² But we have renounced the hidden, shameful things, and do not walk in craftiness, nor handle the word of God deceitfully; but by the manifestation of the truth we commend ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.

¹⁶ For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

²¹ But what benefit did you get from those things of which you are now ashamed? for the result of those things is death.

⁵ Therefore, judge nothing before the time; before the Lord comes, who will both bring to light the things hidden in darkness, and will disclose the motives of the heart: and then every man shall have his praise from God.

¹² For our boast is in this: the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have conducted ourselves in the world, and still more toward you.

¹⁷ For we are not as so many, who peddle the word of God: but as men of sincerity, as from God, we speak in Christ in the sight of God.

¹¹ Therefore, knowing the fear of the Lord, we persuade men. But what we are is plain to God; and I also trust it is plain to your consciences.

⁴ But as the ministers of God we commend ourselves in all things; in much endurance, in afflictions, in hardships, in distress, ⁵ In beatings, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labours, in sleeplessness, in hunger; ⁶ By purity, by knowledge, by patience, by kindness, in the Holy Spirit, in unfeigned love, ⁷ By the word of truth, by the power of God, by the weapons of righteousness in the right hand and in the left,

¹⁴ For if I have boasted at all to him about you, I was not put to shame; but as we spoke all things to you in truth, even so our boasting to Titus has proved true.

³ But I fear, lest, as the serpent deceived Eve through his cunning, so your minds will be led astray from the simplicity that is in Christ.

⁶ But though I am unskilled in speech, yet I am not in knowledge; we have made this plain to you in all things.

¹³ For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. ¹⁴ And no wonder; for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. ¹⁵ Therefore it is no surprise if his servants are also disguised as servants of righteousness; their end shall be according to their works.

¹⁴ That we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the cunning of men, by their craftiness in deceitful scheming.

¹² For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done by the disobedient in secret.

³ For our exhortation does not spring from error, or impurity, or guile: ⁴ But just as we were approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, who tests our hearts. ⁵ For at no time did we use either flattering words, as you know, or a cloak for greed; as God is witness:
