²⁶ Saul also went to his house to Gibeah and with him the valiant men whose hearts God had touched.

²⁸ and Zelah, Eleph, and Jebusi (it [is] Jerusalem), Gibeath, Kirjath:fourteen cities and their villages. This [is] the inheritance of the sons of Benjamin, for their families.

¹² His master said to him, We won't go into the city of a foreigner whose people are not Israelites; we will go on to Gibeah. ¹³ "We will pass by and go a little farther and spend the night at Gibeah or Ramah." ¹⁴ So they went on and towards evening they were near Gibeah, which belongs to Benjamin. ¹⁵ They stopped there to spend the night in Gibeah. They went in and sat down in the street, because no-one took them into his house for the night. ¹⁶ In the evening there came an old man from his work in the field. He was from the hill country of Ephraim and he lived in Gibeah, but the men of the place were Benjamites.

¹⁴ The Benjamites gathered together out of their cities to Gibeah to go out to fight against the Israelites.

⁴ Then the messengers came to Gibeah of Saul and reported these words to the people, and they all wept aloud.

³⁴ Then Samuel went to Ramah, and Saul went up to his house in Gibeah of Saul.

⁶ let seven men of his sons be delivered to us, and we will hang them up to the LORD in Gibeah of Saul, the chosen of the LORD." The king said, "I will give them."

⁵ Then the heads of fathers of Judah and Benjamin and the priests and the Levites, even all whose spirit God had stirred, rose up to go up to build the house of the LORD which is in Jerusalem.

³ Your people will volunteer in the day of your power. In holy splendor, from the womb of the dawn, you will have the dew of your youth.
