³ how shall we escape, if we neglect so great a salvation, which was first published by the Lord, and confirmed for us by them who heard him,

² Behold! my God is my Saviour, I will trust in him and not be afraid. Because the Lord is my glory and my praise; and hath become unto me salvation;

⁶ And in that day the inhabitants of this country will say, "Behold we trusted to flee for help to them, who were unable to deliver themselves from the king of Assyria: how then shall we escape?

⁵ My deliverance is approaching speedily, and my salvation shall go forth as light; and on mine arm nations will rely. The islands will expect me and on mine arm they will rely.

⁸ For they are like a garment which shall be worn out by time, and like woollens which shall be devoured by a moth; but my saving mercy shall endure forever, and my salvation to generations of generations.

¹¹ For lo! the Lord hath published this to the end of the earth. Say to the daughter of Sion, Behold the Saviour is come for thee, having his own reward and his work before him.

¹⁵ Now should he revolt from him so as to send his ambassadors to Egypt, that it may furnish him with horses and a great army, shall he prosper? Shall he who is perfidious escape? And shall he who breaketh a covenant be delivered?

¹⁸ As he hath dishonoured an oath, by breaking a covenant, [when lo! he had given his hand] and hath done all these things to him, he shall not escape.

¹⁷ From that time Jesus began to make proclamation and say, "Reform; for the reign of the heavens is at hand."

³³ Serpents! brood of vipers! how can you escape the punishment of hell?

¹⁴ And after John's imprisonment, Jesus went to Galilee, proclaiming the glad tidings of the reign of God,

¹⁵ Then he said to them, Go to all the world, and proclaim the glad tidings to all mankind. ¹⁶ He who believeth, and is baptized, shall be saved; but he who disbelieveth shall be condemned. ¹⁷ Now these signs shall accompany them who believe; by my name they will expel demons; they will speak with new tongues: ¹⁸ they will take up serpents: though they drink deadly poison, it shall not hurt them: upon sick persons they will lay their hands, and they shall recover. ¹⁹ So after the Lord had spoken to them, he was taken up to heaven, and sat at the right hand of God; ²⁰ and they went forth and proclaimed the tidings every where, the Lord co-operating with them, and confirming the word with those concomitant signs.

² as they who were from the beginning eye witnesses, and are ministers of the word, have delivered them to us;

⁶⁹ He indeed hath raised up for us a horn of salvation in the house of his servant David

¹⁹ And he said, What things? They answered him, Those respecting Jesus, the Nazarene, who was a great prophet, mighty in miracles and doctrine before God and all the people

⁴⁷ and that for his name reformation and remission of sins should be proclaimed to all the nations, beginning at Jerusalem. ⁴⁸ Now you are witnesses of these things.

¹⁶ For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him may not perish, but have everlasting life. ¹⁷ For God did not send his son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world may be saved by him. ¹⁸ He who believeth in him will not be condemned; but he who believeth not, is condemned already; because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten son of God.

²⁷ And as for you, bear ye witness also, because you have been with me from the beginning.

²² beginning from the baptism of John to the day on which he was taken up from us, should be a witness with us of his resurrection.

²² "Men of Israel hear these words Jesus the Nazarene, a man from God, pointed out to you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God performed by him among you, as you yourselves know.

¹² This cure indeed is by no other, nor is there any other name under heaven given among men by which we can be saved."

⁴⁰ even him God raised up the third day, and granted him to become manifest, ⁴¹ not to all the people, but to witnesses who were preappointed by God; to us who have eaten, and drunk with him after he arose from the dead. ⁴² And he commanded us to proclaim to the people and testify that he is the one determinately pointed out by God to be the judge of the living and the dead.

³ And dost thou imagine, O man, who judgest them who commit such things and dost the same thyself, that thou shall escape the judgment of God?

³ For whilst they are saying, there is peace and safety, sudden destruction is then upon them, like the pangs of a woman in travail, and they cannot escape.

¹⁵ This is a faithful word and worthy of all acceptation, That Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners of whom I am a chief;

¹¹ For the favour of God which is for salvation hath been brightly displayed for all men

² hath in these last days spoken to us by a son whom he hath constituted heir of all things, by whom also he made the ages;

¹ Let us therefore be afraid, lest having a promise left of entering into His Rest any of us should fall short of it.

¹¹ Let us therefore use all diligence to enter into This Rest, that none may fall short by a like example of disobedience.

⁹ and being consecrated became the author of everlasting salvation to all who obey him,]

²⁵ So that he is completely able to save them, who come to God by him, as he is ever alive to intercede for them. ²⁶ For it suited us to have such a chief priest"one holy, innocent, undefined, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens,

²⁸ Whoever hath set at naught the law of Moses dieth without mercy, on the evidence of two or three witnesses. ²⁹ Of how much greater punishment, think ye, will he be thought worthy, who hath trampled upon the Son of God, and accounted the blood of the covenant, by which he was sanctified, a common thing, and treated contemptuously the spirit of grace?

²⁵ See that you do not reject him who speaketh. For if they did not escape who rejected him who gave forth oracles on earth, how much less shall we who reject him who is from heaven,

¹⁷ For the time is come when judgment is to begin at the house of God. And if it begin first with us, what must be the end of them who disregard the glad tidings of God? ¹⁸ "If the righteous scarcely escapeth, where shall the ungodly and sinner appear?"

¹⁶ saying to the mountains and the rocks, "Fall upon us, and hide us from the face of him who is sitting on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb, ¹⁷ for the great day of His wrath is come and who is able to stand?"

¹⁰ and they cried with a loud voice, saying, "To our God who is sitting on the throne and to the Lamb be ascribed this salvation!"
