daily discussions in the lecture hall of Tyrannus. ¹⁰ This continued for two years so that all the Jews and Greeks [ i.e., Gentiles] who lived in [the province of] Asia heard the message of the Lord.

¹ When the uproar had ended, Paul sent for the disciples. After he had encouraged them, he said goodbye to them and left for Macedonia. ² After traveling through that area and speaking many words of encouragement, he arrived in Greece, ³ where he stayed three months. And when the Jews formed a plot against him as he was about to sail for Syria, he decided to go back through Macedonia.

⁶ I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you to the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel. ⁷ which is not even a gospel. Evidently some people are troubling you and trying to distort the gospel of Christ.

¹⁴ Then we will no longer be infants, tossed about by the waves and carried around by every wind of teaching and by the clever cunning of men in their deceitful scheming.

²⁴ Still, I am confident in the Lord that I myself will come soon.

⁶ Therefore, just as you have received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in Him, ⁷ rooted and built up in Him, established in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness. ⁸ See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, which are based on human tradition and the spiritual forces of the world rather than on Christ. ⁹ For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity dwells in bodily form. ¹⁰ And you have been made complete in Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority. ¹¹ In Him you were also circumcised by the putting off of the body of the sins of the flesh, not with a circumcision done by hands but with the circumcision of the Christ,

⁶ Suggesting these things to the brethren, you will be a good minister of Christ Jesus, nourished in the words of the faith and of the good teaching which you have strictly followed;

¹¹ Command and teach these things.

⁷ Continue to give these instructions, so that they may be blameless.

³ If anyone teaches another doctrine and disagrees with the sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ and with godly teaching,

¹⁰ For the love of money is a root of all sorts of evil, and some by longing for it have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.

¹⁷ Charge the rich of this world not to be arrogant, nor to set their hopes on such an uncertain thing as riches, but on God who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.

⁹ He must be devoted to the trustworthy message that agrees with what we teach, so that he may be able to encourage others with healthy doctrine and refute those who oppose it. ¹⁰ For there are many rebellious people, idle talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision, ¹¹ They must be silenced, for such men upset whole households by teaching things they ought not to teach, for the sake of dishonest gain.

⁷ For many deceivers, who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh, have gone out into the world. Any such person is the deceiver and the antichrist.

⁹ Anyone who runs ahead and does not abide in the teaching of Christ does not have God; he who abides in the teaching has both the Father and the Son. ¹⁰ If any one comes to you and does not bring this Teaching, do not receive him into your house or welcome him;

¹ To the angel of the church in Ephesus write: These are the words of Him who holds the seven stars in His right hand and walks among the seven golden lampstands. ² I know about your deeds, your hard work and your perseverance. [I know] that you cannot tolerate wicked men and that you have tested those who call themselves apostles, but really are not, and found them to be liars.

¹⁴ But I have a few things against you: you have some there who hold the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to put a stumbling block before the sons of Israel, to eat food sacrificed to idols and to practice sexual immorality.

²⁰ But I have this against you: You tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess. By her teaching she misleads My servants to be sexually immoral and to eat food sacrificed to idols.

¹² And this is our boast: Our conscience testifies that we have conducted ourselves in the world, and especially in relation to you, in the holiness and sincerity that are from God—not in worldly wisdom, but in the grace of God.

⁹ And now I rejoice, not because you were made sorrowful, but because your sorrow led you to repentance. For you felt the sorrow that God had intended, and so were not harmed in any way by us. ¹⁰ Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation without regret, but worldly sorrow brings death.

¹² in order to fit his people for the work of service, for building the body of Christ, ¹³ until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God, as we mature to the full measure of the stature of Christ. ¹⁴ Then we will no longer be infants, tossed about by the waves and carried around by every wind of teaching and by the clever cunning of men in their deceitful scheming. ¹⁵ rather, speaking the truth in love, let us in all things grow up into Him who is the Head, Christ; ¹⁶ From Him the whole body is fitted and held together by every supporting ligament. And as each individual part does its work, the body grows and builds itself up in love.

¹⁶ By common confession, the mystery of godliness is great: He appeared in the flesh, was vindicated by the Spirit, was seen by angels, was proclaimed among the nations, was believed in throughout the world, was taken up in glory.

⁷ Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives' tales; rather, train yourself in godliness.

³ If anyone teaches another doctrine and disagrees with the sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ and with godly teaching, ⁴ he is conceited and understands nothing. Instead, he has an unhealthy interest in controversies and semantics, out of which come envy, strife, abusive talk, evil suspicions, ⁵ and constant friction between men of depraved mind and deprived of the truth, who imagine that godliness is a means of gain.

¹¹ But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness.

²⁰ O Timothy, guard what has been entrusted to you. Avoid godless chatter and the opposing ideas of what is falsely called knowledge,

¹⁴ Remind them of these things, charging them before the Lord not to dispute about words, useful for nothing, for the ruin of the hearers.

¹⁶ But avoid worldly, empty chatter, for those who practice it will become more and more ungodly, ¹⁷ and their talk will spread like gangrene. Among them are Hymenaeus and Philetus, ¹⁸ who have gone astray from the truth. They say that the resurrection has already taken place, and upset the faith of some.

²² Flee the lusts of youth; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

⁴ So they will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.

¹ Paul, a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ, for the faith of God's elect and the knowledge of the truth which leads to godliness,

¹⁴ and will pay no attention to Jewish myths or to the commands of men who reject the truth.

⁹ But avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and arguments and quarrels about the Law; for they are unprofitable and worthless.

⁹ Do not be carried away by all kinds of strange teachings, for it is good for the heart to be strengthened by grace and not by ceremonial foods, which are of no value to those devoted to them.

¹⁶ For we did not follow cleverly devised tales when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty.

⁴ He that has clean hands, and a pure heart; who has not lifted up his soul to vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.

¹⁰ Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.

¹⁴ "O Jerusalem, wash the evil from your heart so that you may be saved. How long will your wicked thoughts lodge within you?

⁸ Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.

³⁵ The good man brings good things out of his good store of treasure, and the evil man brings evil things out of his evil store of treasure.

²⁸ Now one of the scribes had come up and heard their debate. Noticing how well Jesus had answered them, he asked Him, “Which commandment is the most important of all?” ²⁹ Jesus answered: The first is, Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. ³⁰ And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.' ³¹ A second is this, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no commandment greater than these." ³² “Right, Teacher,” the scribe replied. “You have stated correctly that God is One and there is no other but Him, ³³ To love him with all your heart, with all your understanding, and with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself is more important than all the burnt offerings and sacrifices." ³⁴ And when Jesus saw that he answered wisely, he said to him: You are not far from the kingdom of God. And after that no one dared to ask him any more questions.

⁹ He made no distinction between us and them, for he cleansed their hearts by faith.

¹ Paul looked directly at the Sanhedrin and said, “Brothers, I have conducted myself before God in all good conscience to this day.”

¹⁶ Therefore I strive always to have a clear conscience before God and men.

¹ I speak the truth in Christ. I am not lying. My conscience testifies for me in the Holy Spirit

⁴ For Christ is the end of the law, so that there may be righteousness for every one who believes.

⁸ Be in debt to no man — apart from the debt of love one to another. He who loves his fellow-man has fulfilled the law. ⁹ The commandments “Do not commit adultery,” “Do not murder,” “Do not steal,” “Do not covet,” and any other commandments, are summed up in this one decree: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” ¹⁰ Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.

¹⁵ If your brother is distressed by what you eat, you are no longer acting in love. Do not by your eating destroy your brother, for whom Christ died.

¹ Now about food sacrificed to idols: We know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up. ² The one who thinks he knows something does not yet know as he ought to know. ³ But the one who loves God is known by God.

¹ If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a ringing gong or a clanging cymbal.

¹ Earnestly pursue love and eagerly desire spiritual gifts, especially the gift of prophecy.

⁶ For in Christ Jesus, neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. All that matters is faith, expressed through love.

¹³ For you, brothers, were called to freedom; but do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh. Rather, serve one another in love. ¹⁴ The entire Law is fulfilled in a single decree: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”

²² But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

¹⁹ Holding on to faith and a good conscience; which some have rejected and so shipwrecked their faith:

⁹ They should keep holding on to the deep truths of the faith with a clear conscience.

³ I thank God, whom I serve as my forefathers did, with a pure conscience, as without ceasing I remember you night and day in my prayers.

⁵ I am reminded of your sincere faith, which first dwelt in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice, and I am convinced is in you as well.

¹⁵ To the pure, all things are pure; but to those who are corrupted and unbelieving, nothing is pure, but both their minds and consciences are corrupted.

¹⁴ how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself unblemished to God, purify our consciences from works of death, so that we may serve the living God!

²² let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.

⁵ By faith Enoch was taken up so that he did not see death. He could not be found, because God had taken him away. For before he was taken, he was commended as one who pleased God. ⁶ And without faith it is impossible to please God, for anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

¹⁸ Pray for us, for we are sure that we have a clear conscience and desire to live honorably in every way.

⁸ Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double minded.

²² Since you have purified your souls by obedience to the truth, so that you have a genuine love for your brothers, love one another deeply, from a pure heart.

¹⁶ and keep a clear conscience, so that, when you are abused, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame.

²¹ And this water symbolizes the baptism that now saves you—not the removal of dirt from the body, but the pledge of a clear conscience toward God. It saves you through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

⁸ Above all, love one another deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.

⁷ and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love.

³ And everyone who has this hope in him purifies himself, just as he is pure.

²³ And this is his commandment: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus the Messiah, and to love one another as he commanded us.

⁷ Beloved, let us love one another, because love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. ⁸ Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. ⁹ This is how God’s love was revealed among us: God sent His one and only Son into the world, so that we might live through Him. ¹⁰ In this is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son as the atoning sacrifice for our sins. ¹¹ Dear friends, if God has so loved us, we also ought to love one another. ¹² No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us. ¹³ We know that we live with him and he with us, because he has given us of his Spirit. ¹⁴ And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent His Son to be the Savior of the world.

¹⁵ For some widows have already turned away to follow Satan.

²⁰ O Timothy, guard what has been entrusted to you. Avoid godless chatter and the opposing ideas of what is falsely called knowledge, ²¹ which some have professed and in so doing have wandered from the faith. Grace be with you.

¹⁸ who have gone astray from the truth. They say that the resurrection has already taken place, and upset the faith of some.

²³ Don't have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know that they produce quarrels. ²⁴ And the Lord's servant must not be quarrelsome, but he must be kind to everyone, able to teach, patient when wronged,

¹⁰ for Demas, having loved this present world, has deserted me and gone to Thessalonica. Crescens has gone to Galatia, and Titus to Dalmatia.

¹⁰ For there are many rebellious people, idle talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision,

¹³ And so the LORD declares, "These people draw near to me with their mouths, and honor me with their lips, but their hearts remain distant from me. Their fear of me consists of commands dictated by men. ¹⁴ therefore, behold, I will go on doing among this people, a wonder, even a wonder. For the wisdom of their wise ones shall perish, and the understanding of their intelligent ones shall be hidden.

⁸ How can you say, "We are wise, and the law of the LORD is with us?" But, look, the false pen of the scribes has worked falsely. ⁹ The wise men will be put to shame. They'll be dismayed and taken captive. Look, they have rejected the word of the LORD! So what kind of wisdom do they have?

¹⁴ Disregard them! They are blind guides. If a blind man leads a blind man, both will fall into a pit.”

²⁷ So they answered Jesus, "We do not know." And he said to them, "Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.

¹⁶ Woe to you, blind guides! You say, ‘If anyone swears by the temple, it means nothing; but if anyone swears by the gold of the temple, he is bound by his oath.’ ¹⁷ You blind fools! Which is greater: the gold, or the temple that makes it sacred? ¹⁸ And you say, ‘If anyone swears by the altar, it means nothing; but if anyone swears by the gift on it, he is bound by his oath.’ ¹⁹ You blind men! For which is greater, the gift or the altar that makes the gift sacred? ²⁰ Therefore, he who swears by the altar swears by it and by everything on it. ²¹ And he who swears by the temple swears by it and by the One who dwells in it. ²² And he who swears by heaven swears by God’s throne and by the One who sits on it. ²³ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You pay tithes of mint, dill, and cumin, but you have disregarded the weightier matters of the Law: justice, mercy, and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former. ²⁴ You blind guides! You strain out a gnat but swallow a camel.

⁹ “How can this be?” Nicodemus asked. ¹⁰ “You are Israel’s teacher,” said Jesus, “and you do not understand these things?

⁴⁰ Some of the Pharisees who were with Him heard this, and they asked Him, “Are we blind too?” ⁴¹ “If you were blind,” Jesus replied, “you would not be guilty of sin. But since you claim you can see, your guilt remains.”

¹ Then some men came down from Judea and were teaching the brothers, “Unless you are circumcised according to the custom of Moses, you cannot be saved.”

²² Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools,

¹⁹ if you are convinced that you are a guide for the blind, a light for those in darkness, ²⁰ an instructor of the foolish, a teacher of infants, because you have in the Law the embodiment of knowledge and truth— ²¹ you, then, who teach others, do you not teach yourself? You who preach against stealing, do you steal?

² I would like to learn just one thing from you: Did you receive the Spirit by works of the Law, or by hearing with faith?

⁵ Does God supply you with the Spirit and work miracles among you because you do the actions of the law or because you believe what you heard?

²¹ Tell me, you who want to be under the Law, do you not understand what the Law says?

³ Again I testify to every man who gets himself circumcised that he is obligated to obey the whole Law. ⁴ You who are trying to be justified by the Law have been severed from Christ; you have fallen away from grace.

⁴ he is conceited and understands nothing. Instead, he has an unhealthy interest in controversies and semantics, out of which come envy, strife, abusive talk, evil suspicions,

⁷ Ever learning, but never able to acknowledge the truth.

¹² But these, speaking evil of the things that they do not understand (as natural animals without reason, who are made to be taken and destroyed), shall utterly perish in their own corruption,

⁶ Observe them carefully, for this will show your wisdom and discernment in the eyes of people who'll listen to all these decrees. Then they'll say: 'Surely this great nation is a wise and discerning people.' ⁷ For what great nation is there, that has a god so near to them, as the LORD our God is whenever we call on him? ⁸ And what other great nation has for it just rules and regulations just like this whole law that I am setting before you today?

¹³ "You came down also on Mount Sinai, and spoke with them from heaven, and gave them right ordinances and true laws, good statutes and commandments,

⁷ The law of the LORD is perfect, refreshing the soul, The testimonies of the LORD are stedfast, Making wise the simple, ⁸ The precepts of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart; the commands of the LORD are pure, giving light to the eyes. ⁹ The fear of the LORD is clean, standing forever. The judgments of the LORD are true; they are altogether righteous. ¹⁰ They are more precious than gold, even much fine gold, and sweeter than honey and drops from the honeycomb.

⁹⁶ Of all perfection I saw a limit; thy command is very broad. ⁹⁷ O How I love your law! It is my meditation all day long. ⁹⁸ Your commands make me wiser than my enemies, because they are ever with me. ⁹⁹ I have more insight than all my teachers, for your laws are my meditation. ¹⁰⁰ I have more common sense than the elders, for I observe your precepts. ¹⁰¹ I have kept my feet from every evil way, so that I might keep Your Word. ¹⁰² I have not departed from your judgments: for you have taught me. ¹⁰³ How sweet are your words to my taste! Sweeter than honey to my mouth! ¹⁰⁴ I obtain understanding from your precepts; therefore I hate every false way. ¹⁰⁵ NUN Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path.

¹²⁷ Therefore I love your commandments more than gold, yes, more than pure gold. ¹²⁸ Therefore I consider all of your precepts to be right. I hate every false way.

¹² So then, the Law is holy, and the commandment is holy, righteous, and good. ¹³ Did that which is good, then, become death to me? Certainly not! But in order that sin might be exposed as sin, it produced death in me through what was good, so that through the commandment sin might become utterly sinful.

¹⁶ Now if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good.

¹⁸ I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my flesh; for I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out.

²² For in my inner being I delight in God’s Law.

² Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.

²¹ Is the Law, then, opposed to the promises of God? Not at all! For if a law had been given that could impart life, then righteousness would certainly have come from the Law.

⁵ And if a person competes as an athlete, he is not awarded the victor’s crown unless he competes according to the rules.

⁵ "I will require your lifeblood as an accounting. I will demand an accounting from every animal. I will demand an accounting from each man for the life of his fellow man. ⁶ Whoever sheds man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed. For in the image of God he made man.

¹³ You shall not murder.

¹⁴ »If a man schemes and kills a man deliberately remove him from my altar and put him to death.

⁹ For he who curses his father or his mother will surely be put to death. He has cursed his father or his mother; his blood will be upon him.

³⁰ " 'If anyone kills a person, the killer will be put to death according to the testimony of witnesses, but someone cannot die on testimony of one person. ³¹ And you shall take no ransom for the life of a murderer who is guilty of death. But he shall surely be put to death. ³² “'You shall take no ransom for him who has fled to his city of refuge, that he may come again to dwell in the land before the death of the priest. ³³ “'So you shall not pollute the land where you live; for blood pollutes the land. No atonement can be made for the land, for the blood that is shed in it, but by the blood of him who shed it.

⁶ All the elders of the city nearest the dead body shall wash their hands over the heifer whose neck was broken in the valley, ⁷ And shall say: Our hands did not shed this blood, nor did our eyes see it. ⁸ Make atonement for your people Israel, whom you have redeemed, LORD, and don't charge the blood of an innocent man against them.' Then the blood shed will be atoned for. ⁹ "Remove the guilt of innocent blood from your midst. Do what is right in the eyes of the LORD's.

¹⁶ Cursed is he who dishonors his father or his mother! And all the people shall say, Amen!

¹¹ David said to Abishai, and to all his servants, "Look, my son, who came forth from my bowels, seeks my life. How much more this Benjamite, now? Leave him alone, and let him curse; for the LORD has invited him.

¹ Later Ahithophel said to Absalom: »Let me choose twelve thousand men. Tonight I will set out after David. ² and I will come upon him when he is weary and weak-handed, and I will strike him with terror; and all the people with him shall flee, and I will smite the king only of all. ³ and I will bring back all the people to you. The man whom you seek is as if all returned, so all the people will be in peace. ⁴ The saying pleased Absalom well, and all the elders of Israel.

³⁷ And he will be worshiping in the house of Nisroch his god, and Adrammelech and Sharezer struck him with the sword: and they escaped to the land of Ararat: and Esarhaddon his son will reign in his stead.

²¹ The LORD sent an angel, who cut off all the mighty men of valor, and the leaders and captains, in the camp of the king of Assyria. So he returned with shame of face to his own land. When he had come into the house of his god, some of his own offspring killed him there with the sword.

²⁰ He who curses his father or his mother, his lamp will be put out in obscure darkness.

¹⁷ A man who is tormented by life blood will be a fugitive until death; no one will support him.

²⁴ Whoever robs his father or his mother, and says, "It's not wrong." He is a partner with a destroyer.

¹¹ There is a generation that curse their father, and do not bless their mother.

¹⁷ The eye that mocks his father, and rejects obedience to his mother, the ravens of the valley pick it out, and the young eagles eat it.

¹¹ "For both prophet as well as priest are godless, even in my temple I have found their wickedness," declares the LORD.

²⁵ And as for you, profane one, wicked prince of Israel, whose day has come with the time of the punishment of the end,

²¹ Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; children will rise against their parents and have them put to death.

³⁰ slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant, and boastful. They invent new forms of evil; they disobey their parents.

¹³ For not through law was the promise to Abraham, or to his seed, that he should be heir of the world, but through the righteousness of faith.

²⁰ The Law was given so that the trespass would increase; but where sin increased, grace increased all the more,

¹⁴ For sin shall not be your master, because you are not under law, but under grace.

¹⁰ All who rely on works of the Law are under a curse. For it is written: “Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law.” ¹¹ And it is clear that no one is justified before God by the Law, because, “The righteous will live by faith.” ¹² The Law, however, is not based on faith; on the contrary, “The one who does these things will live by them.” ¹³ Christ redeemed us from the curse of the Law by becoming a curse for us. For it is written: “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree.” ¹⁴ He redeemed us so that the blessing promised to Abraham would come to the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit.

¹⁹ Why then was the Law given? It was added because of transgressions, until the arrival of the seed to whom the promise referred. It was administered through angels by a mediator.

²¹ and envy; drunkenness, carousing, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

²³ gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

⁸ And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will slay with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendor of his coming.

¹⁶ They profess to know God, but by their actions they disown Him; they are detestable, disobedient, and useless for anything good.

³ For at one time we too were foolish, disobedient, misled, enslaved to all sorts of desires and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.

³¹ By faith the prostitute Rahab, because she welcomed the spies in peace, did not perish with those who were disobedient.

¹⁶ See to it that no one is sexually immoral, or is godless like Esau, who sold his birthright for a single meal.

⁷ To you who believe, then, this stone is precious. But to those who do not believe, “The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone,”

²⁰ who disobeyed long ago when God waited patiently in the days of Noah, while the ark was being built. In the ark a few people, only eight souls, were saved through water.

¹⁸ And, “If it is hard for the righteous to be saved, what will become of the ungodly and the sinner?”

⁸ But to the cowardly and unbelieving and abominable and murderers and sexually immoral and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their place will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur. This is the second death.”

¹⁵ Outside are the dogs, the sorcerers, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.

⁵ They called to Lot, and said to him, "Where are the men who came in to you this night? Bring them out to us, that we may have sex with them."

²⁷ "Let us sell him to the Ishmaelites. Let us not hurt him, because he is our brother, our own flesh and blood." His brothers agreed.

¹⁵ For I was, stolen, out of the land of the Hebrews,—and, even here, had I done nothing, that they should have put me in the dungeon,

⁷ “You shall not misuse the name of the LORD your God, for the LORD will not hold him guiltless who misuses his name.

¹⁶ Anyone who kidnaps someone and sells him, or if he is found in his hand, he shall surely be put to death.

²² You shall not lie with a man, as with a woman. That is detestable.

¹³ And a man who lies with a male as one lies with a woman, both of them have done a detestable thing; they shall certainly be put to death; their blood shall be on them.

⁷ "If a man is caught kidnapping somebody from among his countrymen, the Israelites, and he treats him as a slave or he sells him, then that kidnapper shall die, and so you shall purge the evil from among you.

¹⁶ As truly as I live, sayeth the LORD God, he shall die at Babylon: in the place where the king dwelleth, that made him king, whose oath he hath despised, and whose covenant he hath broken. ¹⁷ Pharaoh with his mighty army and great company won't help him in the war, when they cast up mounds and build forts, to cut off many persons. ¹⁸ Seeing he despised the oath by breaking the covenant, when, see, he had given his hand, and has done all these things, he shall not escape. ¹⁹ “Therefore the Sovereign LORD says: 'As I live, I will surely bring on his own head my oath that he has despised and my covenant that he has broken.

¹ Hear the word of the LORD, O children of Israel, for the LORD has an indictment against the inhabitants of the land. There is no faithfulness or loyalty, there is no knowledge of God in the land. ² There is cursing, lying, murder, stealing, and committing adultery; they break boundaries, and bloodshed causes bloodshed.

⁴ They make promises, swearing falsely in making covenants. Therefore judgment springs up like poisonous weeds in the furrows of the field.

⁴ I will cause it to go out," says the LORD of hosts, "and it will enter into the house of the thief, and into the house of him who swears falsely by my name; and it will remain in the midst of his house, and will destroy it with its timber and its stones."

¹⁷ Do not devise evil in your hearts against your neighbor, and do not love a false oath, because all these are things I hate," declares the LORD.

⁵ I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against the perjurers, and against those who oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and who deprive the foreigner of justice, and do not fear me," says the LORD of hosts.

³³ Again, you have heard that it was said to the ancients, ‘Do not break your oath, but fulfill your vows to the Lord.’ ³⁴ But I tell you not to swear at all: either by heaven, for it is God’s throne; ³⁵ or by the earth, for it is his footstool; or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the Great King. ³⁶ And do not swear by your head, for you cannot make even one hair white or black. ³⁷ Simply let your 'Yes' be 'Yes,' and your 'No,' 'No'; anything more than this comes from evil.

²¹ For from within the hearts of men come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, ²² Greed, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, haughtiness, folly;

⁴⁴ You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out his desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, refusing to uphold the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, because he is a liar and the father of lies.

²⁶ For this reason God gave them over to dishonorable passions. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones.

⁹ Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who submit to or perform homosexual acts, ¹⁰ nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.

¹⁹ The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity, and debauchery; ²⁰ Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, strife, jealousy, fits of rage, selfishness, dissensions, factions, ²¹ and envy; drunkenness, carousing, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

³ But among you, as is proper among the saints, there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality or impurity or greed. ⁴ Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk, or crude joking, which are out of character, but rather thanksgiving. ⁵ For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure, or greedy person (that is, an idolater), has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. ⁶ Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on the sons of disobedience.

¹³ Hold the pattern of sound words that thou heard from me, in faith and love in Christ Jesus.

³ For the time will come when men will not tolerate sound doctrine, but with itching ears they will gather around themselves teachers to suit their own desires.

⁹ He must be devoted to the trustworthy message that agrees with what we teach, so that he may be able to encourage others with healthy doctrine and refute those who oppose it.

¹³ This testimony is true. Therefore rebuke them sternly, so that they will be sound in the faith,

¹ But you must teach what accords with sound doctrine: ² Older men are to be temperate, worthy of respect, self-controlled, sound in faith, in love, and in endurance.

⁴ Marriage should be honored by all and the marriage bed kept undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers.

⁷ So also, in a similar way, Sodom and Gomorrah, and their surrounding towns, which had abandoned themselves to sexual immorality and [sexually] perverted behavior, serve as an example [of people] who [will] suffer the punishment of never ending fire.

¹³ cargoes of cinnamon and spice, of incense, myrrh and frankincense, of wine and olive oil, of fine flour and wheat; cattle and sheep; horses and chariots; and slaves and human souls.

²⁷ But nothing impure shall enter into it, nor shall any man who commits shameful acts, or who lies: but only those whose names are written in the Lamb's book of life.

² I will bow down toward Your holy temple, and give thanks to Your Name for Your grace and for Your truth; for You have exalted above all things your name and your word.

¹⁰ But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid! For behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people: ¹¹ Today in the City of David a Savior has been born to you. He is Christ the Lord!

¹⁴ “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom His favor rests!”

¹⁶ This will come to pass on that day when God will judge men’s secrets through Christ Jesus, as proclaimed by my gospel.

¹ So then, men ought to regard us as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God. ² Now it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.

⁸ will not the ministry of the Spirit be even more glorious? ⁹ For if the ministry of condemnation was glorious, how much more glorious is the ministry of righteousness! ¹⁰ For that which was glorified had no glory, in comparison of this excelling glory. ¹¹ For if what was fading away came with glory, how much greater is the glory of that which endures!

⁴ The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers so they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

⁶ For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made His light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

¹⁸ All this is from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: ¹⁹ that God was reconciling the world to Himself in Christ, not counting men’s trespasses against them. And He has committed to us the message of reconciliation. ²⁰ So then, we are Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God!

⁷ On the contrary, they saw that I had been entrusted to preach the gospel to the Gentiles, just as Peter had been to the Jews.

⁶ to the praise of His glorious grace, which He has freely given us in the Beloved One.

¹² in order that we, who were the first to hope in Christ, would be for the praise of his glory.

⁷ in order that in the coming ages, he might show the surpassing riches of his grace in kindness upon us in Christ Jesus.

¹⁰ His purpose was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms,

²⁵ I became its servant by the commission God gave me to fully proclaim to you the word of God,

⁴ Instead, we speak as those approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, not in order to please men but God, who examines our hearts.

¹⁵ Which he will bring about in his own time, he who is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;

¹¹ For this gospel I was appointed a preacher and an apostle and a teacher.

¹⁴ Guard the good treasure entrusted to you, with the help of the Holy Spirit who dwells in us.

² And the things you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.

¹¹ trying to determine the time and setting to which the Spirit of Christ in them was pointing when He predicted the sufferings of Christ and the glories to follow. ¹² It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves but you, when they foretold the things now announced by those who preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven. Even angels long to look into these things.

²³ that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him.

²² But Saul grew more and more powerful, and bewildered the Jews who lived in Damascus by his proofs that Jesus was the Christ.

¹⁵ And when she and her household had been baptized, she urged us, “If you consider me a believer in the Lord, come and stay at my house.” And she persuaded us.

²⁵ Now about virgins, I have no command from the Lord, but I give a judgment as one who by the Lord’s mercy is trustworthy.

¹⁰ But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace to me was not in vain. No, I worked harder than all of them—yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me.

⁵ Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim that anything comes from us, but our competence comes from God. ⁶ who has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

¹ Therefore, since we have received mercy along with this ministry, we do not lose heart.

⁹ But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest on me. ¹⁰ That is why, for Christ's sake, I am content in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties; for when I am weak, then I am strong.

¹¹ and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

¹³ I can do anything through him who gives me strength.

¹¹ that agrees with the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which he entrusted to me.

¹⁷ But the Lord stood at my side and gave me strength, so that through me the message might be fully proclaimed and all the Gentiles might hear it. And I was rescued from the lion's mouth.

⁹ They sang a new song: "You are worthy to take the scroll and open its seals, because you were slaughtered. With your blood you purchased people for God from every tribe, language, people, and nation. ¹⁰ You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God, and they will reign on the earth." ¹¹ And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels about the throne, and about the beasts and the elders, and I heard thousand thousands, ¹² In a loud voice they said: “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing!” ¹³ And I heard every creature in heaven, and on earth, and under the earth, and in the sea, and all that is in them, saying: “To Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, be praise and honor and glory and power forever and ever.” ¹⁴ The four living creatures said, "Amen," and the elders fell down and worshiped.

¹⁰ They cried out in a loud voice, "Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the lamb!" ¹¹ And all the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures; and they fell on their faces before the throne and worshipped God, ¹² saying, "Amen! Praise and glory, and wisdom and thanksgiving, and honor and power and strength be to our God forever and ever. Amen!"

³⁰ But the one who acts presumptuously from among the native or alien blasphemes against the LORD, and that person must be cut off from the midst of the people.

²³ I will plant my people in the land for myself. I will show mercy on her who has received no mercy I will say to those who are not my people, 'You are my people!' and they will say, 'You are my God.'"

⁴⁷ That servant who knows his master’s will but does not get ready or follow his instructions will be beaten with many blows.

³⁴ And Jesus said: Father, forgive them. For they do not know what they do. And they divided up his clothes by casting lots.

³⁹ Then Jesus declared, “For judgment I have come into this world, so that the blind may see and those who see may become blind.”

¹⁷ And now, brothers, I know that you acted in ignorance, as did your leaders.

³ But Saul began to destroy the church. Going from house to house, he dragged off men and women and put them in prison.

¹ Meanwhile, Saul was still breathing out threats of murder against the Lord’s disciples. He went to the high priest

⁵ “Who are You, Lord?” Saul asked. “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting,” He replied.

¹³ But Ananias answered, “Lord, many people have told me about this man and all the harm he has done to Your saints in Jerusalem.

⁴ I persecuted this Way even to the death, detaining both men and women and throwing them into prison,

⁹ So then, I too was convinced that I ought to do all I could to oppose the name of Jesus of Nazareth. ¹⁰ And that is what I did in Jerusalem. With authority from the chief priests I put many of the saints in prison, and when they were condemned to death, I cast my vote against them. ¹¹ I frequently had them punished in the synagogues and tried to make them blaspheme. In my raging fury against them, I even went to foreign cities to persecute them.

²⁰ The Law was given so that the trespass would increase; but where sin increased, grace increased all the more, ²¹ so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness, to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

³⁰ Just as you were once disobedient to God but now have received mercy because of their disobedience, ³¹ so they too have now disobeyed, in order that they too may now receive mercy through the mercy shown to you.

⁹ For I am the least of the apostles and am not sufficient to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.

¹³ For you have heard of my former way of life in Judaism, how intensely I persecuted the church of God and tried to destroy it;

⁶ as to zeal persecuting the church, as to the righteousness of the Law blameless.

¹⁶ But for this very reason I was shown mercy, so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display His perfect patience, as an example to those who would believe in Him for eternal life.

¹⁶ Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

⁴ It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, ⁵ who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age— ⁶ and then have fallen away—to be restored again to repentance, because they themselves are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting Him to open shame. ⁷ Land that drinks in the rain often falling on it and that produces a crop useful to those for whom it is tended receives the blessing of God. ⁸ But land that produces thorns and thistles is worthless, and its curse is imminent. In the end it will be burned.

²⁶ If we deliberately go on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no further sacrifice for sins remains, ²⁷ but only a terrifying prospect of judgment and a raging fire that will consume the enemies of God. ²⁸ Anyone who rejected the Law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. ²⁹ How much more severely do you think one deserves to be punished who has trampled on the Son of God, profaned the blood of the covenant that sanctified him, and insulted the Spirit of grace?

¹⁰ Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.

²¹ It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness than to know it and turn their backs on the holy commandment that was committed to them. ²² Of them the proverbs are true: “A dog returns to its vomit,” and, “A sow that is washed goes back to her wallowing in the mud.”

⁶ And the LORD passed over before him, and he proclaimed, "the LORD, the LORD, God, who is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding with loyal love and faithfulness,

⁶ Seek the LORD while he may be found. Call on him while he is near. ⁷ Let the wicked forsake his way and the evil man his thoughts. Let him turn to the LORD, and he will have mercy on him, and to our God, for he will freely pardon.

⁴⁷ Therefore I tell you, because her many sins have been forgiven, she has loved much. But he who has been forgiven little loves little.” ⁴⁸ Then Jesus said to her, “Your sins are forgiven.” ⁴⁹ The other guests began to say to themselves, "Who is this that even forgives sins?" ⁵⁰ Jesus said to the woman, Your faith has saved you; go in peace.

¹¹ On the contrary, we believe it is through the grace of the Lord Jesus that we are saved, just as they are.”

¹⁵ But the gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died by the trespass of the one man, how much more did God’s grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, abound to the many! ¹⁶ Again, the gift is not like the result of the one man’s sin: The judgment that followed one sin brought condemnation, but the gift that followed many trespasses brought justification. ¹⁷ For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive an abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ! ¹⁸ The result of one trespass was condemnation for all men. The result of righteousness was justification (acquittal), which brings life for all men. ¹⁹ For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous. ²⁰ The Law was given so that the trespass would increase; but where sin increased, grace increased all the more,

²⁰ The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

⁹ For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, so that you through His poverty might become rich.

¹⁴ May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with you all.

⁷ In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; ⁸ that He lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding.

³ and continually recalling before our God and Father your work of faith, your labor of love, and your enduring hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.

⁸ But let us, who belong to the Day, control ourselves, and put on faith and love as a breast plate, and the hope of Salvation as a helmet.

¹⁰ In this is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son as the atoning sacrifice for our sins.

²¹ The grace of the Lord Jesus be with God's people.

⁶ Therefore I despise myself and repent in dust and ashes."

⁶³ '"I will forgive all the wrongs you have done, but you will remember them and be too ashamed to open your mouth.' The Sovereign LORD has spoken."

³¹ "'Then you will remember your evil ways and the bad things that you did. You will hate yourselves for all these wicked and disgusting things. ³² "'I want you to know that I am not doing this for your sake,' proclaims the Sovereign LORD. 'Be ashamed and disgraced because of your ways, people of Israel.'

²¹ She will give birth to a son, and you shall give Him the name Jesus, because He will save His people from their sins.”

¹³ But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

¹⁰ See that you do not look down on any of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven.

²⁸ just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."

¹⁷ On hearing this, Jesus told them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

³² I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance."

¹⁰ For the Son of Man came, to seek and to save what was lost.

¹² But to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God

²⁹ The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, "Look, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!

¹⁶ For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. ¹⁷ For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.

³⁶ Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life. Whoever rejects the Son will not see life. Instead, the wrath of God remains on him.”

⁴⁷ As for anyone who hears My words and does not keep them, I do not judge him. For I have not come to judge the world, but to save the world.

²⁶ When God raised up His servant, He sent Him first to you to bless you by turning each of you from your wicked ways.”

¹ The apostles and brothers throughout Judea soon heard that the Gentiles also had received the word of God.

¹⁸ When they heard this, their objections were put to rest, and they glorified God, saying, “So then, God has granted even the Gentiles repentance unto life.”

²⁴ and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, ²⁵ God presented Him as an atoning sacrifice through faith in His blood, in order to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance He had passed over the sins committed beforehand. ²⁶ He did this to demonstrate His righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and to justify the one who has faith in Jesus.

⁶ For at just the right time, while we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly.

⁸ But God demonstrates his own love for us, in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us. ⁹ Therefore, since we have now been justified by His blood, how much more shall we be saved from wrath through Him! ¹⁰ For if, when we were enemies of God, we were reconciled to Him through the death of His Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through His life!

⁸ Though I am less than the least of all the saints, this grace was given me: to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ,

¹³ Even though I was formerly a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent aggressor, I was shown mercy because I acted ignorantly in unbelief;

¹ This is a trustworthy saying: If anyone aspires to be an overseer, he desires a noble task.

⁹ This is a trustworthy saying that deserves complete acceptance.

¹¹ Here is a trustworthy saying: if we died with him, we will also live with him;

⁸ This teaching is trustworthy, and I want you to insist on these things, so that those who have believed in God may be careful to devote themselves to good works. These things are excellent and profitable for people.

²⁵ Therefore He is able to save completely those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to intercede for them.

⁵ And you know that He appeared that He might take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin.

⁸ He who commits sin is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil.

⁹ This is how God’s love was revealed among us: God sent His one and only Son into the world, so that we might live through Him. ¹⁰ In this is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son as the atoning sacrifice for our sins.

¹¹ And this is that testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.

⁹ They sang a new song: "You are worthy to take the scroll and open its seals, because you were slaughtered. With your blood you purchased people for God from every tribe, language, people, and nation.

⁵ Then He who was seated on the throne said, "See! I am making everything new." He continued, "Write this, for these words are trustworthy and true."

⁶ And he said to me, "These words are trustworthy and true. And the Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets, has sent his angel to show his servants the things which must soon take place."

⁸ And Moses bowed himself to the earth quickly, and worshipped,

³ And Balaam said to Balak, Stand by your burnt offering and I will go. Perhaps the LORD will come to meet me and whatever he shows me I will tell you. And he went to a bare height.

⁹ And Manasseh made Judah and the people of Jerusalem to err, to do worse than the nations whom the LORD had destroyed before the sons of Israel. ¹⁰ the LORD spoke to Manasseh and his people. But they would not pay attention. ¹¹ So the LORD made the army commanders of the king of Assyria invade Judah. They took Manasseh captive, put a hook in his nose, put him in bronze shackles, and brought him to Babylon. ¹² But, in his distress, he appeased the face of the LORD his God,—and humbled himself greatly, before the God of his fathers; ¹³ And prayed unto him: and he received his entreaty, and heard his supplication, and brought him again to Jerusalem into his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that the LORD was God.

¹⁹ And his prayer, and how he responded to him, all his sin and his unfaithful acts, and the places where he built the high places and set up Asherahs and idols before he humbled himself, behold, they are written in the words of the seers.

¹¹ For the sake of your name, LORD, forgive my sin, for it is great.

¹⁸ "Come now, and let us reason together," says the LORD: "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow. Though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

²⁵ I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions for my own sake; and I will not remember your sins.

⁷ Let the wicked forsake his way and the evil man his thoughts. Let him turn to the LORD, and he will have mercy on him, and to our God, for he will freely pardon.

⁴⁷ Therefore I tell you, because her many sins have been forgiven, she has loved much. But he who has been forgiven little loves little.”

¹⁰ In the same way, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents."

¹³ But the tax-collector stood at a distance and would not even lift his eyes to heaven, but continued to beat his breast, and say, 'O God, have mercy on me, a sinner!' ¹⁴ I tell you, this man, rather than the Pharisee, went home justified. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted.”

⁷ But when they saw this, everyone began to mutter that he had gone to be the guest of a sinner. ⁸ Now Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, Behold, Lord, I give half of my possessions to the poor, and if I have cheated anyone of anything, I repay them quadruple. ⁹ Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because this man too is a son of Abraham.

⁴³ Jesus said to him, "I tell you truly to-day you will be with me in Paradise."

¹⁵ that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life. ¹⁶ For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

²⁴ Truly, truly, I tell you, whoever hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life and will not come under judgment. Indeed, he has crossed over from death to life.

³⁷ All that the Father gives me will come to me, and him who comes to me I will not cast away;

⁴⁰ For it is My Father’s will that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in Him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.”

⁵⁴ Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.

³¹ But these are written, that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God: and that believing, you may have life in his name.

³⁹ Through Him everyone who believes is justified from everything you could not be justified from by the Law of Moses.

⁴ Or do you disregard the riches of His kindness, tolerance, and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness leads you to repentance? ⁵ But because of your hard and unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of wrath, when God’s righteous judgment will be revealed.

²³ For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

⁴ For everything that was written in the past was written for our instruction, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures, we might have hope.

¹⁰ on the day He comes to be glorified in His saints and regarded with wonder by all who have believed, including you who have believed our testimony.

⁹ The Lord is not slow to fulfill His promise as some understand slowness, but is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

¹⁵ Consider also that our Lord’s patience brings salvation, just as our beloved brother Paul also wrote you with the wisdom God gave him.

¹¹ And this is that testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. ¹² He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.

¹¹ Yours, O Lord, is the strength and the power and the glory, and the authority and the honour: for everything in heaven and on earth is yours; yours is the kingdom, O Lord, and you are lifted up as head over all.

⁵ Then the Levites, Jeshua, Kadmiel, Bani, Hashabneiah, Sherebiah, Hodiah, Shebaniah and Pethahiah said, Stand up and bless the LORD your God from everlasting to everlasting! Blessed be Your glorious name, which is exalted above all blessing and praise!

¹⁶ The LORD is king forever and ever; nations will perish from his land.

¹³ Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting. Amen and Amen.

¹ My heart overflows with a noble theme. I recite my verses for the king. My tongue is like the pen of a skillful writer.

⁶ Your throne, O God, is forever and ever. A scepter of uprightness is the scepter of your kingdom.

⁶ Sing praises to God, sing praises: sing praises to our King, sing praises. ⁷ For God is the king of all the earth; sing a psalm for edification. ⁸ God is king over the nations; God is seated on his holy throne.

¹¹ Be exalted, O God, above the heavens. Let your glory be over all the earth.

¹⁸ Praise be to the LORD God, the God of Israel, who alone does marvelous deeds. ¹⁹ Blessed be to his glorious name forever. May the whole earth be filled with his glory. Amen and amen!

² Before the mountains were born and you brought forth the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, you are God.

⁴⁸ Thanks be to the LORD the God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting. Let all the people say amen. Praise the LORD!

¹³ Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom. Your dominion endures throughout all generations. the LORD is faithful in all his words, and loving in all his deeds.

¹⁰ But the LORD is the true God, he is the living God, and an everlasting king. Because of his wrath the earth quakes, and the nations cannot endure his anger.

⁴⁴ “In the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which will never be destroyed, nor will its sovereignty be left to another people; but it will break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it will stand forever.

³⁴ "At the end of the days I, Nebuchadnezzar, lifted up my eyes to heaven and my understanding returned to me. I blessed the Most High and I praised and honored the one who lives forever. His dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom from generation to generation.

³⁷ Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and exalt and honor the King of heaven, all whose works are truth and His ways judgment. And those who walk in pride He is able to humble.

¹⁴ And there was given him dominion and glory and a kingdom, that all the peoples, nations and languages should serve him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion, which will not pass away and his kingdom is one that will not be destroyed.

² But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, being small among the clans of Judah, out of you one will come out to me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings out are from of old, from ancient times.

¹⁴ "Cursed is the one who cheats, who has in his flock a male and vows it, but instead sacrifices a blemished one to the Lord! For I am a great king," says the LORD of hosts, "and my name is awesome among the nations."

¹³ And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’

³⁴ Then the King will say to those at His right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father, take possession of the kingdom prepared for you from the creation of the world.

²⁰ and teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

¹⁸ No one has seen God at any time. The only Son, who is at the Father's side, has made him known.

²⁰ For since the creation of the world his invisible attributes, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made. So they are without excuse.

²³ and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles.

⁷ To those who by perseverance in doing good seek glory, honor, and immortality, He will give eternal life.

³⁶ For from him, and through him, and to him are all things. To him be the glory for ever! Amen.

²⁷ to the only wise God be glory forever through Jesus Christ! Amen.

²⁰ Now to Him who is able to do infinitely more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, ²¹ to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations for ever and ever: Amen.

¹⁵ He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.

¹⁵ Which he will bring about in his own time, he who is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings, and Lord of lords; ¹⁶ who alone has immortality, residing in unapproachable light; whom no man has seen or can see; to whom be honor and eternal power. Amen.

⁸ But about the Son He says: “Your throne, O God, will last forever and ever, and righteousness will be the scepter of Your kingdom. ⁹ You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, Your God, has placed You above Your companions by anointing You with the oil of joy.” ¹⁰ And, "In the beginning, Lord, you laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands. ¹¹ They will perish, but You remain; They will all wear out like a garment. ¹² You will roll them up like a robe; like a garment they will be changed; but You remain the same, and Your years will never end.” ¹³ But to which of the angels did he ever say, "Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet"?

²⁷ By faith Moses left Egypt, not fearing the king’s anger; he persevered because he saw Him who is invisible.

¹¹ To him be the power forever and ever. Amen.

¹⁸ But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and forever. Amen.

¹² No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us.

⁸ And each of the four living creatures had six wings and was covered with eyes all around and within. Day and night they never stop saying: “Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come!” ⁹ When the living creatures give glory, honor, and thanks to him who sits on the throne, to him who lives forever and ever, ¹⁰ the twenty-four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne and worship him who lives for ever and ever; they cast their crowns before the throne, saying, ¹¹ You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for you have created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.

¹² saying, "Amen! Praise and glory, and wisdom and thanksgiving, and honor and power and strength be to our God forever and ever. Amen!"

³ and they sang the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, "Great and marvelous are your deeds, O Lord God the Almighty! Just and true are your ways, O King of the ages!

¹⁴ These will make war with the Lamb and the Lamb will overcome them because he is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those called and chosen and faithful with him.

¹ After this I heard a sound like the roar of a great multitude in heaven, shouting: “Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God!

⁶ Then I heard what sounded like the voice of a great multitude, like the sound of many waters and like the sound of mighty peals of thunder, crying, "Hallelujah! For the Lord our God the Almighty reigns.

¹⁶ and on his robe and on his thigh he has this name written-- 'KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.'

³ For though we live in the flesh, we do not wage war as the flesh does. ⁴ The weapons of our warfare are not the weapons of the world. Instead, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.

¹² For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this world’s darkness, and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. ¹³ Therefore put on the full armour of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to withstand it; and after you have done everything, to stand firm. ¹⁴ Stand firm then, with the belt of truth fastened around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness arrayed, ¹⁵ and with your feet fitted with the readiness of the gospel of peace. ¹⁶ In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. ¹⁷ Take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. ¹⁸ Pray in the Spirit at all times, with every kind of prayer and petition. To this end, stay alert with all perseverance in your prayers for all the saints.

²² But you know that he has proved his worth, because as a son with his father he has served with me in the work of the gospel.

² To Timothy, my true son in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God our Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.

¹¹ that agrees with the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which he entrusted to me. ¹² I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength, because he considered me faithful, appointing me to his service.

⁴ For everything God created is good, and nothing should be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving,

¹⁴ Do not neglect the gift you have, which was given you through prophetic utterance when the council of elders laid their hands on you.

¹² Fight the good fight of the faith; take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. ¹³ I charge you in the sight of God, who gives life to all things, and of Christ Jesus, who in his testimony before Pontius Pilate made the good confession; ¹⁴ to keep this commandment without spot, blameless until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ,

¹ You then, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. ² And the things you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also. ³ Endure hardship with me as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. ⁴ No one serving in the military gets mixed up in civilian matters, for his aim is to please his commanding officer. ⁵ And if a person competes as an athlete, he is not awarded the victor’s crown unless he competes according to the rules.

¹ I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of His appearing and His kingdom: ² preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; correct, rebuke, and exhort, with great patience and instruction. ³ For the time will come when men will not tolerate sound doctrine, but with itching ears they will gather around themselves teachers to suit their own desires.

⁷ I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

¹⁰ I appeal to you for my child Onesimus, whose father I became while I was in chains.

²⁷ Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his lifespan?

¹⁹ And indeed, there must be differences among you to show which of you are approved.

⁶ I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you to the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel. ⁷ which is not even a gospel. Evidently some people are troubling you and trying to distort the gospel of Christ. ⁸ But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be under a divine curse!

⁴ You who are trying to be justified by the Law have been severed from Christ; you have fallen away from grace.

¹⁸ For as I have often told you before, and now declare even with tears: Many live as enemies of the cross of Christ. ¹⁹ Their destiny is destruction, their god is their belly, and their glory is in their shame. Their minds are set on worldly things.

⁵ Now the goal of that command is love, out of a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith;

¹ Now the Spirit expressly states that in later times some will abandon the faith to follow deceitful spirits and the teachings of demons, ² through the pretensions of liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron,

⁹ But those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a snare and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction.

²¹ which some have professed and in so doing have wandered from the faith. Grace be with you.

¹ Mark this, there are hard times coming in the last days. ² People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, ³ unloving, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, ⁴ Treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God; ⁵ having a form of godliness but denying its power. And turn away from these. ⁶ They are the kind of people who enter homes and influence [morally] weak-willed women, loaded down with sins, [and] led on by all kinds of evil desires.

¹⁴ We have come to share in Christ if we hold firmly to the end the assurance we had at first.

⁴ It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, ⁵ who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age— ⁶ and then have fallen away—to be restored again to repentance, because they themselves are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting Him to open shame.

¹⁵ But in your hearts sanctify Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to articulate a defense to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But respond with gentleness and respect, ¹⁶ and keep a clear conscience, so that, when you are abused, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame.

¹ Now there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies that even deny the Master who bought them, bringing swift destruction on themselves. ² Many will follow their immoral ways, and as a result, the way of the truth will be maligned. ³ And in their greed they will exploit you with false words; from long ago their condemnation has not been idle, and their destruction has not been asleep.

¹² But these, speaking evil of the things that they do not understand (as natural animals without reason, who are made to be taken and destroyed), shall utterly perish in their own corruption, ¹³ The harm they will suffer is the wages of their wickedness. They consider it a pleasure to carouse in broad daylight. They are blots and blemishes, reveling in their deception as they feast with you. ¹⁴ They have eyes full of adultery, that never cease from sin; they entice unstable souls. They have hearts trained in greed. Accursed children! ¹⁵ They have left the straight way and wandered off to follow the way of Balaam son of Bosor, who loved the wages of wickedness. ¹⁶ but he was rebuked for his own transgression by a donkeya beast without speechwho spoke with a man's voice and restrained the prophet's madness. ¹⁷ These men are springs without water and mists driven by a storm. Blackest darkness is reserved for them. ¹⁸ With lofty but empty words, they appeal to the sensual passions of the flesh and entice the ones who are just escaping from those who live in error. ¹⁹ They promise them freedom, while they themselves are slaves to corruption. For a man is a slave to whatever has overcome him. ²⁰ For if, after they have escaped the defilements of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled by them, and overcome, they are worse off in the end than at the beginning.

¹⁹ They went out from us, but they did not belong to us. For if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us. But their departure made it clear that none of them belonged to us.

¹⁰ But these speak abusively against whatever they do not understand, while whatever they know by instinct, like unreasoning animals—by these things they are ruined. ¹¹ Woe to them! They have traveled the path of Cain; they have rushed headlong into the error of Balaam; they have perished in Korah’s rebellion. ¹² These are breakers at your love-feasts, feasting with you without fear, feeding themselves, clouds without water driven about by winds, autumnal trees without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots, ¹³ They are wild waves of the sea, foaming up their own shame; wandering stars, for whom blackest darkness has been reserved forever.

³ Remember therefore what you have received and heard; keep it, and repent. But if you will not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what hour I will come upon you.

⁸ I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word, and have not denied my name.

¹⁰ Because you have kept My command to endure with patience, I will also keep you from the hour of testing that is about to come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.

¹⁷ If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church. And if he refuses to listen even to the church, regard him as you would a pagan or a tax collector.

⁴⁵ But when the Jews saw the crowds, they were filled with jealousy, and they blasphemously contradicted what Paul was saying.

³³ Then the Jews pushed Alexander forward, out from the crowd. So Alexander motioned with his hand and would have made a defense to the people.

⁴ When you are gathered in the name of our Lord Jesus and I am with you in spirit, along with the power of the Lord Jesus, ⁵ hand this man over to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, so that his spirit may be saved on the day of the Lord.

³² But when we are judged by the Lord, we are being disciplined so that we will not be condemned with the world.

⁶ And we will be ready to punish every act of disobedience, as soon as your obedience is complete.

¹⁰ This is why I write these things while absent, so that when I am present I will not need to be severe in my use of the authority that the Lord gave me for building you up, not for tearing you down.

¹⁵ Yet do not regard him as an enemy, but warn him as a brother.

¹⁷ and their talk will spread like gangrene. Among them are Hymenaeus and Philetus,

² People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy,

¹⁴ Alexander, the metal-worker, did me a great deal of harm. The Lord will repay him for what he did. ¹⁵ You also guard against him, because he strongly opposed our words.

¹⁹ Those I love, I rebuke and discipline. Therefore be earnest and repent.

¹ And the dragon stood on the shore of the sea. And I saw a beast coming out of the sea. He had ten horns and seven heads, with ten diadems on his horns, and on his heads were blasphemous names.

⁵ It was allowed to utter great boasts and blasphemies, and to exert authority for forty-two months. ⁶ He opened his mouth to blaspheme God, to slander his name, and his dwelling place, and those who live in heaven.
