¹⁴ Cancelling the bond of debt, with its legal decrees against us, which was contrary to us, and taking it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

⁶ And they were both righteous before God, walking blamelessly in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord.

¹⁹ Therefore repent, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord;

¹ Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, does not differ at all from a servant, though he is owner of all; ² But is under guardians and trustees until the time appointed by the father. ³ So we, when we were children, were in bondage to the elementary principles of the world: ⁴ But when the time had fully come, God sent forth his Son, born of a woman, born under the law,

¹⁴ For he is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the wall of hostility between us; ¹⁵ Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, the law of commandments and ordinances; to create in himself one new man in place of two, thus making peace; ¹⁶ And that he might reconcile both to God, in one body, through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity.

²⁰ Therefore, if you are dead with Christ to the elementary principles of the world, why, as though still living in the world, do you submit to such ordinances as,

⁷ For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work: only he who now restrains it will do so, until he is taken out of the way.

¹⁸ So, there is a setting aside of the former commandment because of its weakness and uselessness,

¹³ When he says, A new covenant, he has made the first one obsolete. Now that which is obsolete and grows old is ready to vanish away.

⁹ Which is a symbol for the present age, in which both gifts and sacrifices are offered which cannot make the worshipper perfect in conscience; ¹⁰ For they are only a matter of food and drink, and various washings, and regulations for the body, imposed until the time of reformation.

⁸ After he said above, Sacrifices and offerings and burnt offerings and offerings for sin you did not desire, neither did you have pleasure in them, which are offered according to the law; ⁹ Then said he, Lo, I come to do your will, O God. He takes away the first, that he may establish the second.

²⁴ He himself bore our sins in his own body on the tree, that we might die to sins and live to righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.
