2 Peter Cross References - NHEB

1 Simeon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, to those who have obtained a like precious faith with us in the righteousness of our God and Savior, Jesus Christ: 2 Grace to you and peace be multiplied in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, 3 seeing that his divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and virtue; 4 by which he has granted to us his precious and exceedingly great promises; that through these you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world by lust. 5 Yes, and for this very cause adding on your part all diligence, in your faith supply moral excellence; and in moral excellence, knowledge; 6 and in knowledge, self-control; and in self-control patience; and in patience godliness; 7 and in godliness brotherly affection; and in brotherly affection, love. 8 For if these things are yours and abound, they make you to be not idle nor unfruitful to the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 For he who lacks these things is blind, seeing only what is near, having forgotten the cleansing from his old sins. 10 Therefore, brothers, be more diligent to make your calling and election sure. For if you do these things, you will never stumble. 11 For thus you will be richly supplied with the entrance into the everlasting Kingdom of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. 12 Therefore I will be ready always to remind you of these things, though you know them, and are established in the present truth. 13 I think it right, as long as I am in this tent, to stir you up by reminding you; 14 knowing that the putting off of my tent comes swiftly, even as our Lord Jesus Christ made clear to me. 15 Yes, I will make every effort that you may always be able to remember these things even after my departure. 16 For we did not follow cunningly devised tales, when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty. 17 For he received from God the Father honor and glory, when the voice came to him from the Majestic Glory, "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." 18 We heard this voice come out of heaven when we were with him on the holy mountain. 19 We have the more sure word of prophecy; and you do well that you heed it, as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns, and the morning star arises in your hearts: 20 knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of private interpretation. 21 For no prophecy ever came by human will, but people spoke from God, being moved by the Holy Spirit.

2 for kings and all who are in high places; that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence.

1 Timothy 2:10

10 but (which becomes women professing godliness) with good works.

1 Timothy 3:16

16 Without controversy, the mystery of godliness is great: He was revealed in the flesh, justified by the Spirit, seen by angels, preached among the nations, believed on in the world, and received up in glory.

1 Timothy 4:7-8

7 But have nothing to do with irreverent and silly myths. And train yourself for godliness. 8 For bodily exercise has some value, but godliness has value in all things, having the promise of the life which is now, and of that which is to come.

1 Timothy 6:3

3 If anyone teaches a different doctrine, and does not consent to sound words, the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness,

1 Timothy 6:6

6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.

1 Timothy 6:11

11 But you, man of God, flee these things, and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, and gentleness.

2 Timothy 3:5

5 holding a form of godliness, but having denied the power thereof. Turn away from these, also.

Titus 1:8

8 but given to hospitality, as a lover of good, sober minded, fair, holy, self-controlled;

Titus 2:2

2 that older men should be sober-minded, worthy of respect, self-controlled, sound in faith, in love, and in patience:

12 that you won't be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherited the promises.

15 Thus, having patiently endured, he obtained the promise.

Hebrews 10:36

36 For you need patient endurance so that, having done the will of God, you may receive the promise.

Hebrews 12:1

1 Therefore let us also, seeing we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

James 1:3-4

3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. 4 Let endurance have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

James 5:7-10

7 Be patient therefore, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. Look, the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient over it, until it receives the early and late rain. 8 You also be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is near. 9 Do not grumble, brothers, against one another, so that you won't be judged. Look, the judge stands at the door. 10 Take, brothers, for an example of suffering and of patience, the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord.

2 Peter 3:11

11 Therefore since all these things will be destroyed like this, what kind of people ought you to be in holy living and godliness,

Revelation 1:9

9 I John, your brother and fellow-partner with you in persecution, Kingdom, and patient endurance in Jesus, was on the island that is called Patmos because of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus.

2 "I know your works, and your toil and perseverance, and that you cannot tolerate those who are evil, and have tested those who call themselves apostles, and they are not, and found them false.

Revelation 13:10

10 If anyone is to go into captivity, he will go into captivity. If anyone is to be killed with the sword, he must be killed with the sword. Here is the endurance and the faith of the saints.

12 Here is the patience of the saints, those who keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus."

John 13:34-35

34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also must love one another. 35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another."

Romans 12:10

10 In love of the brothers be tenderly affectionate one to another; outdo one another in showing honor;

1 Corinthians 13:1-8

1 If I speak with the tongues of humans and of angels, but do not have love, I have become sounding bronze, or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I dole out all my goods to feed the poor, and if I surrender my body so that I may boast, but do not have love, it profits me nothing. 4 Love is patient and is kind; love does not envy. Love does not brag, is not proud, 5 does not behave itself inappropriately, does not seek its own way, is not irritable, does not keep a record of wrongs; 6 does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will be done away with. Where there are tongues, they will cease. Where there is knowledge, it will be done away with.

Galatians 6:10

10 So then, as we have opportunity, let us do what is good toward all people, and especially toward those who are of the household of the faith.

Colossians 3:14

14 Above all these things, walk in love, which is the bond of perfection.

1 Thessalonians 3:12

12 and the Lord make you to increase and abound in love for one another and for all, even as we also do toward you,

1 Thessalonians 4:9-10

9 But concerning brotherly love, you have no need that one write to you. For you yourselves are taught by God to love one another, 10 for indeed you do it toward all the brothers who are in all Macedonia. But we exhort you, brothers, that you abound more and more;

1 Thessalonians 5:15

15 See that no one returns evil for evil to anyone, but always seek what is good both for each other and for all.

Hebrews 13:1

1 Let brotherly love continue.

1 Peter 1:22

22 Seeing you have purified your souls in your obedience to the truth in sincere brotherly affection, love one another from a pure heart fervently:

1 Peter 2:17

17 Honor all people. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.

1 Peter 3:8

8 Finally, be all like-minded, compassionate, loving as brothers, tenderhearted, humble,

1 John 3:14

14 We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brothers. He who does not love remains in death.

1 John 3:16

16 By this we know love, because he laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.

1 John 4:21

21 This commandment we have from him, that he who loves God should also love his brother.

Proverbs 19:15

15 Slothfulness casts into a deep sleep. The idle soul shall suffer hunger.

22 And what was sown among the thorns, this is he who hears the word, but the cares of the world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful.

42 But I know you, that you do not have God's love in yourselves.

John 15:2

2 Every branch in me that does not bear fruit, he takes away. Every branch that bears fruit, he prunes, that it may bear more fruit.

John 15:6-8

6 If anyone does not remain in me, he is thrown out as a branch, and withers; and they gather them, throw them into the fire, and they are burned. 7 If you remain in me, and my words remain in you, ask whatever you desire, and it will be done for you. 8 "In this is my Father glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples.

Romans 12:11

11 not lagging in diligence; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;

1 Corinthians 15:58

58 Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the Lord's work, because you know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

2 Corinthians 5:13-17

13 For if we are out of control, it is for God. If we are in a reasonable way, it is for you. 14 For the love of Christ constrains us; because we judge thus, that one died for all, therefore all died. 15 He died for all, that those who live should no longer live to themselves, but to him who for their sakes died and rose again. 16 Therefore we know no one after the flesh from now on. Even though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now we no longer know him in this way. 17 Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Look, new things have come.

2 Corinthians 8:2

2 how that in much proof of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded to the riches of their liberality.

2 Corinthians 8:7

7 But as you abound in everything, in faith, utterance, knowledge, all earnestness, and in the love from us that is in you, see that you also abound in this grace.

2 Corinthians 9:14

14 while they themselves also, with petition on your behalf, yearn for you by reason of the exceeding grace of God in you.

2 Corinthians 13:5

5 Test your own selves, whether you are in the faith. Test your own selves. Or do you not know as to your own selves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you are disqualified.

Philippians 2:5

5 Have this in your mind, which was also in Christ Jesus,

Colossians 2:7

7 rooted and built up in him, and established in the faith, even as you were taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.

Colossians 3:16

16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; in all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your heart to God.

1 Thessalonians 4:1

1 Finally then, brothers, we ask and urge you in the Lord Jesus, that as you received from us how you ought to live and to please God, even as you are living, that you excel more and more.

2 Thessalonians 1:3

3 We are bound to always give thanks to God for you, brothers, even as it is appropriate, because your faith grows exceedingly, and the love of each and every one of you towards one another abounds;

13 Besides, they also learn to be idle, going about from house to house. Not only idle, but also gossips and busybodies, saying things which they ought not.

Titus 3:14

14 Let our people also learn to maintain good works for necessary uses, that they may not be unfruitful.

Philemon 1:6

6 that the fellowship of your faith may become effective, in the knowledge of every good thing which is in you in Christ.

Mark 10:21

21 Jesus looking at him loved him, and said to him, "One thing you lack. Go, sell whatever you have, and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me, taking up the cross."

Luke 18:22

22 When Jesus heard it, he said to him, "You still lack one thing. Sell all that you have, and distribute it to the poor. You will have treasure in heaven. Come, follow me."

John 9:40-41

40 Those of the Pharisees who were with him heard these things, and said to him, "Are we also blind?" 41 Jesus said to them, "If you were blind, you would have no sin; but since you say, 'We see,' your sin remains.

Romans 6:1-4

1 What should we say then? Should we continue in sin, that grace may abound? 2 Absolutely not. We who died to sin, how could we live in it any longer? 3 Or do you not know that all we who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4 We were buried therefore with him through baptism to death, that just like Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we also might walk in newness of life.

Romans 6:11

11 In the same way, consider yourselves dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus.

2 Corinthians 4:3-4

3 Even if our Good News is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing; 4 in whom the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, so they would not see the light of the glorious Good News of Christ, who is the image of God.

26 that he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the washing of water with the word,

Titus 2:14

14 who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify for himself a people for his own possession, zealous for good works.

Hebrews 9:14

14 how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, cleanse our conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

James 2:14-26

14 What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith, but has no works? Can faith save him? 15 And if a brother or sister is poorly clothed and may be lacking in daily food, 16 and one of you tells them, "Go in peace, be warmed and filled;" and yet you did not give them the things the body needs, what good is it? 17 Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead in itself. 18 But someone will say, "You have faith, and I have works." Show me your faith without works, and I by my works will show you my faith. 19 You believe that God is one. You do well. The demons also believe, and shudder. 20 But do you want to know, foolish person, that faith apart from works is useless? 21 Wasn't Abraham our father justified by works, in that he offered up Isaac his son on the altar? 22 You see that faith worked with his works, and by works faith was perfected; 23 and the Scripture was fulfilled which says, "And Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness;" and he was called the friend of God. 24 You see that a person is justified by works and not by faith alone. 25 In like manner was not Rahab the prostitute also justified by works, in that she received the messengers, and sent them out another way? 26 For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, even so faith apart from works is dead.

1 Peter 3:21

21 This is a symbol of baptism, which now saves you—not the removal of dirt from the body, but an appeal to God for a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

2 Peter 1:4-7

4 by which he has granted to us his precious and exceedingly great promises; that through these you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world by lust.

1 John 1:7

7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.

1 John 2:9-11

9 He who says he is in the light and hates his brother, is in the darkness even until now. 10 He who loves his brother remains in the light, and there is no occasion for stumbling in him. 11 But he who hates his brother is in the darkness, and walks in the darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes.

Luke 6:47-49

47 Everyone who comes to me, and hears my words, and does them, I will show you who he is like. 48 He is like someone building a house, who dug and went deep, and laid a foundation on the rock. When a flood arose, the stream broke against that house, and could not shake it, because it had been well built. 49 But he who hears, and does not do, is like someone who built a house on the earth without a foundation, against which the stream broke, and immediately it fell, and the ruin of that house was great."

Acts 20:24-25

24 But I make my life an account of nothing precious to myself, so that I may finish my race, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to fully testify to the Good News of the grace of God. 25 "And now, look, I know that you all, among whom I went about proclaiming the Kingdom, will see my face no more.

Romans 8:28-31

28 And we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. 29 For whom he foreknew, he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. 30 Whom he predestined, those he also called. Whom he called, those he also justified. Whom he justified, those he also glorified. 31 What then are we to say about these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

1 John 3:19-21

19 And by this we will know that we are of the truth, and persuade our heart before him, 20 because if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things. 21 Beloved, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God;

19 "Now therefore write the words of this song for yourselves, and teach it to the children of Israel: put it in their mouths, that this song may be a witness for me against the children of Israel. 20 For when I shall have brought them into the land which I swore to their fathers, flowing with milk and honey, and they shall have eaten and filled themselves, and grown fat; then will they turn to other gods, and serve them, and despise me, and break my covenant. 21 It shall happen, when many evils and troubles have come on them, that this song shall testify before them as a witness; for it shall not be forgotten out of the mouths of their descendants: for I know their imagination which they frame this day, before I have brought them into the land which I swore." 22 So Moses wrote this song the same day, and taught it the children of Israel. 23 He commissioned Joshua the son of Nun, and said, "Be strong and courageous; for you shall bring the children of Israel into the land which I swore to them: and I will be with you." 24 It happened, when Moses had made an end of writing the words of this law on a scroll, until they were finished, 25 that Moses commanded the Levites, who bore the ark of the covenant of the LORD, saying, 26 "Take this book of the law, and put it by the side of the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, that it may be there for a witness against you. 27 For I know your rebellion, and your stiff neck: look, while I am yet alive with you this day, you have been rebellious against God; and how much more after my death? 28 Assemble to me all the elders of your tribes, and your elders and your judges and your officers, that I may speak these words in their ears, and call heaven and earth to witness against them. 29 For I know that after my death you will utterly corrupt yourselves, and turn aside from the way which I have commanded you; and evil will happen to you in the latter days; because you will do that which is evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger through the work of your hands."

Joshua 24:24-29

24 The people said to Joshua, "We will serve the LORD our God, and we will listen to his voice." 25 So Joshua made a covenant with the people that day, and made for them a statute and an ordinance in Shechem. 26 Joshua wrote these words in the book of the law of God; and he took a great stone, and set it up there under the oak that was by the sanctuary of the LORD. 27 Joshua said to all the people, "Look, this stone shall be a witness against us; for it has heard all the words of the LORD which he spoke to us. It shall be therefore a witness against you, lest you deny your God." 28 So Joshua sent the people away, every man to his inheritance. 29 It happened after these things, that Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of the LORD, died, being one hundred ten years old.

1 Chronicles 29:1-20

1 David the king said to all the assembly, "Solomon my son, whom alone God has chosen, is yet young and tender, and the work is great; for the palace is not for man, but for the LORD God. 2 Now I have prepared with all my might for the house of my God the gold for the things of gold, and the silver for the things of silver, and the bronze for the things of bronze, the iron for the things of iron, and wood for the things of wood; onyx stones, and stones to be set, stones for inlaid work, and of various colors, and all kinds of precious stones, and marble stones in abundance. 3 In addition, because I have set my affection on the house of my God, since I have a treasure of my own of gold and silver, I give it to the house of my God, over and above all that I have prepared for the holy house, 4 even three thousand talents of gold, of the gold of Ophir, and seven thousand talents of refined silver, with which to overlay the walls of the houses; 5 of gold for the things of gold, and of silver for the things of silver, and for all kinds of work to be made by the hands of artisans. Who then offers willingly to consecrate himself this day to the LORD?" 6 Then the leaders of the ancestral houses, and the leaders of the tribes of Israel, and the commanders of thousands and of hundreds, with the officers over the king's work, offered willingly; 7 and they gave for the service of God's house of gold five thousand talents and ten thousand darics, and of silver ten thousand talents, and of bronze eighteen thousand talents, and of iron a hundred thousand talents. 8 They with whom precious stones were found gave them to the treasure of the house of the LORD, under the hand of Jehiel the Gershonite. 9 Then the people rejoiced, because they offered willingly, because with a perfect heart they offered willingly to the LORD: and David the king also rejoiced with great joy. 10 Therefore David blessed the LORD before all the assembly; and David said, "You are blessed, LORD, the God of Israel our father, forever and ever. 11 Yours, LORD, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, and the majesty. For all that is in the heavens and in the earth is yours. Yours is the kingdom, LORD, and you are exalted as head above all. 12 Both riches and honor come from you, and you rule over all; and in your hand is power and might; and it is in your hand to make great, and to give strength to all. 13 Now therefore, our God, we thank you, and praise your glorious name. 14 But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly as this? For all things come from you, and of your own have we given you. 15 For we are strangers before you, and foreigners, as all our fathers were. Our days on the earth are as a shadow, and there is no remaining. 16 The LORD our God, all this store that we have prepared to build you a house for your holy name comes from your hand, and is all your own. 17 I know also, my God, that you try the heart, and have pleasure in uprightness. As for me, in the uprightness of my heart I have willingly offered all these things. Now have I seen with joy your people, that are present here, offer willingly to you. 18 The LORD, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Israel, our fathers, keep this forever in the imagination of the thoughts of the heart of your people, and prepare their heart for you; 19 and give to Solomon my son a perfect heart, to keep your commandments, your testimonies, and your statutes, and to do all these things, and to build the palace, for which I have made provision." 20 David said to all the assembly, "Now bless the LORD your God." All the assembly blessed the LORD, the God of their fathers, and bowed down their heads and prostrated themselves before the LORD and the king.
