¹ Woe to her that is filthy and polluted, to the oppressing city! ² She did not obey the voice; she did not receive correction; she did not trust in the LORD; she did not draw near to her God. ³ Her princes within her are roaring lions; her judges are evening wolves; they do not gnaw the bones until the next day. ⁴ Her prophets are light and treacherous persons: Her priests have polluted the sanctuary, they have done violence to the law. ⁵ The just LORD is in the midst of it; He will not do iniquity: Every morning He brings His judgment to light, He does not fail; but the unjust knows no shame.Every morning: In Hebrew, Morning by morning ⁶ "I have cut off the nations: Their towers are desolate; I made their streets waste, that none passes by: Their cities are destroyed, so that there is no man, that there is no inhabitant. ⁷ I said, 'Surely you will fear Me, you will receive instruction'; so their dwelling should not be cut off, in whatever manner I punished them: But they rose early, and corrupted all their doings. ⁸ Therefore wait upon Me", says the LORD, "until the day that I rise up to the prey: For My determination is to gather the nations, that I may assemble the kingdoms, to pour upon them My indignation, even all My fierce anger: For all the earth shall be devoured with the fire of My jealousy. ⁹ For then I will turn the people to a pure language, that they may all call upon the name of the LORD, to serve Him with one consent. ¹⁰ From beyond the rivers of Ethiopia My humble petitioners, even the daughter of My dispersed, shall bring My offering. ¹¹ In that day you shall not be ashamed for all your doings, in which you have transgressed against Me: For then I will take away out of the midst of you those that rejoice in your pride, and you shall no longer be haughty because of My holy mountain. ¹² I will also leave an afflicted and poor people in the midst of you, and they shall trust in the name of the LORD. ¹³ The remnant of Israel shall not do iniquity, nor speak lies; neither shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth: For they shall feed and lie down, and no one shall make them afraid. ¹⁴ Sing, O daughter of Zion; shout, O Israel; be glad and rejoice with all the heart, O daughter of Jerusalem. ¹⁵ The LORD has taken away your judgments, He has cast out your enemy: The King of Israel, even the LORD, is in the midst of you: You shall not see evil any more. ¹⁶ In that day it shall be said to Jerusalem, "Fear not": And to Zion, "Let not your hands be slack. ¹⁷ The LORD your God is mighty in the midst of you; He will save, He will rejoice over you with joy; He will rest in His love, He will joy over you with singing." ¹⁸ "I will gather those that are sorrowful on account of the solemn assembly, who are among you, to whom the reproach of it was a burden. ¹⁹ Behold, at that time I will undo all those that afflict you: And I will save her that limps, and gather her that was driven out; and I will get them praise and fame in every land where they have been put to shame. ²⁰ At that time I will bring you back again, even in the time that I gather you: For I will make you a name and a praise among all people of the earth, when I turn back your captivity before your eyes", says the LORD.

¹⁶ And he shall pluck away his crop with his feathers, and cast it beside the altar on the east part, by the place of the ashes:

⁷ For the vineyard of the LORD of hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah His pleasant plant: And He looked for judgment, but behold oppression; for righteousness, but behold a cry.

¹² Therefore thus says the Holy One of Israel, "Because you despise this word, and trust in oppression and perverseness, and rely on them:

¹³ in transgressing and lying against the LORD, and departing away from our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood.

⁶ For thus has the LORD of hosts said, "Hew down trees, and cast a mount against Jerusalem: This is the city to be visited; she is wholly oppression in the midst of her.

¹⁷ But your eyes and your heart are not but for your covetousness, and to shed innocent blood, and for oppression, and for violence, to do it.

⁷ In you they have set light by father and mother: In the midst of you they have dealt with the stranger by oppression: In you they have vexed the fatherless and the widow.

²⁹ The people of the land have used oppression, and exercised robbery, and have vexed the poor and needy: Yes, they have oppressed the stranger wrongfully.

³⁰ I will do these things to you, because you have gone a whoring after the heathen, and because you are polluted with their idols.

⁹ Publish in the palaces at Ashdod, and in the palaces in the land of Egypt, and say, 'Assemble yourselves upon the mountains of Samaria, and behold the great tumults in their midst, and the oppressed in the midst of it.

¹ Hear this word, you cows of Bashan, that are in the mountain of Samaria, which oppress the poor, which crush the needy, which say to their masters, "Bring forth, and let us drink."

² And they covet fields, and take them by violence; and houses, and take them away: So they oppress a man and his house, even a man and his heritage.oppress; or, defraud

¹⁰ And do not oppress the widow, nor the fatherless, the stranger, nor the poor; and let none of you imagine evil against his brother in your heart.'

⁵ And I will come near to you to decree judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers, and against those that oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and that turn aside the stranger from his rights, and do not fear Me", says the LORD of hosts.

¹⁵ But it shall come to pass, if you will not hearken to the voice of the LORD your God, to observe to do all His commandments and His statutes which I command you this day; that all these curses shall come on you, and overtake you: ¹⁶ Cursed shall you be in the city, and cursed shall you be in the field. ¹⁷ Cursed shall be your basket and your store. ¹⁸ Cursed shall be the fruit of your body, and the fruit of your land, the increase of your cows, and the flocks of your sheep. ¹⁹ Cursed shall you be when you come in, and cursed shall you be when you go out. ²⁰ The LORD shall send on you cursing, vexation, and rebuke, in all that you set your hand to for to do, until you be destroyed, and until you perish quickly; because of the wickedness of your doings, by which you have forsaken me. ²¹ The LORD shall make the pestilence stick to you, until he have consumed you from off the land, where you go to possess it. ²² The LORD shall smite you with a consumption, and with a fever, and with an inflammation, and with an extreme burning, and with the sword, and with blasting, and with mildew; and they shall pursue you until you perish. ²³ And your heaven that is over your head shall be brass, and the earth that is under you shall be iron. ²⁴ The LORD shall make the rain of your land powder and dust: From heaven it shall come down upon you, until you are destroyed. ²⁵ The LORD shall cause you to be smitten before your enemies: You shall go out one way against them, and flee seven ways before them: And shall be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth. ²⁶ And your carcass shall be meat to all fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth, and no man shall fray them away. ²⁷ The LORD will smite you with the botch of Egypt, and with the tumors, and with the scab, and with the itch, whereof you cannot be healed. ²⁸ The LORD shall smite you with madness, and blindness, and astonishment of heart: ²⁹ And you shall grope at noonday, as the blind gropes in darkness, and you shall not prosper in your ways: And you shall be only oppressed and spoiled ever more, and no man shall save you. ³⁰ You shall betroth a wife, and another man shall lie with her: You shall build a house, and you shall not dwell in it: You shall plant a vineyard, and shall not gather its grapes. ³¹ Your ox shall be slain before your eyes, and you shall not eat of it: Your donkey shall be violently taken away from before your face, and shall not be restored to you: Your sheep shall be given to your enemies, and you shall have none to rescue them. ³² Your sons and your daughters shall be given to another people, and your eyes shall look, and fail with longing for them all the day long; and there shall be no might in your hand. ³³ The fruit of your land, and all your labors, shall a nation which you know not eat up; and you shall be only oppressed and crushed always: ³⁴ So that you shall be mad for the sight of your eyes which you shall see. ³⁵ The LORD shall smite you in the knees, and in the legs, with a sore botch that cannot be healed, from the sole of your foot to the top of your head. ³⁶ The LORD shall bring you, and your king which you shall set over you, to a nation which neither you nor your fathers have known; and there you shall serve other gods, wood and stone. ³⁷ And you shall become an astonishment, a proverb, and a byword, among all nations where the LORD shall lead you. ³⁸ You shall carry much seed out into the field, and shall gather but little in; for the locust shall consume it. ³⁹ You shall plant vineyards, and dress them, but shall neither drink of the wine, nor gather the grapes; for the worms shall eat them. ⁴⁰ You shall have olive trees throughout all your coasts, but you shall not anoint yourself with the oil; for your olive shall cast his fruit. ⁴¹ You shall beget sons and daughters, but you shall not enjoy them; for they shall go into captivity. ⁴² All your trees and fruit of your land shall the locust consume. ⁴³ The stranger that is within you shall get up above you very high; and you shall come down very low. ⁴⁴ He shall lend to you, and you shall not lend to him: He shall be the head, and you shall be the tail. ⁴⁵ Moreover all these curses shall come on you, and shall pursue you, and overtake you, till you be destroyed; because you did not hearken to the voice of the LORD your God, to keep His commandments and His statutes which he commanded you: ⁴⁶ And they shall be upon you for a sign and for a wonder, and on your seed forever. ⁴⁷ Because you served not the LORD your God with joyfulness, and with gladness of heart, for the abundance of all things; ⁴⁸ therefore you shall serve your enemies which the LORD shall send against you, in hunger, and in thirst, and in nakedness, and in want of all things: And he shall put a yoke of iron on your neck, until he have destroyed you. ⁴⁹ The LORD shall bring a nation against you from far, from the end of the earth, as swift as the eagle flies; a nation whose tongue you shall not understand; ⁵⁰ A nation of fierce countenance, which shall not regard the person of the old, nor show favor to the young: ⁵¹ And he shall eat the fruit of your domestic beasts, and the fruit of your land, until you be destroyed: Which also shall not leave you either grain, wine, or oil, or the increase of your cows, or flocks of your sheep, until he have destroyed you. ⁵² And he shall besiege you in all your gates, until your high and fenced walls come down, in which you trusted, throughout all your land: And he shall besiege you in all your gates throughout all your land, which the LORD your God has given you. ⁵³ And you shall eat the fruit of your own body, the flesh of your sons and of your daughters, which the LORD your God has given you, in the siege, and in the narrow place, with which your enemies shall distress you: ⁵⁴ So that the man that is tender among you, and very delicate, his eye shall be evil toward his brother, and toward the wife of his bosom, and toward the remnant of his children which he shall leave: ⁵⁵ So that he will not give to any of them of the flesh of his children whom he shall eat: Because he has nothing left him in the siege, and in the narrow place, with which your enemies shall distress you in all your gates. ⁵⁶ The tender and delicate woman among you, which would not adventure to set the sole of her foot upon the ground for delicateness and tenderness, her eye shall be evil toward the husband of her bosom, and toward her son, and toward her daughter, ⁵⁷ and toward her young one that comes out from between her feet, and toward her children which she shall bear: For she shall eat them for want of all things secretly in the siege and narrow place, with which your enemy shall distress you in your gates. ⁵⁸ If you will not observe to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, that you may fear this glorious and fearful name, THE LORD THY GOD; ⁵⁹ then the LORD will make your plagues wonderful, and the plagues of your seed, even great plagues, and of long continuance, and sore sicknesses, and of long continuance. ⁶⁰ Moreover he will bring on you all the diseases of Egypt, which you were afraid of; and they shall stick to you. ⁶¹ Also every sickness, and every plague, which is not written in the book of this law, them will the LORD bring on you, until you be destroyed. ⁶² And you shall be left few in number, whereas you were as the stars of heaven for multitude; because you would not obey the voice of the LORD your God. ⁶³ And it shall come to pass, that as the LORD rejoiced over you to do you good, and to multiply you; so the LORD will rejoice over you to destroy you, and to bring you to nothing; and you shall be plucked from off the land where you go to possess it. ⁶⁴ And the LORD shall scatter you among all people, from the one end of the earth even to the other; and there you shall serve other gods, which neither you nor your fathers have known, even wood and stone. ⁶⁵ And among these nations shall you find no ease, neither shall the sole of your foot have rest: But the LORD shall give you there a trembling heart, and failing of eyes, and sorrow of mind: ⁶⁶ And your life shall hang in doubt before you; and you shall fear day and night, and shall have none assurance of your life: ⁶⁷ In the morning you shall say, "Would God it were even! And at sunset you shall say, "Would God it were morning! For the fear of your heart with which you shall fear, and for the sight of your eyes which you shall see. ⁶⁸ And the LORD shall bring you into Egypt again with ships, by the way whereof I spoke to you, You shall see it no more again: And there you shall be sold to your enemies for servants and bondwomen, and no man shall buy you.

²⁶ Nevertheless they were disobedient, and rebelled against you, and cast your law behind their backs, and slew your prophets which testified against them to turn them to you, and they worked great provocations.

⁴ The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.

¹⁷ Seeing you hate instruction, and cast My words behind you.

²⁸ But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all Your works.

²² because they did not believe in God, and did not trust in His salvation:

⁷ The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: But fools despise wisdom and instruction.

¹² and say, "How I hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof;

⁵ Why should you be stricken any more? You will revolt more and more: The whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint.

¹³ Therefore the Lord said, "For as much as these people draw near Me with their mouths, and honor Me with their lips, but have removed their hearts far from Me, and their fear toward Me is taught by the precept of men:

¹ "Woe to the rebellious children", said the LORD, "that take counsel, but not of me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin: ² Who walk to go down into Egypt, and have not asked My advice; to strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh, and to trust in the shadow of Egypt! ³ Therefore the strength of Pharaoh shall be your shame, and the trust in the shadow of Egypt your confusion.

¹ Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they do not look to the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the LORD!

²² But you have not called on Me, O Jacob; but you have been weary of Me, O Israel.

³⁰ "In vain I have smitten your children; they received no correction: Your own sword has devoured your prophets, like a destroying lion.

³ O LORD, are not your eyes upon the truth? You have stricken them, but they have not grieved; You have consumed them, but they have refused to receive correction: They have made their faces harder than a rock; they have refused to return.

²³ But this thing I commanded them, saying, 'Obey My voice, and I will be your God, and you shall be My people: And walk in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well to you. ²⁴ But they did not listen, nor inclined their ear, but walked in the counsels and in the imagination of their evil heart, and went backward, and not forward. ²⁵ Since the day that your fathers came forth out of the land of Egypt to this day I have even sent to you all My servants the prophets, daily rising up early and sending them: ²⁶ Yet they did not listen to me, nor inclined their ear, but hardened their neck: They did worse than their fathers. ²⁷ Therefore you shall speak all these words to them; but they will not listen to you: You shall also call to them; but they will not answer you. ²⁸ But you shall say to them, 'This is a nation that does not obey the voice of the LORD their God, nor receives correction: Truth is perished, and is cut off from their mouth.'

⁵ Thus says the LORD; "Cursed is the man that trusts in man, and makes flesh the arm of his strength, and whose heart departs from the LORD. ⁶ For he shall be like the shrub in the desert, and shall not see when good comes; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land that is not inhabited.

²¹ I spoke to you in your prosperity; but you said, 'I will not hear.' This has been your manner from your youth, that you have not obeyed My voice.

³³ And they have turned the back to Me, and not the face: Though I taught them, rising up early and teaching them, yet they have not listened to receive instruction.

¹³ "Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; 'Go and tell the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, "Will you not receive instruction to listen to My words?" said the LORD.

¹⁷ Therefore thus says the LORD God of hosts, the God of Israel; 'Behold, I will bring on Judah and on all the inhabitants of Jerusalem all the evil that I have pronounced against them: Because I have spoken to them, but they have not heard; and I have called to them, but they have not answered.' "

¹³ In your filthiness is lewdness: Because I have purged you, and you were not purged, you shall not be purged from your filthiness any more, until I have caused My fury to rest on you.

¹¹ But they refused to hearken, and pulled away the shoulder, and stopped their ears, that they should not hear. ¹² Yes, they made their hearts as an adamant stone, lest they should hear the law, and the words which the LORD of hosts has sent in His Spirit by the former prophets: Therefore a great wrath came from the LORD of hosts. ¹³ Therefore it has come to pass, that as He cried out, and they would not hear; so they cried out, and I would not hear", says the LORD of hosts: ¹⁴ "But I scattered them with a whirlwind among all the nations whom they did not know. Thus the land was desolate after them, that no man passed through nor returned: For they laid the pleasant land desolate."

¹⁸ He that believes in Him is not condemned: But he that does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. ¹⁹ And this is the condemnation, that light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

²² let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

⁸ Even as I have seen, those that plow iniquity, and sow wickedness, reap the same. ⁹ By the blast of God they perish, and by the breath of his nostrils are they consumed. ¹⁰ The roaring of the lion, and the voice of the fierce lion, and the teeth of the young lions, are broken. ¹¹ The old lion perishes for lack of prey, and the stout lion's whelps are scattered abroad.

⁸ He sits in the lurking places of the villages: In the secret places he murders the innocent: His eyes are privately set against the poor. ⁹ He lies in wait secretly as a lion in his den: He lies in wait to catch the poor: He does catch the poor, when he draws him into his net. ¹⁰ He crouches, and humbles himself, that the poor may fall by his strong ones.

¹⁵ As a roaring lion, and a ranging bear; so is a wicked ruler over the poor people.

²³ Your princes are rebellious, and companions of thieves: Everyone loves gifts, and follows after rewards: They do not judge the fatherless, neither does the cause of the widow come to them.

⁶ Why a lion out of the forest shall slay them, and a wolf of the evenings shall spoil them, a leopard shall watch over their cities: Every one who goes out there shall be torn in pieces: Because their transgressions are many, and their backslidings have increased.

⁶ Behold, the princes of Israel, everyone in you has used their power to shed blood.

²⁵ There is a conspiracy of her prophets in the midst of her, like a roaring lion ravening the prey; they have devoured souls; they have taken the treasure and precious things; they have made her many widows in the midst of her. ²⁶ Her priests have violated My law, and have profaned My holy things: They have put no difference between the holy and profane, neither have they showed difference between the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from My Sabbaths, and I am profaned among them. ²⁷ Her princes in the middle of her are like wolves ravening the prey, to shed blood, and to destroy souls, to get dishonest gain.

¹ And I said, "Hear, I implore you, O heads of Jacob, and all you princes of the house of Israel; Is it not for you to know judgment? ² Who hate the good, and love the evil; who pluck off their skin from off them, and their flesh from off their bones; ³ who also eat the flesh of My people, and flay their skin from off them; and they break their bones, and chop them in pieces, as for the pot, and as flesh within the caldron." ⁴ Then they shall cry to the LORD, but He will not hear them: He will even hide His face from them at that time, as they have behaved themselves badly in their doings.

⁹ Hear this, I implore you, all you heads of the house of Jacob, and princes of the house of Israel, that abhor judgment, and pervert all equity. ¹⁰ They build up Zion with blood, and Jerusalem with iniquity. ¹¹ The heads of it judge for reward, and its priests teach for hire, and its prophets divine for money: Yet they will lean upon the LORD, and say, "Is not the LORD among us? No evil can come upon us."

⁸ Their horses are also swifter than the leopards, and are more fierce than the evening wolves: And their horsemen shall spread themselves, and their horsemen shall come from afar; they shall fly as the eagle that hastens to eat.

¹² Now the sons of Eli were sons of Belial; they did not know the LORD. ¹³ And the priests' custom with the people was that when any man offered sacrifice, the priest's servant came, while the flesh was boiling, with a fleshhook of three prongs in his hand; ¹⁴ and he struck it into the pan, or kettle, or caldron, or pot; all that the fleshhook brought up the priest took for himself. So they did in Shiloh to all the Israelites that came there. ¹⁵ Also before they burned the fat, the priest's servant came, and said to the man that sacrificed, "Give flesh to roast for the priest; for he will not have boiled flesh from you, but raw." ¹⁶ And if any man said to him, "Let them not fail to burn the fat at this time, and then take as much as your soul desires"; then he would answer him, "No; but you shall give it to me now: And if not, I will take it by force." ¹⁷ For this reason the sin of the young men was very great before the LORD: For men abhorred the offering of the LORD.

²² And Eli was very old, and heard all that his sons did to all Israel; and how they lay with the women that assembled at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

¹⁵ The elder and honorable, he is the head; and the prophet that teaches lies, he is the tail.

¹⁰ His watchmen are blind: They are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber. ¹¹ Yes, they are greedy dogs who can never have enough, and they are shepherds who cannot understand: They all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter. ¹² "Come all of you", they say, "I will fetch wine, and we will fill ourselves with strong drink; and tomorrow shall be like today, and much more abundant."

³¹ the prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and My people love to have it so: And what will you do in the end of it?'

¹³ "For from the least of them even to the greatest of them everyone is given to covetousness; and from the prophet even to the priest everyone deals falsely. ¹⁴ They have also healed the hurt of the daughter of my people only slightly, saying, 'Peace, peace'; when there is no peace.

¹⁰ Therefore I will give their wives to others, and their fields to those who shall inherit them: For everyone from the least even to the greatest is given to covetousness, from the prophet even to the priest everyone deals falsely.

¹³ Then I said, "Ah, Lord GOD! Behold, the prophets say to them, 'You shall not see the sword, neither shall you have famine; but I will give you assured peace in this place.' " ¹⁴ Then the LORD said to me, "The prophets prophesy lies in My name: I did not send them, neither have I commanded them, nor spoke to them: They prophesy to you a false vision and divination, and a thing of nothing, and the deceit of their heart." ¹⁵ "Therefore thus says the LORD concerning the prophets that prophesy in My name, and whom I have not sent, yet they say, 'Sword and famine shall not be in this land'; 'By sword and famine shall those prophets be consumed.

⁹ My heart is broken within me because of the prophets; all my bones shake; I am like a drunken man, and like a man whom wine has overcome, because of the LORD, and because of the words of His holiness. ¹⁰ For the land is full of adulterers; for because of swearing the land mourns; the pleasant places of the wilderness are dried up, and their course is evil, and their force is not right. ¹¹ For both prophet and priest are profane; yes, in My house I have found their wickedness", said the LORD. ¹² "Therefore their way shall be to them like slippery ways in the darkness: They shall be driven on, and fall in them: For I will bring evil on them, even the year of their visitation", said the LORD. ¹³ "And I have seen folly in the prophets of Samaria; they prophesied in Baal, and caused My people Israel to err. ¹⁴ I have also seen a horrible thing in the prophets of Jerusalem: They commit adultery and walk in lies: They also strengthen the hands of evildoers, so that no one returns from his wickedness; they are, all of them, as Sodom to Me, and her inhabitants like Gomorrah. ¹⁵ Therefore thus says the LORD of hosts concerning the prophets; 'Behold, I will feed them with wormwood, and make them drink the water of gall: For from the prophets of Jerusalem has profaneness gone forth into all the land.' " ¹⁶ Thus says the LORD of hosts, "Do not listen to the words of the prophets who prophesy to you: They make you vain: They speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of the LORD. ¹⁷ Still they say to those who despise Me, 'The LORD has said, "You shall have peace" '; and they say to everyone who walks after the imagination of his own heart, "No evil shall come upon you.' "

²⁵ "I have heard what the prophets said, "who prophesy lies in My name, saying, 'I have dreamed, I have dreamed.' ²⁶ How long shall this be in the heart of the prophets who prophesy lies? Yes, they are prophets of the deceit of their own heart; ²⁷ who think to cause My people to forget My name by their dreams which they tell every man to his neighbor, as their fathers have forgotten My name for Baal.

³² Behold, I am against those who prophesy false dreams", said the LORD, "and do tell them, and cause My people to err by their lies, and by their lightness; yet I did not send them, nor commanded them: Therefore they shall not profit this people at all", said the LORD.

¹⁴ Therefore do not listen to the words of the prophets who speak to you, saying, 'You shall not serve the king of Babylon': For they prophesy a lie to you. ¹⁵ For I have not sent them", said the LORD, "yet they prophesy a lie in My name; that I might drive you out, and that you might perish, you, and the prophets that prophesy to you."

¹⁴ Your prophets have seen vain and foolish things for you: And they have not discovered your iniquity, to turn away your captivity; but have seen for you false burdens and causes of banishment.

³ thus says the Lord GOD; "Woe to the foolish prophets, who follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing! ⁴ O Israel, your prophets are like the foxes in the deserts. ⁵ You have not gone up into the breach, neither built up the wall for the house of Israel to stand in the battle on the day of the LORD. ⁶ They have seen vanity and lying divination, saying, 'The LORD said': And the LORD has not sent them: And they have made others to hope that they would confirm the word. ⁷ Have you not seen a vain vision, and have you not spoken a lying divination, whereas you say, 'The LORD said it'; albeit I have not spoken?" ⁸ Therefore thus says the Lord GOD; "Because you have spoken vanity, and seen lies, therefore, behold, I am against you", said the Lord GOD. ⁹ And My hand shall be on the prophets who see vanity, and who divine lies: They shall not be in the assembly of My people, neither shall they be written in the writing of the house of Israel, neither shall they enter into the land of Israel; and you shall know that I am the Lord GOD. ¹⁰ Because, even because they have seduced My people, saying, "Peace; and there was no peace; and one built up a wall, and lo, others daubed it with untempered mortar: ¹¹ Say to those who daub it with untempered mortar, that it shall fall: There shall be an overflowing shower; and you, O great hailstones, shall fall; and a stormy wind shall rend it. ¹² See, when the wall has fallen, shall it not be said to you, 'Where is the daubing with which you have daubed it?' " ¹³ Therefore thus says the Lord GOD; "I will even rend it with a stormy wind in My fury; and there shall be an overflowing shower in My anger, and great hailstones in My fury to consume it. ¹⁴ So I will break down the wall that you have daubed with untempered mortar, and bring it down to the ground, so that the foundation of it shall be discovered, and it shall fall, and you shall be consumed in its midst: And you shall know that I am the LORD. ¹⁵ Thus I will accomplish My wrath upon the wall, and on those who have daubed it with untempered mortar, and will say to you, 'The wall is no more, neither are they who daubed it'; ¹⁶ to wit, the prophets of Israel who prophesy concerning Jerusalem, and who see visions of peace for her, and there is no peace", said the Lord GOD.

²⁶ Her priests have violated My law, and have profaned My holy things: They have put no difference between the holy and profane, neither have they showed difference between the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from My Sabbaths, and I am profaned among them.

⁷ in that you have brought into My sanctuary strangers, uncircumcised in heart, and uncircumcised in flesh, to be in My sanctuary, to pollute it, even My house, when you offer My bread, the fat and the blood, and they have broken My covenant because of all your abominations. ⁸ And you have not kept the ordinances of My holy things: But you have set keepers of My ordinances in My sanctuary for yourselves."

⁶ My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: Because you have rejected knowledge, I will also reject you, such that you shall not be priests to Me: Seeing you have forgotten the law of your God, I will also forget your children. ⁷ As they were increased, to that degree they sinned against Me: Therefore I will change their glory into shame. ⁸ They eat up the sin of My people, and they set their heart on their iniquity.

⁷ The days of visitation have come, the days of recompense have come; Israel shall know it: The prophet is a fool, the spiritual man is mad, for the multitude of your iniquity, and the great hatred.

¹¹ If a man walking in the spirit and falsehood speaks lies, saying, 'I will prophesy to you from wine and from strong drink'; he shall even be the prophet of this people.

⁵ Thus says the LORD concerning the prophets that make My people err, that bite with their teeth, and cry, "Peace"; and he that does not put into their mouths, they even prepare war against him. ⁶ Therefore night shall be to you, that you all shall not have a vision; and it shall be dark to you, that you all shall not divine; and the sun shall go down over the prophets, and the day shall be dark over them.

⁸ But you all have departed out of the way; you all have caused many to stumble at the law; you all have corrupted the covenant of Levi", says the LORD of hosts.

¹⁵ Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.

¹³ For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ.

¹ But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privately shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. ² And many shall follow their pernicious ways; because of by whom the way of truth shall be spoken evil of. ³ And through covetousness they shall make merchandise of you with feigned words: Whose judgment will now not linger for a long time, and their damnation does not slumber.

¹ Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but prove the spirits by testing whether they are of God: Because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

²⁰ And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that worked miracles before him, with which he deceived those that had received the mark of the beast, and those that worshiped his image. These two were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

²⁵ Far be it from You to do hurt in this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked: And that the righteous should be as the wicked, far be it from You: Shall the Judge of all the earth not do right?"

¹⁴ For the LORD your God walks in the midst of your camp, to deliver you, and to give up your enemies before you; therefore shall your camp be holy: That he see no unclean thing in you, and turn away from you.

⁴ He is the Rock, his work is perfect: For all his ways are judgment: A God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.

³ Does God pervert judgment? Or does the Almighty pervert justice?

¹⁰ Therefore listen to me you men of understanding: Far be it from God, that He should do wickedness; and from the Almighty, that he should commit iniquity.

¹⁷ Shall even he that hates right govern? And will you condemn him that is most just? ¹⁸ Is it fit to say to a king, You are wicked? And to princes, You are ungodly? ¹⁹ How much less to him that accepts not the persons of princes, nor regards the rich more than the poor? For they all are the work of his hands.

⁶ And He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, and Your judgment as the noonday.

³ Let them praise Your great and frightful name; for it is holy. ⁴ The King's strength also loves judgment: You do establish equity, You execute judgment and righteousness in Jacob.

¹⁷ The LORD is righteous in all His ways, and holy in all His works.

¹⁶ And moreover I saw under the sun the place of judgment, that wickedness was there; and the place of righteousness, that iniquity was there. ¹⁷ I said in my heart, "God shall judge the righteous and the wicked: For there is a time for every purpose and for every work."

⁶ Cry out and shout, you inhabitant of Zion: For great is the Holy One of Israel in the midst of you.

¹⁹ From the time that it goes forth it shall take you: For morning by morning it shall pass over, by day and by night: And it shall be a terror only to understand the report.

² O LORD, be gracious to us; we have waited for You: Be their arm every morning, our salvation also in the time of trouble.

³ A bruised reed He shall not break, and the smoking flax He shall not quench: He shall bring forth judgment to truth. ⁴ He shall not fail nor be discouraged, until He has set judgment in the earth: And the isles shall wait for His law.

²¹ All of you tell, and bring them near; yes, let them take counsel together: Who has declared this from ancient times? Who has told it from that time? Have I not, the LORD? And there is no God besides Me; a just God and a Savior; there is none besides me.

⁴ The Lord GOD has given Me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him who is weary: He wakens morning by morning, He wakens my ear to hear as the learned.

³ Therefore the showers have been withheld, and there has been no latter rain; and you had a whore's forehead, you refused to be ashamed.

¹⁵ Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? No, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush: Therefore they shall fall among those who fall: At the time that I visit them they shall be cast down", said the LORD.

¹² O house of David, thus says the LORD; "Execute judgment in the morning, and deliver him who is spoiled out of the hand of the oppressor, lest My fury go out like fire, and burn that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings.

²³ They are new every morning: Great is Your faithfulness.

³⁵ It was eighteen thousand measures all around: And the name of the city from that day forward shall be, The LORD is there."The LORD is there; or in the Hebrew, Jehovahshammah

¹¹ The heads of it judge for reward, and its priests teach for hire, and its prophets divine for money: Yet they will lean upon the LORD, and say, "Is not the LORD among us? No evil can come upon us."

⁹ I will bear the indignation of the LORD, because I have sinned against Him, until He pleads my cause, and executes judgment for me: He will bring me forth to the light, and I shall behold His righteousness.

³ Why do You show me iniquity, and cause me to behold grievance? For spoiling and violence are before me: And there are things that raise up strife and contention.

¹ Gather yourselves together, yes, gather together, O undesired nation;

¹⁵ The LORD has taken away your judgments, He has cast out your enemy: The King of Israel, even the LORD, is in the midst of you: You shall not see evil any more.

¹⁷ The LORD your God is mighty in the midst of you; He will save, He will rejoice over you with joy; He will rest in His love, He will joy over you with singing."

⁵ For I', says the LORD, 'will be to her a wall of fire all around, and will be the glory in the midst of her.' "

⁹ Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: Behold, your King comes to you: He is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon a donkey, and upon a colt, the foal of a donkey.

² For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; nor hid, that shall not be known.

⁵ But according to your hardness and impenitent heart you treasure up for yourself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;

²⁶ to declare, I say, at this time His righteousness: That He might be just, and the justifier of him that believes in Jesus.

⁵ Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: And then every man shall have praise from God.

¹⁷ And if you call on the Father, who without reverence of persons judges according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear:

³¹ And I will make your cities waste, and bring your sanctuaries to desolation, and I will not smell the smell of your sweet odors.

¹ Woe to those that decree unrighteous decrees, and that write oppressiveness which they have prescribed; ² to turn aside the needy from judgment, and to take away the right from the poor of my people, that widows may be their prey, and that they may rob the fatherless! ³ And what will all of you do in the day of visitation, and in the desolation which shall come from afar? To whom will you flee for help? And where will you leave your glory? ⁴ Without Me they shall bow down under the prisoners, and they shall fall under the slain. For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is outstretched still. ⁵ O Assyrian, the rod of My anger, and the staff in their hand is My indignation. ⁶ I will send him against a hypocritical nation, and I will give him a charge against the people of my wrath, to take the spoil, and to take the prey, and to tread them down like the mire in the streets. ⁷ However, he does not mean so, neither does his heart think so; but it is in his heart to destroy and cut off not a few nations. ⁸ For he said, "Are not my princes altogether kings?" ⁹ Is not Calno as Carchemish? Is not Hamath as Arpad? Is not Samaria as Damascus? ¹⁰ As my hand has found the kingdoms of the idols, and whose graven images did excel them of Jerusalem and of Samaria; ¹¹ shall I not, as I have done to Samaria and her idols, do so to Jerusalem and her idols? ¹² Therefore it shall come to pass, that when the Lord has performed His whole work upon Mount Zion and on Jerusalem, I will punish the fruit of the stout heart of the king of Assyria, and the glory of his high looks. ¹³ For he said, "By the strength of my hand I have done it, and by my wisdom; for I am prudent: And I have removed the bounds of the people, and have robbed their treasures, and I have put down the inhabitants like a valiant man: ¹⁴ And my hand has found as a nest the riches of the people: And as one gathers eggs that are left, have I gathered all the earth; and there was none that moved the wing, or opened the mouth, or peeped." ¹⁵ Shall the ax boast itself against him who chops with it? Or shall the saw magnify itself against him that shakes it? As if the rod should shake itself against those that lift it up, or as if the staff should lift itself up, as if it were not wood. ¹⁶ Therefore shall the Lord, the Lord of hosts, send among his fat ones leanness; and under his glory He shall kindle a burning like the burning of a fire. ¹⁷ And the light of Israel shall be for a fire, and his Holy One for a flame: And it shall burn and devour his thorns and his briers in one day; ¹⁸ and shall consume the glory of his forest, and of his fruitful field, both soul and body: And they shall be as when a standard-bearer faints. ¹⁹ And the rest of the trees of his forest shall be few, that a child may list them. ²⁰ And it shall come to pass in that day, that the remnant of Israel, and such as have escaped of the house of Jacob, shall lean no more again on him that smote them; but shall lean on the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, in truth. ²¹ The remnant shall return, even the remnant of Jacob, to the mighty God. ²² For though your people Israel are as the sand of the sea, yet a remnant of them shall return: The decreed destruction shall overflow with righteousness. ²³ For the Lord GOD of hosts shall even make a determined consumption in the midst of all the land. ²⁴ Therefore thus says the Lord GOD of hosts, "O My people that dwell in Zion, do not be afraid of the Assyrian: He shall smite you with a rod, and shall lift up his staff against you, after the manner of Egypt. ²⁵ For yet a very little while, and the indignation shall cease, and My anger in their destruction. ²⁶ And the LORD of hosts shall stir up a whip for him according to the slaughter of Midian at the rock of Oreb: And as His rod was on the sea, so shall He lift it up after the manner of Egypt. ²⁷ And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off your shoulder, and his yoke from off your neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing. ²⁸ He has come to Aiath, he has passed to Migron; at Michmash he has laid up his carriages: ²⁹ They have gone over the passage: They have taken up their lodging at Geba; Ramah is afraid; Gibeah of Saul has fled. ³⁰ Lift up your voice, O daughter of Gallim: Cause it to be heard to Laish, O poor Anathoth. ³¹ Madmenah is removed; the inhabitants of Gebim gather themselves to flee. ³² As yet he shall remain at Nob that day: He shall shake his hand against the mount of the daughter of Zion, the hill of Jerusalem. ³³ Behold, the Lord, the LORD of hosts, shall lop the bough with terror: And the high ones of stature shall be hewn down, and the haughty shall be humbled. ³⁴ And He shall cut down the thickets of the forest with iron, and Lebanon shall fall by a Mighty One.

¹ The burden of Moab. Because in the night Ar of Moab is laid waste, and brought to silence; because in the night Kir of Moab is laid waste, and brought to silence; ² he has gone up to Bajith, and to Dibon, the high places, to weep: Moab shall howl over Nebo, and over Medeba: On all their heads shall be baldness, and every beard cut off. ³ In their streets they shall gird themselves with sackcloth: On the tops of their houses, and in their streets, everyone shall howl, weeping abundantly. ⁴ And Heshbon shall cry, and Elealeh: Their voice shall be heard even to Jahaz: Therefore the armed soldiers of Moab shall cry out; his life shall be grievous to him. ⁵ My heart shall cry out for Moab; his fugitives shall flee to Zoar, a heifer of three years old: For by the mounting up of Luhith with weeping they shall go up it; for in the way of Horonaim they shall raise up a cry of destruction. ⁶ For the waters of Nimrim shall be desolate: For the hay is withered away, the grass fails, there is no green thing. ⁷ Therefore the abundance they have gotten, and that which they have laid up, they shall carry away to the brook of the willows. ⁸ For the cry is gone all around the borders of Moab; its howling to Eglaim, and the howling of it to Beerelim. ⁹ For the waters of Dimon shall be full of blood: For I will bring more on Dimon, lions upon him who escapes from Moab, and upon the remnant of the land.

¹ The burden of Egypt. Behold, the LORD rides on a swift cloud, and shall come into Egypt: And the idols of Egypt shall be moved at his presence, and the heart of Egypt shall melt in the midst of it. ² "And I will set the Egyptians against the Egyptians: And they shall fight everyone against his brother, and everyone against his neighbor; city against city, and kingdom against kingdom. ³ And the spirit of Egypt shall fail in the midst of her; and I will destroy her counsel: And they shall seek to consult the idols, and to consult the charmers, and to those that have familiar spirits, and to the wizards. ⁴ And I will give the Egyptians over into the hand of a cruel lord; and a fierce king shall rule over them", said the Lord, the LORD of hosts. ⁵ And the waters from the sea shall fail, and the river shall be wasted and dried up. ⁶ And they shall turn the rivers far away; and the brooks of defense shall be emptied and dried up: The reeds and flags shall wither. ⁷ The paper reeds by the brooks, by the mouth of the brooks, and everything sown by the brooks, shall wither, be driven away, and be no more. ⁸ The fishers shall also mourn, and all those who cast angle into the brooks shall lament, and those that spread nets on the waters shall languish. ⁹ Moreover those who work in fine flax, and those who weave networks, shall be confounded. ¹⁰ And they shall be broken in its purposes, all who make flood-gates and ponds for fish. ¹¹ Surely the princes of Zoan are fools, the counsel of the wise counsellors of Pharaoh has become brutish: How do you say to Pharaoh, "I am the son of the wise, the son of ancient kings?" ¹² Where are they? Where are your wise men? And let them tell you now, and let them know what the LORD of hosts has purposed on Egypt. ¹³ The princes of Zoan have become fools, the princes of Noph are deceived; they have also seduced Egypt, even those who are the support of its tribes. ¹⁴ The LORD has mingled a perverse spirit in the midst of it: And they have caused Egypt to err in every work of it, as a drunken man staggers in his vomit. ¹⁵ Neither shall there be any work for Egypt, which the head or tail, branch or rush, may do. ¹⁶ In that day Egypt shall be like women: And it shall be afraid and fear because of the shaking of the hand of the LORD of hosts, which he shakes over it. ¹⁷ And the land of Judah shall be a terror to Egypt, everyone that makes mention of it shall be afraid in himself, because of the counsel of the LORD of hosts, which he has determined against it. ¹⁸ In that day five cities in the land of Egypt shall speak the language of Canaan, and swear to the LORD of hosts; one shall be called, The city of destruction. ¹⁹ In that day there shall be an altar to the LORD in the middle of the land of Egypt, and a pillar to the LORD at its border. ²⁰ And it shall be for a sign and for a witness to the LORD of hosts in the land of Egypt: For they shall cry to the LORD because of the oppressors, and He shall send them a Savior, and a Great One, and He shall deliver them. ²¹ And the LORD shall be known to Egypt, and the Egyptians shall know the LORD in that day, and shall do sacrifice and oblation; yes, they shall vow a vow to the LORD, and perform it. ²² And the LORD shall smite Egypt: He shall smite and heal it: And they shall even return to the LORD, and He shall be entreated of them, and shall heal them. ²³ In that day there shall be a highway out of Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrian shall come into Egypt, and the Egyptian into Assyria, and the Egyptians shall serve with the Assyrians. ²⁴ In that day Israel shall be the third with Egypt and with Assyria, even a blessing in the midst of the land: ²⁵ Whom the LORD of hosts shall bless, saying, "Blessed be Egypt My people, and Assyria the work of My hands, and Israel My inheritance."

¹¹ Behold, you have heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all lands by destroying them utterly; and shall you be delivered? ¹² Have the gods of the nations delivered those whom my fathers have destroyed, as Gozan, and Haran, and Rezeph, and the children of Eden which were in Telassar? ¹³ Where is the king of Hamath, and the king of Arphad, and the king of the city of Sepharvaim, Hena, and Ivah?"

²⁴ By your servants you have reproached the Lord, and have said, "By the multitude of my chariots I have come up to the height of the mountains, to the sides of Lebanon; and I will cut down the tall cedars of it, and its choice fir trees: And I will enter into the height of his border, and the forest of his Carmel. ²⁵ I have dug, and drunk water; and with the sole of my feet I have dried up all the rivers of the besieged places." ²⁶ Have you not heard long ago, how I have done it; and of ancient times, that I have formed it? Now I have brought it to pass, that you should lay waste defended cities into ruinous heaps.

³⁶ Then the angel of the LORD went forth, and smote in the camp of the Assyrians a hundred and eighty and five thousand: And when they arose early in the morning, behold, they were all dead corpses.

⁹ behold, I will send and take all the families of the north', said the LORD, 'and Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, My servant, and will bring them against this land, and against its inhabitants, and against all these nations all around, and will utterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, and a hissing, and perpetual desolations. ¹⁰ Moreover I will take from them the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstones, and the light of the candle. ¹¹ And this whole land shall be a desolation, and an astonishment; and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years.

¹⁸ To wit, Jerusalem, and the cities of Judah, and her kings, and her princes, to make them a desolation, an astonishment, a hissing, and a curse; as it is this day; ¹⁹ pharaoh king of Egypt, and his servants, and his princes, and all his people; ²⁰ and all the mingled people, and all the kings of the land of Uz, and all the kings of the land of the Philistines, and Ashkelon, and Azzah, and Ekron, and the remnant of Ashdod, ²¹ edom, and Moab, and the children of Ammon, ²² and all the kings of Tyrus, and all the kings of Zidon, and the kings of the isles which are beyond the sea, ²³ dedan, and Tema, and Buz, and all that are in the utmost corners, ²⁴ and all the kings of Arabia, and all the kings of the mingled people that dwell in the desert, ²⁵ and all the kings of Zimri, and all the kings of Elam, and all the kings of the Medes, ²⁶ and all the kings of the north, far and near, one with another, and all the kingdoms of the world, which are on the face of the earth: And the king of Sheshach shall drink after them.

¹ He that dashes in pieces has come up before your face: Keep the fortification, watch the way, make your loins strong, fortify your power mightily. ² For the LORD has turned away the excellency of Jacob, as the excellency of Israel: For the emptiers have emptied them out, and marred their vine branches. ³ The shield of his mighty men is made red, the valiant men are in scarlet: The chariots shall be with flaming torches in the day of his preparation, and the fir trees shall be shaken terribly.

⁵ Woe to the inhabitants of the sea coast, the nation of the Cherethites! The word of the LORD is against you; O Canaan, the land of the Philistines, "I will even destroy you, that there shall be no inhabitants left."

¹⁴ "But I scattered them with a whirlwind among all the nations whom they did not know. Thus the land was desolate after them, that no man passed through nor returned: For they laid the pleasant land desolate."

⁶ Now these things were our examples, to the intent that we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.

¹¹ Now all these things happened to them as examples: And they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world has come.

¹² And God looked upon the earth, and behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.

¹⁶ Lest you corrupt yourselves, and make you a graven image, the similitude of any figure, the likeness of male or female,

⁶ For Pekah the son of Remaliah slew in Judah a hundred and twenty thousand in one day, which were all valiant men; because they had forsaken the LORD God of their fathers. ⁷ And Zichri, a mighty man of Ephraim, slew Maaseiah the king's son, and Azrikam the governor of the house, and Elkanah that was next to the king. ⁸ And the children of Israel carried away captive of their brothers two hundred thousand, women, sons, and daughters, and took also away much spoil from them, and brought the spoil to Samaria.

¹ After these things, and its establishment, Sennacherib king of Assyria came, and entered into Judah, and encamped against the fenced cities, and thought to win them for himself. ² And when Hezekiah saw that Sennacherib was come, and that he was purposed to fight against Jerusalem,

¹¹ Why the LORD brought on them the captains of the host of the king of Assyria, which took Manasseh among the thorns, and bound him with fetters, and carried him to Babylon.

³ And the king of Egypt put him down at Jerusalem, and condemned the land in a hundred talents of silver and a talent of gold. ⁴ And the king of Egypt made Eliakim his brother king over Judah and Jerusalem, and turned his name to Jehoiakim. And Necho took Jehoahaz his brother, and carried him to Egypt. ⁵ Jehoiakim was twenty-five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem: And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD his God. ⁶ Against him came up Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and bound him in fetters, to carry him to Babylon. ⁷ Nebuchadnezzar also carried of the vessels of the house of the LORD to Babylon, and put them in his temple at Babylon. ⁸ Now the rest of the acts of Jehoiakim, and his abominations which he did, and that which was found in him, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah: And Jehoiachin his son reigned in his stead. ⁹ Jehoiachin was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned three months and ten days in Jerusalem: And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD. ¹⁰ And when the year was expired, king Nebuchadnezzar sent, and brought him to Babylon, with the goodly vessels of the house of the LORD, and made Zedekiah his brother king over Judah and Jerusalem.

⁴ What more could have been done to My vineyard, that I have not done in it? Why, when I expected that it should bring forth grapes, it brought forth wild grapes?

⁸ For He said, "Surely they are My people, children that will not lie": So He was their Savior.

⁷ Then will I cause you to dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers, forever and ever.

⁶ I listened and heard, but they did not speak aright: No man repented of his wickedness, saying, 'What have I done?' Everyone turned to his course, as the horse rushes into the battle.

²⁵ then there shall enter into the gates of this city kings and princes sitting on the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses, they and their princes, the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem: And this city shall remain forever. ²⁶ And they shall come from the cities of Judah, and from the places around Jerusalem, and from the land of Benjamin, and from the plain, and from the mountains, and from the south, bringing burnt offerings, and sacrifices, and food offerings, and incense, and bringing sacrifices of praise, to the house of the LORD. ²⁷ But if you will not listen to Me to hallow the Sabbath day, and not to bear a burden, even entering in at the gates of Jerusalem on the Sabbath day; then I will kindle a fire in its gates, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem, and it shall not be quenched."

⁵ They said, 'All of you turn now again, everyone from his evil way, and from the evil of your doings, and dwell in the land that the LORD has given to you and to your fathers forever and ever:

³ It may be that the house of Judah will hear all the evil which I purpose to do to them; that they may return every man from his evil way; that I may forgive their iniquity and their sin."

¹⁷ Then Jeremiah said to Zedekiah, "Thus says the LORD, the God of hosts, the God of Israel; 'If you will assuredly go forth to the king of Babylon's princes, then your soul shall live, and this city shall not be burned with fire; and you shall live, and your house:

⁹ They have deeply corrupted themselves, as in the days of Gibeah: Therefore he will remember their iniquity, he will visit their sins.

¹ Woe to those that devise iniquity, and work evil upon their beds! When the morning is light, they practice it, because it is in the power of their hand. ² And they covet fields, and take them by violence; and houses, and take them away: So they oppress a man and his house, even a man and his heritage.oppress; or, defraud

² She did not obey the voice; she did not receive correction; she did not trust in the LORD; she did not draw near to her God.

⁴² saying, "If you had known, even you, at least in this day, the things which relate to your peace! But now they are hid from your eyes. ⁴³ For the days shall come upon you, that your enemies shall cast a trench around you, surround you, and keep you in on every side, ⁴⁴ and shall level you even with the ground, and your children within you; and they shall not leave one stone upon another in you; because you did not know the time of your visitation."

⁹ The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

²¹ They have moved me to jealousy with that which is not God; they have provoked me to anger with their vanities: And I will move them to jealousy with those which are not a people; I will provoke them to anger with a foolish nation. ²² For a fire is kindled in my anger, and shall burn to the lowest hell, and shall consume the earth with her increase, and set on fire the foundations of the mountains.

⁵ "For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, I will now arise", says the LORD; "I will set him in safety from he that puffs at him."puffs at him; or, would ensnare him

¹⁴ Wait on the LORD: Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart: Wait, I say, "on the LORD.

⁷ Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for Him: Do not fret yourself because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wicked devices to pass.

³⁴ Wait on the LORD, and keep His way, and He shall exalt you to inherit the land: When the wicked are cut off, you shall see it.

¹ To the chief Musician, to Jeduthun, A Psalm of David. Truly my soul waits upon God: From Him comes my salvation.

⁵ My soul, wait only upon God; for my expectation is from Him.

⁶⁵ Then the LORD awaked as one out of sleep, and like a mighty man that shouts by reason of wine. ⁶⁶ And He smote His enemies in the hinder parts: He put them to a perpetual reproach.

² Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maiden to the hand of her mistress; so our eyes wait upon the LORD our God, until He has mercy upon us.

⁵ I wait for the LORD, my soul does wait, and in His word do I hope. ⁶ My soul waits for the Lord more than those that watch for the morning: I say, "more than those that watch for the morning.

²² Do not say, "I will recompense evil"; but wait on the LORD, and He shall save you.

⁶ Set me as a seal upon your heart, as a seal upon your arm: For love is as strong as death; jealousy is cruel as the grave: The coals of it are coals of fire, which has a most vehement flame.

¹⁸ And therefore the LORD will wait, that He may be gracious to you, and therefore He will be exalted, that He may have mercy on you: For the LORD is a God of judgment: Blessed are all those that wait for Him.

¹³ The LORD shall go forth as a mighty man, He shall stir up jealousy like a man of war: He shall cry, yes, roar; He shall prevail against His enemies. ¹⁴ I have long time held my peace; I have been still, and refrained myself: Now I will cry like a travailing woman; I will destroy and devour at once.

¹⁶ And He saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: Therefore His arm brought salvation to Him; and His righteousness sustained Him. ¹⁷ For He put on righteousness as a breastplate, and a helmet of salvation on His head; and He put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloak. ¹⁸ According to their deeds, accordingly He will repay, fury to His adversaries, recompense to His enemies; to the islands He will repay recompense.

²⁵ The LORD is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him. ²⁶ It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.

⁵ therefore thus says the Lord GOD; "Surely in the fire of My jealousy I have spoken against the residue of the heathen, and against all Idumea, which have appointed My land into their possession with the joy of all their heart, with spiteful minds, to cast it out for a prey." ' ⁶ Prophesy therefore concerning the land of Israel, and say to the mountains, and to the hills, to the rivers, and to the valleys, 'Thus says the Lord GOD; "Behold, I have spoken in My jealousy and in My fury, because you have borne the shame of the heathen:"

¹⁴ Therefore, son of man, prophesy and say to Gog, 'Thus says the Lord GOD; "In that day when My people of Israel dwell safely, shall you not know it? ¹⁵ And you shall come from your place out of the north parts, you, and many people with you, all of them riding upon horses, a great company, and a mighty army: ¹⁶ And you shall come up against My people of Israel, as a cloud to cover the land; it shall be in the latter days, and I will bring you back against My land, that the heathen may know Me, when I shall be sanctified in you, O Gog, before their eyes." ¹⁷ Thus says the Lord GOD; "Are you he of whom I have spoken in old times by My servants the prophets of Israel, which prophesied in those days that many years from then I would bring you back against them? ¹⁸ And it shall come to pass at the same time when Gog shall come against the land of Israel", said the Lord GOD, "that My fury shall come up in My face. ¹⁹ For in My jealousy and in the fire of My wrath I have spoken, 'Surely in that day there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israel; ²⁰ so that the fish of the sea, and the fowls of the heaven, and the wild beasts of the field, and all creeping things that creep upon the earth, and all the men that are upon the face of the earth, shall shake at My presence, and the mountains shall be thrown down, and the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground.' ²¹ And I will call for a sword against him throughout all My mountains", says the Lord GOD: "Every man's sword shall be against his brother. ²² And I will plead against him with pestilence and with blood; and I will rain upon him, and upon his bands, and upon the many people that are with him, an overflowing rain, and great hailstones, fire, and brimstone. ²³ Thus I will magnify Myself, and sanctify Myself; and I will be known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that I am the LORD." ' "

⁶ Therefore turn to your God: Keep mercy and judgment, and wait on your God continually.

² I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for My people and for My heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and divided My land.

⁹ Proclaim this among the Gentiles; "Prepare war", wake up the mighty men, let all the men of war draw near; let them come up: ¹⁰ Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruning-hooks into spears: Let the weak say, "I am strong." ¹¹ Assemble yourselves, and come, all you heathen, and gather yourselves together all around: Cause Your mighty ones to come down to that place, O LORD. ¹² Let the heathen be awakened, and come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat: For there I will sit to judge all the heathen compassed around. ¹³ Put in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe: Come, get down; for the press is full, the fats overflow; for their wickedness is great. ¹⁴ Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: For the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision. ¹⁵ The sun and the moon shall be darkened, and the stars shall withdraw their shining. ¹⁶ The LORD also shall roar out of Zion, and utter His voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: But the LORD will be the hope of His people, and the strength of the children of Israel.

¹¹ Now also many nations are gathered against you, that say, "Let her be defiled, and let our eye look upon Zion." ¹² But they do not know the thoughts of the LORD, neither do they understand His counsel: For He shall gather them as the sheaves into the floor. ¹³ "Arise and thresh, O daughter of Zion: For I will make your horn iron, and I will make your hoofs brass: And you shall beat in pieces many people: And I will consecrate their gain to the LORD, and their substance to the Lord of the whole earth."

⁷ Therefore I will look to the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation: My God will hear me.

³ For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: Though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.

¹⁸ Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the LORD's wrath; but the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of His jealousy: For He shall even make a speedy riddance of all those that dwell in the land.

² "For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses pillaged, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city." ³ Then the LORD shall go forth, and fight against those nations, as when He fought in the day of battle.

³² And all nations shall be gathered before Him: And He shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats:

⁷ Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. Behold, the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, and has long patience for it, until he receives the early and latter rain. ⁸ You also be patient; establish your hearts: For the coming of the Lord draws near.

¹⁰ But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also, and the works that are in it shall be burned up.

¹⁴ For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth to the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.

¹⁷ Then I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried out with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, "Come and gather yourselves together to the supper of the great God; ¹⁸ that you may eat the flesh of kings, the flesh of captains, the flesh of mighty men, the flesh of horses, and of those that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great." ¹⁹ And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against Him that sat on the horse, and against His army.

¹ And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech.

⁴¹ Moreover concerning a stranger, that is not of your people Israel, but comes out of a far country for your name's sake; ⁴² (For they shall hear of your great name, and of your strong hand, and of your outstretched arm); when he shall come and pray toward this house; ⁴³ hear you in heaven your dwelling place, and do according to all that the stranger calls to you for: That all people of the earth may know your name, to fear you, as do your people Israel; and that they may know that this house, which I have built, is called by your name.

²⁷ All the ends of the world shall remember and turn to the LORD: And all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before You.

⁹ All nations whom You have made shall come and worship before You, O LORD; and shall glorify Your name. ¹⁰ For You are great, and do wondrous things: You are God alone.

³ From the rising of the sun to the going down of the same the LORD'S name is to be praised.

¹⁸ In that day five cities in the land of Egypt shall speak the language of Canaan, and swear to the LORD of hosts; one shall be called, The city of destruction.

¹⁹ O LORD, my strength, and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the Gentiles shall come to You from the ends of the earth, and shall say, "Surely our fathers have inherited lies, vanity, and things in which there is no profit."

¹⁴ For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.

¹¹ The LORD will be terrible to them: For He will famish all the gods of the earth; and men shall worship Him, every one from his place, even all the isles of the heathen.

¹¹ "And many nations shall be joined to the LORD in that day, and shall be My people: And I will dwell in the midst of you, and you shall know that the LORD of hosts has sent me to you.

²⁰ Thus says the LORD of hosts; 'It shall yet come to pass, that there shall come people, and the inhabitants of many cities: ²¹ And the inhabitants of one city shall go to another, saying, "Let us go speedily to pray before the LORD, and to seek the LORD of hosts: I will go also." ²² Yes, many people and strong nations shall come to seek the LORD of hosts in Jerusalem, and to pray before the LORD.' ²³ Thus says the LORD of hosts; 'In those days it shall come to pass, that ten men shall take hold out of all languages of the nations, even shall take hold of the skirt of him that is a Jew, saying, "We will go with you: For we have heard that God is with you."

⁹ And the LORD shall be King over all the earth: In that day there shall be one LORD, and His name one.

³⁵ A good man out of the good treasure of the heart brings forth good things: And an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things.

⁴ And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. ⁵ And there were Jews dwelling in Jerusalem, devout men, out of every nation under heaven. ⁶ Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because every man heard them speak in his own language. ⁷ And they were all amazed and marveled, saying to one another, "Behold, are not all these who speak Galileans? ⁸ And how come we hear every man in our own tongue, in which we were born? ⁹ Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia, ¹⁰ Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya around Cyrene, strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes, ¹¹ Cretes and Arabians, we hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God." ¹² And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying to one another, "What could this mean?" ¹³ Others mocking said, "These men are full of new wine."

⁶ That you may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. ⁷ You therefore, receive one another, as Christ also received us to the glory of God. ⁸ Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made to the fathers: ⁹ And that the Gentiles might glorify God for His mercy; as it is written, "For this reason I will confess to You among the Gentiles, and sing to Your name." ¹⁰ And again he said, "Rejoice, O Gentiles, with His people." ¹¹ And again, "Praise the LORD, all you Gentiles; and laud Him, all you people."

²⁹ Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good for the use of edifying, that it may minister grace to the hearers.

¹⁵ Then the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, "The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of His Christ; and He shall reign forever and ever."

³¹ Princes shall come out of Egypt; Ethiopia shall soon stretch out her hands to God.

⁸ He shall also have dominion from sea to sea, and from the river to the ends of the earth. ⁹ Those that dwell in the wilderness shall bow before Him; and His enemies shall lick the dust. ¹⁰ The kings of Tarshish and of the isles shall bring presents: The kings of Sheba and Seba shall offer gifts. ¹¹ Yes, all kings shall fall down before Him: All nations shall serve Him.

¹¹ And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set His hand again the second time to recover the remnant of His people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.

¹ Woe to the land shadowing with wings, which is beyond the rivers of Ethiopia:

⁷ In that time the present shall be brought to the LORD of hosts of a people scattered and peeled, and from a people terrible from their beginning until now; a nation meted out and trodden under foot, whose land the rivers have spoiled, to the place of the name of the LORD of hosts, the Mount Zion.

¹² And it shall come to pass in that day, that the LORD shall beat thresh from the channel of the river to the stream of Egypt, and you shall be gathered one by one, O you children of Israel. ¹³ And it shall come to pass in that day, that the great trumpet shall be blown, and they shall come which were ready to perish in the land of Assyria, and the outcasts in the land of Egypt, and shall worship the LORD in the holy mount at Jerusalem.

²⁰ The children which you shall have, after you have lost the other, shall say again in your ears, 'The place is too strait for me: Give a place to me that I may dwell.' ²¹ Then you shall say in your heart, 'Who has begotten these to me, seeing I have lost my children, and am desolate, a captive, and wandering to and fro? And who has brought these up? Behold, I was left alone; these, where had they been?' " ²² Thus says the Lord GOD, "Behold, I will lift up My hand to the Gentiles, and set up My standard to the people: And they shall bring your sons in their arms, and your daughters shall be carried on their shoulders. ²³ And kings shall be your nursing fathers, and their queens your nursing mothers: They shall bow down to you with their face toward the earth, and lick up the dust of your feet; and you shall know that I am the LORD: For they shall not be ashamed who wait for Me."

⁴ Lift up your eyes all around, and see: They all gather themselves together, they come to you: Your sons shall come from afar, and your daughters shall be nursed at your side. ⁵ Then you shall see, and flow together, and your heart shall fear, and be enlarged; because the abundance of the sea shall be converted to you, the forces of the Gentiles shall come to you. ⁶ The multitude of camels shall cover you, the dromedaries of Midian and Ephah; all those from Sheba shall come: They shall bring gold and incense; and they shall show forth the praises of the LORD. ⁷ All the flocks of Kedar shall be gathered together to you, the rams of Nebaioth shall minister to you: They shall come up on My altar with acceptance, and I will glorify the house of My glory. ⁸ Who are these that fly like a cloud, and as the doves to their windows? ⁹ Surely the isles shall wait for Me, and the ships of Tarshish will come first, to bring your sons from afar, their silver and their gold with them, to the name of the LORD your God, and to the Holy One of Israel, because He has glorified you. ¹⁰ "And the sons of strangers shall build up your walls, and their kings shall minister to you: For in My wrath I smote you, but in My favor I have had mercy on you. ¹¹ Therefore your gates shall be open continually; they shall not be shut day nor night; that men may bring to you the forces of the Gentiles, and that their kings may be brought. ¹² For the nation and kingdom that will not serve you shall perish; yes, those nations shall be utterly ruined.

¹⁸ "For I know their works and their thoughts: It shall come, that I will gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come, and see My glory. ¹⁹ And I will set a sign among them, and I will send those who escape of them to the nations, to Tarshish, Pul, and Lud, who draw the bow, to Tubal, and Javan, to the isles afar off, that have not heard My fame, neither have seen My glory; and they shall declare My glory among the Gentiles. ²⁰ And they shall bring all your brothers out of all nations on horses for an offering to the LORD, and in chariots, and in litters, and on mules, and on swift beasts, to My holy mountain Jerusalem", said the LORD, "as the children of Israel bring an offering in a clean vessel into the house of the LORD. ²¹ And I will also take from them for priests and for Levites", said the LORD.

¹¹ For from the rising of the sun even to the going down of the same, My name shall be great among the Gentiles; and in every place incense shall be offered to My name, and a pure offering: For My name shall be great among the heathen", says the LORD of hosts.

²⁷ And he arose and went: And behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem to worship,

¹⁷ "Now after many years I came to bring charitable alms to my nation, and offerings.

¹¹ I say then, have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: But rather through their fall salvation has come to the Gentiles, to provoke them to jealousy. ¹² Now if the fall of them is the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fullness?

¹⁶ that I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Spirit.

¹ Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,

³ And they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron, and said to them, "You take too much on you, seeing all the congregation are holy, every one of them, and the LORD is among them: Why then lift you up yourselves above the congregation of the LORD?

⁵ Why should I fear in the days of evil, when the iniquity of my heels shall compass around me?

¹ A Psalm or Song for the sons of Korah. His foundation is in the holy mountains. ² The LORD loves the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob.

⁹ They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain: For the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.

¹⁷ But Israel shall be saved in the LORD with an everlasting salvation: You shall not be ashamed nor confounded for all eternity.

¹ "Hear this, O house of Jacob, which are called by the name of Israel, and are come forth out of the waters of Judah, which swear by the name of the LORD, and make mention of the God of Israel, but not in truth, nor in righteousness. ² For they call themselves of the holy city, and stay themselves on the God of Israel; The LORD of hosts is his name.

⁴ Fear not; for you shall not be ashamed: Neither will you be confounded; for you shall not be put to shame: For you shall forget the shame of your youth, and shall not remember the reproach of your widowhood any more.

⁷ For your shame you shall have double honor; and for confusion they shall rejoice in their portion: Therefore in their land they shall possess the double: Everlasting joy shall be to them.

¹³ Therefore thus says the Lord GOD, "Behold, My servants shall eat, but you shall be hungry: Behold, My servants shall drink, but you shall be thirsty: Behold, My servants shall rejoice, but you shall be ashamed: ¹⁴ Behold, My servants shall sing for joy of heart, but you shall cry for sorrow of heart, and shall howl for vexation of spirit.

⁴ Do not trust in lying words, saying, 'The temple of the LORD, The temple of the LORD, The temple of the LORD, are these.'

⁹ Will you steal, murder, and commit adultery, and swear falsely, and burn incense to Baal, and walk after other gods whom you do not know; ¹⁰ and come and stand before Me in this house, which is called by My name, and say, 'We are delivered to do all these abominations?' ¹¹ Has this house, which is called by My name, become a den of robbers in your eyes? Behold, even I have seen it", said the LORD. ¹² "But all of you go now to My place which was in Shiloh, where I set My name at the first, and see what I did to it for the wickedness of My people Israel.

²⁰ As for the beauty of his ornament, he set it in majesty: But they made the images of their abominations and of their detestable things in that place: Therefore have I set it far from them. ²¹ And I will give it into the hands of the strangers for plunder, and to the wicked of the earth for a spoil; and they shall pollute it. ²² I will also turn My face from them, and they shall pollute My secret place: For the robbers shall enter into it, and defile it. ²³ Make a chain: For the land is full of bloody crimes, and the city is full of violence. ²⁴ Therefore I will bring the worst of the heathen, and they shall possess their houses: I will also make the pomp of the strong to cease; and their holy places shall be defiled.

²¹ 'Speak to the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord GOD; "Behold, I will profane My sanctuary, the excellency of your strength, the desire of your eyes, and that which your soul pities; and your sons and your daughters whom you have left shall fall by the sword.

¹⁶ O Lord, I beseech You, according to all Your righteousness, let Your anger and Your fury be turned away from Your city Jerusalem, Your holy mountain: Because of our sins, and for the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and Your people have become a reproach to all those that are around us.

²⁰ And while I was speaking, and praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the LORD my God for the holy mountain of my God;

²⁶ And you shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD your God, that has dealt wondrously with you: And My people shall never be ashamed. ²⁷ And you shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the LORD your God, and none else: And My people shall never be ashamed.

¹⁹ Behold, at that time I will undo all those that afflict you: And I will save her that limps, and gather her that was driven out; and I will get them praise and fame in every land where they have been put to shame. ²⁰ At that time I will bring you back again, even in the time that I gather you: For I will make you a name and a praise among all people of the earth, when I turn back your captivity before your eyes", says the LORD.

⁹ And do not think to say within yourselves, 'We have Abraham as our father': For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones.

¹⁷ Behold, you are called a Jew, and rest in the law, and make your boast in God,

³³ As it is written, "Behold, I lay in Zion a stumbling-stone and rock of offense: And whoever believes on Him shall not be ashamed."

⁶ Therefore it is also contained in the scripture, "Behold, I lay in Zion a chief cornerstone, elect, precious: And he that believes on Him shall not be confounded."

⁴⁰ And the LORD shall help them, and deliver them: He shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in Him.

³² What then shall one answer the messengers of the nation? That the LORD has founded Zion, and the poor of His people shall take refuge in it.

¹⁰ Who is among you that fears the LORD, that obeys the voice of His Servant, that walks in darkness, and has no light? Let him trust in the name of the LORD, and rely upon his God.

¹ The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD has anointed me to preach good tidings to the meek; He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; ² to proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn; ³ to appoint to those who mourn in Zion, to give to them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that He might be glorified.

⁷ The LORD is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and He knows those that trust in Him.

¹¹ And it was broken in that day: And so the poor of the flock that waited upon me knew that it was the word of the LORD.

⁸ And it shall come to pass, that in all the land", says the LORD, "two-thirds in it shall be cut off and die; but one-third shall be left in the land. ⁹ And I will bring the one-third through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will prove them through testing as gold is proved: They shall call on My name, and I will hear them: I will say, 'It is My people': And they shall say, 'The LORD is my God.' "

³ "Blessed are the poor in spirit: For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

⁵ The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.

²¹ And in His name shall the Gentiles trust."

¹² And again, Isaiah said, "There shall be a root of Jesse, and He that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in Him shall the Gentiles trust."

²⁷ But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God has chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; ²⁸ and base things of the world, and things which are despised, God has chosen, yes, and things which are not, to bring to nothing things that are:

¹² That we should be to the praise of His glory, who first trusted in Christ. ¹³ In Whom you also trusted, after that you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: In Whom also after that you believed, you were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise,

⁵ Hearken, my beloved brethren, has not God chosen the poor of this world to be rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which He has promised to those that love Him?

²¹ Who by Him do believe in God, that raised Him up from the dead, and gave Him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.

² He makes me to lie down in green pastures: He leads me beside the still waters.

³ They also do no iniquity: They walk in His ways.

¹³ But yet in it shall be a tenth, and it shall return, and shall be consumed: As a teil tree, and as an oak, whose substance is in them, when they cast their leaves: So the holy seed shall be the substance of it."

²⁰ And it shall come to pass in that day, that the remnant of Israel, and such as have escaped of the house of Jacob, shall lean no more again on him that smote them; but shall lean on the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, in truth. ²¹ The remnant shall return, even the remnant of Jacob, to the mighty God. ²² For though your people Israel are as the sand of the sea, yet a remnant of them shall return: The decreed destruction shall overflow with righteousness.

⁶ The wolf shall also dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatted calf together; and a little child shall lead them. ⁷ And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: And the lion shall eat straw like the ox. ⁸ And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den. ⁹ They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain: For the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.

² The cities of Aroer are forsaken: They shall be for flocks, which shall lie down, and no one shall make them afraid.

⁸ And a highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: The wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err in it.

¹⁴ In righteousness shall you be established: You shall be far from oppression; for you shall not fear: And far from terror; for it shall not come near you.

²¹ Your people shall all be righteous also: They shall inherit the land forever, the branch of My planting, the work of My hands, that I may be glorified.

¹⁰ And Sharon shall be a fold of flocks, and the valley of Achor a place for the herds to lie down in, for My people that have sought Me.

⁴ And I will set up shepherds over them who shall feed them: And they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, neither shall they be lacking", said the LORD.

¹⁰ Therefore fear not, O My servant Jacob', said the LORD; 'neither be dismayed, O Israel: For lo, I will save you from afar, and your seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and shall be in rest, and be quiet, and none shall make him afraid.

³³ "But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days", said the LORD, "I will put My law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be My people.

¹³ And I will bring them out from the people, and gather them from the countries, and will bring them to their own land, and feed them upon the mountains of Israel by the rivers, and in all the inhabited places of the country. ¹⁴ I will feed them in a good pasture, and their fold shall be on the high mountains of Israel: They shall lie there in a good fold, and in a fat pasture they shall feed upon the mountains of Israel. ¹⁵ I will feed My flock, and I will cause them to lie down", said the Lord GOD.

²³ And I will set up one shepherd over them, and he shall feed them, even My servant David; he shall feed them, and he shall be their shepherd. ²⁴ And I the LORD will be their God, and My servant David a prince among them; I the LORD have spoken it. ²⁵ And I will make a covenant of peace with them, and will cause the evil beasts to cease out of the land: And they shall dwell safely in the wilderness, and sleep in the woods. ²⁶ And I will make them and the places around My hill a blessing; and I will cause the shower to come down in his season; there shall be showers of blessing. ²⁷ And the tree of the field shall yield her fruit, and the earth shall yield her increase, and they shall be safe in their land, and shall know that I am the LORD, when I have broken the bands of their yoke, and delivered them out of the hand of those who served themselves of them. ²⁸ And they shall no longer be a prey to the heathen, neither shall the wild beast of the land devour them; but they shall dwell safely, and none shall make them afraid.

²⁵ Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean: I will cleanse you from all your filthiness, and from all your idols. ²⁶ I will also give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you: And I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh. ²⁷ And I will put My spirit within you, and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you shall keep My judgments, and do them.

²⁶ after they have borne their shame, and all their trespasses by which they have trespassed against Me, when they dwelled safely in their land, and none made them afraid.

¹⁷ "So shall you know that I am the LORD your God dwelling in Zion, My holy mountain: Then Jerusalem shall be holy, and no strangers shall pass through her any more.

²¹ For I will cleanse their blood which I have not cleansed: For the LORD dwells in Zion."

⁴ But they shall sit, every man, under his vine and under his fig tree; and none shall make them afraid: For the mouth of the LORD of hosts has spoken it.

⁷ and I will make her that limped a remnant, and her that was cast far off a strong nation: And the LORD shall reign over them in Mount Zion from now on, even forever.

⁴ And He shall stand and feed in the strength of the LORD, in the majesty of the name of the LORD His God; and they shall abide: For now He shall be great to the ends of the earth. ⁵ And this Man shall be the peace, when the Assyrian shall come into our land: And when he shall tread in our palaces, then we shall raise against him seven shepherds, and eight principal men.principal: In Hebrew, princes of

¹⁴ Feed your people with your rod, the flock of your heritage, which dwell solitarily in the woods, in the middle of Carmel: Let them feed in Bashan and Gilead, as in the days of old.

⁷ And the coast shall be for the remnant of the house of Judah; they shall feed there: In the houses of Ashkelon they shall lie down in the evening: For the LORD their God shall visit them, and turn away their captivity.

²⁰ In that day there shall be upon the bells of the horses, "HOLINESS TO THE LORD"; and the pots in the LORD's house shall be like the bowls before the altar. ²¹ Yes, every pot in Jerusalem and in Judah shall be holiness to the LORD of hosts: And all those that sacrifice shall come and take of them, and boil in them: And in that day there shall no longer be the Canaanite in the house of the LORD of hosts.

⁴¹ The Son of Man shall send forth His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those which do iniquity;

⁴⁷ Jesus saw Nathanael coming to Him, and said of him, "Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile!"

⁴ But what does God say to answer him? "I have reserved for Myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal." ⁵ Even so then, at this present time there is also a remnant according to the election of grace. ⁶ And if by grace, then it is no longer of works: Otherwise grace is no longer grace. But if it is of works, then it is no longer grace: Otherwise work is no longer work. ⁷ What then? Israel has not obtained that which he seeks after; but the chosen have obtained it, and the rest were blinded.

⁹ Do not lie to one another, seeing that you all have put off the old man with his deeds;you all: In KJV, ye; hence "you all" signifies a plural "you"

¹⁴ But even if you suffer for righteousness' sake, you are happier: "And do not be afraid of their terror, neither be troubled";

⁹ Whoever is born of God does not commit sin; for His seed remains in him: And he cannot sin, because he is born of God. ¹⁰ In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: Whoever does not perform righteousness is not of God, neither is he that does not love his brother.

¹⁸ We know that whoever is born of God does not sin; but he who is begotten of God keeps himself, and that wicked one does not touch him.

¹⁵ Therefore they are before the throne of God, and serve Him day and night in His temple: And He that sits on the throne shall dwell among them. ¹⁶ They shall hunger no more, neither thirst anymore; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat. ¹⁷ For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them to living fountains of waters: And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes."

⁵ And no guile was found in their mouths: For they are without fault before the throne of God.

⁸ But the fearful, unbelieving, the abominable, murderers, whoremongers, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone: Which is the second death."

²⁷ And there shall in no case enter into it anything that defiles, neither anything that works abomination, or makes a lie: But those which are written in the Lamb's Book of Life.

¹¹ And they sang together by course in praising and giving thanks to the LORD; because he is good, for his mercy endures forever toward Israel. And all the people shouted with a great shout, when they praised the LORD, because the foundation of the house of the LORD was laid. ¹² But many of the priests and Levites and chief of the fathers, who were ancient men, that had seen the first house, when the foundation of this house was laid before their eyes, wept with a loud voice; and many shouted aloud for joy: ¹³ So that the people could not discern the noise of the shout of joy from the noise of the weeping of the people: For the people shouted with a loud shout, and the noise was heard afar off.

⁴³ Also that day they offered great sacrifices, and rejoiced: For God had made them rejoice with great joy: The wives also and the children rejoiced: So that the joy of Jerusalem was heard even afar off.

⁷ Oh that the salvation of Israel were to come out of Zion! When the LORD brings back the captivity of His people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.

⁵ God has gone up with a shout, the LORD with the sound of a trumpet. ⁶ Sing praises to God, sing praises: Sing praises to our King, sing praises. ⁷ For God is the King of all the earth: Sing praises with understanding.

¹ To the chief Musician upon Gittith, A Psalm of Asaph. Sing aloud to God our strength: Make a joyful noise to the God of Jacob. ² Take a psalm, and bring the timbrel to this place, the pleasant harp with the psaltery. ³ Blow upward the trumpet in the new moon, at the time appointed, on our solemn feast day,

¹ O come, let us sing to the LORD: Let us make a joyful noise to the Rock of our salvation. ² Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise to Him with psalms.

¹ A Psalm of praise. Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all you lands.praise; or, thanksgivingall you lands: In Hebrew, all the earth ² Serve the LORD with gladness: Come before His presence with singing.

² Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing; then they said among the heathen, "The LORD has done great things for them." ³ The LORD has done great things for us; of which we are glad.

¹⁴ They shall lift up their voice, they shall sing for the majesty of the LORD, they shall cry aloud from the sea. ¹⁵ Why do you glorify the LORD in the fires, even the name of the LORD God of Israel in the isles of the sea. ¹⁶ From the uttermost part of the earth have we heard songs, even glory to the righteous. But I said, "My leanness, my leanness, woe to me! The treacherous dealers have dealt treacherously; yes, the treacherous dealers have dealt very treacherously.

² It shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice even with joy and singing: The glory of Lebanon shall be given to it, the excellency of Carmel and Sharon, they shall see the glory of the LORD, and the excellency of our God.

⁹ O Zion, that brings good tidings, get up into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, that brings good tidings, lift up your voice with strength; lift it up, do not be afraid; say to the cities of Judah, "Behold your God!"

¹⁰ Sing to the LORD a new song, and His praise from the end of the earth, you who go down to the sea, and all that is in it; the isles, and their inhabitants. ¹¹ Let the wilderness and its cities lift up their voice, the villages that Kedar inhabits: Let the inhabitants of the rock sing, let them shout from the top of the mountains. ¹² Let them give glory to the LORD, and declare His praise in the islands.

¹¹ Therefore the redeemed of the LORD shall return, and come with singing to Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: They shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away.

¹ "Sing, O barren, you who did not bear; break forth into singing, and cry aloud, you who did not travail with child: For more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife", said the LORD.

¹⁸ But all of you be glad and rejoice forever in what I create: For, behold, I create Jerusalem as a rejoicing, and her people a joy. ¹⁹ And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in My people: And the voice of weeping shall no longer be heard in her, nor the voice of crying.

¹⁹ And out of them shall proceed thanksgiving and the voice of those who make merry: And I will multiply them, and they shall not be few; I will also glorify them, and they shall not be small.

¹³ Then the virgin shall rejoice in the dance, both young men and old together: For I will turn their mourning into joy, and will comfort them, and make them rejoice from their sorrow.

¹¹ the voice of joy, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the voice of those that shall say, "Praise the LORD of hosts: For the LORD is good; for his mercy endures forever": And of those that shall bring the sacrifice of praise into the house of the LORD. For I will cause to return the captivity of the land, as at the first', said the LORD.

⁸ And you, O tower of the flock, the stronghold of the daughter of Zion, to you it shall come, even the first dominion; the kingdom shall come to the daughter of Jerusalem."

¹⁰ Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion: For lo, I come, and I will dwell in the midst of you", says the LORD. ¹¹ "And many nations shall be joined to the LORD in that day, and shall be My people: And I will dwell in the midst of you, and you shall know that the LORD of hosts has sent me to you.

⁹ Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: Behold, your King comes to you: He is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon a donkey, and upon a colt, the foal of a donkey. ¹⁰ And I will cut off the chariot from Ephraim, and the horse from Jerusalem, and the battle bow shall be cut off: And He shall speak peace to the heathen: And His dominion shall be from sea even to sea, and from the river even to the ends of the earth.

¹⁵ The LORD of hosts shall defend them; and they shall devour, and subdue with sling stones; and they shall drink, and make a noise as through wine; and they shall be filled like bowls, and as the corners of the altar. ¹⁶ And the LORD their God shall save them in that day as the flock of His people: For they shall be as the stones of a crown, lifted up as an ensign upon His land. ¹⁷ For how great is His goodness, and how great is His beauty! Grain kernels shall make the young men cheerful, and new wine the virgins.

⁹ And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried out, saying: "Hosanna to the Son of David: Blessed is He that comes in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest."

¹⁰ Then the angel said to them, "Do not fear: For behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. ¹¹ For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. ¹² And this shall be a sign to you; you shall find the Babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger." ¹³ Then suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, ¹⁴ "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men."

¹ And after these things I heard a great voice of many people in heaven, saying, "Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honor, and power, to the Lord our God: ² For His judgments are true and righteous: For He has judged the great whore, which corrupted the earth with her fornication, and has avenged the blood of His servants at her hand." ³ And again they said, "Alleluia. And her smoke rose up forever and ever." ⁴ And the twenty-four elders and the four beasts fell down and worshiped God that sat on the throne, saying, "Amen; Alleluia." ⁵ Then a voice came out of the throne, saying, "Praise our God, all you His servants, and you that fear Him, both small and great." ⁶ And I heard as it were the voice of a large multitude, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, "Alleluia: For the Lord God Omnipotent reigns.

²³ And she conceived, and bore a son; and said, "God has taken away my reproach":

³ You have taken away all Your wrath: You have turned Yourself from the fierceness of Your anger.

¹ The burden of Babylon, which Isaiah the son of Amoz saw. ² Lift up a banner on the high mountain, exalt the voice to them, shake the hand, that they may go into the gates of the nobles. ³ I have commanded My sanctified ones, I have also called My mighty ones for My anger, even them that rejoice in My highness. ⁴ The noise of a multitude in the mountains, as of a great people; a tumultuous noise of the kingdoms of nations gathered together: The LORD of hosts musters the host of the battle. ⁵ They come from a far country, from the end of heaven, even the LORD, and the weapons of His indignation, to destroy the whole land. ⁶ Howl all of you; for the day of the LORD is at hand; it shall come as a destruction from the Almighty. ⁷ Therefore all hands shall be faint, and every man's heart shall melt: ⁸ And they shall be afraid: Pangs and sorrows shall take hold of them; they shall be in pain as a woman that travails: They shall be amazed at one another; their faces shall be as flames. ⁹ Behold, the day of the LORD comes, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: And He shall destroy its sinners out of it. ¹⁰ For the stars of heaven and their constellations shall not give light: The sun shall be darkened in His going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine. ¹¹ And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogance of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible. ¹² I will make a man more precious than fine gold; a man even more than the golden wedge of Ophir. ¹³ Therefore I will shake heaven, and the earth shall move out of her place, in the wrath of the LORD of hosts, and in the day of His fierce anger. ¹⁴ And it shall be as the chased roe, and as a sheep that no man takes shepherds: Every man shall turn to his own people, and everyone flee into his own land.

⁸ He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and He shall take away the rebuke of His people from off all the earth: For the LORD has spoken it.

²² For the LORD is our judge, the LORD is our Lawgiver, the LORD is our King; He will save us.

¹⁰ And the ransomed of the LORD shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: They shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.

¹ "Comfort all of you, comfort my people", said your God. ² "Speak comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry to her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned: For she has received from the LORD's hand double for all her sins."

²² Thus said your Lord the LORD, and your God that pleads the cause of His people, "Behold, I have taken out of your hand the cup of trembling, even the dregs of the cup of My fury; you shall no more drink it again:

¹⁸ Violence shall no longer be heard in your land, neither wasting nor destruction within your borders; but you shall call your walls Salvation, and your gates Praise.

¹⁹ And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in My people: And the voice of weeping shall no longer be heard in her, nor the voice of crying.

¹ The word that the LORD spoke against Babylon and against the land of the Chaldeans by Jeremiah the prophet. ² "Declare among the nations, and publish, and set up a standard; publish, and do not conceal: Say, 'Babylon is taken, Bel is confounded, Merodach is broken in pieces; her idols are confounded, her images are broken in pieces.' ³ For out of the north there comes up a nation against her, which shall make her land desolate, and none shall dwell in it: They shall move, they shall depart, both man and beast. ⁴ In those days, and at that time", said the LORD, "the children of Israel shall come, they and the children of Judah together, going and weeping: They shall go, and seek the LORD their God. ⁵ They shall ask the way to Zion with their faces towards it, saying, 'Come, and let us join ourselves to the LORD in a perpetual covenant that shall not be forgotten.' ⁶ My people have been lost sheep: Their shepherds have caused them to go astray, they have turned them away upon the mountains: They have gone from mountain to hill, they have forgotten their resting place. ⁷ All who found them have devoured them: And their adversaries said, 'We do not offend, because they have sinned against the LORD, the habitation of justice, even the LORD, the hope of their fathers.' ⁸ Remove out of the midst of Babylon, and go forth out of the land of the Chaldeans, and be as the he-goats before the flocks. ⁹ For lo, I will raise and cause to come up against Babylon an assembly of great nations from the north country: And they shall set themselves in array against her; from there she shall be taken: Their arrows shall be as of a mighty expert man; none shall return in vain. ¹⁰ And Chaldea shall be a spoil: All that spoil her shall be satisfied", said the LORD. ¹¹ "Because you were glad, because you rejoiced, O you destroyers of My heritage, because you have grown fat like a heifer in the grass, and bellow like bulls; ¹² your mother shall be greatly confounded; she who bore you shall be ashamed: Behold, the last of the nations shall be a wilderness, a dry land, and a desert. ¹³ Because of the wrath of the LORD it shall not be inhabited, but it shall be wholly desolate: Everyone who goes by Babylon shall be astonished, and hiss at all her plagues. ¹⁴ Put yourselves in array against Babylon on every side: All you who bend the bow, shoot at her, spare no arrows: For she has sinned against the LORD. ¹⁵ Shout against her from every side: She has given her hand: Her foundations have fallen, her walls are thrown down: For it is the vengeance of the LORD: Take vengeance on her; as she has done, do to her. ¹⁶ Cut off the sower from Babylon, and him who handles the sickle in the time of harvest: For fear of the oppressing sword everyone shall turn to his people, and everyone shall flee to his own land. ¹⁷ Israel is as scattered sheep; the lions have driven him away: First the king of Assyria has devoured him; and last this Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon has broken his bones." ¹⁸ Therefore thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; "Behold, I will punish the king of Babylon and his land, as I have punished the king of Assyria. ¹⁹ And I will bring Israel to his habitation again, and he shall feed on Carmel and Bashan, and his soul shall be satisfied upon Mount Ephraim and Gilead. ²⁰ In those days, and at that time", said the LORD, "the iniquity of Israel shall be sought for, and there shall be none; and the sins of Judah, and they shall not be found: For I will pardon them whom I preserve. ²¹ Go up against the land of Merathaim, even against it, and against the inhabitants of Pekod: Waste and utterly destroy after them", said the LORD, "and do according to all that I have commanded you. ²² A sound of battle is in the land, and of great destruction. ²³ How the hammer of the whole earth is cut asunder and broken! How Babylon has become a desolation among the nations! ²⁴ I have laid a snare for you, and you are also taken, O Babylon, and you were not aware: You are found, and also caught, because you have strived against the LORD. ²⁵ The LORD has opened His armory, and has brought forth the weapons of His indignation: For this is the work of the Lord GOD of hosts in the land of the Chaldeans. ²⁶ Come against her from the utmost border, open her storehouses: Cast her up as heaps, and destroy her utterly: Let nothing be left of her. ²⁷ Slay all her bulls; let them go down to the slaughter: Woe to them! For their day has come, the time of their visitation. ²⁸ The voice of those who flee and escape out of the land of Babylon, to declare in Zion the vengeance of the LORD our God, the vengeance of His temple. ²⁹ Call together the archers against Babylon: All you who bend the bow, camp against it all around; let none of them escape: Recompense her according to her work; according to all that she has done, do to her: For she has been proud against the LORD, against the Holy One of Israel. ³⁰ Therefore her young men shall fall in the streets, and all her men of war shall be cut off in that day", said the LORD. ³¹ "Behold, I am against you, O you most proud", said the Lord GOD of hosts: "for your day has come, the time that I will visit you. ³² And the most proud shall stumble and fall, and none shall raise him up: And I will kindle a fire in his cities, and it shall devour all around him." ³³ Thus says the LORD of hosts; "The children of Israel and the children of Judah were oppressed together: And all who took them captives held them fast; they refused to let them go. ³⁴ Their Redeemer is strong; the LORD of hosts is His name: He shall thoroughly plead their cause, that He may give rest to the land, and disquiet the inhabitants of Babylon. ³⁵ A sword is upon the Chaldeans", said the LORD, "and upon the inhabitants of Babylon, and upon her princes, and upon her wise men. ³⁶ A sword is upon the liars; and they shall become fools: A sword is upon her mighty men; and they shall be dismayed. ³⁷ A sword is upon their horses, and upon their chariots, and upon all the mingled people who are in the midst of her; and they shall become as women: A sword is upon her treasures; and they shall be robbed. ³⁸ A drought is upon her waters; and they shall be dried up: For it is the land of graven images, and they are insane with their idols. ³⁹ Therefore the wild beasts of the desert with the wild beasts of the islands shall dwell there, and the owls shall dwell in it: And it shall no longer be inhabited forever; neither shall it be dwelled in from generation to generation. ⁴⁰ As God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah and its neighbor cities", said the LORD; "so shall no man abide there, neither shall any son of man dwell in it. ⁴¹ Behold, a people shall come from the north, and a great nation, and many kings shall be raised up from the borders of the earth. ⁴² They shall hold the bow and the lance: They are cruel, and will not show mercy: Their voice shall roar like the sea, and they shall ride on horses, everyone put in array like a man to the battle, against you O daughter of Babylon. ⁴³ The king of Babylon has heard the report of them, and his hands waxed feeble: Anguish took hold of him, and pangs as of a woman in travail. ⁴⁴ Behold, he shall come up like a lion from the swelling of Jordan to the habitation of the strong: But I will make them suddenly run away from her: And who is a chosen man, that I may appoint over her? For who is like Me? And who will appoint Me the time? And who is that shepherd who will stand before Me?" ⁴⁵ Therefore hear the counsel of the LORD, that He has taken against Babylon; and His purposes, that He has purposed against the land of the Chaldeans: Surely the least of the flock shall draw them out: Surely He shall make their habitation desolate with them. ⁴⁶ At the noise of the taking of Babylon the earth is moved, and the cry is heard among the nations.

²⁴ And David My servant shall be king over them; and they shall all have one shepherd: They shall also walk in My judgments, and observe My statutes, and do them. ²⁵ And they shall dwell in the land that I have given to Jacob My servant, in which your fathers have dwelled; and they shall dwell in it, even they and their children, and their children's children forever: And My servant David shall be their prince forever. ²⁶ Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them; it shall be an everlasting covenant with them: And I will place them, and multiply them, and will set My sanctuary in the midst of them forevermore. ²⁷ My tabernacle also shall be with them: Yes, I will be their God, and they shall be My people. ²⁸ And the heathen shall know that I the LORD do sanctify Israel, when My sanctuary shall be in the midst of them forevermore." ' "

²⁹ Neither will I hide My face from them any more: For I have poured out My spirit upon the house of Israel', says the Lord GOD."

²⁰ But Judah shall dwell forever, and Jerusalem from generation to generation. ²¹ For I will cleanse their blood which I have not cleansed: For the LORD dwells in Zion."

¹⁵ And I will plant them upon their land, and they shall no longer be pulled up out of their land which I have given them", says the LORD your God.

¹⁰ Then she that is my enemy shall see it, and shame shall cover her who said to me, "Where is the LORD your God?" My eyes shall behold her: Now she shall be trodden down as the mire of the streets.

¹⁶ The nations shall see and be confounded at all their might: They shall lay their hand upon their mouth, their ears shall be deaf. ¹⁷ They shall lick the dust like a serpent, they shall move out of their holes like worms of the earth: They shall be afraid of the LORD our God, and shall fear because of You. ¹⁸ Who is a God like You, that pardons iniquity, and passes by the transgression of the remnant of His heritage? He does not maintain His anger forever, because He delights in mercy. ¹⁹ He will return again, He will have compassion upon us; He will subdue our iniquities; and You will cast all their sins into the depths of the sea. ²⁰ You will perform the truth to Jacob, and the mercy to Abraham, which You have sworn to our fathers from the days of old.

⁸ Because you have spoiled many nations, all the remnant of the people shall spoil you; because of men's blood, and for the violence of the land, of the city, and of all that dwell in it.

¹⁷ For the violence of Lebanon shall cover you, and the spoil of beasts, which made them afraid, because of men's blood, and for the violence of the land, of the city, and of all that dwell in it.

⁵ The just LORD is in the midst of it; He will not do iniquity: Every morning He brings His judgment to light, He does not fail; but the unjust knows no shame.Every morning: In Hebrew, Morning by morning

¹⁴ So the angel that communed with me said to me, "Cry out, saying, 'Thus says the LORD of hosts; "I am jealous for Jerusalem and for Zion with a great jealousy. ¹⁵ And I am very sorely displeased with the heathen that are at ease: For I was only a little displeased, and they helped advance the affliction." ¹⁶ Therefore thus says the LORD; "I have returned to Jerusalem with mercies: My house shall be built in it", says the LORD of hosts, "and a line shall be stretched forth upon Jerusalem." '

⁸ For thus says the LORD of hosts; "After the glory, He has sent me to the nations which plundered you: For he that touches you touches the apple of His eye. ⁹ For behold, I will shake My hand upon them, and they shall be a pillage to their servants: And you all shall know that the LORD of hosts has sent me.

¹³ And it shall come to pass, that as you all were a curse among the heathen, O house of Judah, and house of Israel; to that degree I will save you, and all of you shall be a blessing: Fear not, but let your hands be strong.' ¹⁴ For thus says the LORD of hosts; 'As I thought to punish you, when your fathers provoked Me to wrath,' says the LORD of hosts, 'and I did not repent: ¹⁵ So again I have thought in these days to do well to Jerusalem and to the house of Judah: Fear not, all of you.

⁶ And I will strengthen the house of Judah, and I will save the house of Joseph, and I will bring them back again to place and settle them; for I have mercy upon them: And they shall be as though I had not cast them off: For I am the LORD their God, and will hear them. ⁷ And those of Ephraim shall be like a mighty man, and their heart shall rejoice as through wine: Yes, their children shall see it, and be glad; their heart shall rejoice in the LORD.

³ And in that day I will make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: All that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.

¹¹ And men shall dwell in it, and there shall be no more utter destruction; but Jerusalem shall be safely inhabited.

⁴⁹ Nathanael answered and said to Him, "Rabbi, You are the Son of God; You are the King of Israel."

¹⁵ "Fear not, daughter of Zion: Behold, your King comes, sitting on a donkey's colt."

¹⁹ Now Pilate wrote a title, and put it on the cross. And the writing was, JESUS OF NAZARETH THE KING OF THE JEWS.

³³ Who shall blame God's elect? It is God that justifies. ³⁴ Who is he that condemns? It is Christ that died, now rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.

¹⁵ Therefore they are before the throne of God, and serve Him day and night in His temple: And He that sits on the throne shall dwell among them.

¹⁰ Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, "Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come: For the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.

¹⁶ And He has on His vesture and on His thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

³ And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, "Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself shall be with them, and be their God. ⁴ And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: For the former things are passed away."

³ Behold, you have instructed many, and you have strengthened the weak hands.

³ Strengthen the weak hands, and confirm the feeble knees. ⁴ Say to those that are of a fearful heart, "Be strong, fear not: Behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompense; He will come and save you."

¹⁰ Fear not; for I am with you: Be not dismayed; for I am your God: I will strengthen you; yes, I will help you; yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of My righteousness.'

¹³ For I the LORD your God will hold your right hand, saying to you, 'Fear not; I will help you. ¹⁴ Fear not, you worm Jacob, and you men of Israel; I will help you' ", said the LORD, and your redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.

¹ But now thus says the LORD that created you, O Jacob, and He that formed you, O Israel, "Fear not: For I have redeemed you, I have called you by your name; you are Mine. ² When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you: When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle on you.

² Thus says the LORD that made you, and formed you from the womb, who will help you; Fear not, O Jacob, My servant; and you, Jesurun, whom I have chosen.

²⁷ "But do not fear, O My servant Jacob, and do not be dismayed, O Israel: For, behold, I will save you from afar off, and your seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and be in rest and at ease, and none shall make him afraid. ²⁸ Do not fear, O Jacob My servant", said the LORD: "for I am with you; for I will make a full end of all the nations where I have driven you: But I will not make a full end of you, but correct you in measure; yet I will not leave you wholly unpunished."

⁴ Yet now be strong, O Zerubbabel,' says the LORD; 'and be strong, O Joshua, son of Josedech, the high priest; and be strong, all you people of the land', says the LORD, 'and work: For I am with you', says the LORD of hosts: ⁵ 'According to the word that I covenanted with you when all of you came out of Egypt, so My Spirit remains among you: Fear not.'

¹⁵ So again I have thought in these days to do well to Jerusalem and to the house of Judah: Fear not, all of you.

¹² On the next day many people who had come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,

¹ Therefore, seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we do not faint;

⁹ And let us not be weary in well doing: For in due season we shall reap, if we do not faint.

¹³ Therefore I desire that you do not faint at my tribulations for you, which is your glory.

³ For consider Him that endured such contradiction from sinners against Himself, lest you be wearied and faint in your minds. ⁴ You have not yet resisted to the point of blood, striving against sin. ⁵ And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as to children, "My son, do not despise the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when you are rebuked by Him:

¹² Therefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees;

³ And have supported, and have patience, and have labored for My name's sake, and have not fainted.

³¹ And God saw every thing that He had made, and behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

² And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had made; and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had made.

¹ And when Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said to him, "I am the Almighty God; walk before Me, and be perfect.

¹⁴ Is anything too hard for the LORD? At the time appointed I will return to you, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son."

⁸ If the LORD delight in us, then he will bring us into this land, and give it us; a land which flows with milk and honey.

⁹ And the LORD your God will make you plenteous in every work of your hand, in the fruit of your body, and in the fruit of your domestic beasts, and in the fruit of your land, for good: For the LORD will again rejoice over you for good, as he rejoiced over your fathers:

⁸ Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle. ⁹ Lift up your heads, O you gates; even lift them up, you everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. ¹⁰ Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, He is the King of glory. Selah.

¹¹ The LORD takes pleasure in those who fear Him, in those that hope in His mercy.

⁴ For the LORD takes pleasure in His people: He will beautify the meek with salvation.

⁶ For to us a Child is born, to us a Son is given: And the government shall be upon His shoulder: And His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

² Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: For the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; He also has become my salvation.

⁴ For so the LORD said to me, "I will take My rest, and I will consider in My dwelling place like a clear heat upon herbs, and like a cloud of dew in the heat of harvest."

⁴ You shall no longer be termed Forsaken; neither shall your land any more be termed Desolate: But you shall be called Hephzibah, and your land Beulah: For the LORD delights in you, and your land shall be married. ⁵ For as a young man marries a virgin, so shall your sons marry you: And as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so shall your God rejoice over you.

¹ Who is this who comes from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? This one who is glorious in His apparel, traveling in the greatness of His strength? "I who speak in righteousness, mighty to save."

¹² That led them by the right hand of Moses with His glorious arm, dividing the water before them, to make Himself an everlasting name?

⁴¹ Yes, I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will plant them in this land assuredly with My whole heart and with My whole soul.'

⁵ And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. ⁶ And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, 'Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost.'

²³ And bring here the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry: ²⁴ For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found.' And they began to be merry.

³² It was proper that we should make merry, and be glad: For your brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.' "

¹ Now before the Feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that His hour had come that He should depart out of this world to the Father, having loved His own who were in the world, He loved them to the end.

¹¹ These things I have spoken to you, that My joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.

²⁵ Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those that come to God by Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.

² My soul thirsts for God, for the living God: When shall I come and appear before God? ³ My tears have been my food day and night, while they continually say to me, "Where is your God?" ⁴ When I remember these things, I pour out my soul within me: For I had gone with the multitude, I went with them to the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise, with a multitude that kept the holy day.

³ O send out Your light and Your truth: Let them lead me; let them bring me to Your holy hill, and to Your tabernacles.

¹ A Psalm of David, when he was in the wilderness of Judah. O God, You are my God; early will I seek You: My soul thirsts for You, my flesh longs for You in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is; ² to see Your power and Your glory, such as I have seen You in the sanctuary.

¹ To the Chief Musician upon Gittith, A Psalm for the sons of Korah. How amiable are Your tabernacles, O LORD of hosts! ² My soul longs, yes, even faints for the courts of the LORD: My heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.

³ For those that carried us away captive required a song from us there; and those that wasted us required mirth from us, saying, "Sing us one of the songs of Zion." ⁴ How shall we sing the LORD'S song in a strange land? ⁵ If I forget you, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget her cunning. ⁶ If I do not remember you, let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth; if I do not prefer Jerusalem above my chief joy.

³ And I will gather the remnant of My flock out of all countries where I have driven them, and will bring them again to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and increase.

⁸ Behold, I will bring them from the north country, and gather them from the borders of the earth, and with them the blind and the lame, the woman with child and her who labors with child together: A great company shall return there. ⁹ They shall come with weeping, and with supplications I will lead them: I will cause them to walk by the rivers of waters in a straight way in which they shall not stumble: For I am a Father to Israel, and Ephraim is My firstborn.

⁴ The roads of Zion mourn, because no one comes to the solemn feasts: All her gates are desolate: Her priests sigh, her virgins are afflicted, and she is in bitterness.

⁷ Jerusalem remembered in the days of her affliction and of her miseries all her pleasant things that she had in the days of old, when her people fell into the hand of the enemy, and no one helped her: The adversaries saw her, and mocked at her Sabbaths.

⁶ And He has violently taken away His tabernacle, as if it were a garden: He has destroyed His places of the assembly: The LORD has caused the solemn feasts and Sabbaths to be forgotten in Zion, and has despised the king and the priest in the indignation of His anger. ⁷ The LORD has cast off His altar, He has abhorred His sanctuary, He has given up into the hand of the enemy the walls of her palaces; they have made a noise in the house of the LORD, as in the day of a solemn feast.

¹³ And I will bring them out from the people, and gather them from the countries, and will bring them to their own land, and feed them upon the mountains of Israel by the rivers, and in all the inhabited places of the country.

²⁴ For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land.

¹¹ Then the children of Judah and the children of Israel shall be gathered together, and appoint themselves one head, and they shall come up out of the land: For great shall be the day of Jezreel."

⁵ What will you do in the solemn day, and in the day of the feast of the LORD?

²⁰ At that time I will bring you back again, even in the time that I gather you: For I will make you a name and a praise among all people of the earth, when I turn back your captivity before your eyes", says the LORD.

²⁵ For I do not intend, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part has happened to Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. ²⁶ And so all Israel shall be saved: As it is written, "There shall come out of Zion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:

⁹ And it shall be said in that day, "See, this is our God; we have waited for Him, and He will save us: This is the LORD; we have waited for Him, we will be glad and rejoice in His salvation." ¹⁰ For the hand of the LORD shall rest on this mountain, and Moab shall be trodden down under Him, even as straw is trodden down for the dunghill. ¹¹ And He shall spread forth His hands in the midst of them, as he who swims spreads forth his hands to swim: And He shall bring down their pride together with the spoils of their hands. ¹² And the fortress of the high fort of your walls shall he bring down, lay low, and bring to the ground, even to the dust.

¹¹ LORD, when Your hand is lifted up, they will not see: But they shall see, and be ashamed for their envy of the people; yes, the fire of Your enemies shall devour them.

¹¹ Behold, all they who were incensed against you shall be ashamed and confounded: They shall be as nothing; and those who strive with you shall perish. ¹² You shall seek them, and shall not find them, even they who contended with you: Those who war against you shall be as nothing, and as a thing of nothing. ¹³ For I the LORD your God will hold your right hand, saying to you, 'Fear not; I will help you. ¹⁴ Fear not, you worm Jacob, and you men of Israel; I will help you' ", said the LORD, and your redeemer, the Holy One of Israel. ¹⁵ Behold, I will make you a new sharp threshing instrument having teeth: You shall thresh the mountains, and beat them small, and shall make the hills as chaff. ¹⁶ You shall fan them, and the wind shall carry them away, and the whirlwind shall scatter them: And you shall rejoice in the LORD, and shall glory in the Holy One of Israel.

¹⁴ Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; For your sake I have sent to Babylon, and have brought down all their nobles, and the Chaldeans, whose cry is in the ships. ¹⁵ I am the LORD, your Holy One, the creator of Israel, your King. ¹⁶ Thus says the LORD, which makes a way in the sea, and a path in the mighty waters; ¹⁷ who brings forth the chariot and horse, the army and the power; they shall lie down together, they shall not rise: They are extinct, they are quenched as wick.

²⁵ But thus says the LORD, "Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: For I will contend with him who contends with you, and I will save your children. ²⁶ And I will feed those who oppress you with their own flesh; and they shall be drunken with their own blood, as with sweet wine: And all flesh shall know that I the LORD am your Savior and your Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob."

²² Thus said your Lord the LORD, and your God that pleads the cause of His people, "Behold, I have taken out of your hand the cup of trembling, even the dregs of the cup of My fury; you shall no more drink it again: ²³ But I will put it into the hand of those who afflict you; who have said to your soul, 'Bow down, that we may go over': And you have laid your body as the ground, and as the street, to those who went over."

¹⁴ Also the sons of those who afflicted you shall come bending to you; and all those who despised you shall bow themselves down at the soles of your feet; and they shall call you; The city of the LORD, The Zion of the Holy One of Israel.

⁷ and give Him no rest, until he establishes, and until He makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth.

¹⁴ And when you see this, your heart shall rejoice, and your bones shall flourish like a herb: And the hand of the LORD shall be known toward His servants, and His indignation toward His enemies. ¹⁵ For, behold, the LORD will come with fire, and with His chariots like a whirlwind, to render His anger with fury, and His rebuke with flames of fire. ¹⁶ For by fire and by His sword the LORD will plead with all flesh: And the slain of the LORD shall be many.

¹⁶ Therefore all they who devour you shall be devoured; and all your adversaries, every one of them, shall go into captivity; and they who spoil you shall be a spoil, and all who prey upon you I will make a prey.

⁸ Behold, I will bring them from the north country, and gather them from the borders of the earth, and with them the blind and the lame, the woman with child and her who labors with child together: A great company shall return there.

⁹ And it shall be to Me a name of joy, a praise and an honor before all the nations of the earth, which shall hear all the good that I do to them: And they shall fear and tremble for all the goodness and for all the prosperity that I procure to it.'

²⁸ Do not fear, O Jacob My servant", said the LORD: "for I am with you; for I will make a full end of all the nations where I have driven you: But I will not make a full end of you, but correct you in measure; yet I will not leave you wholly unpunished."

³⁵ The violence done to me and to my flesh be on Babylon", shall the inhabitant of Zion say; "and my blood be upon the inhabitants of Chaldea", shall Jerusalem say. ³⁶ Therefore thus says the LORD; "Behold, I will plead your cause, and take vengeance for you; and I will dry up her sea, and make her springs dry.

¹⁶ "I will seek those who were lost, and bring back those who were driven away, and will bind up those who were broken, and will strengthen those who were sick: But I will destroy the fat and the strong; I will feed them with judgment.

¹⁷ "And, you son of man, thus says the Lord GOD; 'Speak to every feathered fowl, and to every wild beast of the field, "Assemble yourselves, and come; gather yourselves on every side to My sacrifice that I sacrifice for you, even a great sacrifice upon the mountains of Israel, that you may eat flesh, and drink blood. ¹⁸ You shall eat the flesh of the mighty, and drink the blood of the princes of the earth, of rams, of lambs, and of goats, of bulls, all of them fatted calves of Bashan. ¹⁹ And you shall eat fat until you are full, and drink blood until you are drunk, of my sacrifice which I have sacrificed for you. ²⁰ Thus you shall be filled at My table with horses and chariots, with mighty men, and with all men of war" ', says the Lord GOD. ²¹ And I will set My glory among the heathen, and all the heathen shall see My judgment that I have executed, and My hand that I have laid upon them. ²² So the house of Israel shall know that I am the LORD their God from that day and forward.

² I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for My people and for My heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and divided My land. ³ And they have cast lots for My people; and have given a boy for a harlot, and sold a girl for wine, that they might drink. ⁴ Yes, and what have you to do with Me, O Tyre, and Zidon, and all the borders of Palestine? Will you render Me a recompense? And if you recompense Me, swiftly and speedily I will return your recompense upon your own head; ⁵ because you have taken My silver and My gold, and have carried My goodly pleasant things into your temples: ⁶ You have also sold the children of Judah and the children of Jerusalem to the Grecians, that you might remove them far from their border. ⁷ Behold, I will raise them out of the place where you have sold them, and will return your recompense upon your own head: ⁸ And I will sell your sons and your daughters into the hand of the children of Judah, and they shall sell them to the Sabeans, to a people far off: For the LORD has spoken it. ⁹ Proclaim this among the Gentiles; "Prepare war", wake up the mighty men, let all the men of war draw near; let them come up:

⁶ "In that day", says the LORD, "I will assemble her that limps, and I will gather her that is driven out, and her that I have afflicted; ⁷ and I will make her that limped a remnant, and her that was cast far off a strong nation: And the LORD shall reign over them in Mount Zion from now on, even forever.

¹¹ There is one that comes out of you, that imagines evil against the LORD, a wicked counselor.a wicked counselor: In Hebrew, a counselor of Belial ¹² Thus says the LORD; "Though they be quiet, and likewise many, yet they shall be cut down, when he shall pass through. Though I have afflicted you, I will afflict you no more. ¹³ For now I will break his yoke from off you, and will burst your bonds apart." ¹⁴ And the LORD has given a commandment concerning you, that, "Your name will not be sown any more: I will cut off the graven image and the molten image out of the house of your gods: I will make your grave; for you are vile."

³ And in that day I will make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: All that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it. ⁴ In that day", says the LORD, "I will smite every horse with astonishment, and his rider with madness: And I will open My eyes upon the house of Judah, and will smite every horse of the people with blindness.

¹³ and make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed.

¹⁷ Then I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried out with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, "Come and gather yourselves together to the supper of the great God; ¹⁸ that you may eat the flesh of kings, the flesh of captains, the flesh of mighty men, the flesh of horses, and of those that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great." ¹⁹ And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against Him that sat on the horse, and against His army. ²⁰ And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that worked miracles before him, with which he deceived those that had received the mark of the beast, and those that worshiped his image. These two were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. ²¹ And the remnant were slain with the sword of Him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: And all the fowls were filled with their flesh.

⁹ And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed all around the camp of the saints, and the beloved city: And fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.

⁶ Let their way be dark and slippery: And let the angel of the LORD persecute them.

¹¹ And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set His hand again the second time to recover the remnant of His people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea. ¹² And He shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.

⁵ even to them I will give in My house and within my walls a place and a name better than of sons and of daughters: I will give them an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off.

⁸ The Lord GOD, who gathers the outcasts of Israel said, "Yet will I gather others to him, besides those who are gathered to him."

¹⁵ Whereas you have been forsaken and hated, so that no man went through you, I will make you an eternal excellency, a joy of many generations.

⁹ And their seed shall be known among the Gentiles, and their offspring among the people: All who see them shall acknowledge them, that they are the seed which the LORD has blessed."

¹² And they shall call them, The holy people, The redeemed of the LORD: And you shall be called, Sought out, A city not forsaken.

²² "For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before Me", said the LORD, "so shall your seed and your name remain.

¹⁴ And I will be found by you', says the LORD: 'and I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places where I have driven you', says the LORD; 'and I will bring you back again into the place from where I caused you to be carried away captive.' "

⁵³ When I shall bring their captivity again, the captivity of Sodom and her daughters, and the captivity of Samaria and her daughters, then I will bring back the captivity of your captives in the midst of them:

²⁵ Thus says the Lord GOD; "When I have gathered the house of Israel from the people among whom they are scattered, and shall be sanctified in them in the sight of the heathen, then they shall dwell in their land that I have given to My servant Jacob.

¹² Therefore prophesy and say to them, 'Thus says the Lord GOD; "Behold, O My people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel.

²¹ And say to them, 'Thus says the Lord GOD; "Behold, I will take the children of Israel from among the heathen, where they have gone, and will gather them on every side, and bring them into their own land:

²⁸ then they shall know that I am the LORD their God, which caused them to be led into captivity among the heathen: But I have gathered them to their own land, and have left none of them there any more.

¹ For, behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall bring again the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem,

¹⁴ And I will bring home again the captivity of My people of Israel, and they shall build the waste cities, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and drink its wine; they shall also make gardens, and eat the fruit of them.

¹⁹ Behold, at that time I will undo all those that afflict you: And I will save her that limps, and gather her that was driven out; and I will get them praise and fame in every land where they have been put to shame.

¹² "And all nations shall call you blessed: For you all shall be a delightsome land", says the LORD of hosts.
