He removed them from his sight. Only the tribe of Judah kept its place.

2 Chronicles 25:14-15

14 After Amaziah came back from defeating the Edomites, he brought the gods of the people of Seir, set them up as his gods, bowed down to them, and burned sacrifices to them. 15 And the anger of the LORD burned against Amaziah, and he sent a prophet to him; and he said to him, Why have you sought the gods of the people that have not delivered their people out of your hand?

Psalms 106:34-39
