³ Remember them who are in bonds, as if you were bound with them; them who suffer ill treatment, as being yourselves in the body.

¹⁴ But think of me by thy own case, when it shall be well with thee; and do me the favour to mention me to Pharao and release me from this prison. ¹⁵ For I have been stolen from the land of the Hebrews; and here I have done nothing, yet they have thrown me into this dungeon.

²³ Yet the chief butler made no mention of Joseph, but passed him over in oblivion.

³ and they informed me that the remnant of the captivity who were left, were in that country in great affliction and reproach, and that the walls of Jerusalem continued demolished, and that the gates thereof were burned with fire. ⁴ Upon hearing this report, I sat down and wept and mourned some days, fasting and praying before the God of heaven,

⁷ But when Abdemelech, the Ethiopian, who was in the king's family, heard that they had put Jeremias in the dungeon, as the king was at the gate of Benjamin, ⁸ he went out to him and spoke to the king, and said, ⁹ Thou hast done wrong in ordering this man to be put to death out of the way of the famine, for there is no bread in the city. ¹⁰ Thereupon the king gave orders to Abdemelech, saying, Take hence with thee thirty men and draw him up out of the dungeon, that he may not die. ¹¹ So Abdemelech took the men and went to the king's house, into the cellar, and took thence old rags and old ropes and threw them down to Jeremias into the dungeon, ¹² and said, Put those under the ropes. And when Jeremias had done so, ¹³ they drew him up with the ropes out of the dungeon. And Jeremias abode in the court of the prison.

³⁶ naked, and you clothed me; sick, and you took care of me; I was in prison, and you visited me.

⁴³ I was a stranger, and you did not lodge me; naked, and you did not clothe me; sick, and in prison, and you did not visit me.

²⁹ Thereupon, calling for lights, he ran in, and being in a tremour, prostrated himself before Paul and Silas, ³⁰ and having brought them out, said, O sirs, What must I do to be saved? ³¹ And they said, Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, thou and thy household. ³² Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him, and to all that were in his house. ³³ And he taking them that very hour of the night, washed their stripes; and he and all his family were immediately baptized. ³⁴ Then conducting them up to his house, he spread a table and rejoiced with all his family for having believed in God.

²³ And he gave orders to the centurion that Paul be kept in custody, not closely confined; and that none of his friends be hindered from assisting him or coming to him.

³ And on the next day we touched at Sidon, where Julius, who treated Paul with great humanity, suffered him to go to his friends and enjoy the benefit of their care.

¹⁵ Set your hearts on this with respect to each other"to rejoice with them who rejoice, and to weep with them who weep.

²⁶ so that if one member suffereth, all the rest suffer with it; and if one member is honoured, all the rest rejoice with it.

¹ Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, do you, who are spiritual, set such a one right again, with a spirit of meekness, keeping an eye on thyself, lest thou also be tempted. ² Bear one another's burdens and so fulfil the law of the Christ.

¹ I, therefore, the prisoner for the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the call with which you have been called,

¹⁴ Notwithstanding this you did well in assisting me in my distress. ¹⁵ Now you, Philippians, yourselves know, that at the beginning of the glad tidings when I was departing from Macedonia, no congregation communicated with me in respect to giving and receiving, but you only ¹⁶ that when I was at Thessalonica you sent once and again to supply my want. ¹⁷ Not that I desire a gift, but I wish for the fruit which aboundeth to your account. ¹⁸ Now I have all things and abound. I am fully supplied, having received your presents by Epaphroditus, a fragrant odour, a sacrifice acceptable, well pleasing to God. ¹⁹ And my God will supply all your wants, according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

¹⁸ The salutation of me Paul with my own hand. Remember my bonds. The favour be with you. Amen.

¹⁶ The Lord grant mercy to the household of Onesiphorus, because he often refreshed me and was not ashamed of this chain of mine; ¹⁷ but when he was at Rome, sought me out diligently and found me. ¹⁸ The Lord grant him to find mercy from the Lord in that day! Indeed, on how many occasions he ministered to me at Ephesus, thou thyself knowest very well.

³⁴ For you sympathized with me in my bonds, and waited with joy the seizure of your goods, knowing that you had in yourselves a better,"even an ever-during substance in heaven.
