⁶ Moreover he said, "I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob." And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God.

²⁰ And He said, "You cannot see My face: For there no man shall see Me, and live."

²³ And I will take away My hand, and you shall see My back parts: But My face shall not be seen."

²¹ But the angel of the LORD did not appear anymore to Manoah and to his wife. Then Manoah knew that he was an angel of the LORD. ²² And Manoah said to his wife, "We shall surely die, because we have seen God."

¹⁹ And he said, "Hear you therefore the word of the LORD: I saw the LORD sitting on his throne, and all the host of heaven standing by him on his right hand and on his left.

¹⁰ Who is she that looks forth as the morning, fair as the moon, clear as the sun, and formidable as an army with banners?

¹ In the year that king Uzziah died I also saw the LORD sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and robe train filled the temple. ² Above it stood the seraphim: Each one had six wings; with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. ³ And one cried out to another, and said, "Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: The whole earth is full of his glory." ⁴ And the posts of the door moved at the voice of Him who cried, and the house was filled with smoke. ⁵ Then I said, "Woe is me! For I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: For my eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts."

²⁶ And above the firmament that was over their heads was the likeness of a throne, as the appearance of a sapphire stone: And on the likeness of the throne was a likeness as the appearance of a man above upon it. ²⁷ And I saw as the color of amber, as the appearance of fire all around within it, from the appearance of His loins even upward, and from the appearance of His loins even downward, I saw as it were the appearance of fire, and it had brightness all around. ²⁸ Like the appearance of a rainbow that is in the cloud on a rainy day, so was the appearance of the brightness all around. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD. And when I saw it, I fell upon my face, and I heard a voice of One who spoke.

¹ Then I looked, and behold, in the firmament that was above the head of the cherubims there appeared over them as it were a sapphire stone, as the appearance of the likeness of a throne.

² and was transfigured before them: And His face shined as the sun, and His clothes were white as the light.

¹⁸ No man has seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.

⁴⁶ Not that any man has seen the Father, except He which is of God, He has seen the Father.

⁹ Jesus said to him, "Have I been with you so long a time, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He that has seen Me has seen the Father; therefore how come you say, 'Show us the Father'?

¹⁶ who only has immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach; whom no man has seen, nor can see: To whom be honor and power everlasting. Amen.

¹² No man has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwells in us, and His love is perfected in us.

¹⁶ And He had in His right hand seven stars: And out of His mouth went a sharp two-edged sword: And His countenance was as the sun shining in His strength.

³ And He that sat there looked like a jasper and a sardius stone: And there was a rainbow all around the throne, that by sight looked like an emerald.sardius; or, ruby

¹¹ having the glory of God: And her light was like a most precious stone, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal;

¹⁸ And its wall was built of jasper: And the city was pure gold, like clear glass. ¹⁹ And the foundations of the wall of the city were adorned with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald; ²⁰ the fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprase; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst.sardius; or, ruby ²¹ And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; every distinct gate was of one pearl: And the street of the city was pure gold, even like transparent glass. ²² And I saw no temple in it: For the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it. ²³ And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: For the glory of God illuminates it, and the Lamb is the light of it.
