²⁵ Thou nedest not to be afrayed of any sodaine feare nether for the vyolent rushynge in of the vngodly, when it commeth.

²¹ He shal kepe the from the perlous tonge that so when trouble commeth, thou shalt not nede to feare. ²² In destruccion & derth thou shalt be mercy, & shalt not be afrayed for the beastes of the earth:

¹³ Yf thou haddest now a righte herte, and lyftedst vp thyne handes towarde hym: ¹⁴ yf thou woldest put awaye the wyckednesse which thou hast in hande, so that no vngodlynesse dwelt in they house: ¹⁵ Then myghtest thou lyft vp thy face without shame, then shuldest thou besure and haue no nede to feare.

¹ Of Dauid. The Lorde is my lyghte and my health: whome then shoulde I feare? the Lorde is the strength of my life, for whom then shuld I be afraied? ² Therfore when the wycked, euen myne enemies and my foes, came vpon me, to eate vp my flesh, stombled and fell.

¹ To the chaunter, a songe of the children of Corah vpon almuth. In oure troubles & aduersitye, we haue founde, that God is oure refuge, oure strength and helpe. ² Therfore wyl we not feare though the earth fell, and though the hylles were caryed into the myddest of the sea. ³ Though the waters of the sea raged and were neuer so troublous, and thoughe the mountaynes shoke at the tempest of the same. ¹⁹ O how sodenly do they consume, perysh, and come to a fearful ende?

⁵ So that thou shalt not nede to be afrayed for any bugges by night, nor for the arrowe that flyeth by daye.

⁷ He wyll not be afrayed for anye euyll tydynges, his herte standeth fast, and beleueth in the Lord.

²⁷ euen when the thing that ye be afrayed of, falleth in sodenly lyke a storme, & your miseri like a tempest: yea, when trouble & heuinesse commeth vpon you.

¹² rounde with none of them, whosoeuer saye: younder people are bounde together. Neuertheles feare them not, neyther be afraide of them, ¹³ but sanctifye the Lorde of hostes, let him be youre feare and drede.

¹⁰ be not afrayd, for I will be with the. Loke not behynde the, for I will be thy God, to strength the, helpe the, and to kepe the with this right hand of myne. ¹¹ Behold, all they that resyst the, shall come to confusyon and shame: & thine aduersaries shalbe destroyed and brought to naught. ¹² So that who so seketh after them, shall not fynde them. Thy destroyers shall perysh and so shall they that vndertake to make batell agaynst the: ¹³ For I thy Lorde and God, will strengthen thy ryght hande. Euen I that saye vnto the: Feare not. I will helpe the. ¹⁴ Be not a frayde thou lytle worme Iacob, & thou despysed Israell for I will helpe the, sayeth the Lorde, and the holy one of Israel thyne auenger.

¹⁷ oure GOD whome we serue, is able to kepe vs from the hote burnynge ouen (O kynge) and can right well delyuer vs oute of thy handes. ¹⁸ And thoughe he wyll not, yet shalte thou knowe (O kynge) that we wil not serue thy Goddes, nor do reuerence to the Image, whiche thou haste set vp.

²⁴ And beholde there arose a great tempest in the sea, in so much that the shippe was couered with waues, and he was a slepe. ²⁵ And his discyples came vnto him, and awoke him sayinge: master saue vs, we peryshe. ²⁶ And he sayed vnto them: why are ye fearfull, O ye of lytle fayth? Then he arose, and rebuked the wyndes and the sea, and there folowed a great calme.

⁶ Ye shall heare of warres? and of the fame of warres: but se that ye be not troubled. For all these thinges muste come to passe, but the ende is not yet.

¹⁵ When ye therfore shall se the abhomination that betokeneth desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophete, stande in the holye place (let hym that readeth it, vnderstande it)

⁴⁰ And he sayde vnto them: Why are ye so fearfull? howe is it that ye haue no faythe?

⁹ But when ye heare of warre and dissencion, be not afrayed. For these thinges muste fyrste come: but the ende foloweth not by & by.

¹⁸ Yet there shal not one heare of your heades perishe. ¹⁹ With your pacience possesse your soules. ²⁰ And when ye se Ierusalem beseged with an hoste, then vnderstande that the solacion of the same is nye. ²¹ Then let them which are in Iwrye fly the to mountaines. And let them which are in the middes of it depart out. And let not them that are in other countries, enter therin. ²² For these be the dayes of vengeaunce, to fulfil all that are written. ²³ But wo be to them that be with chylde, and to them that geue sucke in those dayes: for ther shalbe great trouble in the lande, and wrath ouer all this people. ²⁴ And they shall fall on the edge of the swearde, and shalbe lead captyue into all nacyons. And Ierusalem shalbe troden vnder fote of the gentyls vntyll the tyme of the gentyls be fulfylled. ²⁵ And ther shalbe signes in the sunne, and in the mone, and in the starres: & in the earth, the people shalbe in such perplexitye, that they shall not tel which waye to turne them selues. The sea and the waters shall roore, ²⁶ and mens hertes shall fayle them for feare, & for lokinge after those thinges whiche shall come on the earth. For the powers of heauen shal moue. ²⁷ And then shall they se the sonne of man come in a cloude with power and great glory. ²⁸ When these thynges beginne to come to passe then loke vp, and lift vp your heades, for youre redempcion draweth nye.

¹ And he sayd vnto hys disciples: Let not youre hertes be troubled. Beleue in God & beleue in me.

¹⁴ Notwithstanding happy are ye, yf ye suffre for ryghtuousnes sake. Yea and feare not though they seme terrible vnto you, neither be troubled,
