³ For consider him who has endured such hostility from sinners against himself, so that you may not become tired and give up.

³ and shall tell them, "Hear, Israel, you draw near this day to battle against your enemies: do not let your heart faint; do not be afraid, nor tremble, neither be scared of them;

²⁴ Only fear the LORD, and serve him in truth with all your heart; for consider what great things he has done for you.

¹⁰ If you falter in the time of trouble, your strength is small.

³⁰ Even the youths faint and get weary, and the young men utterly fall; ³¹ But those who wait for the LORD will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint.

⁴ The LORD has given me the tongue of those who are taught, that I may know how to sustain with a word him who is weary: he wakens morning by morning, he wakens my ear to hear as those who are taught.

²⁴ "A disciple is not above the teacher, nor a servant above his lord. ²⁵ It is enough for the disciple that he be like his teacher, and the servant like his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebul, how much more those of his household.

¹⁹ The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, 'Look, a gluttonous man and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.' But wisdom is justified by her children."

²⁴ But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, "This man does not cast out demons, except by Beelzebul, the prince of the demons."

² "Why do your disciples disobey the Tradition of the Elders? For they do not wash their hands when they eat bread."

¹⁵ But when the chief priests and the scribes saw the wonderful things that he did, and the children crying out in the temple and saying, "Hosanna to the son of David." they were indignant, ¹⁶ and said to him, "Do you hear what these are saying?" Jesus said to them, "Yes. Did you never read, 'Out of the mouth of children and infants you have prepared praise?'"

²³ When he had come into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came to him as he was teaching, and said, "By what authority do you do these things? Who gave you this authority?"

⁴⁶ When they sought to seize him, they feared the crowds, because they considered him to be a prophet.

¹⁵ Then the Pharisees went and took counsel how they might entrap him in his talk.

³⁴ and Simeon blessed them, and said to Mary, his mother, "Look, this child is set for the falling and the rising of many in Israel, and for a sign which is spoken against.

²⁸ They were all filled with wrath in the synagogue, as they heard these things. ²⁹ They rose up, threw him out of the city, and led him to the brow of the hill that their city was built on, that they might throw him off the cliff.

²¹ The scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, "Who is this that speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone?"

¹⁵ But some of them said, "He casts out demons by Beelzebul, the prince of the demons." ¹⁶ Others, testing him, sought from him a sign from heaven.

⁵³ And when he left there, the scribes and the Pharisees began to oppose him bitterly, and to provoke him to speak about many things; ⁵⁴ lying in wait for him, seeking to catch him in something he might say, that they might accuse him.

¹³ He laid his hands on her, and immediately she stood up straight, and glorified God. ¹⁴ The ruler of the synagogue, being indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, said to the crowd, "There are six days when work should be done Therefore come on those days and be healed, and not on the Sabbath day."

¹ And it happened, when he went into the house of one of the rulers of the Pharisees on a Sabbath to eat bread, that they were watching him.

² The Pharisees and the scribes murmured, saying, "This man welcomes sinners, and eats with them."

¹⁴ The Pharisees, who were lovers of money, also heard all these things, and they scoffed at him.

³⁹ Some of the Pharisees from the crowd said to him, "Teacher, rebuke your disciples." ⁴⁰ He answered them, "I tell you that if these were silent, the stones would cry out."

¹⁶ For this cause the Jewish leaders persecuted Jesus, because he did these things on the Sabbath.

¹² There was much murmuring among the crowds concerning him. Some said, "He is a good man." But others said, "Not so, but he leads the crowd astray."

¹³ The Pharisees therefore said to him, "You testify about yourself. Your testimony is not valid."

⁴⁸ Then the Judeans answered him, "Do not we say well that you are a Samaritan, and have a demon?" ⁴⁹ Jesus answered, "I do not have a demon, but I honor my Father, and you dishonor me.

⁵² Then the Judeans said to him, "Now we know that you have a demon. Abraham died, and the prophets; and you say, 'If anyone keeps my word, he will never taste of death.'

⁵⁹ Therefore they took up stones to throw at him, but Jesus was concealed, and went out of the temple.

⁴⁰ Those of the Pharisees who were with him heard these things, and said to him, "Are we also blind?"

²⁰ Many of them said, "He has a demon, and is insane. Why do you listen to him?"

³¹ Therefore the Jewish leaders took up stones again to stone him. ³² Jesus answered them, "I have shown you many good works from the Father. For which of those works do you stone me?" ³³ The Jewish leaders answered him, "We do not stone you for a good work, but for blasphemy: because you, being a man, make yourself God." ³⁴ Jesus answered them, "Is it not written in your law, 'I said, you are gods?' ³⁵ If he called them gods, to whom the word of God came (and the Scripture cannot be broken), ³⁶ do you say of him whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, 'You blaspheme,' because I said, 'I am the Son of God?' ³⁷ If I do not do the works of my Father, do not believe me. ³⁸ But if I do them, though you do not believe me, believe the works; that you may know and understand that the Father is in me, and I in the Father." ³⁹ Now they sought again to seize him, and he went out of their hand.

⁹ A large crowd therefore of the Judeans learned that he was there, and they came, not for Jesus' sake only, but that they might see Lazarus also, whom he had raised from the dead. ¹⁰ But the chief priests plotted to kill Lazarus also,

¹⁸ If the world hates you, you know that it has hated me before it hated you. ¹⁹ If you were of the world, the world would love its own. But because you are not of the world, since I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. ²⁰ Remember the word that I said to you: 'A servant is not greater than his master.' If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will keep yours also. ²¹ But all these things will they do to you because of my name, because they do not know him who sent me. ²² If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have had sin; but now they have no excuse for their sin. ²³ He who hates me hates my Father also. ²⁴ If I had not done among them the works which no one else did, they would not have had sin. But now have they seen and also hated both me and my Father.

²² When he had said this, one of the officers standing by slapped Jesus with his hand, saying, "Do you answer the high priest like that?"

⁵⁸ Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the Lord's work, because you know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

¹ Therefore seeing we have this ministry, even as we obtained mercy, we do not faint.

¹⁶ Therefore we do not become discouraged, but even though our outer nature is wearing away, yet our inner nature is being renewed day by day.

⁹ Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we do not give up.

¹³ But you, brothers, do not be weary in doing well.

⁷ Consider what I say, for the Lord will give you understanding in all things. ⁸ Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, a descendant of David, according to my Good News,

¹ Therefore, holy brothers, partakers of a heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, Jesus;

² looking to Jesus, the founder and completer of the faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, disregarding its shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

⁵ and you have forgotten the exhortation which reasons with you as with children, "My son, do not take lightly the discipline of the Lord, nor lose heart when you are corrected by him.

³ You have perseverance and have endured for my name's sake, and have not grown weary.
