²³ Which is his body, the fulness of him who fills all things everywhere.

¹⁶ And of his fulness we have all received, and grace upon grace.

⁵ Therefore you must be subject, not only to avoid wrath, but also for conscience sake.

⁶ And there are various kinds of working, but it is the same God who works all of them in all men.

¹² For just as the body is one, and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body: so it is with Christ. ¹³ For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slave or free; and have all been made to drink of one Spirit. ¹⁴ For the body is not one member, but many. ¹⁵ If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not part of the body; is it therefore not part of the body? ¹⁶ And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not part of the body; is it therefore not part of the body? ¹⁷ If the whole body were an eye, where would the hearing be? If the whole were hearing, where would the sense of smell be? ¹⁸ But now God has set the members, every one of them, in the body, as it has pleased him. ¹⁹ And if they were all one member, where would the body be? ²⁰ But as it is, there are many members, yet one body. ²¹ And the eye cannot say to the hand, I have no need of you: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you. ²² No, those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are the most necessary: ²³ And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our unpresentable parts are treated with special modesty, ²⁴ Of which our presentable parts have no need: but God has composed the body, giving more abundant honour to that part which lacked it: ²⁵ That there should be no division in the body; but that the members should have the same care for one another. ²⁶ And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; or if one member is honoured, all the members rejoice with it. ²⁷ Now you are the body of Christ, and individually members of it.

²⁸ And when all things shall be subjected to him, then shall the Son himself be subject to him who put all things under him, that God may be all in all.

¹⁶ And that he might reconcile both to God, in one body, through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity.

¹⁹ And to know the love of Christ, which passes knowledge, that you might be filled with all the fulness of God.

⁴ There is one body, and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope in your calling;

¹⁰ He who descended is the same one who ascended far above all the heavens, that he might fill all things.)

¹² For the equipping of the saints for the work of the ministry, for the building up of the body of Christ:

²³ For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church, his body: and he himself is its saviour. ²⁴ Therefore, as the church is subject to Christ, so let wives be to their own husbands in everything. ²⁵ Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church, and gave himself up for her; ²⁶ That he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water through the word, ²⁷ That he might present her to himself a glorious church, without spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that she should be holy and without blemish. ²⁸ So husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. ²⁹ For no man ever hated his own flesh; but he nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church: ³⁰ Because we are members of his body. ³¹ For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother, and be joined to his wife, and the two shall be one flesh. ³² This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.

¹⁸ He is also the head of the body, the church: he is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have preeminence. ¹⁹ For it pleased the Father, that all his fulness should dwell in him;

²⁴ Now I rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up in my flesh that which is lacking in the afflictions of Christ for his body's sake, which is the church:

⁹ For in him all the fulness of Deity dwells in bodily form. ¹⁰ And you are complete in him, who is the head of all rule and authority.

¹¹ Here there is neither Greek or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian or Scythian, slave or free: but Christ is all, and in all.

¹⁵ And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to this; and be thankful.
