⁴ These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens,

¹ This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God He made him;

⁹ These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.

¹ And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said to them, "Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth.

⁷ And you, be fruitful, and multiply; bring forth abundantly in the earth, and multiply in it."

¹⁹ These are the three sons of Noah: And of them the whole earth was overspread.

¹⁹ And I will set a sign among them, and I will send those who escape of them to the nations, to Tarshish, Pul, and Lud, who draw the bow, to Tubal, and Javan, to the isles afar off, that have not heard My fame, neither have seen My glory; and they shall declare My glory among the Gentiles.

⁷ Fine linen with broidered work from Egypt was that with which you spread forth to be your sail; blue and purple from the isles of Elishah was that which covered you.

¹² Tarshish was your merchant by reason of the multitude of all kinds of riches; with silver, iron, tin, and lead, they traded in your fairs. ¹³ Javan, Tubal, and Meshech, they were your merchants: They traded the persons of men and vessels of brass in your market. ¹⁴ They of the house of Togarmah traded in your fairs with horses and horsemen and mules.

¹⁹ Dan and Javan also going to and fro occupied in your fairs: Bright iron, cassia, and calamus, were in your market.

² "Son of man, set your face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him,

⁶ Gomer, and all his bands; the house of Togarmah of the north quarters, and all his bands: And many people with you.

¹⁵ And you shall come from your place out of the north parts, you, and many people with you, all of them riding upon horses, a great company, and a mighty army:

¹ "Therefore, you son of man, prophesy against Gog, and say, 'Thus says the Lord GOD; "Behold, I am against you, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal:

⁸ and shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: The number of whom is as the sand of the sea.

²⁷ Set up a standard in the land, blow the trumpet among the nations, prepare the nations against her, call together the kingdoms of Ararat, Minni, and Ashchenaz against her; appoint a captain against her; cause the horses to come up like the rough locusts.

¹⁴ They of the house of Togarmah traded in your fairs with horses and horsemen and mules.

²⁴ And ships shall come from the coast of Chittim, and shall afflict Asshur, and shall afflict Eber, and he also shall perish forever.

¹ The burden of Tyre. Howl, you ships of Tarshish; for it is laid waste, so that there is no house, no entering in: It is revealed to them from the land of Chittim.

¹² And He said, "You shall rejoice no more, O you oppressed virgin, daughter of Zidon: Arise, pass over to Chittim; there also you shall have no rest."

¹² Tarshish was your merchant by reason of the multitude of all kinds of riches; with silver, iron, tin, and lead, they traded in your fairs.

²⁵ The ships of Tarshish sang of you in your market: And you were replenished, and made very glorious in the midst of the seas.

³⁰ For the ships of Chittim shall come against him: Therefore he shall be grieved, and return, and have indignation against the holy covenant: So he shall do; he shall even return, and have intelligence with them that forsakes the holy covenant.

²⁰ These are the sons of Ham, after their families, after their tongues, in their countries, and in their nations.

²⁵ And to Eber were born two sons: The name of one was Peleg; for in his days the earth was divided; and his brother's name was Joktan.

¹ And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech. ² And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelled there. ³ And they said to one another, "Come, let us make brick, and burn them thoroughly." And they had brick for stone, and viscous mud for mortar. ⁴ And they said, "Come, let us build ourselves a city and a tower, whose top may reach to heaven; and let us make ourselves a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth." ⁵ And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men built. ⁶ And the LORD said, "Behold, the people are one, and they all have one language; and this is what they begin to do: And now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. ⁷ Come, let us go down, and in that place confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech." ⁸ So the LORD scattered them abroad from there upon the face of all the earth: And they ceased to build the city. ⁹ Therefore the name of it is called Babel; because the LORD confounded the language of all the earth there: And from that place the LORD scattered them abroad upon the face of all the earth.

¹⁰ The kings of Tarshish and of the isles shall bring presents: The kings of Sheba and Seba shall offer gifts.

¹⁵ Why do you glorify the LORD in the fires, even the name of the LORD God of Israel in the isles of the sea.

¹⁵ Behold, the nations are as a drop of a bucket, and are counted as the small dust of the balance: Behold, He takes up the isles as a very little thing.

⁵ The isles saw it, and feared; the ends of the earth were afraid, drew near, and came.

⁴ He shall not fail nor be discouraged, until He has set judgment in the earth: And the isles shall wait for His law.

¹⁰ Sing to the LORD a new song, and His praise from the end of the earth, you who go down to the sea, and all that is in it; the isles, and their inhabitants.

¹ "Listen to Me, O isles; and listen, all you people from afar; The LORD has called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother He has made mention of my name.

⁵ My righteousness is near; My salvation has gone forth, and My arms shall judge the people; the isles shall wait on Me, and upon My arm they shall trust.

¹⁸ According to their deeds, accordingly He will repay, fury to His adversaries, recompense to His enemies; to the islands He will repay recompense.

⁹ Surely the isles shall wait for Me, and the ships of Tarshish will come first, to bring your sons from afar, their silver and their gold with them, to the name of the LORD your God, and to the Holy One of Israel, because He has glorified you.

¹⁰ For pass over the isles of Chittim, and see; and send to Kedar, and consider diligently, and see if there is such a thing.

²² and all the kings of Tyrus, and all the kings of Zidon, and the kings of the isles which are beyond the sea,

¹¹ The LORD will be terrible to them: For He will famish all the gods of the earth; and men shall worship Him, every one from his place, even all the isles of the heathen.

²² And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brothers outside.

⁴⁰ And they found fat pasture and good, and the land was wide, and quiet, and peaceable; for they of Ham had dwelled there of old.

⁵¹ and smote all the firstborn in Egypt; the chief of their strength in the tabernacles of Ham:

²³ Israel also came into Egypt; and Jacob sojourned in the land of Ham.

²⁷ They showed His signs among them, and wonders in the land of Ham.

¹¹ And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set His hand again the second time to recover the remnant of His people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.

⁹ Come up, you horses; and rage, you chariots; and let the mighty men come forth; the Ethiopians and the Libyans, who handle the shield; and the Lydians, who handle and bend the bow.

¹⁰ Those from Persia and of Lud and of Phut were in your army, your men of war: They hung the shield and helmet in you; they set forth your splendor.

¹¹ The name of the first is Pison: That is the one which compasses the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold;

¹ And when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon concerning the name of the LORD, she came to prove him with hard questions.

¹³ The burden on Arabia. You shall lodge in the forest in Arabia, O you traveling companies of Dedanim.

¹⁵ The men of Dedan were your merchants; many isles were the merchandise of your hand: They brought you horns of ivory and ebony for a present.

²² The merchants of Sheba and Raamah, they were your merchants: They occupied in your fairs with chief of all spices, and with all precious stones, and gold.

⁶ And they shall waste the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of Nimrod in its entranceways: Thus He shall deliver us from the Assyrian, when he comes into our land, and when he treads within our borders.

⁴ There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men, and they bore children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.

¹¹ The earth was also corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.

¹³ But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the LORD, exceedingly so.

²⁷ And the boys grew: And Esau was a cunning hunter, a man of the field; and Jacob was a plain man, dwelling in tents.

³⁰ And it came to pass, as soon as Isaac had made an end of blessing Jacob, and Jacob had just gone out from the presence of Isaac his father, that Esau his brother came in from his hunting.

²² And in the time of his distress did he trespass yet more against the LORD: This is that king Ahaz.

⁷ Lo, this is the man that did not make God his strength; but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness.

¹⁶ Behold, I will send for many fishers", said the LORD, "and they shall fish them; and afterwards I will send for many hunters, and they shall hunt them from every mountain, and from every hill, and out of the holes of the rocks.

¹⁸ and say, 'Thus says the Lord GOD; "Woe to the women who sew pillows to all armholes, and make kerchiefs on the head of every stature to hunt souls! Will you hunt the souls of My people, and will you save alive the souls who come to you?

² The good man has perished out of the earth: And there is none upright among men: They all lie in wait for blood; they hunt every man, his brother, with a net.good; or, godly, or, merciful

² And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelled there.

¹ At that time Merodachbaladan, the son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent letters and a present to Hezekiah: For he had heard that he had been sick, and was recovered.

²¹ Go up against the land of Merathaim, even against it, and against the inhabitants of Pekod: Waste and utterly destroy after them", said the LORD, "and do according to all that I have commanded you.

² And the Lord gave Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand, with part of the vessels of the house of God: Which he carried into the land of Shinar to the house of his god; and he brought the vessels into the treasure house of his god.

² Pass over to Calneh, and see; and from there go to Hamath the great: Then go down to Gath of the Philistines: Are they better than these kingdoms? Or their border greater than your border?

¹⁰ Be in pain, and labor to bring forth, O daughter of Zion, like a woman in travail: For now you shall go forth out of the city, and you shall dwell in the field, and you shall even go to Babylon; there you shall be delivered; there the LORD shall redeem you from the hand of your enemies.

¹¹ And he said to me, "To build it a house in the land of Shinar: And it shall be established, and set there upon her own base."Shinar was a plain in Southern Babylonia; per Easton's Illustrated Bible Dictionary

²² Nevertheless the Kenite shall be wasted, until Asshur shall carry you away captive.

³⁶ So Sennacherib king of Assyria departed, and went and returned, and dwelled at Nineveh.

² then they came to Zerubbabel, and to the chief of the fathers, and said to them, "Let us build with you: For we seek your God, as you do; and we do sacrifice to him since the days of Esarhaddon king of Assur, which brought us up here.

⁸ assyria has also joined with them: They have helped the children of Lot. Selah.

³⁷ So Sennacherib king of Assyria departed, and went and returned, and dwelled at Nineveh.

²³ Haran, and Canneh, and Eden, the merchants of Sheba, Asshur, and Chilmad, were your merchants.

²² Asshur is there and all her company: His graves are about him: All of them slain, fallen by the sword:

³ Asshur shall not save us; we will not ride upon horses: Neither will we say any more to the work of our hands, 'You are our gods': For in You the fatherless finds mercy."

² "Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry out against it; for their wickedness has come up before me."

¹ And the word of the LORD came to Jonah the second time, saying, ² "Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and preach to it the preaching that I bid you." ³ So Jonah arose, and went to Nineveh, according to the word of the LORD. Now Nineveh was an exceedingly large city of three days' journey across. ⁴ And Jonah began to enter into the city one day's journey, and he cried out, and said, "Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown." ⁵ So the people of Nineveh believed God, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of them. ⁶ For word came to the king of Nineveh, and he arose from his throne, and he set apart his robe from him, and covered himself with sackcloth, and sat in ashes. ⁷ And he caused it to be proclaimed and published throughout Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, "Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste anything: Let them not feed, nor drink water: ⁸ But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily to God: Yes, let everyone turn from his evil way, and from the violence that is in their hands. ⁹ Who can tell if God will turn and repent, and turn away from His fierce anger, that we do not perish?" ¹⁰ And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that He had said that He would do to them; and He did not do it.

⁸ But Nineveh is of old like a pool of water: Yet they shall flee away. "Stand, stand", they shall cry; but none shall look back.

⁷ And it shall come to pass, that all those that look upon you shall flee from you, and say, 'Nineveh is laid waste: Who will bemoan her?' From where shall I seek comforters for you?"

¹³ And He will stretch out His hand against the north, and destroy Assyria; and will make Nineveh a desolation, and dry like a wilderness.

¹³ Zebulun shall dwell at the haven of the sea; and he shall be for a haven of ships; and his border shall be to Zidon.

⁸ and I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land to a good and a large land, to a land flowing with milk and honey; to the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites.

¹¹ Observe that which I command you this day: Behold, I drive out before you the Amorite, and the Canaanite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite.

² command the children of Israel, and say to them, When you come into the land of Canaan; (this is the land that shall fall to you for an inheritance, even the land of Canaan with its coasts): ³ Then your south quarter shall be from the wilderness of Zin along by the border of Edom, and your south border shall be the outmost border of the salt sea eastward: ⁴ And your border shall turn from the south to the ascent of Akrabbim, and pass on to Zin: And the going forth of it shall be from the south to Kadeshbarnea, and shall go on to Hazaraddar, and pass on to Azmon: ⁵ And the border shall fetch a compass from Azmon to the river of Egypt, and the goings out of it shall be at the sea. ⁶ And as for the western border, you shall even have the great sea for a border: This shall be your west border. ⁷ And this shall be your north border: From the great sea you shall point out for you Mount Hor: ⁸ From Mount Hor you shall point out your border to the entrance of Hamath; and the goings forth of the border shall be to Zedad: ⁹ And the border shall go on to Ziphron, and the goings out of it shall be at Hazarenan: This shall be your north border. ¹⁰ And you shall point out your east border from Hazarenan to Shepham: ¹¹ And the coast shall go down from Shepham to Riblah, on the east side of Ain; and the border shall descend, and shall reach to the side of the sea of Chinnereth eastward: ¹² And the border shall go down to Jordan, and the goings out of it shall be at the salt sea: This shall be your land with its coasts all around. ¹³ And Moses commanded the children of Israel, saying, "This is the land which you shall inherit by lot, which the LORD commanded to give to the nine tribes, and to the half tribe: ¹⁴ For the tribe of the children of Reuben according to the house of their fathers, and the tribe of the children of Gad according to the house of their fathers, have received their inheritance; and half the tribe of Manasseh have received their inheritance: ¹⁵ The two tribes and the half tribe have received their inheritance on this side of the Jordan near Jericho eastward, toward the sun rise.

⁸ And the LORD delivered them into the hand of Israel, who smote them, and chased them to great Zidon, and to Misrephothmaim, and to the valley of Mizpeh eastward; and they smote them, until they left them none remaining.

⁸ When the Most High divided to the nations their inheritance, when he separated the sons of Adam, he set the bounds of the people according to the number of the children of Israel.

⁷ And these are the kings of the country which Joshua and the children of Israel smote on this side of the Jordan on the west, from Baalgad in the valley of Lebanon even to the Mount Halak, that goes up to Seir; which Joshua gave to the tribes of Israel for a possession according to their divisions; ⁸ in the mountains, and in the valleys, and in the plains, and in the springs, and in the wilderness, and in the south country; the Hittites, the Amorites, and the Canaanites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites:

²⁶ And he said, "Blessed be the LORD God of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant."

¹ And it came to pass in the days of Amraphel king of Shinar, Arioch king of Ellasar, Chedorlaomer king of Elam, and Tidal king of nations; ² that these made war with Bera king of Sodom, and with Birsha king of Gomorrah, Shinab king of Admah, and Shemeber king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela, which is Zoar. ³ All these were joined together in the valley of Siddim, which is the salt sea. ⁴ For twelve years they served Chedorlaomer, and in the thirteenth year they rebelled. ⁵ And in the fourteenth year Chedorlaomer came, and the kings that were with him, and smote the Rephaims in Ashteroth Karnaim, and the Zuzims in Ham, and the Emins in Shaveh Kiriathaim, ⁶ and the Horites in their Mount Seir, to Elparan, which is by the wilderness. ⁷ And they returned, and came to Enmishpat, which is Kadesh, and smote all the country of the Amalekites, and also the Amorites, that dwelled in Hazezontamar. ⁸ And the king of Sodom went out, and the king of Gomorrah, and the king of Admah, and the king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela (the same is Zoar); and they joined battle with them in the valley of Siddim; ⁹ with Chedorlaomer the king of Elam, and with Tidal king of nations, and Amraphel king of Shinar, and Arioch king of Ellasar; four kings with five.

⁷ And he took up his parable, and said, "Balak the king of Moab has brought me from Aram, out of the mountains of the east, saying, "Come, curse me Jacob, and come, defy Israel.

¹⁹ And Pul the king of Assyria came against the land: And Menahem gave Pul a thousand talents of silver, that his hand might be with him to confirm the kingdom in his hand.

¹⁷ The sons of Shem; Elam, and Asshur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram, and Uz, and Hul, and Gether, and Meshech. ¹⁸ And Arphaxad begat Shelah, and Shelah begat Eber. ¹⁹ And to Eber were born two sons: The name of the one was Peleg; because in his days the earth was divided: And his brother's name was Joktan. ²⁰ And Joktan begat Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazarmaveth, and Jerah, ²¹ hadoram also, and Uzal, and Diklah, ²² and Ebal, and Abimael, and Sheba, ²³ and Ophir, and Havilah, and Jobab. All these were the sons of Joktan. ²⁴ Shem, Arphaxad, Shelah, ²⁵ eber, Peleg, Reu, ²⁶ serug, Nahor, Terah, ²⁷ abram; the same is Abraham.

¹⁷ While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, "The Chaldeans made out three bands, and fell on the camels, and have carried them away, yes, and slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell you.

² A grievous vision is declared to me; the treacherous dealer deals treacherously, and the spoiler spoils. Go up, O Elam: Besiege, O Media; I have made all her sighing to cease.

⁹ Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia,

¹ There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil.

¹⁶ And Eber lived thirty-four years, and begat Peleg: ¹⁷ And after Eber begat Peleg, he lived four hundred and thirty years, and begat sons and daughters. ¹⁸ And Peleg lived thirty years, and begat Reu: ¹⁹ And after Peleg begat Reu, he lived two hundred and nine years, and begat sons and daughters.

²⁶ and He has made from one blood all nations of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined the pre-appointed times, and the bounds of their habitation;

²⁰ And Joktan begat Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazarmaveth, and Jerah, ²¹ hadoram also, and Uzal, and Diklah, ²² and Ebal, and Abimael, and Sheba, ²³ and Ophir, and Havilah, and Jobab. ³ And Jokshan begat Sheba, and Dedan. And the sons of Dedan were Asshurim, and Letushim, and Leummim.

¹⁸ And they dwelled from Havilah to Shur, that is before Egypt, as you go toward Assyria: And he died in the presence of all his brothers.

⁷ And Saul smote the Amalekites from Havilah until you come to Shur, that is bordering Egypt.

²⁸ And they came to Ophir, and fetched from there gold, four hundred and twenty talents, and brought it to king Solomon.

⁴⁸ Jehoshaphat made ships of Tharshish to go to Ophir for gold: But they went not; for the ships were broken at Eziongeber.

¹⁸ ishmerai also, and Jezliah, and Jobab, the sons of Elpaal;

¹⁰ And of the priests; Jedaiah, and Jehoiarib, and Jachin,

¹³ and their brothers, heads of the house of their fathers, a thousand and seven hundred and three score; very able men for the work of the service of the house of God.

²⁴ Then you shall lay up gold as dust, and the gold of Ophir as the stones of the brooks.

¹⁶ It cannot be valued with the gold of Ophir, with the precious onyx, or the sapphire.

⁹ Kings' daughters were among Your honorable women: Upon Your right hand stood the queen in gold of Ophir.

¹² I will make a man more precious than fine gold; a man even more than the golden wedge of Ophir.

⁵ By these the isles of the Gentiles were divided in their lands; every one after his tongue, after their families, in their nations.

²⁹ And he called his name Noah, saying, "This one shall comfort us concerning our work and toil of our hands, because of the ground which the LORD has cursed." ³⁰ And after Lamech begat Noah, he lived five hundred and ninety-five years, and begat sons and daughters: ³¹ And all the days of Lamech were seven hundred and seventy-seven years: And he died.

¹ Now these are the generations of the sons of Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth: And sons were born to them after the flood.

³¹ These are the sons of Shem, after their families, after their tongues, in their lands, after their nations.
