¹⁶ You shall fan them, and the wind shall carry them away, and the whirlwind shall scatter them: And you shall rejoice in the LORD, and shall glory in the Holy One of Israel. ¹⁷ When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue fails for thirst, I the LORD will hear them, I the God of Israel will not forsake them. ¹⁸ I will open rivers in high places, and fountains in the middle of the valleys: I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water.

¹⁵ For thus says the high and lofty One who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also who is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.

¹ The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD has anointed me to preach good tidings to the meek; He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound;

¹⁰ I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.

² For all those things My hand has made, and all those things have been in existence", said the LORD: "but to this man I will look, even to him who is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembles at My word.

¹⁸ Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation.

³ Seek the LORD, all you meek of the earth, which have worked His judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness: It may be you all shall be hid in the day of the LORD's anger.

¹² I will also leave an afflicted and poor people in the midst of you, and they shall trust in the name of the LORD. ¹³ The remnant of Israel shall not do iniquity, nor speak lies; neither shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth: For they shall feed and lie down, and no one shall make them afraid. ¹⁴ Sing, O daughter of Zion; shout, O Israel; be glad and rejoice with all the heart, O daughter of Jerusalem. ¹⁵ The LORD has taken away your judgments, He has cast out your enemy: The King of Israel, even the LORD, is in the midst of you: You shall not see evil any more. ¹⁶ In that day it shall be said to Jerusalem, "Fear not": And to Zion, "Let not your hands be slack. ¹⁷ The LORD your God is mighty in the midst of you; He will save, He will rejoice over you with joy; He will rest in His love, He will joy over you with singing." ¹⁸ "I will gather those that are sorrowful on account of the solemn assembly, who are among you, to whom the reproach of it was a burden.

³ "Blessed are the poor in spirit: For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

⁵ Blessed are the meek: For they shall inherit the earth.

⁵ The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.

²⁹ Take My yoke upon you, and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: And you shall find rest for your souls.

²⁶ For you see your calling, brethren, how not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: ²⁷ But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God has chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; ²⁸ and base things of the world, and things which are despised, God has chosen, yes, and things which are not, to bring to nothing things that are: ²⁹ That no flesh should glory in His presence.

²² But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, ²³ meekness, temperance: Against such there is no law.

² with all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love;

¹ Therefore if there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any inward affection and mercies, ² fulfill my joy by being likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. ³ Let nothing be done through strife or vain-glory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than themselves.

¹ Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. To write even the same things to you is not grievous to me, but for you it is safe. ² Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the cutting off. ³ For we are the circumcision, who worship God in the Spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.

⁴ Rejoice in the Lord always: And again I say, Rejoice.

⁹ Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted:

²¹ Therefore lay aside all filthiness and superabundance of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.

⁵ Hearken, my beloved brethren, has not God chosen the poor of this world to be rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which He has promised to those that love Him?

¹³ Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? Let him show out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom. ¹⁴ But if you have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, do not boast, and do not lie against the truth. ¹⁵ This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish. ¹⁶ For where envying and strife are, there is confusion and every evil work. ¹⁷ But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. ¹⁸ And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those that make peace.

¹ Therefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speaking, ² as newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that you may grow thereby: ³ If as should be you have tasted that the Lord is gracious.
