¹³ And Balak said to him, "Come, I implore you, with me to another place, from where you may see them: You shall see but the utmost part of them, and shall not see them all: And curse me them from there.

⁴¹ And it came to pass on the next day, that Balak took Balaam, and brought him up into the high places of Baal, that there he might see the utmost part of the people.

⁹ Then Balak the son of Zippor, king of Moab, arose and warred against Israel, and sent and called Balaam the son of Beor to curse you:

²³ And the servants of the king of Syria said to him, "Their gods are gods of the hills; therefore they were stronger than we; but let us fight against them in the plain, and surely we shall be stronger than they.

²⁸ And there came a man of God, and spoke to the king of Israel, and said, "Thus says the LORD, Because the Syrians have said, "The LORD is God of the hills, but he is not God of the valleys, therefore will I deliver all this great multitude into your hand, and you shall know that I am the LORD.

¹⁷ As he loved cursing, so let it come to him: As he delighted not in blessing, so let it be far from him.

⁵ O My people, remember now what Balak king of Moab consulted, and what Balaam the son of Beor answered him from Shittim to Gilgal; that all of you may know the righteousness of the LORD."

⁹ With it we bless God, even the Father; and with it we curse men, who are made in the similitude of God. ¹⁰ Out of the same mouth proceeds blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so.
