⁵ By hearing, the wyse man shall come by more wysedome: & by experience

³² Then sayde Dauid to Abigail: blessed be the Lorde God of Israel which sent the this daie to mete me. ³³ And blessed be thy behaueoure, and blessed be thou whyche hast kept me this daye from coming to shed bloud and from aduenging my selfe with mine own hande.

¹⁶ And as the prophet spake to him, he sayde to the prohhete: haue men made the of the kynges councell? cease, leste thou be beaten. And the prophete ceased and sayde: I am sure that God hath taken councell to destroye the, because thou hast done this, and obeyest not my councell.

¹⁰ Therfore herken vnto me, ye that haue vnderstandynge. Farre be it from God, that he shulde medle with wyckednesse: and farre be it from the almyghtye, that he shuld medle wyth vnryghtuous dealynge:

¹⁶ If thou nowe haue vnderstandynge, heare what I say, and herken to the voyce of my wordes.

³⁴ For els the men of vnderstandyng & wysdome, that haue heard me, myght say: What canste thou speake?

⁹⁸ Thou thorow thy commaundement hast made me wyser then myne enemyes, for it is euer by me. ⁹⁹ I haue more vnderstandyng then all my teachers, for thy testimonies are my studye. ¹⁰⁰ Yea, I am wyser then the aged, for I kepe thy commaundementes.

⁹ Geue a discrete man but an occasion, & he wilbe the wiser, teache a righteous man, and he will increase.

¹ Who so loueth wysdome, wil be content to be refourmed: but he that hateth to be reproued, is a foole.

¹⁵ I speake as vnto them, whiche haue dyscrecion, iudge ye what I saye.
