² To Timothy, my true son in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God our Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.

¹ Now he went to Derbe and Lystra too. At Lystra there was a disciple named Timothy, whose mother was a Christian Jewess, but his father was a Greek. ² The brothers at Lystra and Iconium spoke well of him. ³ Paul wanted to have him go out with him, and he took and circumcised him because of the Jews who were in those parts; for they all knew that his father was a Greek.

⁷ To all in Rome who are loved by God and called to be saints: Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

¹⁴ I am not writing this to shame you, but to warn you as my beloved children. ¹⁵ Even if you have ten thousand guardians in Christ, you do not have many fathers; for in Christ Jesus I became your father through the gospel. ¹⁶ Therefore I urge you to imitate me. ¹⁷ That is why I have sent you Timothy, my beloved and faithful child in the Lord. He will remind you of my way of life in Christ Jesus, which is exactly what I teach everywhere in every church.

³ Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ,

¹⁹ I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you soon, that I also may be cheered when I receive news of you. ²⁰ I do not have anyone else like him who takes a genuine interest in your welfare. ²¹ For everyone else is looking out for his own interests, not for those of Jesus Christ. ²² But you know that he has proved his worth, because as a son with his father he has served with me in the work of the gospel.

² We sent Timothy, our brother and God’s fellow worker in the gospel of Christ, to strengthen and encourage you in your faith,

¹⁸ Timothy, my child, I am instructing you in keeping with the prophecies made earlier about you, so that by following them you may continue to fight the good fight

² to Timothy, my dear child. Grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.

¹ You then, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.

⁴ To Titus, my true child in our common faith: Grace and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Savior.
