⁴ A wholsome tonge is a tree of lyfe but he that abuseth it, hath a broken mynde.

²² And the Lorde God sayd: Loo, Adam is become as it were one of vs, in knowledge of good and euell. But now lest he strech forth hys hande and take also of the tree of lyfe, & eate & lyue euer. ²³ And the Lord God cast hym out of the garden of Eden, to tylle the erth whence he was taken. ²⁴ And he cast Adam out, & sette at the enterynge of the garden Eden, Cherubin with a naked swerde mouynge in and out, to kepe the way to the tree of lyfe.

² Thy tonge ymagyneth wyckednesse, and with lyes it cutteth like a sharpe rasoure. ³ Thou loueste vngratiousnesse more then good, to talke of lyes more then ryghtuousnesse. Selah. ⁴ Thou louest to speake al wordes that may do hurte. O thou false tonge.

²² for I am helplesse, and pore and my herte is wounded within me.

¹⁸ She is a tree of lyfe to them that laye holde vpon her, and blessed are they that kepe her fast.

¹⁸ A sclaunderous personne pricketh like a swerd, but a wise mans tonge is wholsome.

²⁴ Fayre wordes are an hony combe, a refreshynge of the mynde, and helth of the bones.

⁸ The words of a sclanderer are very woundes, and go thorow vnto the inmost parts of the body.

¹⁴ A good stomacke driueth awaye a mans disease, but when the sptrite is vexed, who may abide it?

²² A slaunderers wordes are lyke flaterye, but they pearse the inwarde partes of the bodye.

² But vnto you that feare my name, shall the Sonne of ryghteousnesse aryse, and healthe shalbe vnder his winges: ye shal go forth, & multipply as the fat calues.

³ These thynges teache and exhorte. Yf any man teache otherwyse, and is not contente wt the holsome wordes of our Lord Iesus christ, and wyth the doctryne of Godlynes,

⁷ Let him that hath eares heare, what the spirite sayeth vnto the congregacions. To him that ouercommeth, wyl I geue to eate of the tree of lyfe, whyche is in the middes of the Paradyse of God.
