⁵ God will likewise destroy you forever. He will take you up, and pluck you out of your tent, and root you out of the land of the living. Selah.

¹⁴ He shall be rooted out of his tent where he trusts. He shall be brought to the king of terrors.

⁶ Though his height mount up to the heavens, and his head reach to the clouds, ⁷ yet he shall perish forever like his own dung. Those who have seen him shall say, 'Where is he?'

¹⁴ Look, he travails with iniquity. Yes, he has conceived mischief, and brought forth falsehood. ¹⁵ He has dug a hole, and has fallen into the pit which he made. ¹⁶ The trouble he causes shall return to his own head, and his violence shall come down on the crown of his own head.

¹³ I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.

³⁵ I have seen the wicked wielding great power, and towering like a cedar of Lebanon. ³⁶ And I passed by, and look, he was not. And I looked for him, but he could not be found.

²³ But you, God, will bring them down into the pit of destruction. Bloodthirsty and deceitful men shall not live out half their days, but I will trust in you.

⁷ But God will shoot at them. They will be suddenly struck down with an arrow. ⁸ Their own tongues shall ruin them. All who see them will shake their heads. ⁹ All humankind shall be afraid. They shall declare the work of God, and shall wisely ponder what he has done. ¹⁰ The righteous shall be glad in the LORD, and shall take refuge in him. All the upright in heart shall praise him.

⁹ I will walk before the LORD in the land of the living.

² Deliver my soul, LORD, from lying lips, from a deceitful tongue. ³ What will be given to you, and what will be done more to you, you deceitful tongue? ⁴ Sharp arrows of the mighty, with coals of juniper.

⁹ As for the head of those who surround me, let the mischief of their own lips cover them. ¹⁰ Let burning coals fall on them. Let them be thrown into the fire, into miry pits, from where they never rise. ¹¹ An evil speaker won't be established in the earth. Evil will hunt the violent man to overthrow him.

²² But the wicked will be cut off from the land. The treacherous will be uprooted out of it.

¹⁹ Truth's lips will be established forever, but a lying tongue is only momentary.

⁵ A false witness shall not be unpunished. He who pours out lies shall not go free.

⁹ A false witness shall not be unpunished. He who utters lies shall perish.

¹⁹ I will thrust you from your office. You will be pulled down from your station.

¹¹ I said, "I won't see the LORD in the land of the living. I will not look on humankind any longer with the inhabitants of the world.

²⁷ "He said, 'I ask you therefore, father, that you would send him to my father's house; ²⁸ for I have five brothers, that he may testify to them, so they won't also come into this place of torment.'

⁸ But to the cowards, and unbelieving, and detestable, and murderers, and sexually immoral, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death."
