¹ So all Israel were reckoned by genealogies; and look, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel: and Judah was carried away captive to Babylon for their disobedience.

²⁵ They trespassed against the God of their fathers, and prostituted themselves after the gods of the peoples of the land, whom God destroyed before them. ²⁶ The God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Pul king of Assyria, and the spirit of Tilgath Pilneser king of Assyria, and he carried them away, even the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh, and brought them to Halah, and Habor, and Hara, and to the river of Gozan, to this day.

¹¹ Therefore the LORD brought on them the captains of the army of the king of Assyria, who took Manasseh in chains, and bound him with fetters, and carried him to Babylon.

⁵⁹ These were those who went up from Tel Melah, Tel Harsha, Cherub, Addan, and Immer; but they could not show whether their fathers' house, and their descent, were from Israel:

⁶² These sought their place among those who were registered by genealogy, but they were not found: therefore were they deemed polluted and put from the priesthood. ⁶³ The governor said to them, that they should not eat of the most holy things, until there stood up a priest with Urim and with Thummim.

⁵ My God put into my heart to gather together the nobles, and the rulers, and the people, that they might be reckoned by genealogy. I found the book of the genealogy of those who came up at the first, and I found written in it:

⁶⁴ These searched for their genealogical records, but couldn't find them. Therefore were they deemed polluted and put from the priesthood.

⁹ Then Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carried away captive into Babylon the residue of the people who remained in the city, the deserters also who fell away to him, and the residue of the people who remained.
