³ And Balaam said to Balak, "Stand by your burnt offering, and I will go: Peradventure the LORD will come to meet me: And whatever he shows me I will tell you. And he went to a high place.

²⁰ And Noah built an altar to the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.

² And He said, "Take now your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and get yourselves into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell you of."

³¹ Then the LORD opened the eyes of Balaam, and he saw the angel of the LORD standing in the way, and his sword drawn in his hand: And he bowed down his head, and fell flat on his face. ³² And the angel of the LORD said to him, "Why have you smitten your donkey these three times? Behold, I went out to withstand you, because your way is perverse before me: ³³ And the donkey saw me, and turned from me these three times: Unless she had turned from me, surely now also I had slain you, and saved her alive. ³⁴ And Balaam said to the angel of the LORD, I have sinned; for I did not know that you stood in the walkway against me: Now therefore, if it displease you, I will get me back again. ³⁵ And the angel of the LORD said to Balaam, "Go with the men: But only the word that I shall speak to you, that you shall speak. So Balaam went with the princes of Balak.

¹⁵ And he said to Balak, "Stand here by your burnt offering, while I meet the LORD yonder.

¹ And when Balaam saw that it pleased the LORD to bless Israel, he went not, as at other times, to seek for enchantments, but he set his face toward the wilderness.
