⁷ »Be strong and very courageous, that you may be careful to do according to all the Law, which Moses my servant commanded you. Do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go.

²³ Moses put his hands on Joshua’s head and proclaimed him as his successor, just as Jehovah proclaimed.

³² »Be careful to do what I command you. Do not add to it nor take away from it.

³² Be careful to do what Jehovah your God has commanded you. Never turn to the right or to the left.

¹⁴ and do not turn aside from any of the words I command you today, to the right or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.

⁹ »Keep the words of this covenant to do them that you may prosper in all that you do.

⁷ Then Moses called Joshua and said to him in the presence of all the people of Israel: »Be determined and with good courage. You are the one who will lead these people to occupy the land Jehovah promised to their ancestors.

¹ Moses the servant of Jehovah (YHWH) died. After his death Jehovah spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ minister, saying:

⁸ »This Book of the Law will not depart out of your mouth. You must meditate (intensely study) (think deeply) on it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. Then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

¹⁵ Jehovah commanded Moses his servant and so Moses commands Joshua and Joshua complied. He left nothing undone of all that Jehovah commanded Moses.

³ »Do what Jehovah your God orders you to do. Obey all his laws and commands, as written in the Law of Moses. That way wherever you go you may prosper in everything you do.

¹³ »You will have success if you are careful to observe the decrees and laws that Jehovah gave Moses for Israel. Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged.

²⁷ Do not turn to the right or to the left. Remove your foot from evil.
