²¹ Should not God fynde it out? for he knoweth the very secretes of the herte.

²² The myghtye God Iehouah he knoweth, and Israel shall knowe yf it be to rebelle or transgresse agaynste the Lorde, then the Lorde saue vs not thys daye. ²³ Or els yf we haue buylt vs an aulter to tourne from folowynge the Lorde, or to offer thereon burntofferynge or meate offerynges, or to offer peace offerynges thereon: let the Lorde requyre it:

⁴ Doeth not he se my wayes, and tell all my goynges.

¹⁴ But seynge that God will syt in iudgement what shall I do? And for so muche as he will nedes vpset me, what answere shall I geue hym?

²¹ And why? hys eyes loke vpon the wayes of man, and he seith all hys goynges. ²² There is no darcknes nor thicke shadow, that can hyde the wycked doers from hym.

¹ To the chaunter, a Psalme of Dauid. O Lorde, thou searchest me out, and knowest me. ² Thou knowest my doune sittyng and myne vprysinge, thou vnderstandest my thoughtes a farre of. ³ Thou art about my path & about my bed and spyest out all my wayes. ⁴ For lo, there is not a worde in my tonge, but thou, O Lorde knowest it altogether. ⁵ Thou hast fashioned me behynde and before, and layed thyne hande vpon me. ⁶ Such knowlege is to wonderfull and excellent for me, I can not atteyne vnto it. ⁷ Whither shal I go then from thy sprete? or, whyther shall I go then frome thy presence? ⁸ If I clyme vp into heauen, thou art there if I go doune to hel, thou art there also. ⁹ If I take the wynges of the mornynge, & remayne in the vttermost parte of the sea: ¹⁰ Euen there also shall thy hande leade me, and thy right hand shall holde me. ¹¹ If I saye: peraduenture the darkenesse shall couer me, then shall my nyghte be turned to daye. ¹² Yea, the darkenesse is no darkenesse with the, but the nyght is as cleare as the day, the darkenesse and light are both a lyke. ¹³ For my reynes are thyne, thou hast couered me in my mothers wombe. ¹⁴ I will geue thankes vnto the, for I am wonderously made: maruelous are thy workes, & that my soule knoweth right well. ¹⁵ My bones are not hyd from the, though I be made secretly, and fashyoned beneth in the earth. ¹⁶ Thyne eyes se myne vnperfectnesse, they stande all written in thy boke: my dayes were fashyoned, when as yet there was not one of them. ¹⁷ How deare are thy counsails vnto me O God? O how greate is the summe of them? ¹⁸ If I tell them, they are mo in numbre then the sande: when I wake vp, I am presente with the. ¹⁹ Wylt thou not slaye the wycked (Oh God) that the bloudthyrsty myghte departe fro me? ²⁰ For they speake vnright of the, thyne enemyes exalte them selfes presumpteously. ²¹ I hate them, O Lorde, that hate the: and I maye not awaye wyth those that ryse vp agaynst the. ²² Yea I hate them right sore, therefore are they myne enemyes. ²³ Trye me, O God, and seke the grounde of myne herte: proue me, and examen my thoughtes. ²⁴ Loke well if there be any way of wickednesse in me, and leade me in the way euerlastynge.

¹⁴ For God shal iudge all workes and secrete thynges, whether they be good or euell.

¹⁰ Euen I the Lorde search out the grounde of the herte, & trye the reynes, and rewarde euery man accordinge to hys wayes, and acordynge to the fruyte of his councels.

²⁴ Maye eny man hyde hym self so, that I shal not se him? sayeth the Lorde. Do not I fulfyll heauen and earth? sayeth the Lorde.

¹⁶ at the daye when God shall iudge the secretes of men by Iesus Christ accordynge to my Gospell.

⁵ Therfore iudge nothinge before the tyme vntill the Lorde come, who wyll lyghten thinges, that are hyd in darckenes, and open the counsels of the hertes. And then shall euery man haue praise of God.

¹² For the word of God is quicke and myghty in operacion, and sharper then anye two edged swerde, and entreth through, euen vnto the diuiding a sonder of the soule and the spirite, and of the ioyntes and the marie, and iudgeth the thoughtes and the ententes of the herte: ¹³ neyther is there anye creature inuisible in the syght of him. For all thinges are naked and bare vnto the eyes of him, of whom we speake.

²³ And I will kyl her chyldren wyth death. And all the congregacions shal know, that I am he, whiche searched the reynes and hertes. And I will geue vnto euery one of you according vnto youre workes.
