¹ Simeon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, to those who have obtained a like precious faith with us in the righteousness of our God and Savior, Jesus Christ: ² Grace to you and peace be multiplied in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, ³ seeing that his divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and virtue; ⁴ by which he has granted to us his precious and exceedingly great promises; that through these you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world by lust. ⁵ Yes, and for this very cause adding on your part all diligence, in your faith supply moral excellence; and in moral excellence, knowledge; ⁶ and in knowledge, self-control; and in self-control patience; and in patience godliness; ⁷ and in godliness brotherly affection; and in brotherly affection, love. ⁸ For if these things are yours and abound, they make you to be not idle nor unfruitful to the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. ⁹ For he who lacks these things is blind, seeing only what is near, having forgotten the cleansing from his old sins. ¹⁰ Therefore, brothers, be more diligent to make your calling and election sure. For if you do these things, you will never stumble. ¹¹ For thus you will be richly supplied with the entrance into the everlasting Kingdom of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. ¹² Therefore I will be ready always to remind you of these things, though you know them, and are established in the present truth. ¹³ I think it right, as long as I am in this tent, to stir you up by reminding you; ¹⁴ knowing that the putting off of my tent comes swiftly, even as our Lord Jesus Christ made clear to me. ¹⁵ Yes, I will make every effort that you may always be able to remember these things even after my departure. ¹⁶ For we did not follow cunningly devised tales, when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty. ¹⁷ For he received from God the Father honor and glory, when the voice came to him from the Majestic Glory, "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." ¹⁸ We heard this voice come out of heaven when we were with him on the holy mountain. ¹⁹ We have the more sure word of prophecy; and you do well that you heed it, as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns, and the morning star arises in your hearts: ²⁰ knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of private interpretation. ²¹ For no prophecy ever came by human will, but people spoke from God, being moved by the Holy Spirit.

² Look, in the God of my salvation I will trust, and will not be afraid. For the LORD is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation."

¹⁶ In those days shall Judah be saved, and Jerusalem shall dwell safely; and this is the name by which she shall be called: "The LORD our righteousness."

¹⁸ And walking by the sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers: Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew, his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen.

² Now the names of the twelve apostles are these. The first, Simon, who is called Peter; and Andrew his brother; and James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother;

⁴⁷ And my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,

⁴⁹ Therefore also the wisdom of God said, 'I will send to them prophets and apostles; and some of them they will kill and persecute,

³¹ And the Lord said, "Simon, Simon, look, Satan asked to have you, that he might sift you as wheat, ³² but I prayed for you, that your faith would not fail. You, when once you have turned again, establish your brothers." ³³ He said to him, "Lord, I am ready to go with you both to prison and to death." ³⁴ He said, "I tell you, Peter, the rooster will by no means crow today until you deny that you know me three times."

⁴² He brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him, and said, "You are Simon the son of John. You will be called Cephas" (which is translated, Peter).

²⁶ If anyone serves me, let him follow me; and where I am, there will my servant also be. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him.

²¹ Jesus therefore said to them again, "Peace be to you. As the Father has sent me, even so I send you."

¹⁵ So when they had eaten their breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these?" He said to him, "Yes, Lord; you know that I love you." He said to him, "Feed my lambs." ¹⁶ He said to him again a second time, "Simon, son of John, do you love me?" He said to him, "Yes, Lord; you know that I love you." He said to him, "Tend my sheep." ¹⁷ He said to him the third time, "Simon, son of John, do you love me?" Peter was grieved because he asked him the third time, "Do you love me?" And he said to him, "Lord, you know everything. You know that I love you." Jesus said to him, "Feed my sheep.

⁸ God, who knows the heart, testified about them by giving the Holy Spirit, just like he did to us. ⁹ He made no distinction between us and them, cleansing their hearts by faith.

¹⁴ Simeon has reported how God first visited the nations, to take out of them a people for his name.

¹ Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle, set apart for the Good News of God,

¹² that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other's faith, both yours and mine.

¹⁷ For in it is revealed God's righteousness from faith to faith. As it is written, "But the righteous will live by faith."

²¹ But now apart from the law, a righteousness of God has been revealed, being testified by the Law and the Prophets; ²² even the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. For there is no distinction, ²³ for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God; ²⁴ being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus; ²⁵ whom God set forth whom God displayed publicly as a mercy seat, through faith in his blood, for a demonstration of his righteousness, because in God's forbearance he had passed over the sins previously committed; ²⁶ to demonstrate his righteousness at this present time, so that he would be just, and the justifier of him who has faith in Jesus.

³⁰ And because of him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification and redemption,

¹ Am I not free? Am I not an apostle? Have I not seen Jesus our Lord? Are you not my work in the Lord?

⁹ For I am the least of the apostles, who is not worthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.

¹³ But having the same spirit of faith, according to that which is written, "I believed, and therefore I spoke." We also believe, and therefore also we speak;

²¹ For him who knew no sin he made to be sin on our behalf; so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

⁸ (for he who appointed Peter to be an apostle of the circumcision appointed me also to the non-Jews);

⁵ which in other generations was not made known to people, as it has now been revealed to his holy apostles and prophets in the Spirit;

⁵ one Lord, one faith, one baptism,

¹¹ He gave some to be apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

²⁹ Because it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in him, but also to suffer on his behalf,

⁹ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own, that which is of the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith;

⁵ having been reminded of the unfeigned faith that is in you; which lived first in your grandmother Lois, and your mother Eunice, and, I am persuaded, in you also.

¹ Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God's chosen ones, and the knowledge of the truth which is according to godliness,

⁴ to Titus, my true child according to a common faith: Grace and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Savior.

¹³ looking for the blessed hope and appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ;

¹ Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the chosen ones who are living as foreigners in the Diaspora in Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,

⁷ that the genuineness of your faith, which is more precious than gold that perishes even though it is tested by fire, may be found to result in praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ—

⁷ For you who believe therefore is the honor, but for those who do not believe, "The stone which the builders rejected, has become the chief cornerstone,"

¹ Therefore, I exhort the elders among you, as a fellow elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and who will also share in the glory that will be revealed.

⁴ by which he has granted to us his precious and exceedingly great promises; that through these you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world by lust.

²⁴ 'The LORD bless you, and keep you. ²⁵ The LORD make his face to shine on you, and be gracious to you. ²⁶ The LORD lift up his face toward you, and give you peace.'

¹¹ After the suffering of his soul he will see light and be satisfied by his knowledge. The righteous one, my servant, will make many righteous, and he will bear their iniquities.

¹ "Nebuchadnezzar the king, to all the peoples, nations, and languages, who dwell in all the earth: Peace be multiplied to you.

²⁵ Then king Daryavesh wrote to all the peoples, nations, and languages, who dwell in all the earth: "Peace be multiplied to you.

²² "All things have been delivered to me by my Father. No one knows who the Son is, except the Father, and who the Father is, except the Son, and he to whomever the Son desires to reveal him."

³ This is everlasting life, that they may know you, the only true God, and him whom you sent, Jesus Christ.

⁷ to all who are in Rome, loved by God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

⁶ For it is God, who spoke for light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.

⁸ More than that, I count all things to be a loss compared to the far greater value of knowing Christ Jesus, my Lord, for whom I suffered the loss of all things, and count them nothing but refuse, that I may gain Christ

² according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in sanctification of the Spirit, that you may obey Jesus Christ and be sprinkled with his blood: Grace to you and peace be multiplied. ³ seeing that his divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and virtue;

⁸ For if these things are yours and abound, they make you to be not idle nor unfruitful to the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

²⁰ For if, after they have escaped the defilement of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in it and overcome, the last state has become worse for them than the first.

¹⁸ But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and forever.

²⁰ We know that the Son of God has come, and has given us an understanding, that we know him who is true, and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life. ²¹ Little children, keep yourselves from idols.

² Mercy to you and peace and love be multiplied.

⁴ John, to the seven churches that are in Asia: Grace to you and peace, from him who is and who was and who is to come; and from the seven Spirits who are before his throne;

¹¹ Now, my daughter, do not be afraid; I will do to you all that you say; for all the city of my people does know that you are a worthy woman.

¹¹ For the LORD God is a sun and a shield. The LORD will give grace and glory. He withholds no good thing from those who walk blamelessly.

³ Your people offer themselves willingly on the day of your power. On the holy mountains at sunrise the dew of your youth will be yours.

⁴ A worthy woman is the crown of her husband, but a disgraceful wife is as rottenness in his bones.

¹⁰ Who can find a worthy woman? For her price is far above rubies.

²⁹ "Many women do noble things, but you excel them all."

¹⁸ Jesus came to them and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth.

² even as you gave him authority over all flesh, he will give everlasting life to all whom you have given him. ³ This is everlasting life, that they may know you, the only true God, and him whom you sent, Jesus Christ.

²⁸ And we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. ²⁹ For whom he foreknew, he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. ³⁰ Whom he predestined, those he also called. Whom he called, those he also justified. Whom he justified, those he also glorified.

³² He who did not spare his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how would he not also with him freely give us all things?

²⁴ us, whom he also called, not from the Jews only, but also from the non-Jews?

⁹ God is faithful, through whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord.

²¹ Therefore let no one boast about people. For all things are yours, ²² whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come. All are yours, ²³ and you are Christ's, and Christ is God's.

⁹ He has said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness." Most gladly therefore I will rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest on me.

¹⁹ and what is the exceeding greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to that working of the strength of his might ²⁰ which he worked in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and made him to sit at his right hand in the heavenly places, ²¹ far above all rule, and authority, and power, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age, but also in that which is to come.

¹ I therefore, a prisoner in the Lord, urge you to lead a life worthy of the calling to which you have been called,

⁴ There is one body, and one Spirit, even as you also were called in one hope of your calling;

⁸ Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think on these things.

¹⁶ For by him all things were created, in the heavens and on the earth, things visible and things invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities; all things have been created by him and for him.

¹² we exhorted, comforted, and implored every one of you to lead a life worthy of God, who calls you into his own Kingdom and glory.

⁷ For God called us not for uncleanness, but in sanctification.

¹⁴ to which he called you through our Good News, for the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

⁸ For bodily exercise has some value, but godliness has value in all things, having the promise of the life which is now, and of that which is to come.

⁹ who saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began,

³ He is the radiance of his glory, the very image of his substance, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had made purification for sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;

⁵ who by the power of God are guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

¹⁵ but just as he who called you is holy, you yourselves also be holy in all of your behavior;

⁹ But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellence of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:

²¹ For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow his steps,

⁹ not rendering evil for evil, or reviling for reviling; but instead blessing; because to this were you called, that you may inherit a blessing.

¹⁰ And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen and establish you.

² Grace to you and peace be multiplied in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord,

⁵ Yes, and for this very cause adding on your part all diligence, in your faith supply moral excellence; and in moral excellence, knowledge;

²⁵ I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. ²⁶ And I will also give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. And I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh. ²⁷ I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and you shall keep my ordinances, and do them.

¹² But as many as received him, to them he gave the right to become God's children, to those who believe in his name, ¹³ who were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

⁴ who are Israelites; whose is the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service, and the promises;

²⁰ For however many are the promises of God, in him they are "Yes." Therefore also through him they are "Amen," to the glory of God through us.

¹⁸ But we all, with unveiled face looking as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are transformed into the same image from glory to glory, even as from the Lord, the Spirit.

¹⁷ Therefore, "'Go out from their midst, and be separate,' says the Lord, 'and touch no unclean thing,' and I will receive you.

¹⁶ Now the promises were spoken to Abraham and to his offspring. He does not say, "And to offsprings," as of many, but as of one, "And to your offspring," which is Christ.

⁸ For he who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption. But he who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap everlasting life.

²³ and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind, ²⁴ and put on the new self, who in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of truth.

¹⁰ and have put on the new self, who is being renewed in knowledge after the image of his Creator,

⁶ But now he has obtained a more excellent ministry, by so much as he is also the mediator of a better covenant, which on better promises has been given as Law. ⁷ For if that first had been faultless, then no place would have been sought for a second. ⁸ For finding fault with them, he said, "Look, the days are coming," says the Lord, "when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah; ⁹ not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers, in the day that I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; for they did not continue in my covenant, and I disregarded them," says the Lord. ¹⁰ "For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel. After those days," says the Lord; "I will put my laws into their mind, I will also write them on their heart. I will be their God, and they will be my people. ¹¹ They will not teach each one his fellow citizen, and each one his brother, saying, 'Know the Lord,' for all will know me, from the least of them to the greatest of them. ¹² For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness. I will remember their sins no more."

¹⁵ For this reason he is the mediator of a new covenant, since a death has occurred for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first covenant, that those who have been called may receive the promise of the everlasting inheritance.

¹⁰ For they indeed, for a few days, disciplined us as seemed good to them; but he for our profit, that we may be partakers of his holiness.

¹ Where do conflicts and quarrels among you come from? Do they not come from your passions that war in your members? ² You lust, and do not have. You kill, covet, and cannot obtain. You fight and make war. You do not have, because you do not ask. ³ You ask, and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it for your pleasures.

² that you no longer should live the rest of your time in the flesh for human desires, but for the will of God. ³ For enough time in the past has been spent doing the will of the unbelievers, and having walked in lewdness, lusts, drunkenness, orgies, carousings, and abominable idolatries.

¹ Simeon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, to those who have obtained a like precious faith with us in the righteousness of our God and Savior, Jesus Christ:

¹⁸ For, uttering great swelling words of emptiness, they entice in the lusts of the flesh, by licentiousness, those who actually escape from those who live in error; ¹⁹ promising them liberty, while they themselves are slaves of corruption; for a person is brought into bondage by whoever overcomes him. ²⁰ For if, after they have escaped the defilement of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in it and overcome, the last state has become worse for them than the first.

¹⁵ Do not love the world, neither the things that are in the world. If anyone loves the world, the Father's love is not in him. ¹⁶ For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not the Father's, but is the world's.

²⁵ This is the promise which he promised us, the everlasting life.

² Beloved, now we are children of God, and it is not yet revealed what we will be. We know that, when he is revealed, we will be like him; for we will see him just as he is.

⁴ You have commanded your precepts, that we should fully obey them.

²³ Guard your heart with all diligence, for out of it is the wellspring of life.

² Why do you spend money for that which is not bread? and your labor for that which doesn't satisfy? Listen diligently to me, and eat you that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.

¹⁵ Those who are far off shall come and build in the temple of the LORD; and you shall know that the LORD of hosts has sent me to you. This will happen, if you will diligently obey the voice of the LORD your God."'"

²⁶ Besides all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed, that those who want to pass from here to you are not able, and that none may cross over from there to us.'

²¹ But we were hoping that it was he who would redeem Israel. Yes, and besides all this, it is now the third day since these things happened.

²⁷ Do not work for the food which perishes, but for the food which remains to everlasting life, which the Son of Man will give to you. For God the Father has sealed him."

²⁰ Brothers, do not be children in thoughts, yet in malice be babies, but in thoughts be mature.

¹⁷ that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him; ¹⁸ having the eyes of your heart enlightened, that you may know what is the hope of his calling, and what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,

¹⁷ Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.

⁹ This I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and all discernment;

¹² So then, my beloved, even as you have always obeyed, not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with awe and reverence.

⁹ For this cause, we also, since the day we heard this, do not cease praying and making requests for you, that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding,

³ in whom are all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge hidden.

¹¹ We desire that each one of you may show the same diligence to the fullness of hope even to the end,

⁶ Now without faith it is impossible to be well pleasing to him, for he who comes to God must believe that he exists, and that he is a rewarder of those who seek him.

¹⁵ looking carefully lest there be anyone who falls short of the grace of God; that no root of bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by it many become defiled;

⁷ You husbands, in like manner, live with your wives according to knowledge, giving honor to the woman, as to the weaker vessel, as being also joint heirs of the grace of life; that your prayers may not be hindered.

² Grace to you and peace be multiplied in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, ³ seeing that his divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and virtue;

¹⁰ Therefore, brothers, be more diligent to make your calling and election sure. For if you do these things, you will never stumble.

¹⁴ Therefore, beloved, seeing that you look for these things, be diligent to be found in peace, without blemish and blameless in his sight.

²⁴ Hanoch walked with God, and then he was not there, for God took him.

⁷ Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him. Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who makes wicked plots happen.

¹ The righteous perishes, and no man lays it to heart; and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil.

¹⁵ That in the good ground, these are such as in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, hold it tightly, and bring forth fruit with patience.

¹⁹ "By your endurance you will win your lives.

²⁵ As he reasoned about righteousness, self-control, and the judgment to come, Felix was terrified, and answered, "Go your way for this time, and when it is convenient for me, I will summon you."

⁷ to those who by perseverance in good works seek glory and honor and immortality -- everlasting life.

³ Not only this, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering works perseverance; ⁴ and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope:

²⁵ But if we hope for that which we do not see, we wait for it with patience.

⁴ For whatever things were written before were written for our instruction, that through patience and through encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.

²⁵ Now everyone who competes in the games exercises self-control in all things. Now they do it to receive a corruptible crown, but we an incorruptible.

⁴ but in everything commending ourselves, as servants of God, in great endurance, in afflictions, in hardships, in distresses,

²³ gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

¹¹ strengthened with all power, according to the might of his glory, for all endurance and perseverance with joy;

³ remembering without ceasing your work of faith and labor of love and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, before our God and Father. ⁴ so that we ourselves boast about you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and in the afflictions which you endure.

⁵ May the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patience of Christ.

² for kings and all who are in high places; that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence.

¹⁰ but (which becomes women professing godliness) with good works.

¹⁶ Without controversy, the mystery of godliness is great: He was revealed in the flesh, justified by the Spirit, seen by angels, preached among the nations, believed on in the world, and received up in glory.

⁷ But have nothing to do with irreverent and silly myths. And train yourself for godliness. ⁸ For bodily exercise has some value, but godliness has value in all things, having the promise of the life which is now, and of that which is to come.

³ If anyone teaches a different doctrine, and does not consent to sound words, the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness,

⁶ But godliness with contentment is great gain.

¹¹ But you, man of God, flee these things, and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, and gentleness.

⁵ holding a form of godliness, but having denied the power thereof. Turn away from these, also.

⁸ but given to hospitality, as a lover of good, sober minded, fair, holy, self-controlled;

² that older men should be sober-minded, worthy of respect, self-controlled, sound in faith, in love, and in patience:

¹² that you won't be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherited the promises.

¹⁵ Thus, having patiently endured, he obtained the promise.

³⁶ For you need patient endurance so that, having done the will of God, you may receive the promise.

¹ Therefore let us also, seeing we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

³ knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. ⁴ Let endurance have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

⁷ Be patient therefore, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. Look, the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient over it, until it receives the early and late rain. ⁸ You also be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is near. ⁹ Do not grumble, brothers, against one another, so that you won't be judged. Look, the judge stands at the door. ¹⁰ Take, brothers, for an example of suffering and of patience, the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord.

¹¹ Therefore since all these things will be destroyed like this, what kind of people ought you to be in holy living and godliness,

⁹ I John, your brother and fellow-partner with you in persecution, Kingdom, and patient endurance in Jesus, was on the island that is called Patmos because of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus.

² "I know your works, and your toil and perseverance, and that you cannot tolerate those who are evil, and have tested those who call themselves apostles, and they are not, and found them false.

¹⁰ If anyone is to go into captivity, he will go into captivity. If anyone is to be killed with the sword, he must be killed with the sword. Here is the endurance and the faith of the saints.

¹² Here is the patience of the saints, those who keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus."

³⁴ A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also must love one another. ³⁵ By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another."

¹⁰ In love of the brothers be tenderly affectionate one to another; outdo one another in showing honor;

¹ If I speak with the tongues of humans and of angels, but do not have love, I have become sounding bronze, or a clanging cymbal. ² If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. ³ If I dole out all my goods to feed the poor, and if I surrender my body so that I may boast, but do not have love, it profits me nothing. ⁴ Love is patient and is kind; love does not envy. Love does not brag, is not proud, ⁵ does not behave itself inappropriately, does not seek its own way, is not irritable, does not keep a record of wrongs; ⁶ does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; ⁷ bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. ⁸ Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will be done away with. Where there are tongues, they will cease. Where there is knowledge, it will be done away with.

¹⁰ So then, as we have opportunity, let us do what is good toward all people, and especially toward those who are of the household of the faith.

¹⁴ Above all these things, walk in love, which is the bond of perfection.

¹² and the Lord make you to increase and abound in love for one another and for all, even as we also do toward you,

⁹ But concerning brotherly love, you have no need that one write to you. For you yourselves are taught by God to love one another, ¹⁰ for indeed you do it toward all the brothers who are in all Macedonia. But we exhort you, brothers, that you abound more and more;

¹⁵ See that no one returns evil for evil to anyone, but always seek what is good both for each other and for all.

¹ Let brotherly love continue.

²² Seeing you have purified your souls in your obedience to the truth in sincere brotherly affection, love one another from a pure heart fervently:

¹⁷ Honor all people. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.

⁸ Finally, be all like-minded, compassionate, loving as brothers, tenderhearted, humble,

¹⁴ We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brothers. He who does not love remains in death.

¹⁶ By this we know love, because he laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.

²¹ This commandment we have from him, that he who loves God should also love his brother.

¹⁵ Slothfulness casts into a deep sleep. The idle soul shall suffer hunger.

²² And what was sown among the thorns, this is he who hears the word, but the cares of the world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful.

³ He went out about nine in the morning, and saw others standing idle in the marketplace.

⁶ About five that afternoon he went out, and found others standing. He said to them, 'Why do you stand here all day idle?'

²⁶ "But his lord answered him, 'You wicked and slothful servant. You knew that I reap where I did not sow, and gather where I did not scatter.

⁴² But I know you, that you do not have God's love in yourselves.

² Every branch in me that does not bear fruit, he takes away. Every branch that bears fruit, he prunes, that it may bear more fruit.

⁶ If anyone does not remain in me, he is thrown out as a branch, and withers; and they gather them, throw them into the fire, and they are burned. ⁷ If you remain in me, and my words remain in you, ask whatever you desire, and it will be done for you. ⁸ "In this is my Father glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples.

¹¹ not lagging in diligence; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;

⁵⁸ Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the Lord's work, because you know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

¹³ For if we are out of control, it is for God. If we are in a reasonable way, it is for you. ¹⁴ For the love of Christ constrains us; because we judge thus, that one died for all, therefore all died. ¹⁵ He died for all, that those who live should no longer live to themselves, but to him who for their sakes died and rose again. ¹⁶ Therefore we know no one after the flesh from now on. Even though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now we no longer know him in this way. ¹⁷ Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Look, new things have come.

² how that in much proof of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded to the riches of their liberality.

⁷ But as you abound in everything, in faith, utterance, knowledge, all earnestness, and in the love from us that is in you, see that you also abound in this grace.

¹⁴ while they themselves also, with petition on your behalf, yearn for you by reason of the exceeding grace of God in you.

⁵ Test your own selves, whether you are in the faith. Test your own selves. Or do you not know as to your own selves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you are disqualified.

⁵ Have this in your mind, which was also in Christ Jesus,

⁷ rooted and built up in him, and established in the faith, even as you were taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.

¹⁶ Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; in all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your heart to God.

¹ Finally then, brothers, we ask and urge you in the Lord Jesus, that as you received from us how you ought to live and to please God, even as you are living, that you excel more and more.

³ We are bound to always give thanks to God for you, brothers, even as it is appropriate, because your faith grows exceedingly, and the love of each and every one of you towards one another abounds;

¹³ Besides, they also learn to be idle, going about from house to house. Not only idle, but also gossips and busybodies, saying things which they ought not.

¹⁴ Let our people also learn to maintain good works for necessary uses, that they may not be unfruitful.

⁶ that the fellowship of your faith may become effective, in the knowledge of every good thing which is in you in Christ.

²¹ Jesus looking at him loved him, and said to him, "One thing you lack. Go, sell whatever you have, and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me, taking up the cross."

²² When Jesus heard it, he said to him, "You still lack one thing. Sell all that you have, and distribute it to the poor. You will have treasure in heaven. Come, follow me."

⁴⁰ Those of the Pharisees who were with him heard these things, and said to him, "Are we also blind?" ⁴¹ Jesus said to them, "If you were blind, you would have no sin; but since you say, 'We see,' your sin remains.

¹ What should we say then? Should we continue in sin, that grace may abound? ² Absolutely not. We who died to sin, how could we live in it any longer? ³ Or do you not know that all we who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? ⁴ We were buried therefore with him through baptism to death, that just like Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we also might walk in newness of life.

¹¹ In the same way, consider yourselves dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus.

³ Even if our Good News is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing; ⁴ in whom the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, so they would not see the light of the glorious Good News of Christ, who is the image of God.

⁶ For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision amounts to anything, nor uncircumcision, but faith working through love.

¹³ For you, brothers, were called for freedom. Only do not use your freedom for gain to the flesh, but through love be servants to one another.

²⁶ that he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the washing of water with the word,

¹⁴ who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify for himself a people for his own possession, zealous for good works.

¹⁴ how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, cleanse our conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

¹⁴ What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith, but has no works? Can faith save him? ¹⁵ And if a brother or sister is poorly clothed and may be lacking in daily food, ¹⁶ and one of you tells them, "Go in peace, be warmed and filled;" and yet you did not give them the things the body needs, what good is it? ¹⁷ Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead in itself. ¹⁸ But someone will say, "You have faith, and I have works." Show me your faith without works, and I by my works will show you my faith. ¹⁹ You believe that God is one. You do well. The demons also believe, and shudder. ²⁰ But do you want to know, foolish person, that faith apart from works is useless? ²¹ Wasn't Abraham our father justified by works, in that he offered up Isaac his son on the altar? ²² You see that faith worked with his works, and by works faith was perfected; ²³ and the Scripture was fulfilled which says, "And Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness;" and he was called the friend of God. ²⁴ You see that a person is justified by works and not by faith alone. ²⁵ In like manner was not Rahab the prostitute also justified by works, in that she received the messengers, and sent them out another way? ²⁶ For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, even so faith apart from works is dead.

²¹ This is a symbol of baptism, which now saves you—not the removal of dirt from the body, but an appeal to God for a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

⁴ by which he has granted to us his precious and exceedingly great promises; that through these you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world by lust. ⁵ Yes, and for this very cause adding on your part all diligence, in your faith supply moral excellence; and in moral excellence, knowledge; ⁶ and in knowledge, self-control; and in self-control patience; and in patience godliness; ⁷ and in godliness brotherly affection; and in brotherly affection, love.

⁷ But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.

⁹ He who says he is in the light and hates his brother, is in the darkness even until now. ¹⁰ He who loves his brother remains in the light, and there is no occasion for stumbling in him. ¹¹ But he who hates his brother is in the darkness, and walks in the darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes.

¹⁷ Because you say, 'I am rich, and have gotten riches, and have need of nothing;' and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked;

⁵ He doesn't lend out his money for interest, nor take a bribe against the innocent. He who does these things shall never be shaken.

²⁴ Though he stumble, he shall not fall, for the LORD holds him up with his hand.

² He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress—I will never be greatly shaken.

⁶ He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress. I will not be shaken.

⁶ For he will never be shaken. The righteous will be remembered forever.

³ He will not allow your foot to be moved. He who keeps you will not slumber.

² Blessed is the man who does this, and the son of man who holds it fast; who keeps the Sabbath from profaning it, and keeps his hand from doing any evil."

⁸ Do not rejoice against me, my enemy. When I fall, I will arise. When I sit in darkness, the LORD will be a light to me.

²⁴ "Everyone therefore who hears these words of mine, and does them, will be compared to a wise man, who built his house on a rock. ²⁵ And the rain came down, the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.

⁴⁷ Everyone who comes to me, and hears my words, and does them, I will show you who he is like. ⁴⁸ He is like someone building a house, who dug and went deep, and laid a foundation on the rock. When a flood arose, the stream broke against that house, and could not shake it, because it had been well built. ⁴⁹ But he who hears, and does not do, is like someone who built a house on the earth without a foundation, against which the stream broke, and immediately it fell, and the ruin of that house was great."

²⁴ But I make my life an account of nothing precious to myself, so that I may finish my race, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to fully testify to the Good News of the grace of God. ²⁵ "And now, look, I know that you all, among whom I went about proclaiming the Kingdom, will see my face no more.

²⁸ And we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. ²⁹ For whom he foreknew, he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. ³⁰ Whom he predestined, those he also called. Whom he called, those he also justified. Whom he justified, those he also glorified. ³¹ What then are we to say about these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

³ remembering without ceasing your work of faith and labor of love and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, before our God and Father. ⁴ We know, brothers loved by God, that you are chosen,

¹³ But we are bound to always give thanks to God for you, brothers loved by the Lord, because God chose you from the beginning for salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief in the truth; ¹⁴ to which he called you through our Good News, for the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

¹⁹ However God's firm foundation stands, having this seal, "The Lord knows those who are his," and, "Let every one who names the name of the Lord depart from unrighteousness."

¹⁹ This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast and entering into that which is within the curtain;

¹⁷ You therefore, beloved, knowing these things beforehand, beware, lest being carried away with the error of the wicked, you fall from your own steadfastness.

¹⁹ And by this we will know that we are of the truth, and persuade our heart before him, ²⁰ because if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things. ²¹ Beloved, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God;

¹⁰ Because you kept my command to endure, I also will keep you from the hour of testing, which is to come on the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth. ¹¹ I am coming quickly. Hold firmly that which you have, so that no one takes your crown.

¹⁴ Blessed are they who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter in by the gates into the city.

⁸ They shall be abundantly satisfied with the abundance of your house. You will make them drink of the river of your pleasures.

¹ I have come into my garden, my sister, my bride. I have gathered my myrrh with my spice; I have eaten my honeycomb with my honey; I have drunk my wine with my milk. Eat, friends. Drink, yes, drink abundantly, beloved.

⁷ Of the increase of his government and of peace there shall be no end, on the throne of David, and on his kingdom, to establish it, and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from that time on, even forever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

² It will blossom abundantly, and rejoice even with joy and singing. Lebanon's glory Lebanon will be given to it, the excellence of Carmel and Sharon. They will see the LORD's glory, the excellence of our God.

¹⁴ There was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all the peoples, nations, and languages should serve him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.

²⁷ The kingdom and the dominion, and the greatness of the kingdoms under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the holy ones of the Most High. His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.'

³⁴ Then the King will tell those on his right hand, 'Come, blessed of my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world;

¹⁰ The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly.

¹ For we know that if the earthly house of our tent is dissolved, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, everlasting, in the heavens.

²⁰ Now to him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,

⁸ From now on, there is stored up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give to me on that day; and not to me only, but also to all those who have loved his appearing.

¹⁷ In this way God, being determined to show more abundantly to the heirs of the promise the immutability of his counsel, interposed with an oath;

²¹ He who overcomes, I will give to him to sit down with me on my throne, as I also overcame, and sat down with my Father on his throne.

¹⁰ and made them a kingdom and priests to our God, and they will reign on earth."

⁵ So the churches were strengthened in the faith, and increased in number daily.

¹⁴ I myself am also persuaded about you, my brothers, that you yourselves are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, able also to admonish others. ¹⁵ But I write the more boldly to you in part, as reminding you, because of the grace that was given to me by God,

¹ Finally, my brothers, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things to you is no trouble to me, and is a safeguard for you.

⁶ If you instruct the brothers of these things, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, nourished in the words of the faith, and of the good doctrine which you have followed.

⁶ For this cause, I remind you that you should stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands.

³² But remember the former days, in which, after you were enlightened, you endured a great struggle with sufferings;

⁹ Do not be carried away by all kinds of strange teachings, for it is good that the heart be established by grace, not by food, through which those who were so occupied were not benefited.

¹² Through Silvanus, our faithful brother, as I consider him, I have written to you briefly, exhorting, and testifying that this is the true grace of God. Stand firm in it.

¹³ I think it right, as long as I am in this tent, to stir you up by reminding you;

¹⁵ Yes, I will make every effort that you may always be able to remember these things even after my departure.

¹ This is now, beloved, the second letter that I have written to you; and in both of them I stir up your sincere mind by reminding you;

²¹ I have not written to you because you do not know the truth, but because you know it, and because no lie is of the truth.

² for the truth's sake, which remains in us, and it will be with us forever: ³ Beloved, while I was very eager to write to you about our common salvation, I was constrained to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints.

⁵ Now I want to remind you, though you already know all these things, that the Lord, having saved a people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe.

¹⁷ But you, beloved, remember the words which have been spoken before by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ.

¹⁴ The LORD stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel, the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua, the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people; and they came and worked on the house of the LORD of hosts, their God,

¹ For we know that if the earthly house of our tent is dissolved, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, everlasting, in the heavens. ² For truly in this we groan, longing to be clothed with our habitation which is from heaven, ³ since, after we have put it on, we will not be found naked. ⁴ For indeed we who are in this tent do groan, being burdened; not that we desire to be unclothed, but that we desire to be clothed, that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life.

⁸ We are of good courage, I say, and are willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be at home with the Lord.

³ Remember those who are in bonds, as bound with them; and those who are ill-treated, since you are also in the body.

¹² Therefore I will be ready always to remind you of these things, though you know them, and are established in the present truth.

¹⁴ knowing that the putting off of my tent comes swiftly, even as our Lord Jesus Christ made clear to me.

²¹ Furthermore the LORD was angry with me for your sakes, and swore that I should not go over the Jordan, and that I should not go in to that good land, which the LORD your God gives you for an inheritance: ²² but I must die in this land, I must not go over the Jordan; but you shall go over, and possess that good land.

¹⁴ The LORD said to Moses, "Look, your days approach that you must die: call Joshua, and present yourselves in the Tent of Meeting, that I may commission him." Moses and Joshua went, and presented themselves in the Tent of Meeting.

¹⁴ Look, today I am going the way of all the earth. You know in all your hearts and in all your souls that not one thing has failed of all the good things which the LORD your God spoke concerning you. All have happened to you. Not one thing has failed of it.

² "I am going the way of all the earth. You be strong therefore, and show yourself a man; ³ and keep the instruction of the LORD your God, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, his commandments, his ordinances, and his testimonies, according to that which is written in the law of Moses, that you may prosper in all that you do, and wherever you turn yourself.

¹⁸ Truly I tell you, when you were young, you dressed yourself, and walked where you wanted to. But when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will dress you, and carry you where you do not want to go." ¹⁹ Now he said this, signifying by what kind of death he would glorify God. When he had said this, he said to him, "Follow me."

²⁵ "And now, look, I know that you all, among whom I went about proclaiming the Kingdom, will see my face no more.

⁶ For I am already being offered, and the time of my departure has come.

¹⁹ "Now therefore write the words of this song for yourselves, and teach it to the children of Israel: put it in their mouths, that this song may be a witness for me against the children of Israel. ²⁰ For when I shall have brought them into the land which I swore to their fathers, flowing with milk and honey, and they shall have eaten and filled themselves, and grown fat; then will they turn to other gods, and serve them, and despise me, and break my covenant. ²¹ It shall happen, when many evils and troubles have come on them, that this song shall testify before them as a witness; for it shall not be forgotten out of the mouths of their descendants: for I know their imagination which they frame this day, before I have brought them into the land which I swore." ²² So Moses wrote this song the same day, and taught it the children of Israel. ²³ He commissioned Joshua the son of Nun, and said, "Be strong and courageous; for you shall bring the children of Israel into the land which I swore to them: and I will be with you." ²⁴ It happened, when Moses had made an end of writing the words of this law on a scroll, until they were finished, ²⁵ that Moses commanded the Levites, who bore the ark of the covenant of the LORD, saying, ²⁶ "Take this book of the law, and put it by the side of the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, that it may be there for a witness against you. ²⁷ For I know your rebellion, and your stiff neck: look, while I am yet alive with you this day, you have been rebellious against God; and how much more after my death? ²⁸ Assemble to me all the elders of your tribes, and your elders and your judges and your officers, that I may speak these words in their ears, and call heaven and earth to witness against them. ²⁹ For I know that after my death you will utterly corrupt yourselves, and turn aside from the way which I have commanded you; and evil will happen to you in the latter days; because you will do that which is evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger through the work of your hands."

²⁴ The people said to Joshua, "We will serve the LORD our God, and we will listen to his voice." ²⁵ So Joshua made a covenant with the people that day, and made for them a statute and an ordinance in Shechem. ²⁶ Joshua wrote these words in the book of the law of God; and he took a great stone, and set it up there under the oak that was by the sanctuary of the LORD. ²⁷ Joshua said to all the people, "Look, this stone shall be a witness against us; for it has heard all the words of the LORD which he spoke to us. It shall be therefore a witness against you, lest you deny your God." ²⁸ So Joshua sent the people away, every man to his inheritance. ²⁹ It happened after these things, that Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of the LORD, died, being one hundred ten years old.

¹ David the king said to all the assembly, "Solomon my son, whom alone God has chosen, is yet young and tender, and the work is great; for the palace is not for man, but for the LORD God. ² Now I have prepared with all my might for the house of my God the gold for the things of gold, and the silver for the things of silver, and the bronze for the things of bronze, the iron for the things of iron, and wood for the things of wood; onyx stones, and stones to be set, stones for inlaid work, and of various colors, and all kinds of precious stones, and marble stones in abundance. ³ In addition, because I have set my affection on the house of my God, since I have a treasure of my own of gold and silver, I give it to the house of my God, over and above all that I have prepared for the holy house, ⁴ even three thousand talents of gold, of the gold of Ophir, and seven thousand talents of refined silver, with which to overlay the walls of the houses; ⁵ of gold for the things of gold, and of silver for the things of silver, and for all kinds of work to be made by the hands of artisans. Who then offers willingly to consecrate himself this day to the LORD?" ⁶ Then the leaders of the ancestral houses, and the leaders of the tribes of Israel, and the commanders of thousands and of hundreds, with the officers over the king's work, offered willingly; ⁷ and they gave for the service of God's house of gold five thousand talents and ten thousand darics, and of silver ten thousand talents, and of bronze eighteen thousand talents, and of iron a hundred thousand talents. ⁸ They with whom precious stones were found gave them to the treasure of the house of the LORD, under the hand of Jehiel the Gershonite. ⁹ Then the people rejoiced, because they offered willingly, because with a perfect heart they offered willingly to the LORD: and David the king also rejoiced with great joy. ¹⁰ Therefore David blessed the LORD before all the assembly; and David said, "You are blessed, LORD, the God of Israel our father, forever and ever. ¹¹ Yours, LORD, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, and the majesty. For all that is in the heavens and in the earth is yours. Yours is the kingdom, LORD, and you are exalted as head above all. ¹² Both riches and honor come from you, and you rule over all; and in your hand is power and might; and it is in your hand to make great, and to give strength to all. ¹³ Now therefore, our God, we thank you, and praise your glorious name. ¹⁴ But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly as this? For all things come from you, and of your own have we given you. ¹⁵ For we are strangers before you, and foreigners, as all our fathers were. Our days on the earth are as a shadow, and there is no remaining. ¹⁶ The LORD our God, all this store that we have prepared to build you a house for your holy name comes from your hand, and is all your own. ¹⁷ I know also, my God, that you try the heart, and have pleasure in uprightness. As for me, in the uprightness of my heart I have willingly offered all these things. Now have I seen with joy your people, that are present here, offer willingly to you. ¹⁸ The LORD, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Israel, our fathers, keep this forever in the imagination of the thoughts of the heart of your people, and prepare their heart for you; ¹⁹ and give to Solomon my son a perfect heart, to keep your commandments, your testimonies, and your statutes, and to do all these things, and to build the palace, for which I have made provision." ²⁰ David said to all the assembly, "Now bless the LORD your God." All the assembly blessed the LORD, the God of their fathers, and bowed down their heads and prostrated themselves before the LORD and the king.

¹⁸ Yes, even when I am old and gray-haired, God, do not forsake me, until I have declared your strength to the next generation, your might to everyone who is to come.

³¹ who appeared in glory, and spoke of his departure, which he was about to accomplish at Jerusalem.

² The things which you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit the same to faithful people, who will be able to teach others also.

⁴ By faith, Abel offered to God a better sacrifice than Cain, through which he was attested as righteous, God testifying with respect to his gifts; and though he died he still speaks through it.

² But who can endure the day of his coming? And who will stand when he appears? For he is coming like a refiner's fire, and like launderer's soap.

⁵ Look, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the great and awesome day of the LORD comes.

²⁸ Truly I tell you, there are some standing here who will in no way taste of death, until they see the Son of Man coming in his Kingdom."

³ As he sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, "Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of your coming, and of the end of the age?"

²⁷ For as the lightning flashes from the east, and is seen even to the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.

¹ He said to them, "Truly I tell you, there are some standing here who will in no way taste death until they see the Kingdom of God come with power." ² After six days Jesus took with him Peter, James, and John, and brought them up onto a high mountain privately by themselves, and he was changed into another form in front of them.

²⁸ It happened about eight days after these sayings, that he took with him Peter, John, and James, and went up onto the mountain to pray. ²⁹ As he was praying, the appearance of his face was altered, and his clothing became white and dazzling. ³⁰ And look, two men were talking with him, who were Moses and Elijah, ³¹ who appeared in glory, and spoke of his departure, which he was about to accomplish at Jerusalem. ³² Now Peter and those who were with him were heavy with sleep, but when they were fully awake, they saw his glory, and the two men who stood with him.

¹⁴ And the Word became flesh and lived among us, and we saw his glory, such glory as of the one and only of the Father, full of grace and truth.

² even as you gave him authority over all flesh, he will give everlasting life to all whom you have given him.

⁴ who was declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord,

⁷ so that you are not lacking in any gift, as you wait for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ;

¹⁷ For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to proclaim the Good News—not in wisdom of words, so that the cross of the Christ would not be made void.

²³ but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to the non-Jews,

¹ When I came to you, brothers, I did not come with superiority of speech or wisdom, proclaiming to you the mystery of God.

⁴ My speech and my preaching were not in persuasive words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power,

⁴ In the name of our Lord Jesus, you being gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus,

¹⁷ For we are not, like so many, peddling the word of God. But as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God, we speak in Christ.

² But we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by the manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.

¹⁶ But be it so, I did not myself burden you. But, being crafty, I caught you with deception. ¹⁷ Did I take advantage of you by anyone of them whom I have sent to you?

¹⁴ that we may no longer be children, tossed back and forth and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of people, by cleverness in deceitful schemes;

²¹ who will transform our lowly body into the likeness of his glorious body, according to the power by which he is able even to subject all things to himself.

¹⁹ For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Is it not even you, before our Lord Jesus at his coming?

⁹ even he whose coming is according to the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,

⁴ neither to pay attention to myths and endless genealogies, which cause speculation, rather than God's stewardship, which is in faith—

⁷ But have nothing to do with irreverent and silly myths. And train yourself for godliness.

¹⁴ not paying attention to Jewish myths and commandments of people who reject the truth.

³ knowing this first, that in the last days scoffers will come, mocking and walking after their own lusts, ⁴ and saying, "Where is the promise of his coming? For, from the day that the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation."

¹ That which was from the beginning, that which we have heard, that which we have seen with our eyes, that which we saw, and our hands touched, concerning the Word of life ² (and the life was revealed, and we have seen, and testify, and declare to you the life, the eternal life, which was with the Father, and was revealed to us); ³ that which we have seen and heard we declare to you also, that you also may have fellowship with us. Yes, and our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son, Jesus Christ.

¹⁴ We have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as the Savior of the world.

¹⁴ About these also Hanoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied, saying, "Look, the Lord comes with ten thousands of his holy ones,

⁷ Look, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, including those who pierced him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn over him. Even so, Amen.

¹ "Look, my servant I have chosen, my beloved in whom my soul delights. I have put my Spirit on him, and he will bring justice to the nations.

¹⁰ Yet the LORD was pleased to crush him and make him ill. Although his soul is made a reparation offering, he will see his offspring, he will prolong his days, and the desire of the LORD will succeed by his hand.

¹⁷ And look, a voice out of the heavens said, "This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased."

²⁵ At that time, Jesus answered, "I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you hid these things from the wise and intelligent, and revealed them to little children. ²⁶ Yes, Father, for so it was well-pleasing in your sight. ²⁷ All things have been delivered to me by my Father. No one knows the Son, except the Father; neither does anyone know the Father, except the Son, and he to whom the Son desires to reveal him.

¹⁸ "Look, my servant whom I have chosen; my beloved in whom my soul delights. I will put my Spirit on him; and he will proclaim justice to the nations.

³ And look, Moses and Elijah appeared to them talking with him.

⁵ While he was still speaking, look, a bright cloud overshadowed them. And look, a voice came out of the cloud, saying, "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Listen to him."

¹⁹ Therefore go, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

¹¹ And a voice came out of the sky, "You are my beloved Son, with you I am well pleased."

⁷ A cloud came, overshadowing them, and a voice came out of the cloud, "This is my beloved Son. Listen to him."

²² and the Holy Spirit descended in a bodily form as a dove on him; and a voice came out of the sky, saying "You are my beloved Son. In you I am well pleased."

³⁴ While he said these things, a cloud came and overshadowed them, and they were afraid as they entered into the cloud. ³⁵ A voice came out of the cloud, saying, "This is my Son, my Chosen One. Listen to him."

³⁵ The Father loves the Son, and has given all things into his hand.

²¹ For as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, even so the Son also gives life to whom he desires. ²² For the Father judges no one, but he has given all judgment to the Son, ²³ that all may honor the Son, even as they honor the Father. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him.

²⁶ For as the Father has life in himself, even so he gave to the Son also to have life in himself.

³⁶ But the testimony which I have is greater than that of John, for the works which the Father gave me to accomplish, the very works that I do, testify about me, that the Father has sent me. ³⁷ The Father himself, who sent me, has testified about me. You have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his form.

³⁷ All those whom the Father gives me will come to me. Him who comes to me I will in no way throw out.

³⁹ This is the will of him who sent me, that of all he has given to me I should lose nothing, but should raise him up at the last day.

¹⁵ even as the Father knows me, and I know the Father. I lay down my life for the sheep.

³⁶ do you say of him whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, 'You blaspheme,' because I said, 'I am the Son of God?'

²⁸ Father, glorify your name." Then there came a voice out of the sky, saying, "I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again." ²⁹ The crowd therefore, who stood by and heard it, said that it had thundered. Others said, "An angel has spoken to him."

¹ Now before the feast of the Passover, Jesus, knowing that his time had come that he would depart from this world to the Father, having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end. ² And during the meal, the devil had already put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, to betray him. ³ Because he knew that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he came forth from God, and was going to God,

⁶ Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

⁸ Philip said to him, "Lord, show us the Father, and that will be enough for us." ⁹ Jesus said to him, "Have I been with you all this time, and still you do not know me, Philip? He who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, 'Show us the Father?'

¹¹ Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father is in me; or else believe because of the works themselves.

²¹ that they may all be one; even as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us; that the world may believe that you sent me.

¹⁷ Jesus said to her, "Do not touch me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to my brothers, and tell them, 'I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.'"

⁶ that with one accord you may with one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

³ Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort;

³¹ The God and Father of the Lord Jesus, he who is blessed forevermore, knows that I do not lie.

³ Grace, mercy, and peace will be with us, from God the Father, and from Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.

¹ Jude, a servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to those who are called, loved by God the Father, and kept for Jesus Christ:

¹⁶ Then Jacob woke up from his sleep, and said, "Surely God is in this place, and I did not know it." ¹⁷ He was afraid, and said, "How awesome is this place. This is none other than God's house, and this is the gate of heaven."

¹ Now Moses was keeping the flock of Jethro, his father-in-law, the priest of Midian, and he led the flock to the back of the wilderness, and came to God's mountain, to Horeb.

⁵ He said, "Do not come close. Take your sandals off of your feet, for the place you are standing on is holy ground."

¹⁵ The commander of the army of the LORD said to Joshua, "Take your shoes off of your feet; for the place on which you stand is holy." Joshua did so.

⁹ They will not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain; for the earth will be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.

⁷ even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted on my altar; for my house will be called a house of prayer for all peoples."

³ Thus says the LORD: "I have returned to Zion, and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem. Jerusalem shall be called 'The City of Truth;' and the mountain of the LORD of hosts, 'The Holy Mountain.'"

⁶ When the disciples heard it, they fell on their faces, and were very afraid.

⁷ The LORD's Law is perfect, restoring the soul. The LORD's testimony is sure, making wise the simple. ⁸ The LORD's precepts are right, rejoicing the heart. The LORD's commandment is pure, enlightening the eyes. ⁹ The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever. The LORD's ordinances are true, and righteous altogether.

¹⁰⁵ NUN. Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path.

²³ For the commandment is a lamp, and the Law is light. Reproofs of instruction are the way of life,

²⁰ Turn to the law and to the testimony. If they do not speak according to this word, surely there is no morning for them.

² The people sitting in darkness have seen a great light. Those living in the land and shadow of death, on them a light has shined.

²¹ Produce your cause," says the LORD. "Bring forth your strong reasons," says the King of Jacob. ²² "Let them come near and declare to us what shall happen. Declare the former things, what they are, that we may consider them, and know the latter end of them; or show us things to come. ²³ Declare the things that are to come hereafter, that we may know that you are gods. Yes, do good, or do evil, that we may be dismayed, and see it together.

²⁶ Who has declared it from the beginning, that we may know? And before, that we may say, 'He is right?' Surely, there is no one who declares. Surely, there is no one who shows. Surely, there is no one who hears your words.

¹ "Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD has risen upon you. ² For, look, darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the peoples; but the LORD will arise on you, and his glory shall be seen on you.

¹⁶ The people sitting in darkness have seen a great light, and those living in the land and shadow of death, on them a light has dawned."

⁷⁸ because of the tender mercy of our God, whereby the dawn from on high will visit us, ⁷⁹ to shine on those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death; to guide our feet into the way of peace."

²⁹ "But Abraham said to him, 'They have Moses and the Prophets. Let them listen to them.' ³⁰ "He said, 'No, father Abraham, but if one goes to them from the dead, they will repent.' ³¹ "He said to him, 'If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, neither will they be persuaded if one rises from the dead.'"

⁷ He came as a witness to testify about the light, that all might believe through him. ⁸ He was not the light, but was sent that he might testify about the light. ⁹ The true light that enlightens everyone was coming into the world.

³⁵ He was the burning and shining lamp, and you were willing to rejoice for a while in his light.

³⁹ You search the Scriptures, because you think that in them you have everlasting life; and these are they which testify about me.

¹² Again, therefore, Jesus spoke to them, saying, "I am the light of the world. He who follows me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life."

²⁹ that you abstain from things sacrificed to idols, from blood, from things strangled, and from sexual immorality, from which if you keep yourselves, it will be well with you. Farewell."

¹¹ Now these were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of the mind, examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so.

⁴ in whom the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, so they would not see the light of the glorious Good News of Christ, who is the image of God. ⁵ For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your slaves because of Jesus. ⁶ For it is God, who spoke for light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.

⁷ Therefore do not be partakers with them. ⁸ For you were once darkness, but are now light in the Lord. Walk as children of light,

⁸ However, if you fulfill the royal law, according to the Scripture, "You are to love your neighbor as yourself," you do well.

¹⁰ Concerning this salvation, the prophets sought and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that would come to you,

¹⁰ He who believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself. He who does not believe God has made him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has given concerning his Son.

⁶ They have testified about your love before the church. You will do well to send them forward on their journey in a manner worthy of God,

²⁸ and I will give him the morning star.

¹⁶ I, Jesus, have sent my angel to testify these things to you for the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David; the bright morning star."

⁶ knowing this, that our old self was crucified with him, that the body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be in bondage to sin.

⁶ Having gifts differing according to the grace that was given to us, if prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of our faith;

¹¹ Do this, knowing the time, that it is already time for you to awaken out of sleep, for salvation is now nearer to us than when we first believed.

⁹ as knowing this, that law is not made for a righteous person, but for the lawless and insubordinate, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who kill their father or mother, for murderers,

³ knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance.

³ knowing this first, that in the last days scoffers will come, mocking and walking after their own lusts,

²⁸ Moses said, "Hereby you shall know that the LORD has sent me to do all these works; for they are not from my own mind.

¹ This is the blessing, with which Moses the man of God blessed the children of Israel before his death.

⁶ Then the descendants of Judah drew near to Joshua in Gilgal. Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite said to him, "You know the thing that the LORD spoke to Moses the man of God concerning me and concerning you in Kadesh Barnea.

² "The Spirit of the LORD spoke by me. His word was on my tongue.

¹ Look, there came a man of God out of Judah by the word of the LORD to Beth El: and Jeroboam was standing by the altar to burn incense.

¹⁸ And she said to Elijah, "What do we have in common, O man of God? You have come to me to bring my sin to memory, and to kill my son."

²⁴ And the woman said to Elijah, "Now I know that you are a man of God and that the word of the LORD in your mouth is the truth."

⁷ Then she came and told the man of God. He said, "Go, sell the oil, and pay your debt; and you and your sons live on the rest."

⁹ She said to her husband, "See now, I perceive that this is a holy man of God, that passes by us continually.

²² She called to her husband, and said, "Please send me one of the servants, and one of the donkeys, that I may run to the man of God, and come again."

¹⁰ The king of Israel sent to the place which the man of God told him and warned him of; and he saved himself there, not once nor twice.

¹⁵ When the servant of the man of God had risen early, and gone out, look, an army with horses and chariots was around the city. His servant said to him, "Alas, my master. What shall we do?"

¹⁴ But as for Moses the man of God, his sons were named among the tribe of Levi.

¹⁴ He appointed, according to the ordinance of David his father, the divisions of the priests to their service, and the Levites to their offices, to praise, and to minister before the priests, as the duty of every day required; the doorkeepers also by their divisions at every gate: for so had David the man of God commanded.

⁷ The seers shall be disappointed, and the diviners confounded. Yes, they shall all cover their lips; for there is no answer from God."

³⁶ David himself said in the Holy Spirit, 'The Lord said to my Lord, "Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies the footstool of your feet."'

⁷⁰ (as he spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets who have been from of old),

¹⁶ "Brothers, it was necessary that this Scripture should be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit spoke before by the mouth of David concerning Judas, who was guide to those who took Jesus.

¹⁸ But the things which God announced by the mouth of all his prophets, that the Christ should suffer, he thus fulfilled.

²⁵ When they did not agree among themselves, they departed after Paul had spoken one word, "The Holy Spirit spoke rightly through Isaiah, the prophet, to your fathers,

¹⁵ From infancy, you have known the holy Scriptures which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith, which is in Christ Jesus. ¹⁶ All Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, ¹⁷ that the person of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

⁷ Therefore, even as the Holy Spirit says, "Today if you will hear his voice,

⁸ The Holy Spirit is indicating this, that the way into the Holy Place was not yet revealed while the first tabernacle was still standing;

¹⁵ The Holy Spirit also testifies to us, for after saying,

¹¹ searching for who or what kind of time the Spirit of Christ, which was in them, pointed to, when he predicted the sufferings of Christ, and the glories that would follow them.

¹⁰ I fell down before his feet to worship him. He said to me, "Look. Do not do it. I am a fellow servant with you and with your brothers who hold the testimony of Jesus. Worship God, for the testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of Prophecy."
