¹⁴ But if a man comes presumptuously upon his neighbor, to slay him with guile; you shall take him from My altar, that he may die.

³⁰ But the soul that does ought presumptuously, whether he be born in the land, or a stranger, the same reproaches the LORD; and that soul shall be cut off from among his people. ³¹ Because he has despised the word of the LORD, and has broken his commandment, that soul shall utterly be cut off; his iniquity shall be on him.

²⁰ But if he thrust him of hatred, or hurl at him by laying of wait, that he die; ²¹ or in enmity smite him with his hand, that he die: He that smote him shall surely be put to death; for he is a murderer: The revenger of blood shall slay the murderer, when he meets him.

⁴³ So I spoke to you; and you would not hear, but rebelled against the commandment of the LORD, and went presumptuously up into the hill.

¹² And the man that will do presumptuously, and will not listen to the priest that stands to minister there before the LORD your God, or to the judge, even that man shall die: And you shall put away the evil from Israel. ¹³ And all the people shall hear, and fear, and do no more presumptuously.

²² When a prophet speaks in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD has not spoken, but the prophet has spoken it presumptuously: You shall not be afraid of him.

¹¹ But if any man hate his neighbor, and lie in wait for him, and rise up against him, and smite him mortally that he die, and flees into one of these cities: ¹² Then the elders of his city shall send and fetch him there, and deliver him into the hand of the avenger of blood, that he may die. ¹³ Your eye shall not pity him, but you shall put away the guilt of innocent blood from Israel, that it may go well with you.

²⁴ Cursed be he that smites his neighbor secretly. And all the people shall say, "Amen.

²⁷ And when Abner was returned to Hebron, Joab took him aside in the gate to speak with him quietly, and smote him there under the fifth rib, that he died, for the blood of Asahel his brother.

⁹ And Joab said to Amasa, "Are you in health, my brother? ¹⁵ But Jehoiada the priest commanded the captains of the hundreds, the officers of the host, and said to them, "Have her forth outside the ranges: And him that follows her kill with the sword. For the priest had said, "Let her not be slain in the house of the LORD.

¹³ Keep back Your servant also from presumptuous sins; do not let them have dominion over me: Then I shall be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.

²⁶ For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remains no more sacrifice for sins,

¹⁰ But especially those that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. They are presumptuous, self-willed, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignitaries.
