3 Let no man deceive you in any way: for that day shall not come, until there is first a falling away, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of perdition;
4 Who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he sits as God in the temple of God, proclaiming himself to be God.
5 Do you not remember, that when I was yet with you, I told you these things?
6 And you know what restrains him now, that he might be revealed in his time.
7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work: only he who now restrains it will do so, until he is taken out of the way.
8 And then shall the lawless one be revealed, whom the Lord shall slay with the breath of his mouth, and shall destroy by the brightness of his coming.
9 The coming of the lawless one is through the working of Satan, with all power and signs and lying wonders,
10 And with all wicked deception for those who perish; because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11 And for this reason God shall send them a strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
12 That all those might be condemned who did not believe the truth, but took pleasure in unrighteousness.
