¹² that we should be for a praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ;

¹⁸ Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, with whom my soul is well pleased; I will put my spirit on him, and he shall declare judgment to the nations. ¹⁹ He shall not strive nor cry aloud, nor shall any one hear his voice in the streets. ²⁰ A bruised reed shall he not break, and a smoking flax shall be not extinguish, till he sends forth judgment to victory. ²¹ And in his name shall nations hope.

¹³ in whom also you, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, in whom also you having believed were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, ¹⁴ which is a pledge of our inheritance for the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of his glory.

⁷ that he might show in the ages to come the transcendent riches of his grace in goodness to us by Jesus Christ.

²¹ to him be the glory in the church in Jesus Christ to all generations, for ever and ever; amen.

^{13 (1:4)} But we ought to thank God always for you, brothers beloved by the Lord, because God from the beginning chose you to salvation by purification of spirit, and belief of the truth,

¹² for which cause I suffer these things; but I am not ashamed; for I know in whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep my trust to that day.

¹⁸ Of his own will begat he us by the word of truth, that we should be a kind of first fruit of his creatures.
