¹⁴ For yf they which are of the lawe be heyres then is fayth but vayne and the promes of none effecte.

¹² But yf her husbande disanulled them ye same daye that he herde them then nothing that proceded out of her lippes in vowes ad boundes wherewith she bounde her soule shall stonde in effecte: for her husbande hath lowsed them and the Lorde shall forgeue her.

¹⁵ And yf he afterwarde breake them he shall beare her synne him self.

³¹ Do we then destroye the lawe thorow fayth? God forbid. But we rather mayntayne the lawe.

¹⁶ Therfore by fayth is the inheritauce geven that it myght come of faveour: and the promes myght be sure to all the seed. Not to them only which are of the lawe: but also to them which are of the fayth of Abraham which is the father of vs all.

²¹ I despyse not the grace of God. For if rightewesnes come of the lawe then Christ dyed in vayne.

¹⁸ For yf the inheritaunce come of the lawe it cometh not of promes. But God gave it vnto Abraham by promes. ¹⁹ Wherfore then serveth ye lawe? The lawe was added because of transgression (tyll the seed cam to which ye promes was made) and it was ordeyned by angels in ye honde of a mediator. ²⁰ A mediator is not a mediator of one. But God is one. ²¹ Ys the lawe then agaynst ye promes of God? God forbid. How be it yf ther had bene a lawe geve which coulde have geven lyfe: then no doute rightewesnes shuld have come by ye lawe. ²² But ye scripture concluded all thinges vnder synne yt the promes by the fayth of Iesus Christ shuld be geve vnto them yt beleve. ²³ Before yt fayth cam we were kept and shut vp vnder the lawe vnto the fayth which shuld afterwarde be declared. ²⁴ Wherfore the lawe was oure scolemaster vnto the tyme of Christ yt we might be made rightewes by fayth.

⁴ Ye are gone quyte fro Christ as many as are iustified by the lawe and are fallen from grace.

⁹ and myght be founde in him not havynge myne awne rightewesnes which is of the lawe: But that which spryngeth of the fayth which is in Christ. I meane the rightewesnes which cometh of God thorowe fayth

¹⁹ For the lawe made nothynge parfecte: but was an introduccion of a better hope by which hope we drawe nye vnto god.

²⁸ For the lawe maketh men prestes which have infirmitie: but the worde of the othe that came fence ye lawe maketh the sonne prest which is parfecte for ever more.
