¹⁰ You are witnesses, and so is God, how holy and just and blameless was our behaviour toward you who believe:

¹⁸ And when they had come to him, he said to them, You yourselves know, from the first day that I came to Asia, in what manner I have lived among you at all times,

²⁶ Therefore, I testify to you this day, that I am innocent of the blood of all men.

³³ I have coveted no man's silver, or gold, or apparel. ³⁴ You yourselves know, that these hands have ministered to my needs, and to the needs of those who were with me.

¹⁶ So I discipline myself, to always have a clear conscience before God and men.

¹² For our boast is in this: the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have conducted ourselves in the world, and still more toward you.

² But we have renounced the hidden, shameful things, and do not walk in craftiness, nor handle the word of God deceitfully; but by the manifestation of the truth we commend ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.

¹¹ Therefore, knowing the fear of the Lord, we persuade men. But what we are is plain to God; and I also trust it is plain to your consciences.

³ We give no offence in anything, that the ministry may not be discredited: ⁴ But as the ministers of God we commend ourselves in all things; in much endurance, in afflictions, in hardships, in distress, ⁵ In beatings, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labours, in sleeplessness, in hunger; ⁶ By purity, by knowledge, by patience, by kindness, in the Holy Spirit, in unfeigned love, ⁷ By the word of truth, by the power of God, by the weapons of righteousness in the right hand and in the left, ⁸ In honour and dishonour, in evil report and good report: regarded as deceivers, and yet true; ⁹ As unknown, and yet well known; as dying, yet, behold, we live; as chastened, and yet not killed; ¹⁰ As sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.

² Open your hearts to us; we have wronged no man, we have corrupted no man, we have defrauded no man.

¹¹ Why? because I do not love you? God knows I do.

³¹ The God and Father of our Lord Jesus, who is blessed forevermore, knows that I do not lie.

⁵ For our gospel came to you not in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit, and with full conviction. You know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.

⁵ For at no time did we use either flattering words, as you know, or a cloak for greed; as God is witness:

⁷ For you yourselves know how you ought to imitate us: for we were not idle among you;

¹² Let no man despise your youth; but be an example to the believers, in word, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.

¹⁰ But you have fully known my teaching, manner of life, purpose, faith, patience, love, steadfastness,

⁷ In all things show yourself to be an example of good works, and in your teaching show purity, dignity, ⁸ And sound speech, which cannot be condemned; so that he who is opposed may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of us.

³ Not being lords over those in your charge, but being examples to the flock.
