Psalms 107:42

Proverbs 6:6-19

6 Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise: 7 Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler, 8 provides her meat in the summer, and gathers her food in the harvest. 9 How long will you sleep, O sluggard? When will you arise out of your sleep? 10 Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep: 11 So shall your poverty come as one that travels abroad, and your want as an armed man. 12 A naughty person, a wicked man, walks with a froward mouth. 13 He winks with his eyes, he speaks with his feet, he teaches with his fingers; 14 frowardness is in his heart, he devises mischief continually; he sows discord. 15 Therefore his calamity shall come suddenly; suddenly he shall be broken without remedy. 16 These six things the LORD hates: Yes, seven are an abomination to Him: 17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, 18 a heart that devises wicked imaginations, feet that are swift in running to mischief, 19 a false witness that speaks lies, and he that sows discord among brethren.

Proverbs 6:32

32 But whoever commits adultery with a woman lacks understanding: He that does it destroys his own soul.

Proverbs 10:13

13 In the lips of him that has understanding wisdom is found: But a rod is for the back of him that is void of understanding.

Proverbs 12:11

11 He that tills his land shall be satisfied with bread: But he that follows vain persons is void of understanding.

Ecclesiastes 4:1-8

1 So I returned, and considered all the oppressions that are done under the sun: And behold the tears of such as were oppressed, and they had no comforter; and on the side of their oppressors there was power; but they had no comforter. 2 Therefore I praised the dead which are already dead more than the living which are yet alive. 3 Yes, better than both is he, who has not yet existed, who has not seen the evil work that is done under the sun. 4 Again, I considered all travail, and every right work, that for this a man is envied by his neighbor. This also is vanity and vexation of spirit. 5 The fool folds his hands together, and eats his own flesh. 6 Better is a handful with quietness, than both hands full with travail and vexation of spirit. 7 Then I returned, and I saw vanity under the sun. 8 There is one alone, and there is not a second; yes, he has neither child nor brother: Yet there is no end of all his labor; neither is his eye satisfied with riches; neither has he said, "For whom do I labor, and bereave my soul of good?" This also is vanity, yes, it is a sore travail.

Ecclesiastes 7:15

15 I have seen all things in the days of my vanity: There is a just man that perishes in his righteousness, and there is a wicked man that prolongs his life in his wickedness.

Ecclesiastes 8:9-11

9 All this I have seen, and applied my heart to every work that is done under the sun: There is a time in which one man rules over another to his own hurt. 10 And so I saw the wicked buried, who had come and gone from the place of the holy, and they were forgotten in the city where they had so done: This also is vanity. 11 Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.
