Daniel 7:1 Cross References - NSB

¹ Daniel had a dream and visions. He wrote the summery of the dream that came to his mind while he was in bed. It was the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon.

¹ The word of Jehovah came to Abram in a vision: »Do not be afraid, Abram; I am your shield. Your reward shall be very great.«

² That night, God spoke to him and said: »Jacob! Jacob!« »Here I am,« Jacob answered.

⁶ He said: »Listen to my words: ‘When there are prophets of Jehovah among you, I make myself known to them in visions or speak to them in dreams.

¹³ »I am with disturbing thoughts from visions in the night, when deep sleep falls on people.

¹⁴ »God does speak, now one-way and then another, though man may not perceive it. ¹⁵ »In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls on men as they slumber in their beds, ¹⁶ he may speak in their ears and terrify them with warnings,

¹ Jehovah said to me: »Take a large writing tablet, and write on it with a pen: Maher Shalal Hash Baz (The Looting Will Come Quickly; the Prey Will Be Easy).

⁸ Write this on a tablet for them, and inscribe it in a book so that it will be there in the future as a permanent witness.

²⁸ »The prophet who has had a dream should say it is only a dream. The prophet who has heard my message should proclaim that message faithfully.« »What good is chaff compared with wheat?« Says Jehovah.

⁷ »All nations will serve him, his son, and his grandson until Babylon is defeated. Then many nations and great kings will make him their slave.

⁴ Then Jeremiah called Baruch, son of Neriah. Jeremiah dictated everything that Jehovah told him. Baruch wrote it all down on a scroll.

¹ I was living among the exiles by the Chebar River. On the fifth day of the fourth month in the thirtieth year the [figurative] heaven opened and I saw visions from God.

¹⁷ God gave these young people knowledge, understanding, and wisdom of all types of literature and learning. Daniel had understanding and wisdom in all visions and dreams.

¹ It was the second year of his reign. He was troubled and could not sleep. Nebuchadnezzar had dreams and was disturbed by them.

²⁸ »There is a God in heaven that reveals secrets. He made known to king Nebuchadnezzar what will be in days to come. Your dream and visions are these: ²⁹ »As for you, O king, your thoughts while you were in bed were about what will happen in the future. He who reveals secrets revealed the future to you.

⁵ »I saw a dream that made me afraid. When I saw this vision my thoughts troubled me.

¹ King Belshazzar held a great feast for a thousand of his lords, and drank wine with them.

²² »You his son, O Belshazzar, have not humbled your heart, though you know all this.

³⁰ In that night Belshazzar the Chaldean King was slain.

⁷ »After this I saw more visions in the night. I saw a FOURTH BEAST terrible and powerful, and exceedingly strong! It had great iron teeth. It devoured and broke in pieces, and stamped the residue with its feet. It was different from the beasts that came before it. It had ten horns!

¹³ »I saw in the night-visions someone like a SON OF MAN came with the clouds of heaven. He came to the Ancient of Days. They brought him near before him.

¹⁵ »I, Daniel, was grieved to the center of my being, and the visions in my head troubled me.

¹ A vision appeared to me, Daniel, in the third year of the reign of king Belshazzar. It appeared after the first vision.

²⁸ »In the last days I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh. Your sons and your daughters will prophesy. Your old men will dream dreams. Your young men will see visions! (Ac 2:17; Isa 44:3)

⁷ »The Lord Jehovah will do nothing without revealing his secrets to his servants the prophets.

² Jehovah answered me: »Write the vision. Record it on tablets that he who reads it may run.

¹⁷ »It will come to pass in the last days, says God, I will pour out from my Spirit upon all flesh. (Greek: apo, from) Your sons and your daughters will prophesy (proclaim God’s Word). Your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams. ¹⁸ »And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out (a portion from) (some of) my Spirit in those days and they will prophesy: (Joel 2:28)

⁴ The things written in earlier times were written for our instruction, that we through endurance and the encouragement from the Scriptures might have hope.

¹ I must brag, although it does not do any good. I will go on to visions and revelations from the Lord.

¹⁹ »Write the things that you have seen and the things that are and the things that will be.

⁴ When the seven thunders spoke, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven say to me: »Seal up those things that the seven thunders spoke. Do not write them.«
