³ And the LORD said, "As like my servant Isaiah has walked naked and barefoot for three years as a sign and wonder on Egypt and on Ethiopia;

³⁴ After the number of the days in which you searched the land, even forty days, each day for a year, shall you bear your iniquities, even forty years, and you shall know my breach of promise.

¹⁸ Behold, I and the children whom the LORD has given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the LORD of hosts, who dwells in Mount Zion.

¹ Woe to the land shadowing with wings, which is beyond the rivers of Ethiopia: ² That sends ambassadors by the sea, even in vessels of bulrushes on the waters, saying, "Go, you swift messengers, to a nation scattered and peeled, to a people terrible from their beginning until now; a nation meted out and trodden down, whose land the rivers have spoiled!" ³ All you inhabitants of the world, and dwellers on the earth, you shall see, when he lifts up an ensign upon the mountains; and when he blows a trumpet, you shall hear. ⁴ For so the LORD said to me, "I will take My rest, and I will consider in My dwelling place like a clear heat upon herbs, and like a cloud of dew in the heat of harvest." ⁵ For before the harvest, when the bud is perfect, and the sour grape is ripening in the flower, he shall cut off both the sprigs with pruning-hooks, and take away and cut down the branches. ⁶ They shall be left together to the fowls of the mountains, and to the wild beasts of the earth: And the fowls shall summer on them, and all the wild beasts of the earth shall winter on them. ⁷ In that time the present shall be brought to the LORD of hosts of a people scattered and peeled, and from a people terrible from their beginning until now; a nation meted out and trodden under foot, whose land the rivers have spoiled, to the place of the name of the LORD of hosts, the Mount Zion.

⁹ And he heard it said concerning Tirhakah king of Ethiopia, "He has come forth to make war with you." And when he heard it, he sent messengers to Hezekiah, saying,

³ For I am the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior: I gave Egypt for your ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for you.

⁵ For I have laid on you the years of their iniquity, according to the number of the days, three hundred and ninety days: So shall you bear the iniquity of the house of Israel. ⁶ And when you have accomplished them, lie again on your right side, and you shall bear the iniquity of the house of Judah forty days: I have appointed you each day for a year.

² But leave out the court which is outside the temple, and do not measure it; for it is given to the Gentiles: And they shall tread the holy city under foot for forty-two months. ³ And I will give power to my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy one thousand two hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth."
