¹ Geue sentence vpon me (O God) and defende my cause agaynst the vnholy people: Oh delyuer me from the dysceatefull, and wycked man. ² For thou (O God) art my strength: why hast thou shut me from the? Why go I then so heuely, whyle the enemye oppresseth me? ³ Oh sende out thy light any thy truth, that they maye leade me and brynge me vnto thy holy hyll, and to thy dwellyng. ⁴ That I maye go into the aulter of God, euen vnto the God whyche is my ioye & pleasure, and vpon the harpe to geue thankes vnto the, O God, my God. ⁵ Why art thou so heuy (O my soule) and why art thou so disquyeted wythin me? O put thy trust in God, for I wyll yet geue hym thanckes for the helpe of hys countenaunce, and because he is my God.

² The Lorde is my strength & my songe, and is become my saluacion. He is my God and I wyll glorifie hym, he is my fathers God and I wyll lyfte hym vp an hye.

⁹ I wyll say vnto God my stony rock: why host thou forgotten me? why go I thus heuely, whyle the enemye oppresseth me?

¹⁵ The hyll of Basan is Gods hyl, the hil of Basan is a plenteous hyl. ¹⁶ Why hoppe ye so, ye greate hylles? It pleaseth God to dwell vpon thys hyll yea the Lorde wyll abide in it for euer.

⁴ Deliuer me, O my God, out of the hand of the vngodly, oute of the hande of the vnryghtuous and cruell man.

¹⁴ For the Lorde will not fayle his people, neither will he forsake his inheritaunce.

¹¹ There is sprong vp a lighte for the ryghteous, and a ioyfull gladnesse for suche as be true herted.

¹⁰ Teache me to do the thynge that pleaseth the, for thou arte my God: lette thy louinge sprete leade me forth vnto the lande of righteousnes.

⁵ Put thy trust in the Lord wyth all thyne hert, and leane not vnto thyne own vnderstandinge. ⁶ In all thy wayes haue respecte vnto hym, & he shal ordre thy goinges.

²³ for the Lorde him selfe wyll defende their cause, and do vyolence vnto them that haue vsed vyolence.

¹¹ For he that delyuereth them is myghty, euen he shall defend their cause agaynste the.

³¹ But vnto them that haue the Lorde before their eyes, shal strength be encreased, Aegles wynges shall growe vpon them: When they runne they shall not fal: and when they go, they shal not be weery.

²⁴ sayinge: Verelye in the Lorde is my ryghtuousnes and strength. To hym shall men come: but all they that thyncke scorne of hym, shalbe confounded.

¹⁰ And therfore I am ioyful in the Lorde, and my soule reioyseth in my God. For he shall put vpon me the garment of health, & couer me with the mantle of righteousnes. He shal decke me lyke a brydegrom, and as a bryde that hath her apparell vpon her.

⁸ O thou enemye of myne, reioyce not at my fal, for I shal get vp agayne: and thoughe I syt in my darckenesse, yet the Lorde is my lyght. ⁹ I wyl beare the punyshment of the Lorde (for why? I haue offended hym) tyll he sit in iudgement vpon my cause, and se that I haue ryghte. He wyll brynge me forth to the lyght, & I shall se hys ryghtuousnesse.

²⁰ Thou shalt kepe thy truste wyth Iacob, and thy mercye for Abraham, lyke as thou haste sworne vnto oure fathers longe agoo.

¹⁷ For the fygge trees shall not be grene, & the vynes shall beare no frute. The laboure of the olyue shalbe but lost, & the lande shall bringe no corne: the shepe shalbe taken oute of the fold & there shalbe no catel in the stalles. ¹⁸ But as for me, I wyll be glad in the Lorde, and wyll reioyce in God my sauyoure.

¹² I will comforte them in the Lord, that they maye walcke in his name, sayeth the Lorde.

¹⁷ For the lawe was geuen by Moyses, but grace and truthe came by Iesus Christ.
