¹ In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

²³ "Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and shall bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel;" that is, when interpreted, Godis withus.

² The same was in the beginning with God.

¹⁴ And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, full of grace and truth; and we beheld his glory, a glory as of an only begotten of a father.

⁹ to make all men see what is the dispensation of the mystery, which hath been hidden for ages in God, who created all things;

⁸ but of the Son: "Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever; and the sceptre of thy kingdom is a sceptre of righteousness. ⁹ Thou lovedst righteousness, and hatedst iniquity; therefore God, thy God, anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows." ¹⁰ And: "Thou, Lord, in the beginning didst found the earth, and the heavens are the works of thy hands. ¹¹ They will perish, but thou remainest; and they will all become old as doth a garment, ¹² and thou wilt fold them up as a vesture, and they will be changed; but thou art the same, and thy years will not fail." ¹³ But to which of the angels hath he ever said: "Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool?"

³ without father, without mother, without record of descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life, but likened to the Son of God, remaineth a priest for ever.

⁸ Jesus Christ is yesterday and today the same, and for ever.

¹ Symeon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, to those who have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of our God, and the Saviour Jesus Christ:

¹ That which was from the beginning, that which we have heard, that which we have seen with our eyes, that which we looked upon, and our hands handled, concerning the word of life, ² and the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and announce to you the everlasting life, which was with the Father, and was manifested to us,

⁷ For there are three that bear witness,

²⁰ And we know that the Son of God hath come, and hath given us understanding, that we may know the True One; and we are in the True One, in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and everlasting life.

² who bore witness of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ,of whatever he saw.

⁸ I am the Alpha and the Omega, saith the Lord God, he who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.

¹¹ saying: What thou seest, write in a book, and send it to the seven churches; to Ephesus, and to Smyrna, and to Pergamus, and to Thyatira, and to Sardes, and to Philadelphia, and to Laodicea.

¹⁷ And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead; and he laid his right hand on me, saying, Fear not; I am the first and the last,

⁸ And to the angel of the church in Smyrna write: These things saith the first and the last, who was dead, and lived again:

¹⁴ And to the angel of the church in Laodicea write: These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God:

¹³ and he was clothed with a garment dipped in blood; and his name is called, The Word of God.

⁶ And he said to me, All things are accomplished. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To him that thirsteth I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely.
