¹ Remember, LORD, what has come on us. Look, and see our disgrace.

³ They said to me, "The remnant who are left of the captivity there in the province are in great trouble and disgrace. The wall of Jerusalem also is broken down, and its gates are burned with fire."

⁸ "Remember, I beg you, the word that you commanded your servant Moses, saying, 'If you are unfaithful, I will scatter you abroad among the peoples;

⁴ "Hear, our God; for we are despised; and turn back their insults on their own head, give them up for a spoil in a land of captivity;

⁷ Oh remember that my life is a breath. My eye shall no more see good.

⁹ Remember, I beg you, that you have fashioned me as clay. Will you bring me into dust again?

¹³ You make us the taunt of our neighbors, a scoffing and a derision to those who are around us. ¹⁴ You make us a byword among the nations, a shaking of the head among the peoples. ¹⁵ All day long my dishonor is before me, and shame covers my face, ¹⁶ At the taunt of one who reproaches and verbally abuses, because of the enemy and the avenger.

¹⁰ How long, God, shall the enemy mock? Shall the enemy blaspheme your name forever? ¹¹ Why do you draw back your hand, even your right hand? Take it out of your pocket and consume them.

⁴ We have become objects of contempt to our neighbors, mocked and ridiculed by those who are around us.

¹² Pay back to our neighbors seven times into their lap the insults with which they have insulted you, Lord.

⁵⁰ Remember, Lord, the ridicule of all the many peoples against your servants I have borne in my heart, ⁵¹ how your enemies have ridiculed, LORD, how they have ridiculed the footsteps of your anointed one.

³ Have mercy on us, LORD, have mercy on us, for we have endured much contempt. ⁴ Our soul is exceedingly filled with the scoffing of those who are at ease, with the contempt of the proud.

¹⁵ "LORD, you know; remember me, and visit me, and avenge me of my persecutors; do not take me away in your longsuffering: know that for your sake I have suffered reproach.

²⁰ See, LORD, for I am in distress; my stomach churns; my heart is turned within me; for I have grievously rebelled. Outside the sword bereaves, in the house it is like death.

¹⁵ All that pass by clap their hands at you, they hiss and wag their head at the daughter of Jerusalem, saying, "Is this the city that men called 'The perfection of beauty,' 'The joy of the whole earth'?"

²⁰ Look, LORD, and see to whom you have done like this. Shall the women eat their fruit, the children that are dandled in the hands? Shall the priest and the prophet be killed in the sanctuary of the LORD?

¹⁹ Remember my affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the gall.

⁶¹ You have heard their insults, LORD, and all their plots against me.

² LORD, I have heard of your fame. I stand in awe of your deeds, LORD. Renew your work in the midst of the years. In the midst of the years make it known. In wrath, you remember mercy.

⁴² And he said, "Jesus, remember me when you come into your Kingdom."
