Romans 6 Cross References - NSB

5 If we have become united with him in the likeness of his death, we shall be in the likeness of his resurrection. 6 We know this that our old self was impaled with him that the body of sin might be destroyed, that we should no longer be in bondage to sin. 7 He who has died is freed from sin. 8 If we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him. 9 We know that Christ being raised from the dead died no more; death no longer has dominion over him. 10 For the death that he died, he died with reference to sin once. But the life that he lives, he lives to God. 11 Consider yourselves to be dead with reference to sin, but alive with reference to God through Christ Jesus. 12 Let no sin rule in your mortal body, that you should obey the lustful desires. 13 Also do not present your members to sin as instruments of unrighteousness. Present yourselves to God, as alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness for God. 14 Sin will not have dominion over you. For you are not under law, but under grace. 15 What then? Shall we sin, because we are not under law, but under grace? God forbid! 16 Do you not know that if you present yourselves to anyone as obedient servants you are his (voluntary) servants because you obey him? This could be obedience to sin with death in view or obedience to righteousness with holiness in view? 17 But thanks to God, that you were the servants of sin yet you became obedient from the heart to the teachings delivered to you. 18 After being made free from sin, you became servants of righteousness. 19 I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. You once presented your members as servants to uncleanness and to sin. Now you present your members as servants to righteousness and sanctification (purification) (holiness). 20 When you were servants of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness. 21 You are now ashamed of the fruit you had at that time. For the results of these things is death. 22 Now you are free from sin and are servants to God. You have your fruit in holiness, and the end everlasting (eternal) life. 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift from God is everlasting life through Jesus Christ our Lord. 1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? 2 God forbid. We died to sin! How could we any longer live in it? 3 Or are you ignorant to the fact that all we who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4 We were buried therefore with him through baptism into death. Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, that we might walk in the newness of life.

God is not unrighteous when he vents his anger is he? I speak in human terms.

Romans 3:5

5 If our unrighteousness defines God’s righteousness more clearly, what shall we say? God is not unrighteous when he vents his anger is he? I speak in human terms. 6 Not at all! For how will God judge the world? 7 But what if my untruth serves God’s glory by making his truth stand out more clearly? Why should I be condemned as a sinner? 8 Why not say, »Let us do evil so that good may come?« Some people have insulted me by accusing me of saying this very thing! They should be condemned and they will be. 9 Are we Jews in any better condition than the people of the nations? Not at all! I have already shown that Jews and the people of the nations are all under the power of sin.

Romans 6:5-11

5 If we have become united with him in the likeness of his death, we shall be in the likeness of his resurrection.

Romans 6:5-5

5 If we have become united with him in the likeness of his death, we shall be in the likeness of his resurrection. 6 We know this that our old self was impaled with him that the body of sin might be destroyed, that we should no longer be in bondage to sin. 7 He who has died is freed from sin.

Romans 6:7

7 He who has died is freed from sin. 8 If we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him.

Romans 6:8

8 If we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him.

Romans 6:8-12

8 If we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him. 9 We know that Christ being raised from the dead died no more; death no longer has dominion over him.

Romans 6:9

9 We know that Christ being raised from the dead died no more; death no longer has dominion over him.

Romans 6:9-12

9 We know that Christ being raised from the dead died no more; death no longer has dominion over him. 10 For the death that he died, he died with reference to sin once. But the life that he lives, he lives to God.

Romans 6:10-12

10 For the death that he died, he died with reference to sin once. But the life that he lives, he lives to God. 11 Consider yourselves to be dead with reference to sin, but alive with reference to God through Christ Jesus.

Romans 6:11-12

11 Consider yourselves to be dead with reference to sin, but alive with reference to God through Christ Jesus.

Romans 6:11

11 Consider yourselves to be dead with reference to sin, but alive with reference to God through Christ Jesus. 12 Let no sin rule in your mortal body, that you should obey the lustful desires.

Romans 6:12

12 Let no sin rule in your mortal body, that you should obey the lustful desires.

Romans 6:12-13

12 Let no sin rule in your mortal body, that you should obey the lustful desires. 13 Also do not present your members to sin as instruments of unrighteousness. Present yourselves to God, as alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness for God.

Romans 6:13-13

13 Also do not present your members to sin as instruments of unrighteousness. Present yourselves to God, as alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness for God. 14 Sin will not have dominion over you. For you are not under law, but under grace. 15 What then? Shall we sin, because we are not under law, but under grace? God forbid! 16 Do you not know that if you present yourselves to anyone as obedient servants you are his (voluntary) servants because you obey him? This could be obedience to sin with death in view or obedience to righteousness with holiness in view?

Romans 6:16-17

16 Do you not know that if you present yourselves to anyone as obedient servants you are his (voluntary) servants because you obey him? This could be obedience to sin with death in view or obedience to righteousness with holiness in view? 17 But thanks to God, that you were the servants of sin yet you became obedient from the heart to the teachings delivered to you.

Romans 6:17-17

17 But thanks to God, that you were the servants of sin yet you became obedient from the heart to the teachings delivered to you. 18 After being made free from sin, you became servants of righteousness. 19 I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. You once presented your members as servants to uncleanness and to sin. Now you present your members as servants to righteousness and sanctification (purification) (holiness).

Romans 6:19-23

19 I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. You once presented your members as servants to uncleanness and to sin. Now you present your members as servants to righteousness and sanctification (purification) (holiness).

Romans 6:19-20

19 I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. You once presented your members as servants to uncleanness and to sin. Now you present your members as servants to righteousness and sanctification (purification) (holiness). 20 When you were servants of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness.

Romans 6:20-20

20 When you were servants of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness. 21 You are now ashamed of the fruit you had at that time. For the results of these things is death.

Romans 6:21

21 You are now ashamed of the fruit you had at that time. For the results of these things is death. 22 Now you are free from sin and are servants to God. You have your fruit in holiness, and the end everlasting (eternal) life.

Romans 6:22-23

22 Now you are free from sin and are servants to God. You have your fruit in holiness, and the end everlasting (eternal) life. 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift from God is everlasting life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 6:23-23

23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift from God is everlasting life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 7:1

1 Do you not know, for I speak to men who know the law, that the law has dominion (jurisdiction) over a man as long as he lives? 2 Law binds the married woman to her husband while he lives. But if the husband dies, she is discharged from the law of the husband.

Romans 7:4

4 Brothers, you also died to the law through the body of Christ; that you should be joined to another, even to him who was raised from the dead, that we might bring forth fruit to God.

Romans 7:4-11

4 Brothers, you also died to the law through the body of Christ; that you should be joined to another, even to him who was raised from the dead, that we might bring forth fruit to God. 5 When we were in the flesh, the sinful passions, which were through the law, worked in our members to bring forth fruit to death.

Romans 7:5-11

5 When we were in the flesh, the sinful passions, which were through the law, worked in our members to bring forth fruit to death. 6 We have been discharged (released) from the law. We have died to that by which we were held. So we serve in newness of the Spirit, and not in oldness of the letter.

Romans 7:6-11

6 We have been discharged (released) from the law. We have died to that by which we were held. So we serve in newness of the Spirit, and not in oldness of the letter. 7 What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid! I had not known sin except through the law. For I had not known coveting except the law had said: You should not covet. 8 But sin, finding occasion, worked out in me through the commandment all manner of coveting. Apart from the law sin is dead. 9 I was alive apart from the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died. 10 The commandment, which was to life, this I found to be to death. 11 For sin, finding occasion, through the commandment deceived me, and through it killed me.

Romans 7:23-24

23 However I see a different law at work in my body. This law fights against the law that my mind approves of. It makes me a prisoner to the law of sin that is at work in my body.

Romans 7:23

23 However I see a different law at work in my body. This law fights against the law that my mind approves of. It makes me a prisoner to the law of sin that is at work in my body. 24 Miserable man that I am! Who will rescue me from the body undergoing this death?

Romans 7:24-24

24 Miserable man that I am! Who will rescue me from the body undergoing this death? 25 Thanks to God, through our Lord Jesus Christ! So then I can serve God’s law only with my mind, while my human nature serves the law of sin.

Romans 7:25

25 Thanks to God, through our Lord Jesus Christ! So then I can serve God’s law only with my mind, while my human nature serves the law of sin.

Romans 8:1

1 Those who live through (in union with) (because of) Jesus Christ have no condemnation. [They do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.] 2 The law of the Spirit gives us life through (with) (because of) Christ Jesus. It has set me free from the law of sin and death. 3 God did what the Law could not do, because human nature was weak. He sent his own son in the likeness of sinful man to be a sin offering and do away with sin. So he condemned sin in sinful human nature.

Romans 8:3

3 God did what the Law could not do, because human nature was weak. He sent his own son in the likeness of sinful man to be a sin offering and do away with sin. So he condemned sin in sinful human nature. 4 God did this so that the righteous requirements of the Law might be fully satisfied in us who live according to the Spirit, and not according to human nature.

Romans 8:6

6 The mind of sinful flesh (fleshly thought) means death; but the mind influenced by the Spirit gives life and peace.

Romans 8:11

11 If the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from among the dead dwells with you, he who raised Christ from among the dead shall also make your mortal bodies alive. This is on account of his Spirit that dwells with you. 12 So then, brothers we are under obligation, not to the flesh, to live according to flesh (human nature), 13 for if you live according to flesh, you are about to die. If by the Spirit, you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

Romans 8:18

18 I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that will be revealed in us.

Romans 8:26

26 Likewise the Spirit also helps our weaknesses. We do not know what we should pray for, as we should. The Spirit [of God] makes intercession with groaning that cannot be spoken.

Romans 11:6

6 If it is by grace then it is no longer on the basis of works. Otherwise grace is not grace (undeserved kindness). But if it is of works then it is not by grace. Otherwise works are no longer works.

Romans 12:1-2

1 I request (urge) (implore) you brothers, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.

Romans 12:1

1 I request (urge) (implore) you brothers, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 Do not be conformed to this world (religious, social, political, and economic arrangement). But be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Prove what is the good, acceptable, and perfect will of God.

Romans 16:26

26 It is now made known by the Scriptures of the prophets according to the commandment of the everlasting God. It is made known to all nations for the obedience of faith. 27 To God, wise alone, be glory through Jesus Christ forever. Amen.

1 Corinthians 1:4

4 I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God that is given you by Jesus Christ.

Romans 3:19-20

19 We know that whatever the law says, it speaks to those under the law. Every mouth may be stopped and the entire world may become liable to God for punishment. 20 No flesh will be justified before God by works of the law. Knowledge of sin comes from the law.

Romans 3:31

31 Do we nullify the law through faith? No we do not! In fact, we establish (continue) (stand by) (uphold) the law.

Romans 4:16

16 For this reason it is by faith that it may be according to grace (divine influence) (loving-kindness). The promise may be sure to all descendants! This is not only to that which is of the law, but to that also which is by the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all.

Romans 5:1

1 We are justified (acquitted) (made righteous) by faith. And we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Romans 5:11

11 We also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation (restoration) (atonement) (divine favor). 12 Therefore, through one-man sin entered into the world, and death through sin. So death passed to all men, for all have sinned.

Romans 5:14

14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam until Moses, even for those who had not sinned after the likeness of Adam’s transgression. Adam is in some ways like Christ who came later.

Romans 5:17

17 It was by the transgression of the one that death ruled as king through that one. Even more so shall those who receive the abundance of grace, and of the gift of righteousness, rule as kings in life by the one, Jesus Christ.

Romans 5:20-21

20 The law came that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased God’s loving kindness increased even more. 21 And what for? Just as sin reigned in death, even so might grace reign through righteousness to everlasting life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 5:21

21 And what for? Just as sin reigned in death, even so might grace reign through righteousness to everlasting life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 6:1-2

1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? 2 God forbid. We died to sin! How could we any longer live in it?

Romans 6:2-2

2 God forbid. We died to sin! How could we any longer live in it? 3 Or are you ignorant to the fact that all we who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?

Romans 6:3-5

3 Or are you ignorant to the fact that all we who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4 We were buried therefore with him through baptism into death. Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, that we might walk in the newness of life.

Romans 13:13-14

13 Let us walk honestly as in the daytime, not in rioting and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and loose conduct, not in strife and jealousy. 14 Put on (live like) (clothe yourself with) the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not make provision for the desires of the flesh.

Romans 13:14

14 Put on (live like) (clothe yourself with) the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not make provision for the desires of the flesh.

Romans 14:7-9

7 For none of us lives to himself, and no man dies to himself. 8 For if we live, we live to God and if we die, we die to God. Therefore should we live or die, we are God’s. 9 To this end Christ both died, and rose, and lived again, that he might be Lord both of the dead and the living.

Romans 15:1

1 We who are strong in the faith ought to help the weak to carry their burdens. We should not just please ourselves.

Romans 15:18

18 I will not dare to speak of any of those things that Christ has not accomplished through me. I will lead the nations to obey God in word and deed.

1 Corinthians 3:16

16 Do you not know that you are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?

1 Corinthians 5:6

6 Your boasting is not good. Do you know that a little leaven ferments the whole batch of dough?

1 Corinthians 6:2-3

2 Do you not know that the holy ones will judge the world? And if you will judge the world, are you unworthy to judge these small matters? 3 Do you not know that we will judge angels? How much more the matters that pertain to this life?

1 Corinthians 6:9

9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither fornicators, nor people who worship idols, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals,

1 Corinthians 6:9-11

9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither fornicators, nor people who worship idols, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals,

1 Corinthians 6:9-10

9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither fornicators, nor people who worship idols, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous (greedy), nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortionists, will inherit the kingdom of God.

1 Corinthians 6:10-10

10 nor thieves, nor covetous (greedy), nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortionists, will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 That is what some of you were. You have been washed clean and now you are sanctified. The Spirit of our God declares you righteous in the name of the Lord Jesus.

1 Corinthians 6:11

11 That is what some of you were. You have been washed clean and now you are sanctified. The Spirit of our God declares you righteous in the name of the Lord Jesus.

1 Corinthians 6:14

14 God has resurrected the Lord, and will also resurrect us by his own power. 15 Do you not know that your bodies are the members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ, and unite them with (turn them into) the members of a prostitute? God forbid!

1 Corinthians 6:15

15 Do you not know that your bodies are the members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ, and unite them with (turn them into) the members of a prostitute? God forbid! 16 What? Do you not know that he who is joined to a prostitute is one (united with her) body? For he said: »Two will be one flesh.«

1 Corinthians 6:19

19 What? Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit? That one (Greek: »hos he ho« which, that one) is in you. You received it from God. You are not your own. 20 You are bought with a price! Therefore glorify God in your body.

1 Corinthians 7:21-22

21 Were you called being a slave? Do not let it worry you. But if you can become free, do so. 22 He who is called in the Lord, being a slave, is the Lord's freeman. Likewise also he who is called, being free, is Christ's slave.

1 Corinthians 7:22

22 He who is called in the Lord, being a slave, is the Lord's freeman. Likewise also he who is called, being free, is Christ's slave.

1 Corinthians 12:13

13 For by one Spirit we are all baptized into one body, whether we are Jews or people of the nations, whether we are bond or free; we were all made to drink of one Spirit.

2 Corinthians 2:14

14 Thanks to God, who always leads us in triumph (triumphal procession) in Christ. He makes known through us the sweet aroma of his knowledge in every place.

2 Corinthians 3:6-9

6 He also made us sufficient as ministers of a new covenant. This is a covenant not of the letter, but of the Spirit: for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life. 7 The ministry of death was written and engraved on stones. Glory came with it so that the children of Israel could not look steadfastly upon the face of Moses. And this glory was passing away. 8 How shall the ministry of the Spirit not be with glory? 9 For if the ministry of condemnation has glory then the ministry of righteousness would exceed in glory.

2 Corinthians 3:17

17 Now God is the Spirit and where the Spirit of God is, there is liberty (freedom).

2 Corinthians 4:10

10 We always carry in the body the death of Jesus, that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our body.

2 Corinthians 4:10-14

10 We always carry in the body the death of Jesus, that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our body. 11 For we who live are always delivered to death for Jesus' sake, that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our mortal flesh.

2 Corinthians 4:11

11 For we who live are always delivered to death for Jesus' sake, that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our mortal flesh. 12 So then death works in us, but life in you. 13 But having the same spirit (attitude) of faith, according to that which is written, I believe, and therefore I speak. We also believe, and therefore we also speak. 14 We know that he who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also with Jesus, and will present us with you.

2 Corinthians 5:4

4 While in this tabernacle we groan and sigh with prayer. We are concerned that we would be clothed with what is mortal and be swallowed up (devoured) by this life.

2 Corinthians 5:14-17

14 For the love of Christ compels us to judge, that one died for all and therefore all died. 15 He died for all that those who live should no longer live for themselves, but for him who died for their sakes and rose again.

2 Corinthians 5:15

15 He died for all that those who live should no longer live for themselves, but for him who died for their sakes and rose again. 16 From now on we know no man according to the flesh: even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know him so no longer. 17 If any man is in Christ, he is a new creature: the old things have passed away. Behold, they have become new.

2 Corinthians 5:17

17 If any man is in Christ, he is a new creature: the old things have passed away. Behold, they have become new.

2 Corinthians 5:21

1 Having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness with deep reverence for God.

2 Corinthians 7:11

11 This very thing that you sorrowed in a godly manner: What diligence it made in you, what clearing of yourselves, what indignation, what fear, what longing, what zeal, yes what vindication! You demonstrated yourself to innocent in the matter.

2 Corinthians 8:5

5 This is not as we hoped. First they gave their own selves to the Lord, and to us by the will of God.

1 Corinthians 9:8

8 I say this from a human point of view. Does the law say the same thing?

1 Corinthians 9:13

13 Do you not know that they who minister about holy things live off the things of the temple? And they who wait at the altar are partakers with the altar?

1 Corinthians 9:20-21

20 To the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews. To those under the Law, as under the Law, that I might gain those under the Law. 21 To those without Law I became like those without Law that I might gain them. I am not without law to God, but under the law to (toward) (of) Christ.

1 Corinthians 9:24

24 Do you not know that they who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? So run that you may obtain the prize.

1 Corinthians 15:29

29 What will they do who are baptized for the dead, if the dead do not rise at all? Why are they then baptized for the dead?

1 Corinthians 15:32-33

32 If I have fought with beasts at Ephesus, what advantage was it to me if the dead do not rise? Let us eat and drink for tomorrow we die. 33 Do not be deceived: Bad company corrupts good morals.

1 Corinthians 15:53-54

53 This corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54 When this corruptible shall be clothed with (Greek: enduo: dressed, put on) incorruption, and this mortal shall be clothed with immortality, then the saying will come true: »Death is swallowed up in victory.«

2 Corinthians 10:4

4 The weapons we use in our fight are not of the flesh but God's powerful weapons, which we use to destroy strongholds. We destroy false arguments. 5 We cast down imaginations, and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God. We bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. 6 We are ready to punish all disobedience, when your obedience is complete.

Galatians 2:17-18

17 We sought to be righteous in Christ. And we were found to be sinners. Is Christ a minister of sin? God forbid. 18 If I build up again the things that I destroyed, I prove myself a transgressor. 19 I, through the law, died to the law that I might live to (for) God.

Galatians 2:19-20

19 I, through the law, died to the law that I might live to (for) God. 20 I have been impaled with Christ. It is no longer I that live, but Christ lives in me. The life that I now live in the flesh (physical body) I live by faith. This is the faith that is in the Son of God. He loved me and gave himself up for me.

Galatians 2:20

20 I have been impaled with Christ. It is no longer I that live, but Christ lives in me. The life that I now live in the flesh (physical body) I live by faith. This is the faith that is in the Son of God. He loved me and gave himself up for me.

Galatians 2:20-20

20 I have been impaled with Christ. It is no longer I that live, but Christ lives in me. The life that I now live in the flesh (physical body) I live by faith. This is the faith that is in the Son of God. He loved me and gave himself up for me. 21 I do not reject the grace (totally undeserved gift) of God: for if righteousness is [gained] through the law, then Christ died for nothing.

Galatians 3:10

10 Those who are of the works of the Law are under a curse. For it is written, »Cursed is everyone who does not abide by all things written in the book of the Law, by obeying them.«

Galatians 4:21

21 Tell me, you that desire to be under the Law; do you not hear the Law?

1 Christ liberated us for freedom (moral liberty). Stand fast therefore, and do not become entangled again in a yoke of bondage.

Galatians 5:13

13 For you brothers, were called for freedom; only do not use your freedom for an occasion to the flesh. Serve one another through love!

Galatians 5:16

16 I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

Galatians 6:14

14 Never should I boast except in the stake (symbolic: self-denial and atonement) of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is through this stake that the world has been impaled to me, and I to the world. 15 For neither is circumcision anything, nor uncircumcision anything, but a new creature is. 16 The Israel of God will have peace and mercy. All who walk by this rule will also.

Ephesians 1:16

16 I continually give thanks for you in my prayers.

Ephesians 1:19-20

19 and what the exceeding greatness of his power is toward us who believe, according to the operation of his mighty strength. 20 He operated in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and made him to sit at his right hand in the heavenly places.

Ephesians 2:2-3

2 You once walked according to the course of this world, according to the ruler of the power (authority and jurisdiction) of the air, the spirit that is now active in the sons of disobedience. 3 We all once lived in the lust of our flesh, indulging the desires (lusts) of the flesh and of the mind. We were by nature children of anger and violent passion, like everyone else.

Ephesians 2:3-3

3 We all once lived in the lust of our flesh, indulging the desires (lusts) of the flesh and of the mind. We were by nature children of anger and violent passion, like everyone else.

Ephesians 2:6-10

Ephesians 2:7-10

7 So in the ages to come he, with Christ Jesus, might show the exceeding (surpassing) (exceptional) riches of his grace with kindness toward us. 8 By grace (Greek: charis, divine favor, loving-kindness) you have been saved through faith. It is not from you. It is the gift from God! 9 It is not the result of works. So no man should boast. 10 For we are his workmanship created with Christ Jesus for good works. God prepared these works in advance that we should walk in them.

Ephesians 4:17

1 Timothy 1:13-16

13 I was a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and a violent aggressor. I was shown mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief. 14 The grace of our Lord abounded exceedingly with faith and love in Christ Jesus. 15 Faithful is the saying, and worthy of acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am foremost. 16 For this I obtained mercy, which in me as the foremost sinner Jesus Christ might show his long-suffering. This is for an example to those who should later believe in him for eternal life.

Hebrews 9:26-28

26 Otherwise he would have to suffer often from the founding of the world. He has presented himself once at the end of the age to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. 27 It is appointed to men once to die, but after this the judgment: 28 So Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. He will appear the second time without sin to those who look to him for their salvation.

James 1:14-15

1 Peter 1:3-4

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy he gave us a new birth to a living hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. 4 You are born to an incorruptible and undefiled inheritance that does not fade away and is reserved in heaven for you.

1 Peter 1:9

9 You receive your salvation as the outcome of your faith.

1 Peter 1:14

14 Live as children of obedience. Do not fashion yourself according to your former lusts, for you were ignorant at that time.

22 You have purified your hearts by obeying the truth. You have genuine affection for the brothers and sisters. So always love one another intensely (extremely) (deeply) from the heart.

16 Be free, and yet do not use your freedom for a covering for evil, but as servants of God.

2 Peter 1:6-9

6 Include self-control with your knowledge. Supply patience to your self-control. Your patience should be helped by godliness. 7 Add brotherly kindness to your godliness. And to your brotherly kindness add love. 8 For if these things are yours and abound in you they will keep you from being inactive or unfruitful regarding the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 For he who lacks these qualities is blind, seeing only what is near, having forgotten the cleansing from his old sins.

2 Peter 2:13-15

13 They suffer wrong as their reward for wrongdoing. They are men that count it pleasure to revel in the daytime. They are spots and blemishes, reveling in their deceptions while they feast with you. 14 They have eyes full of adultery that cannot cease from sin! They entice unsteady persons. Their hearts are full of covetousness. They are children of cursing. 15 They went astray, forsaking the right way. They followed the way of Balaam, the son of Beor, who loved the wages of wrongdoing.

2 Peter 2:18-19

18 For, uttering arrogant words of vanity, they entice in the desires (lusts) of the flesh, by sensuality (lasciviousness), those who are just escaping from the ones who live in error. 19 They promise them freedom, while they are bondservants of corruption. A man is brought into bondage by one and enslaved by another.

James 3:5-6

5 The tongue also is a little member. It boasts great things. Consider how great a forest fire a small fire kindles! 6 The tongue is like fire, the place of iniquity among our members. It defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of our life. It is set ablaze like the ever-burning fires in the Valley of Hinnom (Greek: Gehenna: symbolic of total destruction).

James 4:1-3

1 What causes wars and fighting among you? Is the cause of fighting your sensual lusts for pleasure that battle within you?

James 4:1

1 What causes wars and fighting among you? Is the cause of fighting your sensual lusts for pleasure that battle within you? 2 You lust, and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain! You fight and war. You do not have because you do not ask. 3 You ask and do not receive because you ask wrongly (with bad motives) that you may spend it on your pleasures. 4 Adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity (hatred) (hostility) toward God? Whoever would be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.

1 Peter 2:24

24 He bore our sins in his body upon the stake, that we, having died to sins, might live to righteousness. You were healed because of his wounds (stripes).

1 Peter 4:2-4

2 From now on you must live the rest of your earthly lives controlled by God’s will and not by human desires (lusts). 3 You have spent enough time in the past doing what unbelievers like to do. 1 Peter 4:3-4

3 You have spent enough time in the past doing what unbelievers like to do. Your lives were spent in indecency, lusts, drunkenness, orgies, drinking parties, and the disgusting worship of idols (false gods). 4 They think it strange that you do not run with them in wild and reckless living and they speak evil about you.

1 Peter 4:4-4

4 They think it strange that you do not run with them in wild and reckless living and they speak evil about you. 5 They will give account to him that is ready to judge the living and the dead. 6 The good news was preached for this purpose even to the dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but may live according to God in the spirit.

1 Peter 4:11

11 If any man speaks, speak as it were utterances of God. If any man ministers, minister with the strength which God supplies! May God be glorified in all things through Jesus Christ. The glory and dominion belong to God forever and ever. Amen.

1 John 2:6

6 He that says he lives in union with him should walk as he walked.

1 John 2:15-17

15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If any one loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 The entire world, the desire of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of material wealth, is not from the Father, but is from the world. 17 The world and its desires (lusts) are passing away; but he who does the will of God lives forever.

1 John 2:25

25 This is the promise he promised us, life eternal.
