⁶ Now Jacob's well was there. Jesus, therefore, being wearied from his journey, sat by the well: and it was about the sixth hour.

² And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was hungry.

²⁴ And, behold, there arose a great tempest on the sea, so that the boat was covered with the waves: but he was asleep.

⁴⁵ Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land until the ninth hour.

⁷ And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in strips of cloth, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.

⁵⁸ And Jesus said to him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man has nowhere to lay his head.

⁹ Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man walks in the day, he does not stumble, because he sees the light of this world.

⁹ For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that through his poverty you might become rich.

¹⁷ Therefore, in all things he had to be made like his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make atonement for the sins of the people.

¹⁵ For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our infirmities; but one who in every respect was tempted as we are, yet without sin.
