¹ Paul, and Silvanus, and Timothy, to the church of the Thessalonians which is in God the Father and in the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace to you, and peace. ² We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers; ³ Always remembering your work of faith, and labour of love, and endurance of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of our God and Father; ⁴ Knowing, brethren loved by God, that he has chosen you. ⁵ For our gospel came to you not in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit, and with full conviction. You know what manner of men we were among you for your sake. ⁶ And you became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word despite much affliction, with joy from the Holy Spirit: ⁷ So that you became an example to all who believe in Macedonia and Achaia. ⁸ For from you the word of the Lord sounded out not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but your faith in God has spread abroad; so that we need not speak anything. ⁹ For they themselves testify about what manner of reception we had from you, and how you turned to God from idols to serve a living and true God; ¹⁰ And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, that is, Jesus, who delivers us from the wrath to come.

⁵ Even so, at this present time, there is a remnant, chosen by grace. ⁶ And if by grace, then it is no longer by works: otherwise grace is no longer grace. ⁷ What then? Israel has not obtained that which it sought; but the elect have obtained it, and the rest were blinded.

⁴ Love is patient, and is kind; love does not envy; love does not boast, and is not arrogant; ⁵ It is not rude, does not insist on its own way, is not easily provoked, it keeps no account of wrongs suffered; ⁶ It does not rejoice in injustice, but rejoices in the truth; ⁷ Bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

¹³ And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

⁵⁸ Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

¹⁹ For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us, by myself and Silvanus and Timothy, was not yes and no, but in him is always yes.

¹ Therefore, since we have this ministry by God's mercy, we do not loose heart; ² But we have renounced the hidden, shameful things, and do not walk in craftiness, nor handle the word of God deceitfully; but by the manifestation of the truth we commend ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God. ³ But if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing.

¹⁴ For the love of Christ controls us; because we are convinced that one died for all, therefore all died: ¹⁵ And he died for all, that those who live should not henceforth live for themselves, but for him who died for them, and rose again.

³ We give no offence in anything, that the ministry may not be discredited: ⁴ But as the ministers of God we commend ourselves in all things; in much endurance, in afflictions, in hardships, in distress, ⁵ In beatings, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labours, in sleeplessness, in hunger; ⁶ By purity, by knowledge, by patience, by kindness, in the Holy Spirit, in unfeigned love, ⁷ By the word of truth, by the power of God, by the weapons of righteousness in the right hand and in the left, ⁸ In honour and dishonour, in evil report and good report: regarded as deceivers, and yet true; ⁹ As unknown, and yet well known; as dying, yet, behold, we live; as chastened, and yet not killed; ¹⁰ As sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.

¹⁶ And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? for we are the temple of the living God; as God has said, I will live in them, and walk among them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. ¹⁷ Therefore, come out from among them, and be separate, says the Lord, and do not touch the unclean thing; and I will welcome you,

¹ And now, brethren, we want you to know of the grace of God bestowed on the churches of Macedonia; ² For during a great test of affliction, the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty overflowed in a wealth of liberality.

⁵ And this they did, not as we expected, but they first gave themselves to the Lord, and to us by the will of God.

⁷ Therefore, as you excel in everything, in faith, and utterance, and knowledge, and in all earnestness, and in your love for us, see that you excel in this gracious work as well. ⁸ I do not speak this as a commandment, but to use the zeal of others to test the sincerity of your own love. ⁹ For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that through his poverty you might become rich.

² For I know your eagerness, of which I boast to the Macedonians, saying that you in Achaia were ready a year ago; and your zeal has stirred up most of them.

⁴ For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but are mighty before God for the pulling down of strongholds. ⁵ We cast down arguments, and every lofty thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ;

⁹ And when I was present with you, and in want, I burdened no man: for that which I lacked the brethren who came from Macedonia supplied: and in all things I have kept myself from being burdensome to you, and so I will continue to do. ¹⁰ As the truth of Christ is in me, no man in the regions of Achaia shall stop me from this boasting.

² And all the brethren who are with me, to the churches of Galatia:

⁴ Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of our God and Father:

⁸ But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach any other gospel to you than that which we have preached to you, let him be eternally accursed. ⁹ As we said before, so now I say again, If any man preach any other gospel to you than that which you have received, let him be eternally accursed. ¹⁰ Do I now seek the favour of men, or of God? or do I seek to please men? if I were still pleasing men, I should not be a servant of Christ. ¹¹ But I want you to know, brethren, that the gospel which I preached is not from man. ¹² For I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but it came by revelation from Jesus Christ.

⁷ Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. Behold, the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, and is patient for it, until it receives the early and the late rains. ⁸ You also be patient; establish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draws near.

¹⁴ Therefore, beloved, seeing that you look for these things, be diligent that you may be found at peace with him, without spot, and blameless.
