¹² And Solomon sat on the throne of his father David, and his kingdom was firmly established.

¹² When your days are full and you lie down with your ancestors, I will raise up your offspring after you who will go out from your body, and I will establish his kingdom. ¹³ It is he who shall build a house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom for ever.

²⁹ Now therefore let it please you to bless the house of your servant, that it may continue everlasting before you, for you, O Sovereign LORD, have spoken it. And with your blessing let the house of your servant be blessed forever.

⁴⁶ »Solomon is seated on the royal throne.

²³ So Solomon sat on the throne of the LORD as king in the place of his father David. He prospered, and all of Israel obeyed him. ²⁴ And all the officials and mighty warriors, and also all the sons of King David, pledged allegiance to King Solomon. ²⁵ The LORD magnified Solomon exceedingly in the sight of all Israel, and bestowed on him such royal majesty as had not been on any king before him in Israel.

¹ And Solomon the son of David made himself strong over his kingdom, and the LORD his God was with him, and made him exceedingly great.

⁸ He shall also rule from sea to sea, and from the River to the ends of the earth. ⁹ The dwellers in the desert shall bow before him, and his enemies shall lick the dust. ¹⁰ The kings of Tarshish and of the isles will bring tribute (presents). The kings of Sheba and Seba will offer gifts. ¹¹ Yes, all kings will bow down before him. All nations will serve him. ¹² For he will deliver the needy who crieth, and the afflicted, who hath no helper; ¹³ He will have pity on the poor and needy, he will save the needy persons. ¹⁴ He will redeem their soul from oppression and violence; And precious will their blood be in his sight: ¹⁵ And he shall live, and the gold of Sheba shall be given to him. Men shall pray for him continually. He shall bless him all day long. ¹⁶ Abundance of grain shall be throughout the land. Its fruit sways like Lebanon. Let it flourish, thriving like the grass of the field. ¹⁷ His name endures forever, his name continues as long as the sun. Men shall be blessed in him, all nations will call him blessed. ¹⁸ Praise be to the LORD God, the God of Israel, who alone does marvelous deeds. ¹⁹ Blessed be to his glorious name forever. May the whole earth be filled with his glory. Amen and amen! ²⁰ This ends the prayers by David, the son of Jesse.

³⁶ His offspring will endure forever, and his throne as the sun before me. ³⁷ It will be established forever like the moon, the faithful witness in the sky." Selah.
