⁷ Then came the day of unleavened bread when the paschal lamb had to be sacrificed.

¹⁷ On the first day of unleavened bread the disciples of Jesus came up and said to him, "Where do you want us to prepare for you to eat the passover?" ¹⁸ He said, "Go into the city to so-and-so; tell him that the Teacher says, 'My time is near, I will celebrate the passover at your house with my disciples.' " ¹⁹ So the disciples did as Jesus had told them, and prepared the passover.

¹² On the first day of unleavened bread (the day when the paschal lamb was sacrificed) his disciples said to him, "Where do you want us to go and prepare for you to eat the passover?" ¹³ So he despatched two of his disciples, telling them, "Go into the city and you will meet a man carrying a water-jar; follow him, ¹⁴ and whatever house he goes into, tell the owner that the Teacher says, 'Where is my room, that I may eat the passover there with my disciples?' ¹⁵ He will show you a large room upstairs, with couches spread, all ready; prepare the passover for us there." ¹⁶ The disciples went away into the city and found it was as he had told them. So they prepared the passover,

⁷ Clean out the old dough that you may be a fresh lump. For you are free from the old leaven; Christ our paschal lamb has been sacrificed.
