⁷ The wicked are overthrown, and are no more, but the house of the righteous shall stand.

¹⁶ And your house and your kingdom shall be made sure forever before me, and your throne shall be established forever."'"

²⁶ Let your name be magnified forever, saying, 'The LORD of hosts is the God of Israel,' and the house of your servant David shall be established before you.

⁶ In the citadel of Shushan, the Jews killed and destroyed five hundred men. ⁷ They killed Parshandatha, Dalphon, Aspatha, ⁸ Poratha, Adalia, Aridatha, ⁹ Parmashta, Arisai, Aridai, and Vaizatha, ¹⁰ the ten sons of Haman the son of Hammedatha, the Jew's enemy, but they did not lay their hand on the plunder.

¹⁴ The king commanded this to be done. A decree was given out in Shushan; and they hanged Haman's ten sons.

³ I have seen the foolish taking root, but suddenly I cursed his habitation. ⁴ His children are far from safety. They are crushed in the gate. Neither is there any to deliver them,

²⁰ But the eyes of the wicked shall fail. They shall have no way to flee. Their hope shall be the giving up of the spirit."

¹⁵ There shall dwell in his tent that which is none of his. Sulfur shall be scattered on his habitation. ¹⁶ His roots shall be dried up beneath. Above shall his branch be cut off. ¹⁷ His memory shall perish from the earth. He shall have no name in the street. ¹⁸ He shall be driven from light into darkness, and chased out of the world. ¹⁹ He shall have neither son nor grandson among his people, nor any remaining where he sojourned. ²⁰ Those who come after shall be astonished at his day, as those who went before were frightened.

¹⁸ He builds his house as the moth, as a booth which the watchman makes. ¹⁹ He lies down rich, but he shall not do so again. He opens his eyes, and it is gone. ²⁰ Terrors overtake him like waters. A storm steals him away in the night. ²¹ The east wind carries him away, and he departs. It sweeps him out of his place. ²² For it hurls at him, and does not spare, as he flees away from his hand. ²³ Men shall clap their hands at him, and shall hiss him out of his place.

²⁵ Therefore he takes knowledge of their works. He overturns them in the night, so that they are destroyed.

¹⁰ For yet a little while, and the wicked will be no more. Yes, though you look for his place, he isn't there.

³⁵ I have seen the wicked wielding great power, and towering like a cedar of Lebanon. ³⁶ And I passed by, and look, he was not. And I looked for him, but he could not be found. ³⁷ Observe the blameless, and see the upright, for there is a future for the man of peace.

¹⁸ Surely you set them in slippery places. You throw them down to destruction. ¹⁹ How they are suddenly destroyed. They are completely swept away with terrors.

²⁵ When the whirlwind passes, the wicked is no more; but the righteous stand firm forever.

²¹ Most certainly, the evil man will not be unpunished, but the descendants of the righteous will be delivered.

¹ Every wise woman builds her house, but the foolish one tears it down with her own hands.

¹¹ The house of the wicked will be destroyed, but the tent of the upright will flourish.

²⁵ The LORD will uproot the house of the proud, but he will keep the widow's borders intact.

³ Through wisdom a house is built; by understanding it is established; ⁴ by knowledge the rooms are filled with all rare and beautiful treasure.

²⁴ "Everyone therefore who hears these words of mine, and does them, will be compared to a wise man, who built his house on a rock. ²⁵ And the rain came down, the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. ²⁶ And everyone who hears these words of mine, and does not do them will be like a foolish man, who built his house on the sand. ²⁷ And the rain came down, the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat on that house; and it fell—and great was its fall."
