¹⁸ Was any man circumcised when he was called? let him not become uncircumcised. Was any uncircumcised when called? let him not be circumcised.

¹ And certain men who came down from Judaea taught the brethren, saying, Unless you are circumcised according to the custom of Moses, you cannot be saved. ² Therefore when Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and debate with them, they determined that Paul and Barnabas, and certain others of them, should go up to Jerusalem to the apostles and elders about this question.

⁵ But some from the sect of the Pharisees who had believed, rose up, saying, It is necessary to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the law of Moses.

¹⁹ Therefore, my judgment is that we do not trouble those who have turned to God from among the Gentiles:

²⁴ Since we have heard that some, to whom we gave no such commandment, went out from us and have troubled you with their words, subverting your souls, saying, You must be circumcised, and keep the law:

²⁸ For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things;

¹ It is for liberty that Christ has made us free. Therefore, stand fast and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery. ² Behold, I, Paul say to you, that if you are circumcised, Christ shall be of no value to you. ³ For I testify again to every man who receives circumcision, that he is obliged to obey the whole law.

¹¹ Here there is neither Greek or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian or Scythian, slave or free: but Christ is all, and in all.
