³⁶ Simon Peter said to him, Lord, where are you going? Jesus answered him, Where I go, you cannot follow me now; but you shall follow me afterwards.

³³ Little children, yet a little while I am with you. You shall seek me: and as I said to the Jews, so now I say to you: Where I go, you cannot come.

² In my Father's house are many dwelling places: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

⁴ And you know the way to the place where I go. ⁵ Thomas said to him, Lord, we do not know where you are going; so how can we know the way?

¹⁷ Then some of his disciples said among themselves, What is this that he says to us, In a little while you shall not see me: and again, in a little while, you shall see me: and, Because I go to the Father?

¹⁸ Truly, truly, I say to you, When you were young, you girded yourself, and walked where you wanted: but when you grow old, you shall stretch forth your hands, and another shall gird you, and carry you where you do not want to go. ¹⁹ This he spoke to signify by what kind of death he would glorify God. ²¹ Peter, seeing him, said to Jesus, Lord, what about this man? ²² Jesus said to him, If I want him to remain until I come, what is that to you? you follow me.
