⁷ Then they brought the colt to Jesus, and cast their garments on him; and He sat upon him.

¹³ Then they hurried, and took every man his garment, and put it under him on the top of the stairs, and blew with trumpets, saying, "Jehu is king.

⁹ Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: Behold, your King comes to you: He is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon a donkey, and upon a colt, the foal of a donkey.

⁴ All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, ⁵ "Tell the daughter of Zion, 'Behold, your King comes to you, meek, and sitting upon a donkey, and a colt the foal of a donkey.' "

⁷ and brought the donkey, and the colt, put their clothes on them, and they set Him upon them. ⁸ And a very large multitude spread their clothes on the road; others cut down branches from the trees, and strew them on the road.

¹² On the next day many people who had come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, ¹³ took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet Him, and cried out, "Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that comes in the name of the LORD." ¹⁴ And Jesus, when He had found a young donkey, sat on it; as it is written, ¹⁵ "Fear not, daughter of Zion: Behold, your King comes, sitting on a donkey's colt." ¹⁶ His disciples did not understand these things at first: But when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things were written about Him, and that they had done these things to Him.
