Hebrews 4:1-11

1 Therefore, let us fear, lest while a promise of entering into his rest remains, any of you should seem to fall short of it. 2 For the gospel was preached to us, as well as to them: but the word preached did not benefit them, because it was not combined with faith in those who heard it. 3 For we who have believed enter into that rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, they shall never enter my rest: although his works were finished from the foundation of the world. 4 For he spoke in a certain place of the seventh day in this manner, And God rested on the seventh day from all his works. 5 And again in this passage, They shall never enter my rest. 6 Therefore, since it remains that some must enter in, and those to whom it was first preached did not enter in because of unbelief: 7 He again fixes a certain day, calling it Today, saying through David after so long a time, as was said before, Today if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts. 8 For if Joshua had given them rest, then he would not afterward have spoken of another day. 9 Therefore, there remains a sabbath rest for the people of God. 10 For he who has entered his rest, has also has ceased from his own works, as God did from his. 11 Therefore, let us labour to enter that rest, lest any man fall by following their example of disobedience.
