¹⁴ The mouth of strange women is a deep pit: He that is abhorred of the LORD shall fall in it.

¹⁹ And when the LORD saw it, he abhorred them, because of the provoking of his sons, and of his daughters.

²⁰ And she said, "The Philistines are upon you, Samson." And he awoke out of his sleep, and said, "I will go out as at other times before, and shake myself." And he did not know that the LORD had departed from him. ²¹ But the Philistines took him, and put out his eyes, and brought him down to Gaza, and bound him with fetters of brass; and he did grind in the prison house.

²⁶ Did not Solomon king of Israel sin by these things? Yet among many nations was there no king like him, who was beloved of his God, and God made him king over all Israel: Nevertheless even him did outlandish women cause to sin.

¹² So I gave them up to their own hearts' lust: And they walked in their own counsels.

¹⁶ To deliver you from the strange woman, even from the stranger which flatters with her words; ¹⁷ that forsakes the guide of her youth, and forgets the covenant of her God. ¹⁸ For her house inclines to death, and her paths to the dead. ¹⁹ None that go to her return again, neither do they take hold of the paths of life.

³ For the lips of a strange woman drop as a honeycomb, and her mouth is smoother than oil: ⁴ But her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a two-edged sword. ⁵ Her feet go down to death; her steps take hold on hell. ⁶ Lest you should ponder the path of life, her ways are moveable, that you cannot know them. ⁷ Hear me now therefore, O you children, and do not depart from the words of my mouth. ⁸ Remove your way far from her, and do not come near the door of her house: ⁹ Lest you give your honor to others, and your years to the cruel: ¹⁰ Lest strangers be filled with your wealth; and your labors be in the house of a stranger; ¹¹ and at the end you mourn, when your flesh and your body are consumed, ¹² and say, "How I hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof; ¹³ and have not obeyed the voice of my teachers, nor inclined my ear to those that instructed me! ¹⁴ I was almost surrounded by evil in the midst of the congregation and assembly." ¹⁵ Drink waters out of your own cistern, and running waters out of your own well. ¹⁶ Let your fountains be dispersed abroad, and rivers of waters in the streets. ¹⁷ Let them be only your own, and not strangers' with you. ¹⁸ Let your fountain be blessed: And rejoice with the wife of your youth. ¹⁹ Let her be as the loving hind and pleasant gazelle; let her breasts satisfy you at all times; and be ravished always with her love. ²⁰ And why will you, my son, be ravished with a strange woman, and embrace the bosom of a stranger? ²¹ For the ways of man are before the eyes of the LORD, and He ponders all his goings. ²² His own iniquities shall take the wicked himself, and he shall be held with the cords of his sins. ²³ He shall die without instruction; and in the greatness of his folly he shall go astray.

²⁴ To keep you from the evil woman, from the flattery of the tongue of a strange woman. ²⁵ Do not lust after her beauty in your heart; neither let her take you with her eyelids. ²⁶ For by means of a whorish woman a man is brought to a piece of bread: And the adulteress will hunt for the precious life. ²⁷ Can a man take fire in his bosom, and his clothes not be burned? ²⁸ Can one go upon hot coals, and his feet not be burned? ²⁹ So he is that goes in to his neighbor's wife; whoever touches her shall not be innocent.

⁵ That they may keep you from the strange woman, from the stranger which flatters with her words. ⁶ For at the window of my house I looked through my casement, ⁷ and beheld among the simple ones, I discerned among the youths, a young man void of understanding, ⁸ passing through the street near her corner; and he went the way to her house, ⁹ in the twilight, in the evening, in the black and dark night: ¹⁰ And behold, there met him a woman with the attire of a harlot, and subtle of heart. ¹¹ (She is loud and stubborn; her feet do not abide in her house: ¹² Now she is outside, now in the streets, and lies in wait at every corner). ¹³ So she caught him, and kissed him, and with an impudent face said to him, ¹⁴ I have peace offerings with me; this day I have paid my vows. ¹⁵ Therefore I came forth to meet you, diligently to seek your face, and I have found you. ¹⁶ I have decked my bed with coverings of tapestry, with carved works, with fine linen of Egypt. ¹⁷ I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon. ¹⁸ Come, let us take our fill of love until the morning: Let us solace ourselves with loves. ¹⁹ For the goodman is not at home, he has gone on a long journey: ²⁰ He has taken a bag of money with him, and will come home on the day appointed. ²¹ With her very pleasing speech she caused him to yield, with the flattering of her lips she forced him. ²² He immediately goes after her, as an ox goes to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks; ²³ till a dart strike through his liver; as a bird hastens to the snare, and does not know that it is for his life. ²⁴ Therefore hearken to me now, O you children, and attend to the words of my mouth. ²⁵ Do not let your heart decline to her ways, do not go astray in her paths. ²⁶ For she has cast down many wounded: Yes, many strong men have been slain by her. ²⁷ Her house is the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death.

²⁷ For a whore is a deep ditch; and a strange woman is a narrow pit.

²⁶ And I find more bitter than death the woman, whose heart is snares and nets, and her hands as fetters: Whoever pleases God shall escape from her; but the sinner shall be taken by her.
