⁵ Thanks to your stubborn and unrepentant heart, you store up wrath for yourself, in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God.

¹⁵ The king saw that the frogs were dead. He became stubborn again and, just as Jehovah had said, the king would not listen to Moses and Aaron.

¹⁷ »I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians so that they will go in after them. I will be honored through Pharaoh and all his army, through his chariots and his horsemen.

¹³ Zedekiah also rebelled against King Nebuchadnezzar. Nebuchadnezzar made Zedekiah swear an oath of allegiance to him in God’s name. But Zedekiah became so stubborn and so impossible to deal with that he refused to turn back to Jehovah the God of Israel.

³⁰ »They say the wicked are spared in the day of calamity, and are rescued in the day of wrath?

⁸ Do not harden your hearts, as in the day of strife, as in the day of testing in the wilderness.

⁵ Jehovah is at your right hand. He will crush kings in the day of his anger.

¹ He who is often reprimanded and hardens his neck will suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.

⁴ »I knew that you would prove to be stubborn. You were as rigid as iron and unyielding as copper.

⁷ »But the people of Israel will refuse to listen to you because they refuse to listen to me. All the people of Israel are very stubborn and hardheaded.

²⁰ »But when his heart was lifted up, and his spirit was hardened with pride he dealt proudly. He was deposed from his kingly throne and they took his glory from him:

¹⁰ »Those who store up violence and robbery in their dwellings do not know how to do what is right,« declared Jehovah.

¹⁸ The wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness.

² We are sure that the judgment of God, according to truth, is against those who commit such things. ³ What do you reason O man? When you judge these things, and you also do them, do you think that you will escape the judgment of God?

²² If God decided to show his wrath and make his power known, endured with much long-suffering vessels of wrath fit for destruction.

²⁵ I do not want you to be ignorant of this secret, lest you should be wise in your own conceits (estimation). Blindness has happened to Israel, until the fullness of the nations comes in.

¹³ Encourage yourselves each day, as long as it is called »Today,« that none of you be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.

¹⁵ Scripture says: »Today if you will hear his voice, do not harden your hearts. Do not be stubborn like those who rebelled.«

⁷ He determines a certain day by saying through David: »Today,« after so long a time; just as it was said before, »Today, if you will listen to his voice, do not harden your hearts.« (Psalm 95:7)

³ Your gold and your silver are rusted. Their corrosion will be for a testimony against you, and will eat your flesh like fire. You stored up your treasure in the last days.

⁹ Jehovah knows how to deliver the godly out of temptation, and to preserve the unrighteous for the Day of Judgment. (Psalm 34:19) (Matthew 25:46)

⁷ According to the same word, the heavens that now are, and the earth, are reserved for fire, being kept for the Day of Judgment and destruction of ungodly men.

¹⁷ »For the great day of his wrath has come; and who will be able to stand?«

⁶ Angels who did not keep their position left their proper habitation. He has kept them in everlasting bonds under darkness for the judgment of the great day.
