⁹ He that has a bountiful eye shall be blessed; for he gives of his bread to the poor.

⁷ If there be among you a poor man of one of your brothers within any of your gates in your land which the LORD your God gives you, you shall not harden your heart, nor shut your hand from your poor brother: ⁸ But you shall open your hand wide to him, and shall surely lend him sufficient for his need, in that which he wants. ⁹ Beware that there be not a thought in your wicked heart, saying, "The seventh year, the year of release, is at hand; and your eye be evil against your poor brother, and you give him nothing; and he cry to the LORD against you, and it be sin to you. ¹⁰ You shall surely give him, and your heart shall not be grieved when you give to him: Because that for this thing the LORD your God shall bless you in all your works, and in all that you put your hand to. ¹¹ For the poor shall never cease out of the land: Therefore I command you, saying, "You shall open your hand wide to your brother, to your poor, and to your needy, in your land.

⁵⁶ The tender and delicate woman among you, which would not adventure to set the sole of her foot upon the ground for delicateness and tenderness, her eye shall be evil toward the husband of her bosom, and toward her son, and toward her daughter,

¹⁶ If I have withheld the poor from their desire, or have caused the eyes of the widow to fail; ¹⁷ or have eaten my morsel myself alone, and the fatherless has not eaten of it; ¹⁸ (For from my youth he was brought up with me, as with a father, and I have guided her from my mother's womb); ¹⁹ If I have seen any perish for want of clothing, or any poor without covering; ²⁰ if his loins have not blessed me, and if he were not warmed with the fleece of my sheep;

Blessed is he that considers the poor: The LORD will deliver him in time of trouble. ² The LORD will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: And You will not deliver him to the will of his enemies. ³ The LORD will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing: You will make all his bed in his sickness.

⁹ He has dispersed, he has given to the poor; his righteousness endures forever; his horn shall be exalted with honor.

²⁵ The soul that blesses shall be made fat: And he that waters shall also be watered himself.

¹⁷ He that has pity upon the poor lends to the LORD; and that which he has given He will repay him again.

¹³ Whoever stops his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry himself, but shall not be heard.

¹ Cast your bread upon the waters: For you shall find it after many days. ² Give a portion to seven, and also to eight; for you do not know what evil shall be on the earth.

⁸ But the liberal devises liberal things; and by liberal things he shall stand.

⁷ Is it not to deal your bread to the hungry, and that you bring the poor that are cast out to your house? When you see the naked, that you cover him; and that you do not hide yourself from your own flesh? ⁸ Then your light shall break forth like the morning, and your health shall spring forth speedily: And your righteousness shall go before you; the glory of the LORD shall be your rear-guard. ⁹ Then you shall call, and the LORD shall answer; you shall cry, and He shall say, 'Here I am.' If you take away the yoke from the midst of you, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity; ¹⁰ and if you draw out your soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then your light shall rise in obscurity, and your darkness be like the noon day: ¹¹ And the LORD shall guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in drought, and make your bones fat: And you shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not. ¹² And those who shall be of you shall build the old waste places: You shall raise up the foundations of many generations; and you shall be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.

¹⁵ Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with my own? Is your eye evil because I am good?'

³⁴ Then the King shall say to those on His right hand, 'Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: ³⁵ For I was hungry, and you gave Me food: I was thirsty, and you gave Me drink: I was a stranger, and you took Me in: ³⁶ Naked, and you clothed Me: I was sick, and you visited Me: I was in prison, and you came to Me.' ³⁷ Then the righteous shall answer Him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You? Or thirsty, and gave You a drink?' ³⁸ When did we see You a stranger, and take You in? Or naked, and clothe You? ³⁹ Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and came to You?' ⁴⁰ And the King shall answer and say to them, 'Truly I say to you, Inasmuch as you have done it to one of the least of these My brethren, you have done it to Me.'

²² thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:

³⁵ But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward shall be great, and you shall be the children of the Highest: For He is kind to the unthankful and to the evil. ³⁶ Therefore be merciful, as your Father also is merciful. ³⁷ Judge not, and you shall not be judged: Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned: Forgive, and you shall be forgiven: ³⁸ Give, and it shall be given to you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that you estimate with, it shall be measured to you again."

¹³ But when you make a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind:

³⁵ I have shown you all things, how by so laboring you ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how He said, 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.' "

¹ Moreover, brethren, we make known to you the grace of God bestowed upon the churches of Macedonia; ² how that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded to the riches of their liberality.

⁶ But this I say, he which sows sparingly shall also reap sparingly; and he which sows bountifully shall also reap bountifully. ⁷ Let every man give according to as he purposes in his heart; not grudgingly, nor of necessity: For God loves a cheerful giver. ⁸ And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work: ⁹ (As it is written, "He has dispersed abroad; he has given to the poor: His righteousness remains forever." ¹⁰ Now He that ministers seed to the sower also ministers bread for your food, and multiplies your seed sown, and increases the fruits of your righteousness); ¹¹ being enriched in everything to all bountifulness, which causes thanksgiving to God through us.

¹⁸ that they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate; ¹⁹ laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.

¹⁰ For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labor of love, which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

¹⁶ But do not forget to do good and to communicate: For with such sacrifices God is well pleased.

⁹ Use hospitality one to another without grudging.
