¹⁸ Little children, it is the last hour: and as you have heard that the antichrist shall come, even now there are many antichrists; by this we know that it is the last hour.

⁵ For many shall come in my name, saying, I am the Christ; and shall deceive many.

¹¹ And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.

²⁴ For false Christs shall arise, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; so as to deceive, if it were possible, even the very elect.

⁶ For many will come in my name, saying, I am he; and shall deceive many.

²¹ And then if any man says to you, Lo, here is the Christ; or, lo, there he is; do not believe him: ²² For false Christs and false prophets shall arise, and shall show signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.

⁵ Then Jesus said to them, Children, have you any fish? They answered him, No.

²⁹ For I know this, that after my departure savage wolves shall enter in among you, not sparing the flock. ³⁰ And from among your own selves men shall arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after them.

³ Let no man deceive you in any way: for that day shall not come, until there is first a falling away, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of perdition; ⁴ Who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he sits as God in the temple of God, proclaiming himself to be God. ⁵ Do you not remember, that when I was yet with you, I told you these things? ⁶ And you know what restrains him now, that he might be revealed in his time. ⁷ For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work: only he who now restrains it will do so, until he is taken out of the way. ⁸ And then shall the lawless one be revealed, whom the Lord shall slay with the breath of his mouth, and shall destroy by the brightness of his coming. ⁹ The coming of the lawless one is through the working of Satan, with all power and signs and lying wonders, ¹⁰ And with all wicked deception for those who perish; because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. ¹¹ And for this reason God shall send them a strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: ¹² That all those might be condemned who did not believe the truth, but took pleasure in unrighteousness.

¹ Now the Spirit expressly says that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; ² Taught by hypocritical liars; who have their consciences seared as with a hot iron; ³ Forbidding marriage, and commanding abstinence from foods which God has created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.

¹ But know this also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. ² For men shall be lovers of their own selves, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, ³ Without natural affection, implacable, false accusers, intemperate, fierce, despisers of good, ⁴ Treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God; ⁵ Holding to a form of godliness, but denying its power. From such men turn away. ⁶ For among them are those who creep into houses, and lead captive weak-willed women laden with sins, led away by various desires,

³ For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but having itching ears, they shall gather up teachers for themselves to suit their own desires; ⁴ And they shall turn their ears away from the truth, and shall turn aside to myths.

² Has in these last days spoken to us by his Son, whom he has appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds.

⁵ Who are guarded by the power of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

²⁰ Who was chosen before the foundation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for you,

¹ But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who secretly shall bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

³ Knowing this first, that in the last days scoffers shall come, scoffing and walking after their own lusts,

²² Who is the liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is the antichrist, who denies the Father and the Son.

¹ Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God: because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

³ And every spirit that does not confess Jesus, is not of God: this is the spirit of antichrist, of which you have heard that it was coming; and now is already in the world.

⁷ For many deceivers have gone out into the world, who do not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh. Such a one is a deceiver and an antichrist.

¹⁸ They told you there would be mockers in the last time, who would walk after their own ungodly lusts.
