¹ Then Job answered and said, ² even today is my complaint bitter: My stroke is heavier than my groaning. ³ Oh that I knew where I might find him! That I might come even to his seat! ⁴ I would order my cause before him, and fill my mouth with arguments. ⁵ I would know the words which he would answer me, and understand what he would say to me. ⁶ Will he plead against me with his great power? No; but he would put strength in me. ⁷ There the righteous might dispute with him; so should I be delivered forever from my judge. ⁸ Behold, I go forward, but he is not there; and backward, but I cannot perceive him: ⁹ On the left hand side, where he does work, but I cannot behold him: He hides himself on the right hand side, that I cannot see him: ¹⁰ But he knows the way that I take: When he has tried me, I shall come forth as gold. ¹¹ My foot has held his steps, his way have I kept, and not declined. ¹² Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food. ¹³ But he is in one mind, and who can turn him? And what his soul desires, even that he does. ¹⁴ For he performs the thing that is appointed for me: And many such things are with him. ¹⁵ Therefore am I troubled at his presence: When I consider, I am afraid of him. ¹⁶ For God makes my heart soft, and the Almighty troubles me: ¹⁷ Because I was not cut off before the darkness, neither has he covered the darkness from my face.

² oh that my grief were thoroughly weighed, and my calamity laid in the balances together! ³ For now it would be heavier than the sand of the sea: Therefore my words are swallowed up.

¹¹ Therefore I will not refrain my mouth; I will speak in the anguish of my spirit; I will complain in the bitterness of my soul.

¹ My soul is weary of my life; I will leave my complaint on myself; I will speak in the bitterness of my soul.

⁶ and that he would show you the secrets of wisdom, that they are double to that which is! Know therefore that God exacts of you less than your iniquity deserves.

⁴ For day and night your hand was heavy upon me: My moisture is turned into the drought of summer. Selah.

² In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord: My sore ran in the night, and did not cease: My soul refused to be comforted. ³ I remembered God, and was troubled: I complained, and my spirit was overwhelmed. Selah. ⁴ You hold my eyes waking: I am so troubled that I cannot speak. ⁵ I have considered the days of old, the years of ancient times. ⁶ I call to remembrance my song in the night: I commune with my own heart: And my spirit made diligent search. ⁷ Will the Lord cast off forever? And will He be favorable no more? ⁸ Is His mercy wholly gone forever? Does His promise fail forevermore? ⁹ Has God forgotten to be gracious? Has He shut up His tender mercies in anger? Selah.

¹⁹ Remembering my affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the gall. ²⁰ My soul still has them in remembrance, and is humbled within me.

³ Surely I would speak to the Almighty, and I desire to reason with God.

²¹ O that one might plead for a man with God, as a man pleads for his neighbor!

³⁵ Oh that one would hear me! Behold, my desire is, that the Almighty would answer me, and that my adversary had written a book. ³⁶ Surely I would take it on my shoulder, and bind it as a crown to me. ³⁷ I would declare to him the number of my steps; as a prince would I go near to him.

¹ Moreover the LORD answered Job, and said, ² shall he that contends with the Almighty instruct him? He that reproves God, let him answer it. ³ Then Job answered the LORD, and said, ⁴ behold, I am vile; what shall I answer you? I will lay my hand upon my mouth. ⁵ Once have I spoken; but I will not answer: Yes, twice; but I will proceed no further.

⁸ Yes, in the way of Your judgments, O LORD, we have waited for You; the desire of our soul is to Your name, and to the remembrance of You.

⁶ All of you seek the LORD while He may be found, call on Him while He is near: ⁷ Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: And let him return to the LORD, and He will have mercy on him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.

⁷ O LORD, though our iniquities testify against us, do it for Your name's sake: For our backslidings are many; we have sinned against You.

¹⁹ Know that God was in Christ, reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them; and has committed to us the word of reconciliation. ²⁰ Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God implored you through us: We make request of you on Christ's behalf, be reconciled to God.

⁶ Therefore seeing it remains that some must enter in, and those to whom it was first preached did not enter in because of unbelief:

²⁵ Far be it from You to do hurt in this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked: And that the righteous should be as the wicked, far be it from You: Shall the Judge of all the earth not do right?" ²⁶ And the LORD said, "If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare all the place for their sakes." ²⁷ And Abraham answered and said, "Behold now, I have taken upon myself to speak to the LORD, who am but dust and ashes: ²⁸ Peradventure there shall lack five of the fifty righteous: Will You destroy all the city for lack of five?" And He said, "If I find there forty-five, I will not destroy it." ²⁹ And he spoke to Him yet again, and said, "Peradventure there shall be forty found there." And He said, "I will not do it for forty's sake." ³⁰ And he said to Him, "Oh let not the LORD be angry, and I will speak: Peradventure there shall be thirty found there." And He said, "I will not do it, if I find thirty there." ³¹ And he said, "Behold now, I have taken upon myself to speak to the LORD: Peradventure twenty shall be found there." And He said, "I will not destroy it for twenty's sake." ³² And he said, "Oh let not the LORD be angry, and I will yet speak but this once: Peradventure ten shall be found there." And He said, "I will not destroy it for ten's sake."

¹² And You said, 'I will surely do you good, and make your seed as the sand of the sea, which cannot be numbered for multitude.' "

¹² Why should the Egyptians speak, and say, 'For mischief He brought them out, to slay them in the mountains, and to consume them from the face of the earth'? Turn from Your fierce wrath, and repent of this evil against Your people. ¹³ Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, Your servants, to whom You swore by Your own self, and said to them, 'I will multiply your seed as the stars of heaven, and I will give all this land that I have spoken of to your seed, and they shall inherit it forever.' "

¹³ And Moses said to the LORD, Then the Egyptians shall hear it, (for you brought up this people in your might from among them); ¹⁴ And they will tell it to the inhabitants of this land: For they have heard that you LORD are among this people, that you LORD are seen face to face, and that your cloud stands over them, and that you go before them, by day time in a pillar of a cloud, and in a pillar of fire by night. ¹⁵ Now if you shall kill all this people as one man, then the nations which have heard the fame of you will speak, saying, ¹⁶ because the LORD was not able to bring this people into the land which he swore to them, therefore he has slain them in the wilderness. ¹⁷ And now, I beseech you, let the power of my LORD be great, according to as you have spoken, saying, ¹⁸ the LORD is long-suffering, and of great mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression, and by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generation. ¹⁹ Pardon, I beseech you, the iniquity of this people according to the greatness of your mercy, and as you have forgiven this people, from Egypt even until now.

⁸ O LORD, what shall I say, "when Israel turns their backs before their enemies! ⁹ For the Canaanites and all the inhabitants of the land shall hear of it, and shall environ us round, and cut off our name from the earth: And what will you do to your great name?

¹⁸ Behold now, I have ordered my cause; I know that I shall be justified.

¹⁹ Teach us what we shall say to him; for we cannot order our speech by reason of darkness.

¹¹ For Your name's sake, O LORD, pardon my iniquity; for it is great.

¹ Judge me, O God, and plead my cause against an ungodly nation: O deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man.

²⁶ Put Me in remembrance: Let us plead together: Declare yourself, that you may be justified.

¹⁸ O my God, incline Your ear, and hear; open Your eyes, and behold our desolations, and the city which is called by Your name: For we do not present our supplications before You on account of our righteousnesses, but because of Your great mercies. ¹⁹ O Lord, hear; O Lord, forgive; O Lord, hearken and do; Defer not, for Your own sake, O my God: For Your city and Your people are called by Your name."

² I will say to God, Do not condemn me; show me why you contend with me.

²² Then call you, and I will answer: Or let me speak, and answer you me. ²³ How many are my iniquities and sins? Make me to know my transgression and my sin.

² I know that you can do every thing, and that no thought can be withheld from you. ³ Who is he that hides counsel without knowledge? Therefore have I uttered that I understood not; things too wonderful for me, which I knew not. ⁴ Hear, I beseech you, and I will speak: I will demand of you, and declare you to me. ⁵ I have heard of you by the hearing of the ear: But now my eye sees you. ⁶ For which reason I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes.

³ But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged by you, or by a man's judgment: Nevertheless I do not judge my own self. ⁴ For I know nothing by myself; yet I am not justified by this: But He that judges me is the Lord.

⁴ He is wise in heart, and mighty in strength: Who has hardened himself against him, and has prospered?

¹⁹ If I speak of strength, see, he is strong: And if of judgment, who shall set me a time to plead?

³³ Neither is there any judge between us, that might lay his hand upon us both. ³⁴ Let him take his rod away from me, and let not his fear terrify me:

²¹ Withdraw your hand far from me: And let not your dread make me afraid.

³ In the day when I cried You answered me, and strengthened me with strength in my soul.

⁴ Fury is not in Me: Who would set the briers and thorns against Me in battle? I would go through them, I would burn them together.

⁸ In measure, when Israel shoots forth, You will debate with it: He maintains His rough wind in the day of the east wind.

³³ As I live", said the Lord GOD, "surely with a mighty hand, and with an outstretched arm, and with fury poured out, I will rule over you:

³⁵ And I will bring you into the wilderness of the people, and there I will plead with you face to face.

⁹ And He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you: For My strength is made perfect in weakness." Therefore, I will most gladly rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. ¹⁰ Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: For when I am weak, then I am strong.

¹⁵ Whom, though I were righteous, yet would I not answer, but I would make supplication to my judge.

¹⁸ "Come now, and let us reason together", said the LORD: "though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

⁵ Will he reserve his anger forever? Will he keep it to the end? Behold, you have spoken and done evil things as you could."

¹ Righteous are You, O LORD, when I plead with You: Yet let me talk with You about your judgments: Why does the way of the wicked prosper? Why are they all happy who deal very treacherously?

¹⁹ Now we know that whatever things the law says, it says to those who are under the law: That every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. ²⁰ Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh shall be justified in His sight: For by the law is the knowledge of sin. ²¹ But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the Law and the prophets; ²² even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ to all and upon all those who believe: For there is no difference:

¹ There is therefore now no condemnation to those which are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

³³ Who shall blame God's elect? It is God that justifies. ³⁴ Who is he that condemns? It is Christ that died, now rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.

¹¹ See, he goes by me, and I see him not: He passes on also, but I perceive him not.

¹⁴ Although you say you shall not see him, yet judgment is before him; therefore trust you in him.

¹ Why do You stand afar off, O LORD? Why do You hide Yourself in times of trouble?

¹ How long will You forget me, O LORD? Forever? How long will You hide Your face from me? ² How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart daily? How long shall my enemy be exalted over me? ³ Consider and hear me, O LORD my God: Lighten my eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death;

¹⁵ Truly you are a God who hides Yourself, O God of Israel, the Savior.

¹⁶ who only has immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach; whom no man has seen, nor can see: To whom be honor and power everlasting. Amen.

⁴⁶ How long, LORD? Will You hide Yourself forever? Shall Your wrath burn like fire?

¹⁷ And I will wait upon the LORD, who hides His face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for Him.

¹⁹ For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which He has spoken of him."

² And you shall remember all the way which the LORD your God led you these forty years in the wilderness, to humble you, and to prove you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep his commandments, or no.

³ I beseech you, O LORD, remember now how I have walked before you in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in your sight. And Hezekiah wept sore.

¹¹ But put forth your hand now, and touch all that he has, and he will curse you to your face. ¹² And the LORD said to Satan, "Behold, all that he has is in your power; only on himself put not forth your hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD.

⁵ But put forth your hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse you to your face. ⁶ And the LORD said to Satan, "Behold, he is in your hand; but save his life.

⁵ I have heard of you by the hearing of the ear: But now my eye sees you. ⁶ For which reason I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes. ⁷ And it was so, that after the LORD had spoken these words to Job, the LORD said to Eliphaz the Temanite, My wrath is kindled against you, and against your two friends: For you have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job has. ⁸ Therefore take to you now seven bulls and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and my servant Job shall pray for you: For him will I accept: Lest I deal with you after your folly, in that you have not spoken of me the thing which is right, like my servant Job.

⁶ For the LORD knows the way of the righteous: But the way of the ungodly shall perish.

³ You have proved my heart; You have visited me in the night; You have examined me, and shall find nothing; I have purposed that my mouth shall not transgress.

¹⁰ For You, O God, have proved us: You have tried us, as silver is tried.

¹ To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. O LORD, You have searched me, and known me. ² You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thoughts afar off. ³ You compass my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways,

³ The refining pot is for silver, and the furnace for gold: But the LORD proves the hearts through testing.

⁹ And I will bring the one-third through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will prove them through testing as gold is proved: They shall call on My name, and I will hear them: I will say, 'It is My people': And they shall say, 'The LORD is my God.' "

² "But who may abide the day of His coming? And who shall stand when He appears? For He is like a refiner's fire, and like fullers' soap: ³ And He shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: And He shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer to the LORD an offering in righteousness.

¹⁷ He said to him the third time, "Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?" Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, "Do you love Me?" And he said to Him, "Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You." Jesus said to him, "Feed My sheep.

¹⁹ Nevertheless the foundation of God stands sure, having this seal: "The Lord knows those that are His." And, "Let everyone that names the name of Christ depart from iniquity."

¹⁷ By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: And he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son,

² My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into diverse temptations; ³ knowing this, that the trying of your faith works patience. ⁴ But let patience have her perfect work, that you may be perfect and whole, lacking nothing.

¹² Blessed is the man that endures temptation: For when he is approved, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.

⁷ That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perishes, though it be tried with fire, might be found to praise and honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

² And now, behold, the king walks before you: And I am old and gray headed; and behold, my sons are with you: And I have walked before you from my childhood to this day. ³ Behold, here I am: Witness against me before the LORD, and before his anointed: Whose ox have I taken? Or whose donkey have I taken? Or whom have I defrauded? Whom have I oppressed? Or from whose hand have I received any bribe to blind my eyes with it? And I will restore it to you. ⁴ And they said, "You have not defrauded us, nor oppressed us, neither have you taken anything owed from any man's hand." ⁵ And he said to them, "The LORD is witness against you, and His anointed is witness this day, that you have not found anything in my hand." And they answered, "He is witness."

⁹ The righteous also shall hold on his way, and he that has clean hands shall be stronger and stronger.

⁵ Support my goings forth in Your paths, that my footsteps do not slip.

²⁰ The LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands He has recompensed me. ²¹ For I have kept the ways of the LORD, and have not wickedly departed from my God. ²² For all His judgments were before me, and I did not put away His statutes from me. ²³ I also was upright before Him, and I kept myself from my iniquity. ²⁴ Therefore the LORD has recompensed me according to my righteousness, according to the cleanness of my hands in His eyesight.

³ The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit: He has forsaken to be wise, and to do good.

¹⁸ Our heart is not turned back, neither have our steps declined from Your way;

⁵ As for such as turn aside to their crooked ways, the LORD shall lead them away with the workers of iniquity: But peace shall be upon Israel.

⁶ and those that are turned back from the LORD; and those that have not sought the LORD, nor inquired for Him."

¹³ Those upon the rock are they which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, who for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away. ¹⁴ And that which fell among thorns are they which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection. ¹⁵ But that on the good ground are those, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.

¹⁸ And when they had come to him, he said to them, "You know, from the first day that I came into Asia, in what manner I have been with you throughout all seasons, ¹⁹ serving the Lord with all humility of mind, with many tears, and temptations, which befell me through the lying in wait of the Jews:

³³ I have coveted no one's silver, or gold, or apparel. ³⁴ Yes, you yourselves know that these hands have served for my necessities, and for those that were with me.

⁷ To those who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, eternal life:

¹² For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world, and more abundantly toward you.

¹⁰ You are witnesses, and God also, how holily and justly and unblameably we ourselves behaved among you who believe:

²⁰ For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them, and overcome, the latter end is worse for them than the beginning. ²¹ For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than after having known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them. ²² But it has happened to them according to the true proverb, "The dog returned to his own vomit again"; and, "the hog that was washed to her wallowing in the mire."

¹⁰ Then should I yet have comfort; yes, I would harden myself in sorrow: Let him not spare; for I have not concealed the words of the Holy One.

²² Receive, I implore you, the law from his mouth, and lay up his words in your heart.

⁹ The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever: The judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether. ¹⁰ More to be desired are they than gold, yes, than much fine gold: Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.

¹¹ I have hid Your word in my heart, that I might not sin against You.

¹⁰³ How sweet are Your words to my taste! Yes, sweeter than honey to my mouth!

¹²⁷ Therefore I love Your commandments above gold; yes, above fine gold.

¹⁶ Your words were found, and I ate them; and Your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart: For I am called by Your name, O LORD God of hosts.

⁴² And the Lord said, "Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of food in due season?

⁴⁶ the lord of that servant shall come on a day when he is not looking for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in two, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.

³² But He said to them, "I have food to eat that you do not know of."

³⁴ Jesus said to them, "My food is to do the will of Him that sent Me, and to finish His work.

⁶⁶ From that time many of His disciples went back, and no longer walked with Him. ⁶⁷ Then Jesus said to the twelve, "Will you also go away?" ⁶⁸ Then Simon Peter answered Him, "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. ⁶⁹ And we believe and are sure that You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."

³¹ Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed on Him, "If you continue in My word, then you are My disciples indeed;

²² confirming the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.

³⁸ Now the just shall live by faith: But if any man draws back, My soul shall have no pleasure in him." ³⁹ But we are not of those who draw back to perdition; but of those that believe to the saving of the soul.

² as newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that you may grow thereby:

¹⁹ They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: But they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.

¹⁹ God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: Has he said, "and shall he not do it? Or has he spoken, and shall he not make it good? ²⁰ Behold, I have received commandment to bless: And he has blessed; and I cannot reverse it.

¹² Behold, he takes away, who can hinder him? Who will say to him, What do you? ¹³ If God will not withdraw his anger, the proud helpers do stoop under him.

¹⁰ If he cut off, and shut up, or gather together, then who can hinder him?

¹⁴ Behold, he breaks down, and it cannot be built again: He shuts up a man, and there can be no opening.

²⁹ When he gives quietness, who then can make trouble? And when he hides his face, who then can behold him? Whether it be done against a nation, or against a man only:

³ But our God is in the heavens: He has done whatever He has pleased.

⁶ Whatever the LORD pleased, that He did in heaven, and in earth, in the seas, and all deep places.

²¹ There are many devices in a man's heart; nevertheless the counsel of the LORD, that shall stand.

¹⁵ That which is crooked cannot be made straight: And that which has defects cannot be numbered.

¹⁴ I know that, whatever God does, it shall be forever: Nothing can be added to it, nor anything taken from it: And God does it, that men should fear before him.

²⁴ The LORD of hosts has sworn, saying, "Surely as I have thought, so shall it come to pass; and as I have purposed, so shall it stand: ²⁵ That I will break the Assyrian in my land, and tread him under foot on my mountains: Then his yoke shall depart from off them, and his burden depart from off their shoulders. ²⁶ This is the purpose that is purposed on the whole earth: And this is the hand that is outstretched on all the nations. ²⁷ For the LORD of hosts has purposed, and who shall cancel it? And his hand is outstretched, and who shall turn it back?

¹⁰ declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, 'My counsel shall stand, and I will do all My pleasure':

³⁵ And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: And He does according to His will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: And none can stay His hand, or say to Him, "What are You doing?"

¹⁹ Then you will say to me, "Why does He still find fault? For who has resisted His will?"

⁹ having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He has purposed in Himself: ¹⁰ That in the dispensation of the fullness of times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in Him: ¹¹ In Whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things after the counsel of His own will:

¹⁷ Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, nor shadow of turning.

³ So am I made to possess months of vanity, and wearisome nights are appointed to me.

¹⁹ Your way is in the sea, and Your path in the great waters, and Your footsteps are not known.

² Clouds and darkness are all around Him: Righteousness and judgment are the habitation of His throne.

²⁷ Why do you say, "O Jacob, and speak, O Israel, "My way is hid from the LORD, and my judgment is passed over by my God?" ²⁸ Have you not known? Have you not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, does not faint, nor is weary? There is no searching of His understanding.

⁹ The LORD's voice cries to the city, and the man of wisdom shall see Your name: "Hear the rod all you, and Who has appointed it.

³³ O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments, and His ways past finding out!

³ That no man should be moved by these afflictions: For you yourselves know that we are appointed to this.

⁹ For God has not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,

⁸ and "A stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense", even to those which stumble at the word, being disobedient: For that also they were appointed.

¹⁵ If I be wicked, woe to me; and if I be righteous, yet I will not lift up my head. I am full of confusion; therefore see you my affliction;

³ Oh that I knew where I might find him! That I might come even to his seat!

²³ For destruction from God was a terror to me, and by reason of his highness I could not endure.

³ I remembered God, and was troubled: I complained, and my spirit was overwhelmed. Selah.

¹²⁰ My flesh trembles for fear of You; and I am afraid of Your judgments.

¹⁶ When I heard, my belly trembled; my lips quivered at the voice: Rottenness entered into my bones, and I trembled in myself, that I might rest in the day of trouble: When he comes up to the people, he will invade them with his troops.

¹⁶ For I will not contend forever, neither will I always be wroth: For the spirit would fail before Me, and the souls which I have made.

⁴⁶ And lest your heart faint, and you fear for the rumor that shall be heard in the land; a rumor shall both come one year, and after that in another year shall come a rumor, and violence in the land, ruler against ruler.

¹⁵ alas for the day! For the day of the LORD is at hand, and as a destruction from the Almighty it shall come.

²⁰ "Behold therefore, I will gather you to your fathers, and you shall be gathered into your grave in peace; and your eyes shall not see all the evil which I will bring upon this place." ' " And they brought the king word again.

⁹ Even that it would please God to destroy me; that he would let loose his hand, and cut me off!

²² He believes not that he shall return out of darkness, and he is waited for of the sword.

⁶ The light shall be dark in his tabernacle, and his candle shall be put out with him.

¹⁸ He shall be driven from light into darkness, and chased out of the world.

⁸ He has fenced up my way that I cannot pass, and he has set darkness in my paths.

¹¹ or darkness, that you cannot see; and abundance of waters cover you.

¹ The righteous perishes, and no man takes it to heart: And merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come.
